I had the service for the full year. It didn't really work that well. Still had bugs. I had decided to cancel the service after the last application for the 1 year service agreement. I literally watched the guy on my doorbell camera refill his sprayer with my garden hose. Water is very "Eco Friendly " but not a very good insecticide. Definitely not worth the money. They won't be getting any more of mine. read more

BEWARE. I hired this company in the spring and I was so excited to be pest free! Unfortunately that never happened. Over the summer we had cookouts and the amount of wasps and bees was crazy. 2 of my guests were stung and our property had already been "treated" by ecoshield pest solutions. The problem is that after services and maintenance the pests NEVER went away! They say their job is guaranteed but that's a lie. So after paying and having them come to our home about 4-6 times and seeing NO improvement I decided to cancel. Not only did they charge me $150 to cancel but they were extremely draining! They had me call about 4 times and speak to so many people. (40-50 minute conversations) It was NOT an easy process at all. It was a hassle and after telling me I would be able to cancel without any charge, they proceeded to charge $150. What a waste of time and money. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone. Bugs, bees and wasps were never taken care of. read more

I honestly can't rate their services because we didn't hire them. But one of the salespeople/owners stopped by our home and insisted on chatting despite me explaining I was putting kids to bed. He said if I didn't get in touch he'd show up again. This kind of pushy sales pitch isn't effective. It completely put me off. read more

This is a scamp company. They pretend to work for your neighbors (referencing them by name) and then trick you into signing a 2-year contract. I'm not sure they are actually spraying anything in your yard. It was pouring rain when they arrived. Cost me $260 to get out of the contract. Beware! read more

Talk about a scam. These people go door-to-door trying to bilk people by trapping them in annual contracts for overpriced pest control. I had been in my new home for less than a month when the high pressure salesman got me. After a 30 minute pitch, I decided to go with it. Why not? I didn't know any better. I was told it would be a 1 year contract consisting of five services. An initial visit, a second visit shortly after, then quarterly visits. Almost immediately I realized I had been scammed. A visit consists of someone coming by for 15 minutes, knocking the cobwebs off the house, and spraying some pesticide...then you get invoiced for $150-200. I still had spiders, moths, everything...they insist that they'll come make it right, but honestly...I bought about $30 worth of pesticides and with 30 minutes of work, got far better results. I didn't bother. I had a card on file with them, yet I'd always end up getting a call to ask for payment. Because of this my account went past due. I was in communication with them already about my dissatisfaction and the late payment, and what do they do? Send a guy out to perform another quarterly service...that makes two services in the dead of winter when nothing is living anyway. A reputable company would stop service since I was behind on payment, but no...they WANT you to rack it up. I told them I'd like to pay my balance and be done with them if that's an option, now they're telling me they're going to invoice me for a "discount payback" - they telling me I need to pay back the coupon they gave me since I'm asking to leave my contract early. By the time all is said and done, I will have spent about $1000 for these scam artists to come out and perform about 2 hours of subpar/unnecessary work over the course of a year. I will be reporting them to the BBB and if one of their greaseball salesmen sets foot on my property ever again, I'll let him know what I think of his employer. Avoid them at all costs!!! EDIT: in response to the request to contact customer service. No thank you, simply put. Every time I've contacted customer service it resulted in an additional sales pitch from someone who was trying to provide additional services. While I appreciate the offer to "make this right" the issue was never that I had bugs and pests and I need more service...in fact, my signing up for this service in the first place was preventative, not to address an existing pest issue. The issue is the exorbitant price you charge for your service, the fact that you lock people into contracts, and the fact that you continue services for past due accounts. If I stop paying my electricity, it gets shut off...not you guys though because you have nothing to lose. It's ten minutes of work. Rack up the bill and threaten collections. As I stated In my review, the issue is with the business model. I am a new homeowner and I was aggressively sold by a guy who wouldn't take no for an answer and obviously knew I didn't know any better. I live in a two year old home. Maybe these prices are acceptable for an old farmhouse with an infestation, but for me, I basically signed up to have someone walk around my brand new house for ten minutes with a broom and a sprayer to knock down cobwebs and spray for bugs that weren't there...5 times in a year at a rate of $175 per visit, and two of the visits occurred in the midst of a deep freeze. The business model here is very clearly, "set people up for quarterly services, and who cares if some of them are in the winter when nothing is alive anyway. By the time the homeowner sees we don't have any work to do when we come, they're already stuck in a contract. If they complain, offer more services. If they stop paying, keep sending people to do more services to keep the balance climbing. If they try to back out early, tell them $175 for ten minutes worth of work was a deal and now they have to pay back their discount. If they stop paying, threaten collections. After all, we did what we said we would...we came five times!" It's a joke. I'd rather see a cockroach on my property than one of your salesman. read more

** Beware** This company is a con The sales person showed up at my door offering a yearly service for a $149 for a limited time only, and the promise to cancel at any time no questions asked. Two months later another tech shows up at the house for 'routine maintenance' and sends another bill for $149 After a few unanswered calls and emails, I was reached by Kai from the 'corporate' office that was happy to cancel my contract for a mere fee of $200 'no questions asked' Well, looking online I see that is the way this company does business in general. Solicit and con users into their business. And from what I see Douglas C listed as the owner reaches out to anyone that leaves a bad review with 'email the account info to look for a better solution' how about give everyone you conned the $200 back.. that's a good solution... GREAT JOB Eco Shield showing the best humanity has to offer during a pandemic!!! read more

Jesse was phenomenal. Before he started the servicing he took a few minutes to chat and just ask how everything was going. I would definitely recommend Echoshield and Jesse to any friend or family member. Thank you again. read more

I would give 0 star if I can. As I just moved into my new house, a salesboy knocked my door asking if he could sign me up for pest control service, as my neighbors were doing so. He not only could put me in the service quickly, but would like to "waive" my initial account fee. In exchange for discount, I must sign up for quarterly service. Any cancellation afterward they "just" required to "pay back" the $150 "discount". How stupid was I to subscript the service, and shortly figured out the initial service was not included, which means I had to pay extra $200 for initial service. Ok, fine, I paid the money and the next day two men showed up and walked around and dusted out my windows and sprayed around my yard. Watching them doing so, I was asking myself, "does this service worth $200?" The guys took away the mouse traps in my basement, placed with theirs, just because as one of them said, 'my house has too many traps.' Anyway, that was the service. I cancelled the service a few days later, just because I was too busy with move-in, otherwise I would cancel it at the spot. I really regret to subscript this UNNECESSARY yet with apparently OVERLY PRICED service. Oh, remember the "discount" they gave you; they asked you to PAY it BACK, $150. For me, this is the same thing as asking for CONCELLATION FEE!! Think about what you can do with $200+$150 = $350? A lot! A brand-new chamberlain garage door open cost $250, with a professional installation $150. A sealcoating services with only $250 Either one I consider is way more worthwhile than this DUST-AND-SPRAY service! Don't worth it. read more

This service is staggeringly overpriced and the customer service is brutal. They charge $200 to have someone come to your house for less than 6 minutes and there hasn't been a change in the amount of bugs in and around the house. There are tons of easy, eco-friendly options at Home Depot for you to do this for $50. They also charged me hundreds to cancel a subscription which they didnt make me aware of at the time of signing. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in this company. If it weren't for the absolutely horrible experience I've had with their billing department, I wouldn't be writing this review. The pest service has been good, we even had an exclusion service completed and that took care of a mouse issue we had. But that's when the billing issues started. The cost of the exclusion service was not something we had the extra cash on hand for. I confirmed with the technician who performed the inspection that I could set up a payment plan before we moved forward with the service. So when I received the invoice for the service, I immediately called and set up a payment plan. The next month rolled around and I started receiving texts that my account was past due. So I called and confirmed that I had a payment plan set up. The next month it happened again, so I called again - literally same thing. This happened for 4 months and then I received a notice that if I didn't pay my account, it would be sent to collections and my account would be cancelled. So I called again, and they confirmed there was a note in my account and it would not be sent to collections, that there was nothing to worry about. Well, my payment for the month just came out and I noticed that my account balance increased. When I checked the detail - my account was charged a $150 cancellation fee. I may leave it cancelled after the absolutely horrible and exhausting billing issues with this company. read more

On Time! Very friendly. Explained todays treatment and what to expect for a follow up.

Huge scam! From the technician to the billing. Not once did they complete a full service. The only thing they ever did was remove a few spider webs and then claim they did the complete service. Not once did they ever do the interior which was also supposed to be included. When we called to complain and cancel they wanted us to pay $150 to fee, on top of already paying for multiple incomplete services. read more

worst company ever and i wish I had read all the other reviews before signing up. their whole pitch is a scam in cities all over the country. It has now been reported to IDFPR. They lie and say they are hired by an HOA or other community members to work in the area. Completely false. Then they draw you in with low rates and hide the fact you will need to pay more once you realize it is an absolutely watered-down inferior product. THEN they tell you they will come back out as many times as needed if it doesn't work. Well news flash Eco shield -- GOOD pest control companies don't need to come back out over and over. They do it right the first time and keep their long-term clients and don't need to run a scam to get business. They build business by reputation and word of mouth. I can only hope others see this before they get sucked in. And i feel sorry for the ambitious young kids who have taken jobs with this company. they all seem smart and pleasant and it is awful they are learning business from such a sleazy operation. Thankful to leave this group behind and return to my original service. read more

The problem with Ecoshield is their sales tactics and contracts. They will give you a "discount" for a year-long contract and the contract will mention that if you cancel within a year, you will be charged for the discount (and the first service if you haven't had it yet). Their competitors will hit that same "discounted" price without the "discount". In my case, my father passed away and I needed to sell my home and move home to support my mother and got slapped with a $150 early termination fee. The whole thing, other than the service itself, felt really slimy from the moment the slick salesman came to the door to the moment they insisted on speaking with me when I notified them via email and text of the sale of my home. read more

I contracted Ecoshield Pest Solutions in mid-May to get rid of a flying insect problem we had around our home. We were told by the region General Manager that they would come out, provide their service, and if not happy with the first service, they would come out a second time at no charge. He also said that if the second application did not work, I would receive a full refund of $189 for the first application. They came out a second time and after several days the problem persisted. I called to cancel the service and get the refund. When I finally got to talk to someone, I was on the phone for 20 minutes trying to cancel the service with the representative. She said that she possibly cancel my 1 year contract (I was never told about a 1 year contract) after I talked with the local office, but that I would have to pay a penalty for early termination. I am now having to deal with the "local office". Wow. What pain. I'm going to contest the problem with my credit card company since I'm getting no where with the companies customer service. read more

We called Eco-Shield and asked them to come back out due to a couple of dead mice in the basement. The scheduler was very polite and we were able to arrange a mutually convenient time within a few days (mainly because of our schedule). Our service technician, Austin, was outstanding. He spent a considerable amount of time examining the basement, the attic and the exterior. He was thorough, the information he provided was most helpful, and he is one of the most polite and articulate techs we've ever dealt with. He gave us several treatment/remediation options to consider (including how I could do things myself), and he followed up 3 days later to see if we had any further questions. Thank you Eco-Shield and Austin. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! They have done nothing they claimed they would. I signed the contract based on the fact that the salesman (FALSELY) PROMISED this company would take care of voles and a silverfish issue. Horrible horrible horrible!!! This company makes claims they don't even come close to living up to. The salesman swore they took care of voles....The main reason I signed up. First guy comes out and he looks at me like I have three heads- we don't do voles he said. Well then why was I told that? I contact the office and was told -well we can treat them like mice. The next guy comes out and says no that won't work, we can't do that. And also says it's bad for your dogs to have those bait traps out there. So why was I told to begin with they were part of the service??? Oh- because this company says anything it can to sucker people in and then don't live up to any of it!!! And then expect you to pay an outrageous cancellation fee when you figure out this company is a scam! Then I still had the silverfish. The second guy that came says There's not much we can do- I'll just throw some of these silverfish packs around to help. I can get these at Home Depot myself- I wasn't paying for this company to throw around some dekko silverfish packs! (Which didn't even work!) I call to cancel, They claim I was offered a treatment to remedy the above. Yes I certainly was- AFTER I said I wanted to cancel. Very very devious practices. Lastly- when calling to complain, again AFTER I said I wanted to cancel, she says, it takes up to a year to get all the bugs out. No person ever said that, not the salesman, not the technicians, not the office. Again- horrible!!! Stay away!!! read more

Read the reviews, there's a reason they have a horrible reputation. Just a terrible company. Their salesman are sleazy and tell flat out lies. They'll promise that all the pests will be gone after the initial treatments. I walked the property with the salesman and he pointed out all the areas they would treat. After the initial treatments all the same areas have all the same pests. The salesman also tells you that it's pet friendly and then the tech says don't let your pets around the product until it's watered in cause they could get sick. They literally throw this stuff all over your lawn after telling you it's ok for your pets and then afterward tell you it can make your pets sick. When the service doesn't work and you call the company their office will tell you that of course it doesn't work, you didn't get the "free" touch up treatments. You have to have those are it won't work. Then they the defend the lies of the salesman who promised it would work. So basically they will keep sending techs out to throw useless product all over your property that can make your pets sick and will not work. Not only did their services not work for us it made our problems worse. We now have ants that we never had before in our house which is very strange. This is an incredibly expensive service for it not to work. They will also charge you tons of money to get out of the contract that they don't live up to. Their idea of living up to the contract is just by sending techs out again and again, not that your house is pest free. This company tells you lies all around. They will try to talk you into staying in the contract with some discounts and more "free" services. They make their money by keeping you in the contract and charging you quarterly fees. Don't believe anything they tell you and do not sign a contract or give them money. They should be out of business. It was so bad I ended up paying the cancellation fee just be rid of them. I literally paid them to go away. This company SUCKS. I am considering filing a complaint with the better business bureau. They will also respond to these negative reviews with a concerning message saying how sorry they are for your bad experience and that you don't understand the contract or that they want to make it right and to reach out for a review on your account. This is obviously for show and another tactic that should not be trusted. read more

Definitely pay attention to the other reviews on here. This company does NOT care at all about you or customer service in any way. As other reviews have said the sales person that came to my door assured me I would not be locked into the contract. Now that I'm moving out of state which is completely reasonable reason to cancel service, I've told them this several times, they do NOT care. They have called relentlessly, sent email after email. All they care about is locking you into a contract and getting your money. There are plenty of other companies that actually care about their customers. They will come on here an apologize for the experience but will not actually do what's right when it comes to it. Avoid. read more

TERRIBLE! I had a contract with EcoShield where they "Guarantee" being pest free. About 1 week after my quarterly treatment my kitchen was overrun with Ants, no biggie it happens. I called EcoShield to have someone come out and they said the best they can do is 3wks... I pushed back and was told 2.5 wks is the best they can do. Their expectation was that I would be just fine living with ants in my kitchen for over 2 wks... I ended up hiring another service that came out and took care of the issue since there was "nothing they could do, we're busy". I told EcoShield that I was not paying for that service because they didn't fulfill their customer guarantee, I had to essentially pay double to have someone else come out and THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. This place is predatory. I would avoid them at all costs. They come door to door and try to get you to sign a contract on the spot. I signed it being a bit naive and then immediately asked the agent (his name was Elijah in 60618) if I could talk to my partner first and he said that's fine. He has initially scheduled me and I asked to cancel it and he confirmed. Little did I know, they showed up a week later unannounced without me making an appointment and I wasn't even home. They sprayed my outside and claimed to remove a hornet's nest (which I removed myself the week prior) but couldn't get behind out locked fences as I did not make the appointment nor was I home. I was assured I would get a refund when I called and after so many phone calls later, they refused and sent the bill for the unrequested service to collections. I fought as hard as I could, but lost juice and just paid the collections bill but wanted to post this to potentially help someone reading this. PLEASE avoid this place. read more
