A door-to-door solicitor walked into our driveway and turned around to try to leave. It was really strange. When I hailed him down i asked what he wanted. He tried to pull the typical "I do your neighbor's pest control down the street and it's a lot cheaper if you sign up today while I'm here." When I asked for a business card he basically left without saying much more. Reading the other reviews it all makes sense: it's an MLM scheme and they teach these poor lads some high pressure sales techniques. Total scam. My salesperson, Samer, did not allow me to read through the contract I signed even though I said I needed to think about it and talk to my husband. He said there was no penalty to breaching said contract or changing my mind. Now I owe over $200 for a service I didn't receive. Very aggressive sales people. The salesperson lied about our neighbors signing up with him (I confirmed they did not) and then repeatedly came back to our property after I asked him not to. He completely disregarded the no soliciting sign on my door and my neighbors. Completely unprofessional and rude. They also talk very badly about their competition and try to sell you expensive annual contracts even if you do not need it. read more

The door to door sales person lied to me and did not tell me the entirety of what the service was. They withhold information from you on purpose to get you stuck in a contract and steal your money. I called to cancel and asked 5 times to cancel and even gave a counter offer of what I would be willing to pay to keep the service going they said no. So I asked a 6th time to cancel and they finally did for a $201 cancel fee. They have horrible customer service and scummy sales folks selling their service. We have a "No Soliciting" sign posted at our door. Not only are we not interested in being sold face-to-face, but we work from home, where our three dogs and our infant are. When someone rings our bell, especially during our workday, it's incredibly disruptive. Today, we had a sales rep from EcoShield stop by to sell us. He rang the bell, despite the sign, and woke our sleeping baby. Now, we get to spend the rest of the day with a crab who won't go back to sleep, while trying to juggle our own work. I get that everyone has a job to do, but "No Soliciting" signs are there so neither you, nor I, have our time wasted. In ignoring one, it's considered trespassing. My husband spoke to our village, and it appears that EcoShield did not properly register with the village for a permit for door-to-door sales, which is required in our community. Please, be respectful of people's homes and private property! I've worked in sales myself, and it's difficult, but don't waste your own time AND disrupt someone's privacy in their home when they've explicitly asked you not to be there. read more

My husband didn't realized we'd used them before and had cancelled our service because of lack of availability to retreat when ants would be in our house between quarterly appts. A sales guy came by while I was gone this week and told him they'd never serviced our property when they had as recently as April 2023. Dishonest or disorganized of them? They won't let me cancel on the phone or my husband cancel via email (he's tied up at a work event all day). They told him they'd cancel our other pest control for us and I got a recording of that cancellation where the man pretended to be me (a woman), using my name, and lied about "us doing the pest control ourselves." They want to charge us to cancel our contract early. I believe impersonating me and to cancel another company and then not letting me cancel with them has to be highly illegal and certainly unethical. read more

First service was fine. Second service the tech did not knock on the door so they could not come inside to do the windows, which was the only reason I hired them. They would not refund the visit. When I tried to cancel future visits, they wanted to charge another $150 on top of the $150 I paid for the visit where they didn't come inside. It is impossible to get on the phone with them. I have reported them to BBB, but I really just want to let them keep the $150 i paid for the service they didn't complete and not pay another $150 to part ways. I would consider staying with them but it's been so hard to work this out that I just can't imagine doing it again with any other issue. Edit to respond to business response: This response is not consistent with what the salesperson told me. I told him that my concern was spiders inside our window wells and that we really had no other problems. He never said that the inside service was a complimentary add on and was not actually the service I was buying. I would not have bought it if the sales guy explained it the way the company is now. I also don't know what else I could have done to tell them prior to scheduling. I mentioned it to the sales guy when he was there and the tech on the first visit. They scheduled the second visit automatically and texted me that they were coming. So no real other opportunity to talk in advance of that. Like I said in my initial review - just a very difficult company to deal with that I wish I had avoided from the start. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. They signed us up for a 24-month contract, with a 100% guarantee for listed bugs and free follow-up visits. Within months, they obviously could not control the bugs and gave multiple excuses. Calling the local service office, they initially sent a follow service, but this did not fix anything. I requested another follow-up, and they refused, advising me that these bugs were not covered under the contract. They very nicely advised that I could buy Dawn detergent and treat myself. These bugs were included, but no further follow-up visits. Later, I called the HQ to cancel the service as they did not meet the contract terms and failed to control the bugs. The HQ agreed to close with no fees. Since then, my wife has received dozens of calls and text messages advising us to pay a $250 cancellation as they had not completed three follow-up appointments per the contract's terms. I called and informed them they refused to send anyone, but this was not good enough, and we would have to pay. To prevent us from being sent to collections, we have paid, but we want to warn anyone else: First, do NOT use them; second, if you have already signed up, make sure you call HQ every time, not local service. Be warned, these are not good business practices but expensive conmen. read more

I wish I had the money or Home Owners Insurance covered it b/c I would use them regardless of what everyone is saying and here is why: 1.) Very affordable the whole house inside and out $179. the great price they would even do the shed for free getting rid of all spiders, ants, bees, wasps, and bugs. 2.) Very knowledgeable and friendly Sam took the time to explain everything. He said what they use is eco-safe and safe for pets and kids. 3.) Not pushy at all I told him I'd have to let my dad know he asked if we could get in touch right now and I told him he was working. So he gave me his business card. 4.) Yes he said he was out of Columbus Ohio and doing the whole neighborhood well that makes sense to me. He said after the 1st treatment they would keep up with coming back in 90 days. He said they have to get rid of the parents and then the offspring from them which again makes perfect sense. I had huge big black ants in my cupboard where the sugar and baking supplies are. My mom told me to put a dryer sheet in there and that did the trick gone. I know you can use Citrus and Eucalyptus and other safe home methods to get rid of bugs. Since I don't have the extra money that is what I am doing presently. I wish I could afford to have an exterminating company come out. John did an amazing job. Seemed very hard working. Actively sprayed multiple areas in the house that were problem spots and did not try to get out of work. Some of the technicians display a lack of interest in the job and barely spray much. John was very engaging and actively made an effort to ensure he addressed not only problem locations but even spots that have not been as bothersome in the house. My wife and I were very happy with John and hope he continues to service our house as he did a tremendous job. Overall we have been happy with ecoshield. The good thing about them is they have their guarantee so even if we see bugs they always come out free of charge subsequently. Have not had that many pests overall though. My initial treatment Derek and another technician was very successful. They were very professional and thorough noting every issue or potential issue. They provided detail information of what they were doing and the product they were using. Also, offered suggestions in reducing pests in troubled areas. He explained how their service works going forward, and several times mentioned to call in between service if I have any issues. It's been 7 days since my initial treatment and do not have any related issues or seen any pests. So far, their service is top notch. read more

ZERO STARS. I had just moved to the neighborhood and they gave me the spiel of "a neighborly discount in the area" and I fell for it. This was back in 2022. I signed my life over to a contract I had no idea what I was getting into. "Just sign here on this tablet" I thought cool, no more bugs everywhere. I was wrong. Very wrong. Very very very wrong. I still had bugs. Do not fall for this. Go to Ace and get yourself some killer and do it yourself. Please. It will save you thousands. I had asked to cancel my membership back in October but my contract wasn't "met" so I paid ahead so I did not have to have them come to my property anymore. Turns out. They didn't cancel back in December. They came again a few months later and entered my yard. I had called and saying they are trespassing and harassing me and my family. I am so F******** SICK of this. I have said SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO LEAVE ME ALONE AND STOP HARRASSMENT. IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT I DO NOT WANT THEIR SERVICES. They call every other day and they come to my property multiples times a month. I now owed 500 dollars? For what. services I did not want? I had an inspection appt made for a Saturday, they called me and let me know they no longer were coming, could they come on Monday, I said no, I want my husband home. So they made a new appt for the following Saturday. He never showed up and you can't get through to them on the weekend apparently. We changed our schedules to accommodate this and will now be cancelling our service. read more

On my quarterly review there were bugs coming into the house. The pest control person came in and only sprayed the inside where they knew I was at. After that, they left never doing the outside of the house, this had no effect on the bugs. I called asking for a credit or redo, EcoShield was very unresponsive and I asked for a credit for the last quarterly payment. They were again unresponsive and I canceled my account. They charged me $260 cancellation fee and still haven't applied a credit. Now they are threatening collections against me. read more

Ecoshield is a scam. When they sold me a two-year contract they said I cancel at any time without penalty--but that since I was getting a $200 discount I would have to pay that back if I didn't pay for the first four sprayings. I have now paid for four sprayings, but when I tried to cancel my account today Ecoshield said they would bill me $200 for the discount, even after I explained what their salesman had told me. They said if I didn't pay the $200 within 90 days they would turn the matter over to a collection agency. Their service did no good as far as I could tell, they did not stand behind their salesman's promise and now they're threatening to have a collection agency pester me for the $200. Stick with a local company that provides good service, not this Las Vegas-based bunch of crooks. read more

Need urgent response due to roach infestation. After a number of calls to the main office (u cant call local office direct). Was told it would be over 2 wks. to get an inspection. Told the girl that wouldnt be acceptable and was disconnected before I could say anything more. The scheduler never called back. After 6 more calls to main office (they couldn't reach the local either). I was told a message was sent and someone would reach out to me in 24 to 48 hrs. On the 3rd day with no calls, I called main office to speak to supervisor. Same story, a message forwarded and someone would get back to me. After another 1 1/2 days, still no call. Cannot count on this service for timely response or service when you need it! I will not renew and advise others to avoid this company. read more

The salesman came to our door and gave us the usual high. Impressive sales pitch. I checked with my neighbor, and they said that the service was good, but would not be specific as to why. So I used my credit card to sign up and was supposed to be getting the substantial discount. Man came out and he did not even do a complete job. they sent out a second Man, who was no better than the first. But they did charge me again for a second visit. then they sent out someone that was supposed to check the garage. Nothing was done there either but yet I was once again charged another fee of over $100. Supposedly any returns to my property was supposed to be at no charge. after four men coming out to my house supposedly to service my house I still have a severe ant problem. The mice issue is still a concern. I texted the sales rep back and advised him that I wanted a refund for the entire situation and to cancel my service. The only response I got was that they were sorry I was not satisfied and they would cancel the service. but of course nothing about refunds. It appears that all this company is interested in is taking our money. If I ran my business this way, I would be out of business and it saddens me that these people can even go home at night and lay their head down and have no concerns or regrets for the way people are treated. Echo Shield is a scam and their salesman are Con-Artist. They come to your door stating they are working in your area offering a discount on a 1 time service. Salesman signed me up for an annual service and I was not aware. When the salesman was asked is this a one time service he said "Yes" this was a lie. Salesman said their products were safe for people and pets, this also is a lie. I had birds dying right after they applied their product and had more bugs. It was not until I called the CS Department I was told they would charge $300 to cancel their service after they were paid $300 already for product that did not work. This company is awful! Horrible service!! Impossible to cancel. I was charged for first service the tech did not do what he explained he was going to do. I called and sent emails with pictures. I was told the techs were fired and someone would come out and correct the problem... instead they sent someone out and charged me for a second service. I tried to cancel and they want to charge me 250.00 on top of the 320.00 they already took from me. This company is almost impossible to deal with. Avoid this company. They're scamming people. After recently moving back home from Arizona, we fell for the tactic that they serviced my neighbors property. This being a far damper climate than Tucson, we figured there would be a lot more bugs so we signed up for one years service with a quarterly charge. They have some quirk they struggle to explain where you pay five times instead of four when there are clearly only four quarters in a year. The first guy that came out did a great job. He knocked down multiple new wasp nests and put down some insecticide inside and outside the property. We noticed a difference the first quarter. Second quarter rolled around and a different guy shows up to do the quarterly treatment. All he did was knock on the door and then stand in the driveway on his phone for a bit before leaving after doing nothing. Naturally, we had a noticeable increase in spiders, crickets, etc. Third quarter rolled around and I decided to cancel. We sucked it up and paid the $250 cancellation fee rather than pay them three more quarterly payments of $219 for doing nothing. They tried to get me to change my mind after admitting they had a problem with the last guy not doing the treatments, resulting in his termination. In order to entice me to stay, they first offered $15 off this quarterly treatment. I laughed at that explaining that they know the last guy didn't do the treatment yet took my $219. They'd have to offer me at least $219 to get me to stay. She then proceeds to offer me 50% off, which I declined reiterating being already taken for $219. No further offer was given and I gladly cancelled my service. In total, we paid $688 for one bug treatment. You won't find a more expensive exterminator around that won't exterminate anything other than several hundred dollars from your bank account. Save yourself the hassle and just go to Home Depot and buy some concentrated Hot Shot, get a sprayer and spray the perimeter of your house. This is what we did in Arizona and it worked very well. This is what I should have continued to do after moving here and will do moving forward. $8 a bottle every quarter versus $219. This was an expensive lesson for us. Learn from our mistake and don't give this company a penny of your hard earned money. read more
