This pest control company is nothing but a scam. Caught thier technicians several times do very mininal/show up pretend to do stuff and leave. How? I'd make sure to schedule every appointment when I was home, but I pretended not to be home when they rung the bell. When confronted (after they had gotten back into thier vehicles) I asked why didn't you spray treat or granulate the yard for pests. Thier response was ALWAYS oh sorry I am out of *such and such* I can schedule you for a free reservice. As if it's Completely OK to show up at someone's house and do 1/8 of what thier contract says you get. And still collect thier quarterly bill unless you take time to CATCH them in the act. BEWARE BOTH ECOSHIELD AND APTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL USE THE EXACT SAME TRUCKS, EXACT SAME EMAIL FORMAT, SAME CRAP SERVICE. THEY ARE THE SAME SCAM COMPANY WITH DIFFERENT NAME. read more

Excellent customer service and went out of his way to take the time to answer questions and explain the process. At the house on time and listened to my concerns. This company has gotten results compared to the company I was with before failed after they had been here 7 times. read more

Very strange. A young man rang my doorbell and tried to hard sell me on VERY expensive pest control products that he had initially claimed were less expensive than Rose Pest Solutions. I pay less than $40 per month for quarterly and free re-application services as needed. I'm very satisfied. Similar to other stories, the man claimed that my neighbors had signed up with them. Whether or not they did, I don't care, it's just clearly part of a sales pitch. Anyway, I told him that I needed to do more research. We scheduled a time for him to come back today, but he never did come back. read more

They clearly do not respect 'No Soliciting' signs as evidenced by their recent visit to my door and all the 1 star reviews on Yelp saying the same. Still pitching when I said NO, is clearly harassment. I'm sure Douglas C will apologize but perhaps he should teach his walking salesmen how to read plain English before going out. The only pests I have are door to door salesmen that don't respect privacy. Wonder if Ecoshield can control those pests? read more

I hired them for insect control as well as intense mouse mitigation after moving into my home. It has been a year now, and we still have mice getting in on a regular basis even though they are "sealing up" the house every month. I paid a high price for them to come seal Up my home and keep it mouse free for a year. This has never happened. Supposedly they have a satisfaction guaranteed policy and I have yet to be satisfied. At this point, I would just like my money back so I can put it towards real solutions. read more

They disregard "No soliciting" signs, left my gate opened for my dog to get out. Very rude.

Technicians are nice, but the product doesn't work. When you buy the service they promesa to get read of all your insects. IT DIESNT WORK! I requested cancellation last month and so far it has not been cancelled. Today the owner called me very upset saying that arco Shield was the best in the market. I told him that it didn't work for me and to please cancel my service. He told me he was going to charge me $100 dollars for cancellation because I received a discounted service with the promotion they had. The service didn't work but they still charge you. He was aggressive and angry. STAY AWAY FROM THEM or you'll end up disappointed, overcharged and harassed. I told him to charge me and cancel. Good radiance! read more

A smiling salesman came to my house talking about how the rain had totally messed up their schedule and they were in the neighborhood because a lot of my neighbors used them and just because of this unusual circumstance they could treat my house for half price to keep all the scary bugs out. From the moment he rang the doorbell, everything about this screamed scam to me. Told him, "No thanks," and glad I did after reading the reviews here. My hard and fast rule. If anyone shows up at your door to sell you something, it is not a bargain. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. We used them for early spring through late summer months. Did not help the mosquitoes. When I called for assistance, they said their service only killed the adults and not the lavae. They said it would cost more to kill the larvae... and it was a lot more. When we cancelled, they charged us to exit out of the service. read more

DO NOT USE. This place is a total scam. Everything that the representative told me about billing and canceling is a blatant lie. They totally mislead you about how much it really costs. The service will run you upwards of $1,600 per year. Then when you try to cancel they have the audacity to charge you a $150 cancelation fee. I regret ever answering the door when they came by. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. read more

This company is a complete fraud. They don't come when they say and they bill for services that were never performed. STAY AWAY from Ecoshield! read more

This a scam, SCAM. The company rep informed me that if I am not satisfied with the results I could discontinue any time at no cost. I was not satisfied after the 1st application. I called to discontinue and I was told that I owe them $300 because the actual cost of the 1st application is $400! and I payed only the discounted! price of $100 and I am now responsible for the balance. I wish I could give Zero Stars. read more

They charge you for service that's not done, then when you speak to someone about it, they defend their service. They ended up saying that they would send another team out free of charge, then charged me, refused to refund me, and told me to read the last line of the contract. Do NOT use this company. I have never written a review, but this place is such a scam. read more

Be careful before signing their e contract that they flash to you to win your service. I decided to cancel the service after a year of quarterly service and an additional exclusion service they sold through a third party. For cancellation, they are going to charge another $100 plus, citing frivolous reasons like at the time of initiating the service we gave a discount and would like to recover that now. Such are the business practices that will win them more customers.I'm willing to pay off, rather use the service of such a provider. read more

Ecoshield has been consistently reliable and efficient. We have had no instances of insects in our home since we've been using their services. read more

This was the 2nd time someone from this company has come to my door soliciting. Both times, when I said I was not interested, the sales person was rude. Today, the young man said he heard me in my garage...I am not sure how long this guy was snooping around my property but that is unacceptable. Then when I proceeded to tell him we have a service, he proceeds to tell me they aren't doing a good job and asked for the name of the company we use. He then seemed snarky when I told him I didn't think this was any of his business. Even if I needed a pest control service, I would surely not entertain this company after 2 people have been rude, and today's guy snooping around and then discrediting the small business I use. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

This company does not even deserve one star! Impossible to speak to anyone, all phone numbers connect to a service in the Philippines. The local Chicago phone # 630-242-2994 listed is fake. Hold times are HORRIBLE. We tried calling multiple times over multiple days. Furthermore, We paid for regular services, yet a tech has not been out to the house since March 9th. read more

Used them for a year, hope to cancel after a year contract, and was told they need to charge a $175 fee because that is the discount they gave us for the initial service. The fact is, they gave us the $175 initial discount because we just had a pest control service done with another company, and they tried to convince us to switch to them. But the initial cost is $300+, we would not do it since we just had one service. That is why they offered the discount. Now when we want to cancel their service because no results have been seen for a year. They want their discount back. We want to cancel for a reason - pictures are nothing compared to the amount of centipedes around our house. Every service is done is 10-15 min for $150. And we are blamed for didn't contact them to correct the problem earlier. read more

They had this young sales guy come around. Glad to heal him out. Had a cheesy name - Spider Man. Had a line of bs about treating the bugs too much. Door to door sales out hustling, so sure I'll give them a shot. Learned my lesson. I had been with Pointe before. They did a great job. Whenever I had a problem they would come right out. With Eco Shield, I had an ant village in my kitchen. I called. 10 days later then finally get around to it. But they didn't get the job done. So called them after a few days and they penciled me in for 10 days later. So 3 weeks on, still an ant farm. I dealt with it myself and canceled their service. And they couldn't understand why. If you like bugs in your house, hire these fools. When you experience really bad service, don't pretend you didn't read this. You've been warned. read more

This was a good company until we found a mouse. Over the past year had paid for every service/upgrade including exclusion protection. We had someone (Jehemiah/Nemo) from this company come to our door and try to sell us service. I called the company to get his number to call. His name was listed differently at the company but it was the right person. I called twice, left two messages a s texted twice. No reply at ALL. Why come to the door for that kind of response? Go with someone better rated please. read more

I do not recommend this company for less than ethical sales practices. salesperson came unsolicited to my property saying he had a customer in the area who didn't want the service and he was offering me his/her package. He represented that I would get 1 yr of quarterly services for $169. my initial thought was this can't be a a good product if you'll do a year for $169. He said it's that low because there is a $300 discount. So now my thought is ok that a little over $100 per service and they are attempting to buy my repeat business. so of course he has me to sign what would later come to be a service contract. No well, I didn't see a service contract because he only showed me the signature part on the iPad. And he stated all you're just signing for the service today. OK no problem I don't really care I'm only just gonna do this one time service and that'll be it. They'll come out here every quarter service it and then I'll be done with him. So pay the 169 for the initial service fast forward a month later they come back out to do the follow up to the initial service; they want to charge me $169 again. I called them and they say you signed up for a quarterly service $169 per quarter I was like these rascals got me. They somewhat made good by lowering my payment and gave me a credit. But there is no way servicing someone's property is (169 x 5 + 300 (discount added back) for 1 year. read more

We had an ant problem and since calling, we have had no more ants. Our tech Brad did a thorough job and we are very happy with the service!

Sleazy sleazy salesman approached my house (I have a no soliciting sign) and rang my ring doorbell. I answered thru the ring. He stated he was a technician and I'd see his truck coming soon. He did not identify his name or the name of the company but the logo and company name was on his shirt. He went into his script of "I'm servicing some neighbors" I politely stated we are not interested. He started with the script again and I repeated we are not interested. He said "yeah I heard you the first time" he went on to ask who we have doing our pest control. Again I stated we are not interested. He said you have ants on your porch, I repeated we are not interested and I'm asking you nicely to leave. By this time my boyfriend came to the front door, the technician said hello to him tried again to start with his script but my boyfriend said "what did she say". I again repeated over the ring camera that we are not interested please leave. This salesman wound not take no for an answer! My boyfriend told him he needs to leave. If I ever did need pest control I would NEVER use this company due to the horrible interaction with this sleazy, rude, arrogant salesman. I should not have to repeat 5 times that we aren't interested and ask him to leave twice. Disgusting representation!!! Based on the other reviews, this is common practice. read more

High pressure sales who wont take "no" for an answer. Cade was literally arguing with me at my own front door because I was not interested in his service. You could smell him from 6 feet away and his grammar would indicate he dropped out of school in the 5th grade. I called the city of Geneva and the police department about this harassment and sent them the Ring doorbell video and my home security video as evidence. You will need a real exterminators to keep these cockroaches from coming to your home/yard. I truly don't believe its a real business and it appears that many people on this site feel exactly the same. Door to door exterminator salesman.... parents must be thrilled. My son goes door to door selling pest control and arguing with homeowners, it's what his father and I always hoped for him. read more

Sadly, I'm moving away, but my nearly five years in the Chicago suburbs were pest-free, thanks to the wonderful team at EcoShield Pest Solutions. the sale guy told us several of our neighbors signed up. He even had their names. It turned out no one had signed up and when I called to cancel I got a heavy sales pitch. When I stayed firm I was told I would have to pay $150. I advise anyone reading this, DO NOT get sucked in. read more

This must be a scam. The service technician arrived and rang our doorbell - by the time I came to the door, he had left. He didn't do any pest control. Our neighbor was walking by and said she saw him do the same thing at our neighbor's house.... pulled into the driveway, wait a minute and left. I wish I had read all the reviews about this company .... I would not have contracted them. I am willing to pay the cancellation fee and will do so. read more

We have been a customer of EcoShield for years. The technicians are thorough in their application and well versed and educated on prevention of various pests. These people are one step away from scammers. They told us that we would pay $139 and get three services, the next time they came they charged us $169, there are text exchanges where he is swearing to us he will get this fixed. Nothing ever came of it. From the beginning of August have been dodging calls and avoiding resolving this. Tried to do a chargeback for the payments with the bank but it seems they have no problem getting in touch with the bank to dispute the chargeback , but can't bring themselves to actually handle this with me- the money was taken back out of the account. This is F'd up! Don't give this place money, they give you false promises and rob you with no remorse! read more

First, Ecosheild over sold us on the mosquito service, saying that the heavy investment was for the distribution buckets, in reality they billed me $145 every three weeks to come out and fil them up. (Service Cancelled) I kept the normal service and just now I have an infestation of beetles and they refused to come out and eradicate our problem. They said they will only come out for 14 types of bugs (NEWS TO ME), yet I haven't found out how to pick and choose my infestation critters.
