Let me add another five star review. We called Economy Locksmith midmorning and, by midafternoon the same day, we had an appointment. Hoon, the proprietor, began work immediately after returning with the necessary parts. He worked quickly and efficiently, and did a great job of replacing two locks on outdoor iron gates. He also was able to fix a couple of other exterior locks that we assumed he would have to disassemble, if not replace. His price was fair, considering the working time, travel, and parts cost that contributed to the bill. While we hope not to need a locksmith in the future, we'll call Economy Locksmith first if we do. read more

A door inside the house was locked and we couldn't find the key to get in. Called this number and the nice man who also speaks Mandarin came within the hour and got the job done within minutes! I made my daughter pay for it, because she locked herself out of her own room when I've told her to never lock that door! The price is likely double elsewhere and definitely would need much longer wait time. It's a no brainer to get help here for locksmith issues in SF. read more

I'm a top Realtor in San Francisco and keys and locks are the bane of my profession! There's always something going wrong. We had a true emergency -- a door that would neither close nor open. Called for service and Hoon said he was able to come out that day but we were busy and we scheduled for him to come out the next day. He came on time. My worst nightmare happened: both my significant other and I ran out of our apartment without our keys and we didn't realize it until after we returned from Trader Joes. Locked out in the torrential rain, Economy Locksmith was recommended by our landlord. Hoon arrived quickly and helped us back into our home within minutes! Hoon is a complete gem and locksmith magician. Reasonably priced, especially for the City and for an emergency situation. Stop looking now and give Hoon a call! read more

I wish I had Hoon's number or rather the neighbors did of the people I babysit for. It would have saved me a huge headache and my pocket book. He's also quick, professional and does a really nice job. Instead I had the misfortune of being locked out of the house whilst 2 young children were inside a while back. I had to go over to the neighbors to request help, a little while later a locksmith that wasn't economy locksmith showed up - worked at trying to open the door and when he couldn't needed to drill the lock and get a new one for me. Unfortunately this cost me a pretty penny (lots of pretty pennies) and as a babysitter I already don't have that kind of money, let alone for a house that's not even mine. Fast forward less than two weeks later, the lock broke and the other locksmith couldn't be contacted. Hence where Hoon comes into play, he came over in the evening - fixed the cylinder that kept spinning and secured it into place. The best part, his pricing was reasonable and fair. I now realize how price gouged I was with the first locksmith. Do yourself a favor, tell your neighbors, friends and yourself to put Hoon's # in your phone now. Be proactive and have Hoon be your plan B. Also save yourself a potential headache and know that Hoon will do an excellent job and will be fair in his pricing. Thanks Hoon & Economy Locksmith for making a bad situation that was stressful a little better! read more

Our digital lock stopped working. Because of the mandated shelter in place, I was worried we wouldn't be able to find someone to help. Hoon was quick to diagnose and offer suggestions over the phone. I was able to fix my lock in minutes! Once this quarantine is over, I will definitely be reaching out again for future lock installations. Thank you so much! read more

Hoon was on time, extremely courteous and knowledgeable! He fixed my lock w great care and detail. I'll definitely ask him to fix my lock again next time! Great service! read more

I had to wiggle my keys to open my gate and front door. I also had to slam my front door very hard to close. I spoked with Hoon and scheduled a next day appointment. He came on time and gave me options with a very reasonable price. He didn't even charge me for somethings I asked him to do after he quoted me the price. I didn't expect him to work for free. I highly recommended Hoon and also told my friends about his great service. read more

Had to replace automatic door closer as it was not working properly w leaking oil on the front gate. Hon came out and tried to replace it with a new one but unfortunately did not have the right size. He then tried to adjust tension for temporary fix but didn't work either. Finally Hon just unlatched the two pieces and for now and will manually close and lock. All this work and he did not charge or accept and payment. Hon definitely is a gentleman and I will for sure use him next time. Highly recommend. read more

Fast, polite, and reasonable rates all things considered. Highly recommend Economy Locksmith.

You know when you're moving along smoothly, getting things done, and just having an all-around productive day, and then it just nose dives? That's my life. I had completely conquered my Christmas shopping, and had loaded all my bags into my trunk. As I drove myself back home, I joyfully sung my own simple version of "Oh, Christmas Tree", which soon became a full on medley of Chanti's Christmas Classics. My merriment continued as I parked my car and gathered my wallet, phone, and keys and headed to the trunk to unload my Holiday purchases. Let's make a long story short, the Grinch crawled into my trunk and pulled the valet lock, leaving me stranded in the rain (srsly) with all my Christmas gifts locked in my trunk only days before the big day. I soon found out that roadside assistance does next to nothing for lock issues, and had to resort to finding myself a decent and affordable locksmith. Economy Locksmith was incredible. Virtually all the locksmiths I called wanted me to spend close to $200 to get my trunk open. He did it for $70. He came to my house and did all the work in my driveway. To top it off, he was an incredibly nice guy. I highly recommend him to anyone who doesn't want to sell their first born child to get into their car. Comfort & Joy were restored. read more

Extremely professional, friendly, and humble. I had 2 locks re-keyed and a new deadbolt installed in no time. He even helped me align my door so it closed more smoothly at no additional cost. Super responsive and efficient. I will definitely be using them again for any future work. read more

Don't waste your time calling anyone else... Locked my keys in my room with all my belongings in tow but was completely shoeless. After phoning 4 other "locksmiths" in the Outer Sunset and failed attempts to have them arrive before 10am at 8am on a Monday morning--Hon came to the rescue within 15 minutes of me calling. He was friendly, fast, and empathetic to the start of my Manic Monday. read more

My friend had just moved into a new place in the Sunset and as we were leaving he grabbed the wrong set of keys, only to realize as soon as he shut the gate behind him. To put it simply, we were in a panic-there was no way of getting back in the house or calling anyone. It was past 6PM, the fog was starting to roll in getting cold and our phones were running low on battery-of course. Right away I went ahead and looked up a locksmith nearby to come by and help us out. Let me just say I expected to pay at least $150 because there was a gate and a door to unlock, not just one door, and to wait for a couple hours, but I was very pleasantly surprised. During this rough situation Economy Locksmith pulled through for me and came in the 30 minutes they quoted with an extremely friendly and quick working man that I wish I had gotten his name because he was truly a pleasure to work with. He had us back in the house within 15 minutes like the lock wizard he was. All we had to end up paying was $89 for the two doors and thats it, super simple, quick, and easy. I would recommend this locksmith to everyone in the area for the price, service, and friendly employees. Great experience during a stressful time. read more

A perfect experience! My situation was I was locked out of my bedroom at midnight in Outer Sunset (able to get into my house). Tried the windows, no luck. Tried gently kicking it down for a couple hours. Tried sleeping on the couch, too cold. At 4am I give in and call this place first. I explained my situation and he said "ok well, it's 4am so a hundred". I've little experience with locksmiths but from what I've read, and at this hour, it seemed reasonable, cheap even. He was here within the half hour (looking a little tired and I felt awful for probably waking him up) but still very cheerful, polite, and professional. Got my room opened in no time at all, then went to pay that flat hundred (card accepted thank goodness). I mentioned I might just change the lock and only then did he ask if I wanted a key for it for fifteen. Definitely! He goes back, gets his materials, makes a key pretty quickly, and even tightened up my doorknob just for the heck of it. Now I've got two keys for my room and a more secure door. Fully recommend this guy to anyone, I'm definitely not going to hurt myself trying to kick down a door and pick a lock for 3 hours again. read more

This guy really saved the day! I'm out of state for work and accidentally given my dog sitter the wrong key to my house. I wasn't able to find another locksmith who would take a credit card by phone, everyone else wanted cash, and also said they would require proof of residence, which would be impossible since I'm a state away. This gentleman told me he was in the East Bay on another job, and would be there in an hour and a half. He showed up exactly when promised, was able to make a copy of my key from a photo I took with my phone, and charged me a totally reasonable price. My poor dogs would be trapped if not for Economy Locksmith. I will be sleeping better tonight. read more

2nd time using Hoon to rekey my locks. He is honest, truth worthy and by far, the most professional locksmith out there. He came out to my house on time, explained the situation and got the job done! I am so glad I called Hoon of Economy Locksmith. My front door lock had become unreliable, sticking and the key had almost stopped working at all. He came within an hour window and besides fixing the lock he also secured the door frame when he noticed it was somewhat loose as well. The charge was only $85 and I was very satisfied with the results of his craft. And besides that he's so very nice and courteous. Great guy, great works! read more

The deadbolt knob on an old mortise lock had been locking us out a few times a month if we didn't have it positioned just right. If you've ever opened a mortise lock from 40+ years ago, things get intimidating real fast. Economy Locksmith was very familiar with the issue and happy to explain the inner workings of the lock and what breaks down after years of wear. Super friendly and educational service. While the repair was pricey, it was much more affordable than full replacement. read more
