Mid Lacked a lot of flavor Won't go back Brother got eggs Benedict trio. Liked one, said other was bland and didn't eat the original cuz he wasn't good. Mom got chorizo omelet and stayed it lacked flavor. I made an omelet and basically built a "Denver omelet" but the veggies we big and sautéed like fajita veggies. My friends and I decided to eat here after church on a Sunday morning, so it was busy but we got seated quickly. Our waiter was very attentive, but once we ordered it took over 30 minutes for the food to come out. When it did come out, we were let down by the portion sizes and presentation. My friend ordered the Elvis pancake and she said it tasted and looked exactly how you would imagine based on the description: extremely skinny waffles with bacon, chocolate, and a sliver of banana. She was also disappointed by the portion size of the egg for the price. It really just was one small egg as stated on the menu, however we all agreed that $5 was too expensive for the portion, taste, and presentation. We paid $83 for the meal and were not impressed with the portion sizes, prices, or wait time. Having options for sides already in the entrees instead of being sold separately at expensive prices would give customer's their money's worth. read more

Came here for brunch on sunday! It was over an hour wait but i love how we were able to join the waitlist ahead of time so we didn't have to wait too long after we arrived! We got the pork belly benedict, the rancho benedict, and the carnitas chilaquiles. The food came out decently fast and was delicious! Portion sizes were pretty good i was stuffed after finishing the pork belly benedicts. Definitely would come back here if I am in the area! read more

I went to early bird on a weekday for brunch, it was busy but we didn't have to wait. The inside is pretty casual. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes. It's a pretty large portion and the steak was a nice tender cut. The service was okay, but maybe because we were in the corner? The steak was tasty and charred as if cooked outside. The Mexican coffee is a nice change .... I loved the chilaquiles and surprisingly the tomatillo sauce was tastier to me than the habanero sauce but the habanero sauce is spicy so get the two. They have amazing food selection. I found my New breakfast spot. I have been driving to pico Rivera for breakfast! The early bird is it and closer to my home. Yay read more

Overall, this place is a hit. I will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu. The mimosa flight was delicious. The Ribeye and Chilaquiles were 4/5; definitely enough to share if not super hungry. The Duck Confit Hash was 3/5; I was not expecting the white raisins in there. Churro Waffle was 5/5! read more

I've come here with my family about a dozen times since they have opened, so I feel I can give a fair unbiased review. I felt prompted to write this after seeing a lot of negative one star reviews that are focused on price alone, which is crazy to me. The prices are on the menu, it's not a surprise. What you need to know: - The food is expensive, don't expect Denny's prices. - It's crazy busy, which means wait times and staff hustling to get you in and out - the food is BOMB. Haven't had a single thing I don't like. I LOVE the chicken and waffles, best I've ever had. 5 stars as I know what I'm getting here. If I want to save money and I go to any random diner. I checked in on the waist on yelp and when I got there the service was not too great. As the list showed I was next in line and to check in I did just that but the customer representative young man not sure his name was like surprised or maybe not aware of what to do. He asked me to wait until someone could help me but didn't call anyone and just let me wait. So I began to wait outside. I had to go back in to ask the status of my check in. I think after I got to the lady who was in charge of seating is where I finally was attended to. Point is just know how to help your customers. At least use courtesy and maybe direct them so they aren't just standing wondering did I check in or did they mark me as here?? I ordered the chilaquiles with carnitas and the Dutch waffle. The chilaquiles plate was not good at all. It was very dry and just not flavorful. The Dutch waffle was very good. I had a Mexican coffee and to be honest this was just regular coffee with canela in it. Nothing to appealing. I unfortunately will not return here. The menu options are not to appealing now that I tried an item I'm not interested in coming back. The service was not great as well so that's a biggie for me. read more

First off, I want to say what a cute spot to eat it. The simplistic yet comforting style of early bird is the best. I love coming here on the weekend with my family to eat. Most importantly to food does not disappoint. The evidence is in the picture. If you have a sweet tooth I would recommend the Dutch waffle and the pancake. Honestly the best made whip cream, sweet blue berries, and perfectly crispy waffle is amazing. Service is good. Very friendly staff however the wait time is a little long to be seated and to be served although they are very busy. Maybe the time for the food takes awhile because it is fresh and delicious. Was my first time trying their food, we shared the Carnitas chilaquies and let me tell you, they were great!! Large portion enough for 2. Also tried the Elvis Waffle, very taste waffle. Liked the crunchy waffle! Will definitely try this place out again soon. Also they were accommodating to our Autistic son by letting us order a waffle by itself for him also the whole staff were super polite and friendly. read more

If you're looking for brunch in north OC, this is a great choice. I went for a celebratory brunch after running a half-marathon. For these occasions, I always like to get a mimosa, and wow, did Early Bird deliver! Their mimosa flight is incredible. And so is their food! I loved my plate of chilaquiles. They also offer a Mexican coffee that adds a flavorful twist to your usual cup of joe. This place was yummy and did not disappoint! We had a group of 7 that came in around 8 am and the place was still fairly empty. We sat ourselves and grabbed menus. Their Mexican coffee is a must get if you like something sweet. I ordered the carnitas chilaquiles and it was so good! Chopped fresh fried tortilla chips covered in sauce topped with tender carnitas and runny eggs - what more could you ask for? One of their specials was an Oreo waffle which was delicious as well! It had bits of Oreos in the waffle topped with cream and fruit. While the food was good, there were unbussed tables around us and the bathroom was left dirty. So get ready for a wait. Be mindful only open until 2/230 too. Specializes in brunch only. Ordered the pumpkin cheesecake, pancake, and the Benedict trio. Everything was very delicious. The pancake was scrumptious. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. And we really enjoyed it. I love the fact that you got one Benedict of each flavor bacon, duck and pork belly. Throughly enjoyed my breakfast here! My friend and I split the chilaquiles and they were great. However, the best thing we had was the Elvis waffle! It came in a sandwich, and was amazing! The waffle was thin and crispy and the bacon/ Nutella and bananas were such a treat. 10/10 recommend! I love Early Bird, and this is the best brunch spot in Fullerton, hands down! I lived in Fully for school, and this would be my go-to brunch spot. My favorite part of the meal is their hashbrowns; it's crispy and flavorful because of the onion and cheese. You can't go wrong with their Traditional Egg Benedict or Pork Belly Benedict. On my last visit, I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, and it was great; the pickles were subtle and thinly sliced. They also have a unique Early Bird sauce on the table, which I highly recommend using on your potatoes or if you want to add any extra flavor to any part of your meal. If you go on the weekend, expect a line and hop on that Yelp waitlist for a more convenient experience. read more

Especially helpful for those with children who are less patient than you lol My family and I have been coming here for over ten years and still enjoy it as much as our first visit! I typically get the steak and eggs, medium rare. The coffee here is decent as well (doesn't taste burnt!). The fresh squeezed orange juice is DELICIOUS. Haven't been here in years so it was like trying it for the first time since I don't remember anything. Got seated right away on a weekday during brunch time. Ordered the Serrano chicken sandwich which the waitress said was a new item and it was SO good - grilled, juicy chicken, fried Serrano pepper, crispy onions, melted cheese on brioche bread with a side of fries. However for $18.99 it was pricey for the size. Overall their menu is pretty pricey and that's not including their new egg fee for an extra $1.75 for current egg prices. In my opinion the restaurant should feel cleaner and a little more upscale for the prices but the food is at least good. read more

4.5 Stars! I been coming to Early Bird for many years. I have not had anything bad from here. Many of the breakfast entrees are good. Sometimes there are lines in the mornings. The service is great, always alert and the waiter or waitress are always around. Ambiance is cool. It's a good place to come with family or alone to dine here. Even the 30 plus minutes wait time didn't make me remove a star! Yeah, pretty much it was that good. Just look at the pictures I took! We wanted to eat breakfast after picking up our son to go to Disneyland and this popped up when we googled. Everything that we ordered came out soo good, regardless of the the wait time, which we didn't mind as long as the food's amazing!! Yes on their website but the last 6 times I've gone here, they say their online ordering system isn't working (even though it will let you place an order). So I would advise against it and call to place an order instead.

It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.

While the classic eggs benedict was tasty, the hollandaise sauce could have used a little more. It was buttery but lacked the necessary creaminess and acidity from lemon. It's not the standard Early Bird hollandaise sauce that I adore. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with a gooey yolk, however it was a little odd that extra water leaked out as well as I cracked into the yolk. There was an abundance of succulent ham with just the right amount of saltiness. I liked the hashbrowns, especially because I asked for extra crispy ones. It was well-seasoned and quite tasty. The potatoes lacked the pillowy feel of mashed potatoes and had a somewhat wet interior. However, these hashbrowns were redeemed by the extra crispy outside layer, and all in all, I liked it. The egg muffins had a gorgeous brown buttery crunch and were expertly toasted. I adore how crispy this texture is! The baked tomato with breadcrumbs side dish was a delectable way to complement the entire meal. It was well-seasoned, had a medium soft texture, and had that tomatoey tang. Waffle Special Cheesecake with Pumpkin A non-Belgian waffle that is thinner. The outside is thin and crispy, adding to the crunchy texture. It had insides of pure pumpkin, kind of like pumpkin pie. The dish came together thanks to a buttery, spicy caramel sauce. I wish the pumpkin puree had had more of that sauce on it. The waffle was somewhat soggy in places due to the drawback of the pumpkin puree. The freshly whipped cream tasted great and was done perfectly! Overall, I found it to be more delightful than the hash browns and eggs Benedict. Customer service All went well. After reminding my waitress that I was waiting for the order, my second order of the waffle special arrived a little later than expected. As I wasn't in a rush, I was fine with that. Overall though, excellent service! The person at the front of the house was also quite pleasant, and her smiles added a lot of warmth to the entire dining experience. First time here and the place is roomy with a lot of tables, I do enjoy the high ceilings and semi open kitchen. Tables have little terrarium like pots with succulents at the table and I like that touch. Came in about a little after 2pm on a monday and was presented both the breakfast and lunch menu's wich had a lot of interesting choices which all sounded good. I went for the Fried chicken salad and a bowl of tomato basil soup with a mug of coffee. The coffee was Sumatra and was great they have a jar of agave nectar on each table and thought that to be a nice touch as well. Service was average, no explanations of any specials or any recommendations altho my coffee was filled a few times and was asked if I needed anything else upon arrival of my order. The food was nicely plated and put together the boneless fried chicken that surrounded the salad was excellent in juiciness and flavor except for the overuse of salt in the batter, the salad itself was topped with a poached egg and had sweet corn and halved cherry tomatoes with green beans mixed in an arugula salad with a light dressing, it was delicious. The soup was very salty I even overheard another table that both ordered it say the same thing, the salt made it unpleasant and the basil was either very little or undetectable. The presentation of the soup was great tho it had some zucchini quarters in the middle. I give it a 4 stars but with a little work and attention to detail it could be a 5 read more

Hi. I am one of the owners of Early Bird. A customer that was upset by one of our servers that reminded the table we are on a wait pulled the race card. Basically claiming the "owner" is racist. I directly informed this Yelper that in 2014 to call out an establishment as racist based on a server making a statement about the wait is incredibly irresponsible (yes, the server was white but what difference does that make - would it be different if either of the owners said something since we're both Mexican and American citizens?). I've despised the race card. It moves society backwards not forward. If you have an issue with service, or the food, then that is important for us to know that. And at times, we've absolutely earned a 1* here and there when we just blow it. We're not perfect but we try to be. Anybody that knows us or knows the establishment knows that the statement is ridiculous. I am only posting this because the Yelp support team refused to remove the statement despite the false nature of the statements and that it violates the Yelp user agreement. We just want to make it perfectly clear that it is our hope that in 2014 -- people start looking at each other as fellow humans and not categories. We don't see people based on race or gender. I came here for breakfast after seeing the highly rated yelp reviews. I do have a couple qualms with the restaurant that I think they just need to sort out or something. First, their service is terrible. The waiting staff is not very attentive to guests needs and I personally think they are just under staffed, which could be remedied by hiring an extra person. Second, at least from what I've tried, I don't think their food lives up to the hype that everyone mentioned, but I only have tried one thing, so I can't really speak on behalf of every other item. The item I got was the Frank Floyd Benedict (Poached Eggs, Roasted Portabella, Spinach, Smoked Salmon, Bearnaise). Now what I didn't expect was the portabello mushroom to be the BASE of the item, making me miss out on an English muffin. The mushroom as the base totally ruined the flavor of the benedict. The things that I did really like were the hash browns on the side and then the wheat toast with home made jam which did really make the dish more worth the price. The restaurant itself looked fairly new and the decor was nice and up to date. I think maybe I am just being a little unfair since I did only try one item, but if I do come back, I would try something else (if I can even get the attention of the waiting staff). read more

If this review were solely based on the food, I would easily give it 4 stars, but when factoring in the customer service, it's a solid 1-star experience. We've been loyal customers for years, but today was a real turning point. We stopped by our favorite coffee shop down the street and decided on a spontaneous breakfast date at Early Bird. As soon as we walked in, there was a strong, musty odor, which was the first red flag. The host informed us that outside drinks weren't allowed but made an exception this time, which we appreciated. No problem, I accepted the situation. However, when the waitress came over, she reiterated the same rule, and I explained that I had already been informed by three different people. Instead of being understanding, she added with an unnecessary tone, "It's on the door too." I was hoping for a pleasant breakfast, not to deal with someone's snarky comments. Feeling uncomfortable, I politely decided to leave, not wanting to make anyone else in the establishment feel uneasy. It's disappointing that the waitress couldn't leave her attitude at the door. It's a shame because we've enjoyed this place for years, but the service today was a huge letdown. read more

I have never written a review before but I signed up just to write this. First let me say the food and service was really good. Thats not the reason for the one star. The reason I'm giving them one star is because the manager is a jerk. (He's the guy with all the tatoos). We were sitting right by the kitchen and our whole table heard him cuss out one of the waitresses. Like "f*** you!" It may seem like this place is friendly but behind doors the manager is really mean to the staff. What I don't understand...he knows the kitchen is all open to the restaurant and their are tables right next to it. Doesn't he know people can hear everything? The sad thing was the waitresses were really nice and doing their job and everything. I really hope the owner of the restaurant sees this and gets rid of that guy. For this reason alone no one at our table will go back there. We all decided that we just can't give our money to a place that treats its employees so bad. I hope other people read this and decide to go somewhere else for breakfast. It doesn't matter how good the food is. The staff is verbally abused!
