The sales people were very pushy and offered me a discount because they were "servicing my neighbors." This is completely false, the "discount" is actually a way for them to charge you a $400 cancellation fee if you do not cancel in the first 3 days of the contract. The service man then left my place without telling me he was finished, which meant my garage and front door were open for over an hour while I thought he was still working. DO NOT utilize this company. They are dishonest. read more

Tom is great! Represents the company well. Hope EcoShield recognizes this. Always thorough in his service and explains/reports what is happening. He has normally been our technician, and we appreciate the consistent and familiar service. read more

I tried cancelling after first visit. They only sprayed a few rooms in my house and left . I called the company and they said due to contract I had to continue with their service or pay a huge fine . They have been out 4 different times changing the day of appointment through text which we were unavailable. And only spraying the front of our house . We have no fence or pet that would cause them not to use the backyard . They never removed any wasp nest . When I called and asked why? they said they don't do that service. I told them after the 3 visits I no longer want their service. They came out an additional time and tried charging my expired credit card . They have now sent me into a collection agency . I've never been more disappointed. I never write bad reviews but in this situation I felt like I had been scammed. Do not use this company . read more

Total scam. Don't give them your business. Called to cancel after seeing a worsening in activity after 3 treatments and they repeatedly failed to schedule the "free follow-up treatments for 100% satisfaction." They lowered the cost to $109/treatment. To cancel my contract they said I owed them $150, which is the amount they discounted for the initial treatment.... They literally just make these numbers up! Now I'm liable to pay them $150 for a service they just valued at $109? If they offered me a $150 discount on a $109 service, wouldn't that mean they owe me $41? That'd be nice! Terrible business and I'm disappointed in myself for falling prey to their front door sales tactics. Leaving this review in hopes I can at least save the people who are smart enough to google their reviews before hiring them. read more

Please don't open the door to these predatory salesmen, it's a scam. They will talk you into a contract with half truths and then misinform you that you can cancel. But the reality is if you do not cancel in writing within 3 day they will charge you a cancellation fee of $200 dollars. the unscrupulous tactic here is that they will try to push out your next sales call "to answer your questions" past the cancellation window to lock you in They also don't inform the contract is for 2 years not 1 year. making the cost doubled. they make you sign on a small phone or tablet without being able to read the contract, then they have you confirm in the moment by text. this is why they are predatory. Do not sign anything. Do not provide a credit card. read more

I signed up for EcoShield very recently. When the tech came a couple days later, he threw granules over over our porch, driveway, entrance to our split level family room entrance. A huge mess. I contacted the sales person and told him I wanted to cancel the service but he came out and asked me if I had a broom to clean stuff up. He mostly cleaned things up but we have still tracked this stuff in the house and we found it on the paws of our cat and on the carpet in our bedroom. When I called to cancel this morning, the representative tried to keep me as a customer by offering a 50% discount. I persisted. It was difficult. I had to put my foot down. Very annoying. Then the charge came through while we were on the phone. I'll have to dispute it with my credit card company. Not good customer service! read more

Was told they would come after 4pm When I'm home from work by josh and also there's no cancelation, came and only did the front of the house and told me they can't Come after 4 and also charged 200 dollars to cancel. Also watch in the cameras or make sure you are home don't do what they claim! Beware of these attempted thieves. They door to door pressure you into a contract and then lie to your face about said contract. Was told if i discontinued service i would only be charged some extra chemicals they were going to spray and were only going to go bad anyway. They never used those chemicals so should be obligated to what was said by mouth 0. They set up their own schedule and attempts to change to a particular time repeats them setting up another appointment sooner. Scam artists. Had my payment removed from their file(have proof) admit they don't have it and then attempt to steal your credit card that is magically on file suddenly(have proof of them entering it on their own). STEER CLEAR unless you wish to have your information stolen possibly used and possibly sold. read more

Dear EcoShield. My understanding was that my pest problem would be taken care of. It has been an ongoing issue and "touchups" are not at all what I wanted. There were not represented as being constantly necessary by your sales person. They don't work anyway. I never would have signed up for your service if I had known that a.) it didn't do anything to cure the ants and spiders in my yard no matter how many times they came back or b.) that I was tied to a 7 year contract that I could never get out of no matter how useless the service was. Any legitimate business is concerned more about its customers than locking people into a contract that they could never get out of. Be away with your excuses as to how your company is anything other than an absolute scam. If I could rate with zero stars I would. read more

The worst, The treatments seemed to be effective, but that's not my issue with them. EcoShield is the worst because they engage in deceptive business practices. How? Well, see when they sign you up, and you ask "what if I cancel?", the salesman (whom I don't think l was responsible for this, TBH) will tell you that your first service discount will be your cancellation fee. Quarterly service is $179, first service was discounted to $129. $50 fee to cancel, fine. However, when I decided to cancel because we're planning some yard work and it didn't make sense to keep the service. Called to cancel....VERY DIFFICULT and an offshore call center (read: language barrier) so that was not awesome. I then find out that my cancellation fee is actually **$200**. Yeah, no. It seems that the tablet "contract" you sign can be altered, because I read it carefully before signing. Turns out the first service was changed to $329, this raising the fee from $50 to $200. I bear some of the blame for not thoroughly reading the invoices, but the recurring charges lined up with what I had been promised, so I didn't worry too much about it. Shame on me, but you can learn from my mistake. Choose a local vendor, not a franchise of a national company that engages in these types of practices. read more

Dishonest sales people and contract locks you in. $200 per service is charged for nothing effective. I have to cancel the service.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. It's completely a scam. Don't use them, otherwise, you will be trapped. When try to cancel multiple times no confirmation was sent. I had to go through several rounds to get cancellation done, they even told me that the representative I spoke with before was no longer working with the company, therefore, there's no records showing what we had agreed upon. I finally got out after making an extra payment. They only concern about how to squeeze money from your pocket. I never wrote a bad review on any one before, but this is an exception. Don't do business with them. otherwise you will go through what I have went through - a horrible experience. read more

A salesperson came to my door shortly after I moved in. Since I hadn't found a pest control company yet I decided to go with them because of their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Well after a few months and a couple of treatments pests such as ants and spiders were present. When I called they said they would send someone out for additional treatments. Still the problem continued. After several calls and promises to fix the problem they told me that it takes awhile for the treatments to take effect. I then explained that this was unacceptable after 9 months and hired someone else. Problem solved Now they want $250 cancellation fee and started harassing phone calls. STAY. AWAY! There are plenty of respectable services out there. read more

0 star company with horrible customer Service. I paid this company to clean out our sub pump closet after we discovered, some mice were in there. I was told that they would remove the old insulation, vacuum up any mouse, poop, clean the closet, and have it wiped down, and then reinstall new insulation. First of all, the guy shows up an hour and a half late and doesn't even bring a vacuum. He then has to drive back to the office to get another vacuum, proceeds to do the job... But then, when I inspected it, after he left, I still find mouse poop all over the sub pump room! When I called customer service to ask how this could happen, they had the nerve to tell me that mouse poop cleanup was not included in my service. I regret ever calling this company and would never recommend them. read more

Horrible and a straight scam! I had a man come to my house and give me the great intro in how they work and all I have to do is pay a fee of $189 and it would cover me for over a few months and I could cancel anytime. That was a lie. As soon as I signed the man stated I would have to pay again to have them come out after I just paid $189! He was like oh, I'm sorry I didn't mention that, I'm like wth! Right away I should have known. Still have a insect problem, then when I stated that I want to cancel, now I being charged $200!? Are you serious?! That was never told to me. Yes, its partly my fault for not reading the whole contract and actually trusting a company to do what they say with no scams. Horrible. Now I have a balance over $300!!! Seriously a joke. So disappointed! I will also leave reviews on every platform I can! Even reading the other complaints on the BBB or yelp, almost everyone is mentionong the sme thing, scamming on what's promised, the over charges, still insect issues not taken care of. read more

Absolute GARBAGE company.. made the mistake of signing up for a contract with a door to door sales guy. NEVER AGAIN. Would give 0 stars if I could. DO. NOT. WASTE. YOUR. MONEY. If you have bugs go to Home Depot/Menards and get over the counter solutions. Technicians are either weirdos/not professional, customer service is India based, and you spend $100-150 EVERY TIME some random guy comes and sprays your house and shakes random crap on the ground that takes him 10 minutes MAX. These people should be ashamed of themselves, if they come to your door SEND THE GUY AWAY. TRUST ME! Your wallet will thank you! read more

It's just a rip. The reoccurring treatments are fine, but when you run into an issue where you really need their help (ie mice in the crawl space) they're literally good for nothing but a bill ($500+). FRAUD... DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD!! I did give them my credit card and then immediately had massive fraud on my account. They claimed they came to my house to treat it and I saw zero evidence that they did and saw no change to the pests ... lots of spiders. I think this is a fraudulent service that just wants to get debit/credit cards commit some fraud and then try to extort money out of you when you cancel their service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

These guys came by our house three times this summer, telling us that our neighbors have hired them to take care of their ant problems. They are super aggressive. We said no each time and guess what I found outside our garage, on the alley side? You guessed it...a HUGE ant hill/dirt mound. When I blew it away, the ants started biting my ankles. Never in Illinois have I been bitten by an ant! And, we have never had an ant problem in the garage. I know ants are everywhere, but I find it odd that now we have an ant problem. I have read that these guys plant ant eggs around the homes that don't hire them. Is our new ant issue a coincidence? Maybe, or maybe not. read more

I would give the con artist's 0 stars if I could. This fast talking kid came to the house and go my husband to agree to let them do the house. He said that after the first 2 services we could cancel at any time. Putting powder on the outside of the house in the winter is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of. Now they can we have to do this 3 more times before we can cancel the service. What a bunch of crooks. Throw a little powder down next to the house and say you will have no more bugs. What liars. Response from Axel- Business Manager to contact directly was a "Fake" attempt to show compassion, eventually the customer feedback team did a "Fake" biased review of the account with selective notes in their system and still no call back I was promised within 24 hrs back in Feb 2024 stating that I haven't provided any eligible reason, I guess been unemployed for 6 Mos is not a good enough reason for this company. We've had EcoShield for about a year now. Their staff is always very helpful and thorough. We very rarely have any issues with bugs and even though I know we can call it usually ends up being an issue just before our next service appointment so I don't bother to call to have them come out. Where should I start? , it is more of a scam than a business. They have all the walk-in sales teams with all pushy methods. I agreed to use their service once and if I like to continue, well two guys showed for it and they for sure were not happy about what they do. Just walked around and moved their hand like zombies and left, I called to cancel the service and now I owe them a $150 cancellation fee. Every time I deal with them I become more angry. I started out having to haggle a rate because they don't give quotes and try to get max value from each customer. Terrible business model. They ring your doorbell to get you to sign up. Worse business model. So the first visit was fine. They knocked down some cobwebs and sprayed some chemicals. The next time I put in the notes I had a big wasp nest on my shed. They acknowledged the notes but left the wasps nest. They come back for free and ignore the wasp nest again. Third visit the tech specifically writes in the notes that he removed it. Silly me walks into my shed to find 20 living wasps in the shed. At this point they have violated their 3 visit satisfaction guaranteed pest and owe me a free quarter year of service. I am furious at this point. Visit four and they remove the nest. Then I call them and the girl on the phone offers me "half off" a visit. I told her how crazy it was I knew their agreement better than her! And they want to charge me a fee to cancel. Im taking the free visit, then calling to cancel afterwards. You've been warned on them. read more
