Sundays are usually homemade pizza night, but sometimes we don't give ourselves enough time to pull it all together. Tonight was one of those nights, so we settled on Thai and EaThai. I ordered the shrimp pad thai (hold the egg) with medium spice. Husband got the Thai wings (hot) and the chicken Pad Kee Mao (hot). I rarely order pad thai, I'm usually disappointed, but this was quite delicious. I wasn't sure how I felt about the noodles being mostly broken, but I preferred it, because it wasn't a tangled mess. There was also a healthy amount of shrimp. Husband said the wings were cooked perfectly and enjoyed all six. He really enjoyed his Pad Kee Mao noting that next time he'd opt for Thai Hot instead of regular hot. Delivery was a breeze and prices were very reasonable. We don't live that far, so I didn't expect a long wait, but when my phone rang, I was expecting it to be an order clarification, not the driver on our porch. I greatly appreciated them not including chopsticks or utensils (at our request), we always ask, but only a fraction of places actually comply. It helps us be a little less wasteful. Long time customer, never again. Customer service is the WORST. I ordered takeout and there was missing food from the order. I called for a refund and they were very apologetic and kind at first. They acknowledged the missing items and agreed to refund my credit card for them. It took nearly a week, but they wound up only crediting half the amount of the missing food. I called back to talk to the manager and they refused to provide the full credit. I wound up filing a dispute with my credit card, and the restaurant lied that I never had any missing items. I will never order from this shady business again. I see they are active on Yelp and will likely try to spin this experience as my fault. Best Thai we've found in the city, especially for the taste/price ratio. Entrees start around $12-13 vs other places that sell a Pad Thai for $17-18. Tom Yum soup had amazing flavor, likewise for the Pad See Ew. Finished off with the best mango sticky rice we've had. Highly recommend this spot, especially after several drinks from a great happy hour at the Walk-In. Parking is easy on Kedzie- abundant and free. read more

Wow! The options near our new place continue to shine! EaThai might be the best Thai food I've had since moving to Chicago. Bonus that it's incredibly reasonably priced, offers seamless online ordering for takeout, and is just two blocks away from home. The Tom Yum soup got rave reviews from our group for being packed with a variety of veggies. I initially judged my husband for ordering the crab rangoon (who orders such Americanized stuff from a Thai place?!?) but they were amazing- the best I've ever had- each one was huge, with a generous portion of cream cheese filling, and the dipping sauce was tangy and delightful. These are a must order, though next time we want to try the duck appetizer. Pad Thai with shrimp (mild), green curry with chicken (medium), and pad see ew with chicken (hot) rounded out our order. The green curry was exceptional with complex flavor, lots of Thai eggplant, and lots of broth that was delicious spooned over the jasmine rice. Out of the two noodle dishes, I actually preferred the pad Thai. It had that great peanut flavor without being too sweet or cloying. We can't wait to order takeout from EaThai again. read more

The chicken was a bit dry but the flavor was there. Chicken wings: OMG amazing flavorful wings with a small kick. There is a lime flavor in there of some sort. Quick & Dirty: Would recommend, would go back. -- I spend a lot of time in the Avondale/Logan Square neighborhood, so EaThai is my #1 option when it's time for dinner. What I look for in a restaurant is what I like to call "comprehensive consistency". Taste, price, prep time, value, etc. EaThai doesn't miss a beat. It's getting to the point where I've almost ordered everything on the menu, and I'm trying to become a regular (I know I'm the only "Oral B." they see regularly. What I like about the menu is that it's succinct and straight to the point. I don't have the guess about what I'm ordering, and they don't try and go over the top with their offerings. Less is always more. I regularly enjoy the following: Apps: Thai Wings Veggie/Chicken Eggrolls Veggie/Chicken Dumplings Duck Wontons (personal favorite) Mains: Panang Curry Beef Broccoli Drunken Noodles Pad Thai Basil Chicken They allow you to choose the level of heat for each order (if ya can't stand the heat get out the kitchen) and they're more than happy to prepare dishes to meet all dietary needs and preferences. The curry was not a huge portion, but it was loaded with fresh bell pepper and chicken. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and not too spicy. We live right down the street and have been getting takeout here at least once a week since they opened. Everything we've tried has been great: - basil chicken is so, so good with plenty of basil and the rich fried egg -tofu fried rice is exactly what you'd want from a good fried rice (savory and not overcooked) -egg rolls are crisp and filled with identifiable veggies! -duck wontons and curry got a big thumbs up from our friends - Both desserts we've tried have been good! Had the Kho Tom Mud and the Mor Gaeng. Of those, I think the Mor Gaeng was the "less adventurous" option. Reminded me a bit of a Spanish flan, and was the perfect sweet ending to a meal. I've been wanting to try this place for months, but it just seemed a little too far to go. EaThai is extremely authentic, fresh Thai food (I lived in Thailand for 10 years). If you're going to give it a try, and want something really wonderful, order the Kwit Teow (chicken noodle soup). It really tastes like the stuff in Thailand! Hubby ordered the ground (or minced) chicken basil - wonderful! Can't recommend "Thai Hot" in terms of spiciness - just order it regular "Hot" unless you have a very high tolerance for chilli peppers. This restaurant is a gem in a city full of Thai places.
