Love this place! Food is phenomenal and the couple that run it are so nice! Skewered meats are cooked to order outside over actual fire. Thank you Tony for braving that heat to cook for us, always with a huge smile! As noted food is cooked to order so it takes a little bit. They do list cook times on their website and you can call ahead. I hear they sometimes run out of some options, but everything is fantastic so just pick something else. Or call ahead! The standard order is a meal with grilled veggies and sauce and rice and some shirazi salad. I like to do just the skewers with the chimi sauce (very different than other chimichurri I've had, but good!) and a large order of shirazi salad and eat that with fresh lavosh from the Middle Eastern store next door. This rating is just on the food. I got the koobideh and the first couple bites were delicious. Then I had a few bites where it was pure salt. Crunchy pure salt that sent my blood pressure through the roof. Rice and sauces were good. But everything just tasted too salty especially after those bites. I ordered the chicken thigh as my coworker told me that's the must have. I ordered ahead but they had a mishap and when I got there, they said they actually ran out. First time tryinf this place and it's sooooo good. I've had so many leftovers I didn't realize how big the entree was but it definitely kept me fed for 3 days. I got the chicken tender entree with rice and the grilled tomatoes and peppers. Soooooo good. I so wish there was a little bit more grilled veggies. But the service was quick since I ordered pick up. Absolutely fantastic kabobs grilled over mesquite packed with favor! Came from out of town and decided to try this place which was so highly rated, and I soon found out why. The first visit tried the chicken tenders around dinner time, as it was the only thing left. It was ready in about 15 mins in a nice container to go, with generous portion size enough for 2 people really. The chicken was tender, juicy, and packed with mesquite flavor. My second visit the next day I called ahead and ordered barg kabob, it took about an hour to get it ready. Again it was packed nicely, huge portion size, and the meat was flavorful and tender. The service front of the house couldn't be nicer. The restaurant is really geared toward takeout, there are 2 tables outside and 4 barstools inside. Would reccomend highly to others and would come back again! Some suggestions that may make the experience even better 1) not much can be done about this given the location but only 2 parking spots for the restaurant makes it really hard to get in and out 2) would be nice if the meats were cut smaller, chicken and beef pieces are quite large and with a plastic knife can be difficult to cut. There was also some variation in how cooked the beef pieces were due to size variation 3) the phone ordering system could be improved. Took 15 mins of trying to get connected, and then another hour wait to get the food. An online ordering system would make this much more efficient 4) On my second visit I called first thing when opened to try to order the koobideh, was told sold out already. I really enjoyed eating here. Walking up you could smell everything being freshly grilled. When we approached the owner was delightful and explained everything to us including a warning that the portion sizes were large. We settled on one combo (to share) and a chicken kabob. It came with basmati rice, roasted tomatoes and a few other dressings. Couldn't even finish like a quarter of it because it was sooo much food. Will definitely come back again, probably to sample other meats and just get the same combination to eat throughout the week. Perfect for meal prep for the week. It's a pick up place, not sit and eat. Very smoky in there and I can see why from the very delicious smoky chicken. I got the chicken tender combo (they sold out of the thighs one hour past open) and told them when I wanted to pick it up! It was about $30 but is enough for four servings. A smackin good deal if you ask me. There is a hefty load of meat and it's so flavorful and juicy. It comes on heaping portion of rice with two roasted ginormous tomatoes and a pepper. I bought it a day ahead so I placed it in containers to keep it fresh and I had to get extra ones because there was jsut so much food. It came with some cucumbers and tomato salad, you get choice of tzatziki or a tahini sauce and the guy gave me both because it was my first time! I will be back very soon. Very impressed. I don't know where to start...the food or chef/owner Tony. OK, let's start with the food. I ordered the chicken thigh skewer with rice and Tony insisted on bringing me some Koobideh as well. It is an insane amount of insanely good food! Not cheap, but an incredible value for the sheer amount and quality of food. I loved the char and marinade on the chicken. The Koobideh was bursting with juicy goodness...a far cry from the sad dried out beef from most places. Everything was grilled perfectly. I was in Phoenix for business, but I live the LA area. I have no doubt that this is the best Armenian and Mediterranean food in AZ...but I would rank at it the top in LA as well and that is saying something. (Sorry, Zankou! You know I still love you too! Note to Tony: you should visit LA, go to Zankou, and copy their garlic sauce. It would be a great addition to your food. I think that it is similar to Lebanese toum...and Zankou's version makes everything better!). Now on to Tony. He is worth the trip to this restaurant by himself. He is a character in the best possible way. He knows every customer who walks in the door, and if the hospitality he showed me as a first time customer is the norm, it is easy to see why people keep coming back. His passion and love for the food and his customers is very evident. If you are having a bad day, skip therapy and go see Tony. Your head, stomach, and wallet will thank you. We were allowed to use the gender neutral bathroom at the back after we had traveled such a far distance, and I got to peek at the outdoor fire grill and the kitchen as I walked through to find the restroom. We were one of the first customers there and got our order in right away, but people were already on the phone calling and the place was busy with phone orders. It took a while for our order to get ready so we went next-door to the Middle Eastern bakery and picked up some more goodies and snacked on some grape leaves and spinach pies with rose water lemonade and Arabic coffee while we waited at the patio tables at the front of Kabob Grill n Go. We watched the line of people come in and get longer as everybody wanted to get their orders in for Saturday lunch and dinner. This place is delicious and service is great. Why on earth do I forget about this place?? Was reminded in a Reddit thread last night and had my husband pick up the chicken thigh combo today for lunch. On the first bite I was instantly transported to Tel Aviv. Absolutely incredible flavor and perfect texture. This is a hole in the wall place with the BEST kebabs I have ever had. And the kebabs are HUGE so it makes the prices very reasonable. I've tried everything here except for the beef filet because they are always sold out. I just need to go early in the day... hopefully will get to try it soon. I always order there cuz I like to look at the meat in the case, and it takes 20-25 min for them to grill the kebabs fresh... I go to a nearby coffee shop to grab a drink while a wait. They sell out of meats quickly so order early. Had the chicken thick and the pork rib. A combo portion is definitely enough to feed 2 people.
