Definitely pay attention to the other reviews on here. This company does NOT care at all about you or customer service in any way. As other reviews have said the sales person that came to my door assured me I would not be locked into the contract. Now that I'm moving out of state which is completely reasonable reason to cancel service, I've told them this several times, they do NOT care. They have called relentlessly, sent email after email. All they care about is locking you into a contract and getting your money. There are plenty of other companies that actually care about their customers. They lie and say they are hired by an HOA or other community members to work in the area. Completely false. Then they draw you in with low rates and hide the fact you will need to pay more once you realize it is an absolutely watered-down inferior product. THEN they tell you they will come back out as many times as needed if it doesn't work. Well news flash Eco shield -- GOOD pest control companies don't need to come back out over and over. They do it right the first time and keep their long-term clients and don't need to run a scam to get business. They build business by reputation and word of mouth. Sleazy sleazy salesman approached my house (I have a no soliciting sign) and rang my ring doorbell. I answered thru the ring. He stated he was a technician and I'd see his truck coming soon. He did not identify his name or the name of the company but the logo and company name was on his shirt. He went into his script of "I'm servicing some neighbors" I politely stated we are not interested. He started with the script again and I repeated we are not interested. He said "yeah I heard you the first time" he went on to ask who we have doing our pest control. Again I stated we are not interested. He said you have ants on your porch, I repeated we are not interested and I'm asking you nicely to leave. By this time my boyfriend came to the front door, the technician said hello to him tried again to start with his script but my boyfriend said "what did she say". I again repeated over the ring camera that we are not interested please leave. This salesman wound not take no for an answer! My boyfriend told him he needs to leave. If I ever did need pest control I would NEVER use this company due to the horrible interaction with this sleazy, rude, arrogant salesman. I should not have to repeat 5 times that we aren't interested and ask him to leave twice. Disgusting representation!!! Based on the other reviews, this is common practice. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. We used them for early spring through late summer months. Did not help the mosquitoes. When I called for assistance, they said their service only killed the adults and not the lavae. They said it would cost more to kill the larvae... and it was a lot more. First guy comes out and he looks at me like I have three heads- we don't do voles he said. Well then why was I told that? I contact the office and was told -well we can treat them like mice. The next guy comes out and says no that won't work, we can't do that. And also says it's bad for your dogs to have those bait traps out there. So why was I told to begin with they were part of the service??? Oh- because this company says anything it can to sucker people in and then don't live up to any of it!!! And then expect you to pay an outrageous cancellation fee when you figure out this company is a scam! Then I still had the silverfish. The second guy that came says There's not much we can do- I'll just throw some of these silverfish packs around to help. I can get these at Home Depot myself- I wasn't paying for this company to throw around some dekko silverfish packs! (Which didn't even work!) I call to cancel, They claim I was offered a treatment to remedy the above. Yes I certainly was- AFTER I said I wanted to cancel. Very very devious practices. Lastly- when calling to complain, again AFTER I said I wanted to cancel, she says, it takes up to a year to get all the bugs out. I do not recommend this company for less than ethical sales practices. salesperson came unsolicited to my property saying he had a customer in the area who didn't want the service and he was offering me his/her package. He represented that I would get 1 yr of quarterly services for $169. my initial thought was this can't be a a good product if you'll do a year for $169. He said it's that low because there is a $300 discount. So now my thought is ok that a little over $100 per service and they are attempting to buy my repeat business. so of course he has me to sign what would later come to be a service contract. No well, I didn't see a service contract because he only showed me the signature part on the iPad. And he stated all you're just signing for the service today. OK no problem I don't really care I'm only just gonna do this one time service and that'll be it. They'll come out here every quarter service it and then I'll be done with him. So pay the 169 for the initial service fast forward a month later they come back out to do the follow up to the initial service; they want to charge me $169 again. I called them and they say you signed up for a quarterly service $169 per quarter I was like these rascals got me. They somewhat made good by lowering my payment and gave me a credit. But there is no way servicing someone's property is (169 x 5 + 300 (discount added back) for 1 year. read more

TERRIBLE! I had a contract with EcoShield where they "Guarantee" being pest free. About 1 week after my quarterly treatment my kitchen was overrun with Ants, no biggie it happens. I called EcoShield to have someone come out and they said the best they can do is 3wks... I pushed back and was told 2.5 wks is the best they can do. Their expectation was that I would be just fine living with ants in my kitchen for over 2 wks... I ended up hiring another service that came out and took care of the issue since there was "nothing they could do, we're busy". I told EcoShield that I was not paying for that service because they didn't fulfill their customer guarantee, I had to essentially pay double to have someone else come out and THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS. I've tried calling their office multiple times and always get a voicemail with no response. No chance would I ever recommend these guys, save your money and look elsewhere! read more

This pest control company is nothing but a scam. Caught thier technicians several times do very mininal/show up pretend to do stuff and leave. How? I'd make sure to schedule every appointment when I was home, but I pretended not to be home when they rung the bell. When confronted (after they had gotten back into thier vehicles) I asked why didn't you spray treat or granulate the yard for pests. Thier response was ALWAYS oh sorry I am out of *such and such* I can schedule you for a free reservice. As if it's Completely OK to show up at someone's house and do 1/8 of what thier contract says you get. And still collect thier quarterly bill unless you take time to CATCH them in the act. A door to door sales rep came to my door selling pest control. I told him from the beginning that I'm moving before the year contract is up. He assured me that I could cancel whenever and only pay for the services that are completed. He told me I had to accept a text that came to my phone which was to verify my address in the system. Turns out it was a two step verification. verifying that I was aware of the cancellation fee. The representative actually pushed the verification button on my phone himself. Total scam! I called to cancel service after my initial service which I paid $169 for. They informed me that I had to pay $400 to cancel. Everyone else has paid a $200 cancellation fee, why mine was double is beyond me. I was completely scammed, this companies reviews speak for themselves. I've already filed a complaint with the BBB. Very strange. A young man rang my doorbell and tried to hard sell me on VERY expensive pest control products that he had initially claimed were less expensive than Rose Pest Solutions. I pay less than $40 per month for quarterly and free re-application services as needed. I'm very satisfied. Similar to other stories, the man claimed that my neighbors had signed up with them. Whether or not they did, I don't care, it's just clearly part of a sales pitch. Anyway, I told him that I needed to do more research. I hired them for insect control as well as intense mouse mitigation after moving into my home. It has been a year now, and we still have mice getting in on a regular basis even though they are "sealing up" the house every month. I paid a high price for them to come seal Up my home and keep it mouse free for a year. This has never happened. Supposedly they have a satisfaction guaranteed policy and I have yet to be satisfied. You could smell him from 6 feet away and his grammar would indicate he dropped out of school in the 5th grade. I called the city of Geneva and the police department about this harassment and sent them the Ring doorbell video and my home security video as evidence. You will need a real exterminators to keep these cockroaches from coming to your home/yard. I requested cancellation last month and so far it has not been cancelled. Today the owner called me very upset saying that arco Shield was the best in the market. I told him that it didn't work for me and to please cancel my service. He told me he was going to charge me $100 dollars for cancellation because I received a discounted service with the promotion they had. The service didn't work but they still charge you. Today, the young man said he heard me in my garage...I am not sure how long this guy was snooping around my property but that is unacceptable.
