We tried Eathai for the first time and loved it! They serve up fresh, authentic and flavorful dishes. The Panang Curry was smooth with the right amount of spice (we opted for "medium" spicy). The Guay Teow Gai soup hit the spot on a cold winter night. My husband devoured the Beef Thai Fried Rice. My overall favorite was the Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken - what a delicious and balanced blend of sweet and savory, with a nice crunch contrast in the cashews. We will be back!! read more

So very happy that EaThai has opened in Avondale / Logan Square. It's perfectly situated halfway through my evening dog walk route so I can make the order right before I head out and have a tasty meal when I arrive home. Pandemic life is much improved now that I have my two favorite Thai dishes (pad thai and pad see eww) at a stone's throw. De-lish! Just ordered takeout. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Delivery took a little long, however, they did say 40 minutes. Basil Chicken Egg Rolls were fabulous-wish I had ordered two orders. Just tried a new Thai restaurant tonight and I saw the high rating on yelp so why not. Som tum was on point. I enjoyed that. The regular sticky rice was probably one of the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. I was served in Saran Wrap and it was not fresh. Then I had the thin noodle soup. It was alright although the meat was very chewy and not really tender. The Thai iced tea was served in a cute cup and it was good. We got a dessert as well. Basically, it was like the whole meal overall. It was average. They have a limited menu so it didn't have my mom's favorite Thai dishes. The service is nice, just wish they had more to offer with the food. read more

I am thrilled to have this new addition to the neighborhood! Had takeout tonight and everything was delicious. I ordered the tofu panang curry- delicious, and the veggie fried rice- also delicious! Everything was super fresh including the vegetables. The tofu in the panang curry was sooooo good and the rice in the veggie fried rice was a perfect texture. I can't speak highly enough about the authentic food and service at EaThai. I've had their takeout several times now. All of their staples are incredibly well done, fresh, tasty and to your liking. I'm a curry fan and each that I've had were fantastic. I'm also a big fan of whatever it is they do to their soup broths. Coupled with their papaya salad, it's quickly becoming my go-to healthy dinner. The portion sizes easily give me two meals. Their team is incredibly kind and I love their story. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in all of Chicago - the wide variety of dishes, specials, and Northern Thai options sets it apart! I'm not gonna lie, I was a little afraid of what would pop up here after one of my favorite taco places closed here. LET ME TELL YOU. Their Pad Thai was delicious. We ordered the weekend of their "soft opening". They were extremely busy and trying their best to keep up with the high demand. I waited a bit more than expected for my food and they were very apologetic to all of us. I saw them working really hard to get those orders out. It's about a 5 minute walk from my house, so I will definitely be ordering from them again. Very reasonable priced and fresh! Finally a Thai food place close to home! Meh. I was so excited to try this new addition to the neighborhood, but we were definitely underwhelmed. As someone who eats a lot of Thai food (much of which is made by my best friend's mom and the cooks at the local Wat), I know that I have high expectations, but this didn't even remotely live up to them. The pad kee mow and som tum was completely bland, and the vegetables were horribly over cooked. My husband is not a fan of spice like I am, but he was underwhelmed with the 'flavorless' Penang curry. All in all, if you aren't terribly familiar with authentic southern Thai food, this is probably fine. But, if you want authentic Thai food, there are several other options that far exceed the bland, mediocre food that we received from Eathai. *As an update to your response; I do apologize for incorrectly identifying it as Southern Thai. However, I do know that Som Tum generally is made with spices, and this one had none. The curry was also bland. The Wat where the Thai market is located is at 75th and Harlem. They stopped with the market when the weather was bad, but it should start up again. It's the best Thai food I've had in the city. read more

Worst "bubble tea" I've ever had. I was not expecting too much since they are not bubble tea specialty place or Taiwanese, but it was not to the point it was not edible. I almost never waste prepared food, but this was exception. Iwas powder based drink and it was not dissolved and grainy. Bubbles were old that they were rough, crumbly, and gross. read more

Super good and authentic! Feels like I'm eating thai food cooked in my relatives home in Thailand. Appreciate that their menu is starting off with some classic dishes but they also have specials like Khao Mun Gai for the start of the year 2021 (which was really good). This place is adorable. The food was delicious. I can't remember the name of what I ordered, all I remember is that it was one of their specials. My friend ordered the dumplings and wings and we also ordered the duck bacon wontons as an appetizer. The food was delightful, reasonably priced, and the service was stellar. It reminded me of the kindness and joy that I received when visiting Thailand and it was refreshing to be met with such joy on a Monday night. Will def be back. read more

My husband ordered the Thai Basil over Fried Rice and loved it. We also ordered the vegetable egg rolls which were amazing. We liked them a lot better than our usual Thai restaurant. I ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and unfortunately the chicken was very overcooked and dry. The flavors were great though! I'd probably order with tofu instead next time.
