EDIT UPDATE*** I wrote the review below and eco shield tells me to email them in response to my review. After I send them an email regarding the horrible services provided they just basically stopped answering. Stay away from this company, they are straight up crooks. *** This company is a scam. Their services where completely ineffective. Always sending little kids that don't know how to even spray the "product". I'm going to put together a petition and get people to sign. This scam of a company needs to be stopped and their products audited. I think the FTC will love to look into this fraud. read more

Worst company ever! They promise a lot and charge a lot but deliver nothing. I have paid thousands over the last year and the spider and mouse situation is no better. I've just thrown away a lot of money to start over again. This company should be shut down because it's a total scam! read more

I wish I had the money or Home Owners Insurance covered it b/c I would use them regardless of what everyone is saying and here is why: 1.) Very affordable the whole house inside and out $179. the great price they would even do the shed for free getting rid of all spiders, ants, bees, wasps, and bugs. 2.) Very knowledgeable and friendly Sam took the time to explain everything. He said what they use is eco-safe and safe for pets and kids. 3.) Not pushy at all I told him I'd have to let my dad know he asked if we could get in touch right now and I told him he was working. So he gave me his business card. 4.) Yes he said he was out of Columbus Ohio and doing the whole neighborhood well that makes sense to me. He said after the 1st treatment they would keep up with coming back in 90 days. He said they have to get rid of the parents and then the offspring from them which again makes perfect sense. I had huge big black ants in my cupboard where the sugar and baking supplies are. My mom told me to put a dryer sheet in there and that did the trick gone. I know you can use Citrus and Eucalyptus and other safe home methods to get rid of bugs. Since I don't have the extra money that is what I am doing presently. I wish I could afford to have an exterminating company come out. Like I said I really like what Sam was saying and I would highly recommend these guys just from his initial visit. I'm located in Cincinnati Ohio not in Illinois. read more

Homeowners beware this company is a complete scam!!! I'm in the Beecher, IL area and EcoShield really know how to mess with people's good nature, I will be filling a BBB complaint as they are a dishonorable no good company, as they lock you into a contract for 2 years without your knowledge and then have to pay $300 to cancel!!! I never want to see them in my neighborhood ever again!!!!! Plus in all honesty their service sucks!!! I'd rather just do the work myself. read more

ZERO STARS. I had just moved to the neighborhood and they gave me the spiel of "a neighborly discount in the area" and I fell for it. This was back in 2022. I signed my life over to a contract I had no idea what I was getting into. "Just sign here on this tablet" I thought cool, no more bugs everywhere. I was wrong. Very wrong. Very very very wrong. I still had bugs. Do not fall for this. Go to Ace and get yourself some killer and do it yourself. Please. It will save you thousands. I had asked to cancel my membership back in October but my contract wasn't "met" so I paid ahead so I did not have to have them come to my property anymore. Turns out. They didn't cancel back in December. They came again a few months later and entered my yard. I had called and saying they are trespassing and harassing me and my family. I am so F******** SICK of this. I have said SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO LEAVE ME ALONE AND STOP HARRASSMENT. IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT I DO NOT WANT THEIR SERVICES. They call every other day and they come to my property multiples times a month. I now owed 500 dollars? For what. services I did not want? "We will get your situations resolved" "I'm sorry, I can't get ahold of the department" OF COURSE YOU CANT. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. RUN. NOW. I PAID FOR IT ANYWAY. I PAID FOR YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE. LEAVE ME ALONE. F***. read more

The tech (Eddie) that came was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He was quick and efficient.

Dave's service and professionalism were outstanding! He loves what he does and is great at it. My wife and I wanted the interior treated, but were not home at the time. Dave waited about 10 minutes until we got home and treated the inside of our house. We are grateful to Dave and hope to see him for our next quarterly inspection. read more

I had an inspection appt made for a Saturday, they called me and let me know they no longer were coming, could they come on Monday, I said no, I want my husband home. So they made a new appt for the following Saturday. He never showed up and you can't get through to them on the weekend apparently. We changed our schedules to accommodate this and will now be cancelling our service. read more

On my quarterly review there were bugs coming into the house. The pest control person came in and only sprayed the inside where they knew I was at. After that, they left never doing the outside of the house, this had no effect on the bugs. I called asking for a credit or redo, EcoShield was very unresponsive and I asked for a credit for the last quarterly payment. They were again unresponsive and I canceled my account. They charged me $260 cancellation fee and still haven't applied a credit. Now they are threatening collections against me. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. They signed us up for a 24-month contract, with a 100% guarantee for listed bugs and free follow-up visits. Within months, they obviously could not control the bugs and gave multiple excuses. Calling the local service office, they initially sent a follow service, but this did not fix anything. I requested another follow-up, and they refused, advising me that these bugs were not covered under the contract. They very nicely advised that I could buy Dawn detergent and treat myself. These bugs were included, but no further follow-up visits. Later, I called the HQ to cancel the service as they did not meet the contract terms and failed to control the bugs. The HQ agreed to close with no fees. Since then, my wife has received dozens of calls and text messages advising us to pay a $250 cancellation as they had not completed three follow-up appointments per the contract's terms. I called and informed them they refused to send anyone, but this was not good enough, and we would have to pay. To prevent us from being sent to collections, we have paid, but we want to warn anyone else: First, do NOT use them; second, if you have already signed up, make sure you call HQ every time, not local service. Be warned, these are not good business practices but expensive conmen. read more

Ecoshield is a scam. When they sold me a two-year contract they said I cancel at any time without penalty--but that since I was getting a $200 discount I would have to pay that back if I didn't pay for the first four sprayings. I have now paid for four sprayings, but when I tried to cancel my account today Ecoshield said they would bill me $200 for the discount, even after I explained what their salesman had told me. They said if I didn't pay the $200 within 90 days they would turn the matter over to a collection agency. Their service did no good as far as I could tell, they did not stand behind their salesman's promise and now they're threatening to have a collection agency pester me for the $200. Stick with a local company that provides good service, not this Las Vegas-based bunch of crooks. read more

My initial treatment Derek and another technician was very successful. They were very professional and thorough noting every issue or potential issue. They provided detail information of what they were doing and the product they were using. Also, offered suggestions in reducing pests in troubled areas. He explained how their service works going forward, and several times mentioned to call in between service if I have any issues. It's been 7 days since my initial treatment and do not have any related issues or seen any pests. So far, their service is top notch. read more

Need urgent response due to roach infestation. After a number of calls to the main office (u cant call local office direct). Was told it would be over 2 wks. to get an inspection. Told the girl that wouldnt be acceptable and was disconnected before I could say anything more. The scheduler never called back. After 6 more calls to main office (they couldn't reach the local either). I was told a message was sent and someone would reach out to me in 24 to 48 hrs. On the 3rd day with no calls, I called main office to speak to supervisor. Same story, a message forwarded and someone would get back to me. After another 1 1/2 days, still no call. Please don't contact them. Austin did a very thorough job in a professional manner. He was helpful describing problems and solutions.

Seems like I should've checked yelp prior to booking with this company. I was referred by a friend for their mosquito fogging service so didn't think to research. Anyways my experience with this company is very unprofessional. I received a text reminder that I was scheduled and service would be performed on 7/6. All day went by I called around 5:30 office was closed, fine. I left a message stating that no one came as scheduled to service my property address today. I then send a text to their "auto response message" got a reply back. I think this is very unprofessional that I didn't receive a call yesterday stating the changes or notifying me. Took me to hunt them down. Won't be using them as a service. read more

UPDATE: Nothing like receiving a "response" to a post redirecting me to a general customer service email. Call me old fashioned but if I want a client to feel valued and appreciated I actually pick up the phone and say that to her. Also make no mistake, Nikki did call me AFTER I CALLED AGAIN (since I never received the phone call I was promised...but I guess the case notes did not reflect that detail?) Granted Nikki was very professional and pleasant, but NO SURPRISE the soonest re-visit she was able to confirm (after consulting with the designated SUPERVISOR) was exactly 8 days from my original call. No issue with the service tech Adam that came back out. He seemed to be very competent and thorough. (Frankly if all your techs were as good, I might still be a customer.) Which brings me to the current issue...true to my word I called to CANCEL all of my services on July 21st at 12:08pm CT. I spoke with Maneesh and after having to decline several "offers" and tell him repeatedly that he was not listening and no amount of discounts would retain me as your customer, he finally agreed to cancel. I requested a confirmation email and asked him to confirm the address to which it should go. SHOCKINGLY 5 days later, I have yet to receive. Just another stellar example of the aforementioned poor services. DOUG C. The only response I'd like to see to this post is the CONFIRMATION that I AM A FORMER CUSTOMER and that all of my services are canceled. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter! read more

Kintsu did a great job. Explained everything in detail and made sure the job wasa completed the right way. Thank you!

Avoid this company. They're scamming people. After recently moving back home from Arizona, we fell for the tactic that they serviced my neighbors property. This being a far damper climate than Tucson, we figured there would be a lot more bugs so we signed up for one years service with a quarterly charge. They have some quirk they struggle to explain where you pay five times instead of four when there are clearly only four quarters in a year. The first guy that came out did a great job. He knocked down multiple new wasp nests and put down some insecticide inside and outside the property. We noticed a difference the first quarter. Second quarter rolled around and a different guy shows up to do the quarterly treatment. All he did was knock on the door and then stand in the driveway on his phone for a bit before leaving after doing nothing. Naturally, we had a noticeable increase in spiders, crickets, etc. Third quarter rolled around and I decided to cancel. We sucked it up and paid the $250 cancellation fee rather than pay them three more quarterly payments of $219 for doing nothing. They tried to get me to change my mind after admitting they had a problem with the last guy not doing the treatments, resulting in his termination. In order to entice me to stay, they first offered $15 off this quarterly treatment. I laughed at that explaining that they know the last guy didn't do the treatment yet took my $219. They'd have to offer me at least $219 to get me to stay. She then proceeds to offer me 50% off, which I declined reiterating being already taken for $219. No further offer was given and I gladly cancelled my service. In total, we paid $688 for one bug treatment. You won't find a more expensive exterminator around that won't exterminate anything other than several hundred dollars from your bank account. Save yourself the hassle and just go to Home Depot and buy some concentrated Hot Shot, get a sprayer and spray the perimeter of your house. This is what we did in Arizona and it worked very well. This is what I should have continued to do after moving here and will do moving forward. $8 a bottle every quarter versus $219. This was an expensive lesson for us. Learn from our mistake and don't give this company a penny of your hard earned money. read more

The salesman came to our door and gave us the usual high. Impressive sales pitch. I checked with my neighbor, and they said that the service was good, but would not be specific as to why. So I used my credit card to sign up and was supposed to be getting the substantial discount. Man came out and he did not even do a complete job. they sent out a second Man, who was no better than the first. But they did charge me again for a second visit. then they sent out someone that was supposed to check the garage. Nothing was done there either but yet I was once again charged another fee of over $100. Supposedly any returns to my property was supposed to be at no charge. after four men coming out to my house supposedly to service my house I still have a severe ant problem. The mice issue is still a concern. I texted the sales rep back and advised him that I wanted a refund for the entire situation and to cancel my service. The only response I got was that they were sorry I was not satisfied and they would cancel the service. but of course nothing about refunds. It appears that all this company is interested in is taking our money. If I ran my business this way, I would be out of business and it saddens me that these people can even go home at night and lay their head down and have no concerns or regrets for the way people are treated. I would not and will not recommend EcoShield to anyone. read more

Horrible service!! Impossible to cancel. I was charged for first service the tech did not do what he explained he was going to do. I called and sent emails with pictures. I was told the techs were fired and someone would come out and correct the problem... instead they sent someone out and charged me for a second service. I tried to cancel and they want to charge me 250.00 on top of the 320.00 they already took from me. This company is almost impossible to deal with. After reading all the reviews I am ashamed I didn't look into this company further!! Maybe a class action is in the making!! Stop stealing money from people!!! read more

Sales Rep came to our door which is clearly marked as NO SOLICITATION through our city police department. Echo Shield is a scam and their salesman are Con-Artist. They come to your door stating they are working in your area offering a discount on a 1 time service. Salesman signed me up for an annual service and I was not aware. When the salesman was asked is this a one time service he said "Yes" this was a lie. Salesman said their products were safe for people and pets, this also is a lie. I had birds dying right after they applied their product and had more bugs. It was not until I called the CS Department I was told they would charge $300 to cancel their service after they were paid $300 already for product that did not work. This company is awful! How they do business is criminal. Please stay away for your own good!! read more

I have had the quarterly treatments from EcoShield for the last 18 months. There has been little to no improvement in the pest situation (spiders, earwigs, ants and so on) in and around my home. They say it will take a few treatments before the process will build up and become noticeably effective so I gave them a few treatments before I became skeptical of the benefits of these treatments. They will talk a big game and sneak you into a multi year contract and then blast you with a $200 early termination fee when you want them to stop service. I would never recommend their services nor will I ever use them again myself. The only thing they managed to terminate was the funds in my pocket. read more

Beware of this company!! They only provide services from 8:30-3:30pm.. Most people work from 9am to 5pm.

Beware of this company. I had a year-long contract for pest control services. The contract lists specific dates of payments you must fulfill and they text and or call to let you know when they will be out for each appointment. I fulfilled all the payments and dates of services. During the contract, I had no trouble. I had my last appointment in April of 2022 as per the contract, no problem. In July of 2022, I got a charge on my card from Ecoshield. I called them and they claim that they came out. I explained that my contract ended in April and that I never got a text or call that someone wanted to come out. They claimed that they texted, but they did not. In the past, I always called when I got a text from them so I could schedule the inside to be done as well. In this case I got no call or text and no one came into my home. They also claimed that my contract had to be canceled for charges to end even after the dates on the contract were fulfilled. I have reviewed the contract at great length. There is no such indication that is the case. In fact, the contract is very specific about the payment dates and references completion of the contract. I did in fact pay all the payments listed in the contract and fulfill the terms of my contract. There is absolutely nothing about continuation, a subscription, or canceling after the terms are fulfilled. The entire point of a contract is that both parties agree to the terms and there are zero terms allowing them to continue services or payments after the contract terms are fulfilled. I have called them several times. They refuse to look at the contract and acknowledge that it is not an opened ended subscription etc. They do acknowledge that the contract ended in April. However, they also said many customer choose to continue their services. I explained that I did not choose that, I didn't get notice of a visit to be able to say no, and I didn't authorize an additional charge to my card outside of the contract. They say a manager will call me back, but they do not. I filed a dispute with my credit card company regarding the unauthorized charge. My credit card company says that they fail to respond to their request to provide documentation of the charge being authorized. I have explained to Ecoshield that they are fraudulently charging my card. I also sent Ecoshield a copy of my contract via email so they may review after they claimed they do not have a copy. There has been zero response. I filed a complaint with Illinois consumer protection as I believe they are violating Illinois door-to-door laws as well as other contract laws and am awaiting their response. I have told Ecoshield that they must respond to both the dispute and complaint yet they fail to do so. I have also told them in writing to cease and desist with contacting me for said unauthorized payment. Instead, they send me threatening texts and calls for payment on a claimed service that was not part of the contract or authorized. When you try to call someone local, you are always routed to another country where there are language barriers and they do not have access to anything but a script. I have advised them that I may seek redress in small claims court for harassment, fraud, etc and requested a letter stating the my contract was fulfilled and that I am paid in full as I rightfully am. We shall see if I need to go that far and I certainly will as it seems someone needs to stop this company from preying on people. read more

Do not use this company. You will regret it. Each time Tech was only here for 10 minutes. Did not do a thorough job. Noticed no difference in pests. The tech was very friendly and efficient. My home has been pest/bug free almost 2 years now with the quarterly Serivce.

was solicited and told they were in the area servicing our neighbors. sales rep was very friendly and showed me some issues on my property which i appreciated, so i signed up and the sales rep told me they'd be back within a few hours after finishing work on a neighbor's home. i was very disappointed to find, upon looking them up after he'd left, that the business uses this line as a sales tactic and very boldfacedly lies. no shade to the rep, as i understand it's just a job for him, but any business that relies on tactics like that to draw in new customers is not one i trust long term. also had a very difficult cancellation process, requiring me to not call the company but the rep who signed me up (what? how does that make sense?) which i found a bit scummy as well. overall would suggest being wary. their pest control may be decent (i never found out) but their business practices aren't. read more

There are much more honorable and customer friendly companies out there, KEEP searching. Had two services done, which seemed to get done pretty quick. Noticed we were still having issues with pests and insects, called their customer service to make clear the issues we were still having, turns out they weren't servicing our house for the reasons we got the service in the first place. They denied and lied about what I was told and referred to contract 40 times. Charged $200 to cancel, that was their first response. Enough said. read more
