    chicken schwarma pita
    MJ L.

I used to live in the middle east, so my standards are set to what I am used to there when it comes to "Middle Eastern food". East Bite sits almost on top of McDowell with a small parking lot just east. Inside the bar is a thin line with an open kitchen right behind it. We were the only ones there at 7:30pm on a Wednesday, so despite the high reviews, I was skeptical. Our sever had a dry sense of humor and told us he worked there because he liked the food, and apologized for giving a comically large orange slice as a blue moon garnish. His disarming nature made me appreciate the restaurant more. The lentil soup was a perfect consistency - thick but still in the soup realm and with lots of flavor. The hummus was light and had great taste, and came with well made pita that I probably ate too much of. For mains, we got the beef kebab pita and chicken schwarma pita. This was where I felt at home. The flavor was right, the pita was stuffed correctly, and both of us were excited to have this place around the corner. Will return, highly recommend. Thank you!

    Rose water lemon drop martini

I woke up thinking about this drink and I had to write a review. I had their rose water lemon drop martini and it was absolute perfection! I work at a resort in Scottsdale and we desperately need this on the menu! Not only was it gorgeous, but it tasted incredible. Everyone loves a classic lemon drop, but the rose water brings so much elevation and sophistication to the glass. It's perfectly floral without tasting like perfume or a cleaning product. An absolute 10/10! Also, the service was great and the food was yummy. I will be back soon! If they had a happy hour I would be back tomorrow.

    Baba ganouj!

Wow. The place looks amazing after taking over the local pho place. Super clean, inviting and great for large groups. The baba ganouj, dear science, is the best I've ever had in Phoenix. Perfectly smoky, light and umptious! The dolmas!, omgee, divine in all of their glory. The mini pitas with the baba were perfectly done. I can't wait to try my to go items, chicken kebab and some beef shawarma. I may not cook again, after eating here. Meal prep, nah. I'll just get to go from here and split it up during the week. Service is just right, not pushy and not non-existent. Make this place so popular we can't get in. I'm not about gate keeping. This pace needs to blow up. Cheers East Bite, you did it right!

Service was lovely but the food was fantastic!!!! Perfect place to come before or after a show at the theater complex. I got the Mediterranean bowl and it was huge and very flavorful.

Four countries are represented in this unique experience. Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. The lentil soup was creamy and brought back memories of my grandmother's cooking. The staff was helpful and attentive. I can't wait to go back and try the kibbe.

Great service, super helpful staff, and they just started a rewards program last week. I will definitely return just for the pet friendliness and great service alone. The food slaps. So that is amazing too. The only negative is the price but you're definitely paying for quality and flavor, so that's not an issue for me. Edit: the CRISPIEST Greek Fries I have ever had and for that I am naming the best.

A family owned sit-down full service place that is quaint, charming and welcoming. We ate in, but there were more carry out orders going than diners. We went after seeing the other good reviews and, as always, Yelpers usually don't miss. We were quickly welcomed and seated. The menu is straightforward, with a nice mix of Mediterranean foods. We had the Chicago gyros, chicken schwarma, beef kofta, lemon rice soup, tabbouleh salad and fries. All were great, but the fries were outstanding! I've eaten a lot of fried potatoes in my life, and really none better. They rounded out the meal-hot, fresh, crunchy and soft. Perfect! If I had to have a "complaint," the lemon garlic aioli on the schwarma was a bit too much, get that "on the side" so you can manage that. Otherwise a great meal. OPA!

We tried a couple of their Persian Kabobs and found them to be excellent! The Koobideh (ground beef) kabobs were tender and juicy, with great flavor. The Boneless Chicken kabob had saffron flavor and was cooked to perfection. The salad was nice and crispy with just enough oil/vinegar dressing. Customer service was excellent, with very attentive staff. Their dining area's ambiance is good, is well lit and is nice and cool. There are plenty of parking space just outside in the shopping center. The food was very good... we will definitely have to come back to try the other items on their menu. Two thumbs up!

The restaurant is simply decorated but very cute, and everything is clean--including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus.

Some restaurants chase trends. Others just quietly keep making really good food year after year…read more This is one of those places. I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. I'll try not to wait so long before my next visit.

They should probably clean up the walkway to the bathroom too there was just a bunch of stuff. They also have a store attached which was cool. We didn't look but still cool. Chicken shawarma was bomb!
