i should have visited Yelp but sometimes Yelp is bias when it comes to reviews as they have the habit of removing some reviews. Yes, the technicians are ok, they are young and fresh from high school or some still in college but the company itself is a scam. My wife got into talking to them and getting that service assuming just for that one applications but then the contract to your surprise will be for a year and if you cancel you pay $150. I just cancel it instead of spending $150 for another service then cancel and pay another $ 150. I just want them out of my sight plus their products never works...i have more spider webs inside the house than in the past... Please beware of this company and just say no when they try to reach out to you...save your $150 to something else... read more

Ecoshield is AWFUL!!! Their contract is a trap and their services do NOTHING. They schedule their own appointments and it's impossible to cancel. They make you pay $300 just to stop working with them and you have to sit on the phone for 2 hours to explain that you just want to cancel because they start talking in circles to try and get you to stay. I'll never use this company again. One of their sales reps also followed me to my bedroom when I didn't want to talk to him anymore. COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE! read more

I have had major issues with this service since joining them back in May. Having to call multiple times to make sure they are getting both the inside and outside of my house. Recently I paid $1100 to seal up my house from mice getting in and this is what the garage now looks like. It's worse than before! read more

I have given this company ample time to be effective but alas, I'm still finding gnarly pests in my home. Most of the technicians have been super friendly which is the only reason I feel ok giving them 1 star. read more

A door-to-door solicitor walked into our driveway and turned around to try to leave. It was really strange. When I hailed him down i asked what he wanted. He tried to pull the typical "I do your neighbor's pest control down the street and it's a lot cheaper if you sign up today while I'm here." When I asked for a business card he basically left without saying much more. Reading the other reviews it all makes sense: it's an MLM scheme and they teach these poor lads some high pressure sales techniques. "Just did your neighbor's" "It's a lot cheaper if you sign right now" "I have my business cards in the car and will be back with one" (never came back) Dumb read more

Very aggressive sales people. The salesperson lied about our neighbors signing up with him (I confirmed they did not) and then repeatedly came back to our property after I asked him not to. He completely disregarded the no soliciting sign on my door and my neighbors. Completely unprofessional and rude. They also talk very badly about their competition and try to sell you expensive annual contracts even if you do not need it. read more

Do not believe the EcoShield salesmen. They will lie to your face about doing 1 service free to get you to sign up. I was told the egg treatment was free if I sign up for quarterly service. Now my quarterly service somehow has 5 charges per year. They also won't let you cancel. Do not sign up with them unless you plan on paying more than you think and never cancelling. read more

We have a "No Soliciting" sign posted at our door. Not only are we not interested in being sold face-to-face, but we work from home, where our three dogs and our infant are. When someone rings our bell, especially during our workday, it's incredibly disruptive. Today, we had a sales rep from EcoShield stop by to sell us. He rang the bell, despite the sign, and woke our sleeping baby. Now, we get to spend the rest of the day with a crab who won't go back to sleep, while trying to juggle our own work. I get that everyone has a job to do, but "No Soliciting" signs are there so neither you, nor I, have our time wasted. In ignoring one, it's considered trespassing. My husband spoke to our village, and it appears that EcoShield did not properly register with the village for a permit for door-to-door sales, which is required in our community. Please, be respectful of people's homes and private property! I've worked in sales myself, and it's difficult, but don't waste your own time AND disrupt someone's privacy in their home when they've explicitly asked you not to be there. read more

First service was fine. Second service the tech did not knock on the door so they could not come inside to do the windows, which was the only reason I hired them. They would not refund the visit. When I tried to cancel future visits, they wanted to charge another $150 on top of the $150 I paid for the visit where they didn't come inside. It is impossible to get on the phone with them. I have reported them to BBB, but I really just want to let them keep the $150 i paid for the service they didn't complete and not pay another $150 to part ways. I would consider staying with them but it's been so hard to work this out that I just can't imagine doing it again with any other issue. Edit to respond to business response: This response is not consistent with what the salesperson told me. I told him that my concern was spiders inside our window wells and that we really had no other problems. He never said that the inside service was a complimentary add on and was not actually the service I was buying. I would not have bought it if the sales guy explained it the way the company is now. I also don't know what else I could have done to tell them prior to scheduling. I mentioned it to the sales guy when he was there and the tech on the first visit. They scheduled the second visit automatically and texted me that they were coming. So no real other opportunity to talk in advance of that. Like I said in my initial review - just a very difficult company to deal with that I wish I had avoided from the start. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Anthony trespassed into my back yard to discuss his services and then had me sign up "to get me in the system" before I discussed with my wife. Hours later, his crew came out unannounced to perform the first job, and unapproved. The next day, bugs and rodents were still there. He kept saying to call the office to get more visits for free, but the office barely speaks English (overseas) and is of no help. It took me hours to cancel as they are very stubborn. Now he is trying to charge me a $189 cancel fee. Very unprofessional owner and call center. Go elsewhere for your needs. read more

Responded to a door to door salesman, signed a contract with a discount fee for initial visit every subsequent visit was 200.00 a bit pricey to have someone spray for spiders around my perimeter and wipe away spider webs by the door. I reconsidered the service and went to cancel further services which were scheduled out to thru December. A wasteful service since we usually have extremely cold temps and insects are non-existent. Eco-Shield charged me an additional 200.00 to cancel my service. Short sighted sales tactic. The service that was being provided was rudementary at best - spraying at opening of garage and around the front and back door. Pricey for 200.00 Something to think about when signing up with this company. Additionally, if you were to have any other pest concerns it's an additional fee. I didn't need to spend $600 for bug protection in October, November or December with temperatures that usually reach 30-40 degrees. Something to think about. read more

Salesman (Sean Shannon) is a liar and don't ever let him sell you. We hired them for mice abatement for a beautiful large home in Skokie. Had it not been for ethical techniciansof Ecoshield, thousands of dollars of damage would have been done to our house. My strongest recommendation is do not use EcoShield and certainly don't use Sean Shannon who is a walking fraudster. John from Skokie, IL read more

This is a scam company. When they failed to provide service, we attempted to cancel our subscription. They openly refused to cancel. Predatory company. read more

Poor customer service. We received treatment around our home and tree which had carpenter ants. Following the first treatment, the ants moved inside our home. They came a second time to spray / eliminate outdoor nests and the indoor infestation has worsened. I requested cancellation of contract as we don't want pesticides/further treatments inside our home. The customer care representative argued for 30 minutes that we were under contract and could not cancel without penalty. We are not recommending EcoShield to our friends and neighbors. read more

This guy - Lucas showed up at our door proposing we could try their service and cancel at any time. When we tried to cancel, they want to charge us $150 - the cost of the "discount" they gave us for the first treatment. This company is a total scam. Save yourself the headache and find someone else. read more

One of the sales rep pitched the service as an ANNUAL subscription service not a quarterly one, however once the second service was done I noticed they charged my account once again at a higher price. It's as if they aren't transparent with their payment details. When I called to ask about it the person on the other line pretended that he couldn't hear me despite having a whole conversation prior. It also costs money to cancel so overall this business seems more like entrapment. read more

BEWARE!! DO NOT GET INTO BUSINESS WITH ECOSHIELD!!! TERRIBLE JOB and CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were out of town when ECOSHIELD did their very first service on our home. There was a card left on our door saying the Service was completed. However upon inspection the WASP nest that is in our corner roof is still there. It was a pretty obvious WASP Nest as it was even pointed out by the ECOSHEILD Route Manager (Connor) when they were selling their service to me (Saying that they will take care of that). However, since the person who came and did the service did not remove it, I assumed that NO-SERVICE was done. I got in touch with the Route Manager to complain and he said that they will send someone out to address the current week. However after a week, nobody came and no one even reached out to us to re-schedule the service. I WAS SO DISSAPOINTED AND ANGRY with the Service (or lack of) that as done, so I decided to terminate the service. However with the 1 year contract that was signed, and even after already paying the initial $200 for the "Non-Service", I got a NEW bill for additional $300 with is the discount that was subtracted for the "Service". BUYER beware and it is not WORTH the paying $200+ per quarter with a VERY VERY POOR SERVICE (OR NON-SERVICE). Bottom line is, I am now out $500+ and I still have a WASP PROBLEM!!! read more

COMPLETE SCAM! I really think they spray water down and charge $200. I had more bugs in my house after they showed up for their second treatment than before I had showed up at my door. I asked for them not to come back and to cancel my service. they are going to charge me an additional $200 to cancel my service. DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS! read more

Don't waste your money they knock on your door saying that your neighbors pest control company and they wanted to give you a discount because they're already in the neighborhood 170 bucks and if you don't like the work you can cancel anytime no charge they tell you to sign on the iPad for them to be able to work on the property but don't tell you a contract for two years and to cancel the contract. It's 231 bucks. I spent 610 bucks for work. I could've done myself. And probably done a better job. read more

Axel, I called your office every week asking to talk to a manager about your very poor service and of course no one available to speak to. Now your trying to back pedal you had many opportunities to do this right and you decided not to! The consumers doesn't need a shade company to choose from. Trust me stay away from Eco shield nothing good about them. It just a matter of time till there out of business. read more

John did an amazing job. Seemed very hard working. Actively sprayed multiple areas in the house that were problem spots and did not try to get out of work. Some of the technicians display a lack of interest in the job and barely spray much. John was very engaging and actively made an effort to ensure he addressed not only problem locations but even spots that have not been as bothersome in the house. My wife and I were very happy with John and hope he continues to service our house as he did a tremendous job. Overall we have been happy with ecoshield. The good thing about them is they have their guarantee so even if we see bugs they always come out free of charge subsequently. Have not had that many pests overall though. Happy with them. read more

I have to say this is the first time I've ever written a review. As others mentioned, do not fall for the door-to-door salesman. The contract is long and they will trap you into a year agreement that is costly. The techs had to cancel on me several times and when I tried canceling my contract since the techs were never on-time, they slapped a heavy cancellation fee on me. Stay away from this service provider - they don't understand customer service at all. read more

Jovanni did a great job. He even pointed out some areas that I had missed and he delt with my problem with a nest of very angry ground bees. Thank you EcoShield. read more

Total scam. My salesperson, Samer, did not allow me to read through the contract I signed even though I said I needed to think about it and talk to my husband. He said there was no penalty to breaching said contract or changing my mind. Now I owe over $200 for a service I didn't receive. I will, in fact, be getting pest control services but will go absolutely anywhere but EcoShield. read more

Person who signed us up was not clear enough just look like he wanted to sell instead of informing us how much we're going to have to pay in the long run got the contract and assumed that when it says full initial services meant that was all we were going to pay turns out we were going to have to pay more for 2 years rather cancel it for $150 then pay $179 every 3 months and my problem is never resolved. read more

Don't waist your money on them. I still see bugs everywhere, get an all natural products to take care of the bugs and a hose. They didn't tell us we signed a contract for 2 years when we signed up. Eco Shield is the best!! I called Eco Shield after finding evidence of mice in my basement. This company charges less for their every other month fees but it includes nothing. They do an inspection for anything you find inside or outside your house and then want to charge you an additional $500 to treat it. They have poor customer service and once you start you have a long contract time. Stay away from them. read more

Service is spotty and inconsistent over the past 18 months. Employees on site have ranged from pleasant and professional to argumentative and dismissive. Why do I need to push to get service to the extend that I paid for and was told we would get? Unfortunately, with multiple bad experiences there is no reason to keep our business with this company. Based on other reviews, this is a status quo and not a one-off experience. read more

Over priced. Bad service. Our pest problem is worse now than it was before I signed up. I've killed more bugs on my own than they have

The door to door sales person lied to me and did not tell me the entirety of what the service was. They withhold information from you on purpose to get you stuck in a contract and steal your money. I called to cancel and asked 5 times to cancel and even gave a counter offer of what I would be willing to pay to keep the service going they said no. So I asked a 6th time to cancel and they finally did for a $201 cancel fee. They have horrible customer service and scummy sales folks selling their service. No one should support companies like this. read more

My husband didn't realized we'd used them before and had cancelled our service because of lack of availability to retreat when ants would be in our house between quarterly appts. A sales guy came by while I was gone this week and told him they'd never serviced our property when they had as recently as April 2023. Dishonest or disorganized of them? They won't let me cancel on the phone or my husband cancel via email (he's tied up at a work event all day). They told him they'd cancel our other pest control for us and I got a recording of that cancellation where the man pretended to be me (a woman), using my name, and lied about "us doing the pest control ourselves." They want to charge us to cancel our contract early. I believe impersonating me and to cancel another company and then not letting me cancel with them has to be highly illegal and certainly unethical. read more

DO NOT use Echo Shield! We entered a contract with them for general maintenance around our home to keep it pest free. Eco Shield recommended that we remove all of our old insulation in the basement and replace it with new insulation as it appeared to have signs of pests (mice) from the previous owners that had occupied the home. We agreed and spent over $1,800 on the service. The technician that came out was by himself. He came in with all his supplies and left with all of his supplies including any garbage that needed to be removed that of which included the old insulation. My father in law was onsite to monitor and update my wife and I as to the progress. My father in law also offered to lend a hand and help with taking out the garbage after he had completed the job. The technician was adamant that he and only he handle the garbage. My father in law thought it was strange that he did not want any help but never the less did not argue and or insist on helping further. A few days later I noticed a pair of shoes missing from my storage space where I keep them. I do LOVE shoes and have some VERY nice pairs! When I could not find the specific pair I was looking for I just thought maybe they were somewhere else in the house. I decided to wear another pair, but couldn't find that pair either, weird. I continued to inspect my shoe collection in the storage portion of our basement where the technician spent the majority of his time only to find out I was MISSING 4 pairs of shoes totally over $700 in retail...that does not account for buying them from a third party retailer! Nobody outside of my immediate family had been in our basement. Eco Shield refused to pay for the stolen shoes. They refused to refund us any money from the services they performed. We have since ceased working with them and terminated our contract. BOTTOM LINE IS...THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM! I should note, this matter is STILL under police investigation as I did file a police report against Eco Shield! read more

Highly recommend Ecoshield for your needs, they came to my door saying they had a good deal going on and I originally didn't care. The gentleman said he could at least do an inspection to check out my yard, so I let him. Ecoshield took care of all my needs and recommend anyone to use them as well. read more
