Carlos is my hero. I signed up for the service and then read some bad reviews. I thought i had been foolish. However, the service people that treated my house appeared thorough. Then today, Carlos came for my service and removed and treated a humongous hornet nest on my upper floor window. -I had no idea it was there. I am very allergic and could die if stung. I was told that they would remove the old insulation, vacuum up any mouse, poop, clean the closet, and have it wiped down, and then reinstall new insulation. First of all, the guy shows up an hour and a half late and doesn't even bring a vacuum. He then has to drive back to the office to get another vacuum, proceeds to do the job... But then, when I inspected it, after he left, I still find mouse poop all over the sub pump room! When I called customer service to ask how this could happen, they had the nerve to tell me that mouse poop cleanup was not included in my service. A salesperson came to my door shortly after I moved in. Since I hadn't found a pest control company yet I decided to go with them because of their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Well after a few months and a couple of treatments pests such as ants and spiders were present. When I called they said they would send someone out for additional treatments. Still the problem continued. After several calls and promises to fix the problem they told me that it takes awhile for the treatments to take effect. I then explained that this was unacceptable after 9 months and hired someone else. Problem solved Now they want $250 cancellation fee and started harassing phone calls. STAY. AWAY! I would give 0 stars if I could. Anthony trespassed into my back yard to discuss his services and then had me sign up "to get me in the system" before I discussed with my wife. Hours later, his crew came out unannounced to perform the first job, and unapproved. The next day, bugs and rodents were still there. He kept saying to call the office to get more visits for free, but the office barely speaks English (overseas) and is of no help. It took me hours to cancel as they are very stubborn. Responded to a door to door salesman, signed a contract with a discount fee for initial visit every subsequent visit was 200.00 a bit pricey to have someone spray for spiders around my perimeter and wipe away spider webs by the door. I reconsidered the service and went to cancel further services which were scheduled out to thru December. A wasteful service since we usually have extremely cold temps and insects are non-existent. Eco-Shield charged me an additional 200.00 to cancel my service. Short sighted sales tactic. The service that was being provided was rudementary at best - spraying at opening of garage and around the front and back door. Pricey for 200.00 Something to think about when signing up with this company. Additionally, if you were to have any other pest concerns it's an additional fee. Poor customer service. We received treatment around our home and tree which had carpenter ants. Following the first treatment, the ants moved inside our home. They came a second time to spray / eliminate outdoor nests and the indoor infestation has worsened. I requested cancellation of contract as we don't want pesticides/further treatments inside our home. DO NOT use Echo Shield! We entered a contract with them for general maintenance around our home to keep it pest free. Eco Shield recommended that we remove all of our old insulation in the basement and replace it with new insulation as it appeared to have signs of pests (mice) from the previous owners that had occupied the home. We agreed and spent over $1,800 on the service. The technician that came out was by himself. He came in with all his supplies and left with all of his supplies including any garbage that needed to be removed that of which included the old insulation. My father in law was onsite to monitor and update my wife and I as to the progress. My father in law also offered to lend a hand and help with taking out the garbage after he had completed the job. The technician was adamant that he and only he handle the garbage. My father in law thought it was strange that he did not want any help but never the less did not argue and or insist on helping further. A few days later I noticed a pair of shoes missing from my storage space where I keep them. I do LOVE shoes and have some VERY nice pairs! When I could not find the specific pair I was looking for I just thought maybe they were somewhere else in the house. I decided to wear another pair, but couldn't find that pair either, weird. I continued to inspect my shoe collection in the storage portion of our basement where the technician spent the majority of his time only to find out I was MISSING 4 pairs of shoes totally over $700 in retail...that does not account for buying them from a third party retailer! Nobody outside of my immediate family had been in our basement. Eco Shield refused to pay for the stolen shoes. They refused to refund us any money from the services they performed. We have since ceased working with them and terminated our contract. BOTTOM LINE IS...THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM! We very rarely have any issues with bugs and even though I know we can call it usually ends up being an issue just before our next service appointment so I don't bother to call to have them come out. Every time I deal with them I become more angry. I started out having to haggle a rate because they don't give quotes and try to get max value from each customer. Terrible business model. They ring your doorbell to get you to sign up. Worse business model. So the first visit was fine. They knocked down some cobwebs and sprayed some chemicals. The next time I put in the notes I had a big wasp nest on my shed. They acknowledged the notes but left the wasps nest. They come back for free and ignore the wasp nest again. Third visit the tech specifically writes in the notes that he removed it. Silly me walks into my shed to find 20 living wasps in the shed. At this point they have violated their 3 visit satisfaction guaranteed pest and owe me a free quarter year of service. I am furious at this point. Visit four and they remove the nest. Then I call them and the girl on the phone offers me "half off" a visit. I told her how crazy it was I knew their agreement better than her! And they want to charge me a fee to cancel. There was a card left on our door saying the Service was completed. However upon inspection the WASP nest that is in our corner roof is still there. It was a pretty obvious WASP Nest as it was even pointed out by the ECOSHEILD Route Manager (Connor) when they were selling their service to me (Saying that they will take care of that). However, since the person who came and did the service did not remove it, I assumed that NO-SERVICE was done. I got in touch with the Route Manager to complain and he said that they will send someone out to address the current week. However after a week, nobody came and no one even reached out to us to re-schedule the service. I WAS SO DISSAPOINTED AND ANGRY with the Service (or lack of) that as done, so I decided to terminate the service. However with the 1 year contract that was signed, and even after already paying the initial $200 for the "Non-Service", I got a NEW bill for additional $300 with is the discount that was subtracted for the "Service". BUYER beware and it is not WORTH the paying $200+ per quarter with a VERY VERY POOR SERVICE (OR NON-SERVICE). Bottom line is, I am now out $500+ and I still have a WASP PROBLEM!!! read more

i should have visited Yelp but sometimes Yelp is bias when it comes to reviews as they have the habit of removing some reviews. Yes, the technicians are ok, they are young and fresh from high school or some still in college but the company itself is a scam. My wife got into talking to them and getting that service assuming just for that one applications but then the contract to your surprise will be for a year and if you cancel you pay $150. I just cancel it instead of spending $150 for another service then cancel and pay another $ 150. I just want them out of my sight plus their products never works...i have more spider webs inside the house than in the past...
