I hadn't been to Earls in a while, but I decided to visit for happy hour and dinner with some friends--and I'm so glad I did! Our server, Tabatha, was fantastic. She was professional, polite, and incredibly attentive. She recommended some amazing dishes and drinks that we all loved. One of my friends has a food allergy, and Tabatha went out of her way to make sure her meal was safe, which we all really appreciated. Tabatha's sweet and accommodating service made our evening so enjoyable. We're already planning to come back for girls' night next week and will definitely be asking for her to be our server again! On top of that, Earls has really stepped up since the last time I visited. Everything felt more professional, and the food was genuinely impressive--great taste and totally worth it. I have a high tolerance and can see why my companion struggled. That being said, they are very nicely portioned. Come switch chips and salsa! Steak & Sushi left something significant to be desired. Stopped by for a late bite at Earls for a friends last minute Dinner and was pleasantly surprised by their cocktails! They were 10/10! I had the Marilyn Monroe, which had: Smirnoff Vanilla vodka, prosecco, passion fruit, fresh lime which was right up my alley and super refreshing. My partner had the Strawberry Smoke-show Margarita - with Mezcal instead of tequila and he loved it. I must say I would definitely go back to try more of their cocktails For Food I got their Bacon Cheddar Burger which had Tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard, brioche bun and honestly I loved it. They use an excellent grade of beef and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. My partner had their Margherita Pizza which had Fior di Latte mozzarella, Grana Padano, basil. It was good but he wishes that it had a little more cheese. I too tasted this and loved the dough and the tomato sauce they used but I agree more cheese would have set it off. This is definitely a great dining Gem in Tysons I would think of it as an elevated bar because it is very aesthetically pleasing inside but with a great selection of light bites as well as prime entrees like their Surf and Turf. It had been many years since I've ben here, we came for dinner on a whim and saw they had open reservations. Restaurant had nice contemporary decor and was surprisingly empty in the dining section at 6 pm on a saturday. The food was really good but rather pricey. We ordered the miso seabass which was a shocking 50+ dollars and a new breaded chicken dish upwards of 30 something, and a steak, also 50+ dollars. The meals were very well prepared and tasty but we just weren't expecting that dinner price for a restaurant that is known for cheap happy hour drinks and happy hour apps but we all left satisfied with our meals so we still left happy. read more

I came here with my wife last month for a late dinner after the Eras Tour movie at AMC Tyson's and we were very impressed with the food, drinks, and service. To eat we had the Spicy Tuna Tacos as an appetizer and an Ahi Poke Bowl and Tortellini with a 7oz Filet for our entrees. It was all excellent and we were definitely too full for dessert. The drinks knocked it out of the park too and we had the Strawberry Smoke and Passionfruit Chili Margaritas. The service was wonderful and ambience is nice yet a little loud. I've been to Earl's twice recently and not sure how/why I waited so long to try them! The atmosphere is great... both times I went were on a Tuesday evening and it was surprisingly busy. However, that did not impact the level of service I received. During my most recent visit, my server (Tysin) was newer but still very knowledgeable and pleasant. I ordered the truffle tortellini pasta with shrimp, but asked for it to be prepared with Cajun seasoning... GAME CHANGING! It was amazing! One of the head chefs (Bella) came out and asked how it was and if I had any suggestions. This was very surprising to me, as I wasn't expecting that level of attention in a busy restaurant setting like this. She was also very pleasant and accommodating. Everything was amazing. Stopped by somewhat late after checking out a show at the new Capital One Hall. Service was great. The kitchen was closing a little early, which we understood as it was busy but not packed. This was communicated by both our server as well as the manager. They were out of a few things, but again this was clearly communicated and alternative suggestions were offered. My lobster tail was very good. It had a Cajun kick that provided the right amount of heat. My sirloin was well seasoned, but a tad unevenly cooked. I usually order my steaks a medium rare, I do this because most restaurants (that aren't steakhouses) struggle getting the temperature right. We came in for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was pretty busy, but their service was efficient. The food was good. Well seasoned, perfect portions and flavorful. The angry chicken lettuce wraps were so delicious. I could have eaten a second order. I had the prime sirloin, which was cooked perfectly. Usually I use steak sauce but it was seasoned perfectly and I added truffle butter. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and buttery...not a fan of the succotash. My hubby had the bacon burger. Came here with 2 friends for dinner on a Wednesday. Luckily, it was wine Wednesday so we all shared a bottle of wine, the Poet, and it was a really good bottle! We're not big wine drinkers so it really surprised us. I ended up getting the 9 ounce prime sirloin steak frites since there was also a special for the steaks. I always order medium rare and it was the extremely tough to cut. I spent so long sawing the steak that my friends were already done eating and I had barely started. My friend laughed and tried to cut it and she was so surprised at how tough it was. It was really tough to chew too. The fries were really yummy and I enjoyed the small side salad too. I visited Earls on a Saturday evening with a group of 6. The restaurant itself is very nice! I appreciated the fun decor and ambiance. The menu was a bit all over the place. We all looked at it several times over and could not decide what to get. I wish the menu had more simplified options. Ultimately I decided to get the tuna poke bowl. It was very good, very flavorful. Just wish there was a little more rice and toppings. I also had the winter sangria which was a special at $9. It was ok, nothing really special about it. I felt the menu was also overpriced, especially for the portion sizes. Our server was friendly and made sure to ask everyone about their allergies/dietary preferences. However, one person in the group specifically ordered an item with no dairy, and when the food came out it had cheese on it, which was not included in the description of the menu item. Our waitress took care of it and had the kitchen remake the sandwich which was nice. But, that was pretty strange. The tacos were cold, fries were hard and warm at best, pizza was cold enough for the cheese to be hard and the crab cake was warm at best. We said something to the bartender who told the manager about the issue (in front of us). He came over and was apologetic said they'd remake the food and comp one of the drinks we had. The tacos were still cold and the crab cake was still only warm. Fries were very hot and delicious. The pizza wasn't the best. The manager made his way back to us after we eyed him for a bit and we let him know about the tacos which I'd only taken one bite out of and stopped after realizing it was still cold. He apologized. Check came and the tacos were still on it so I mentioned to the bartender to take them off. He said he'd have to clear that with the manager because he didn't instruct him to do that. Their cuisines are steaks, burgers, seafood, salad, chicken. My friend and I mainly came for drinks and we ordered the following items: 1. Jumbo Lump Crab Cake 2. 14oz Ribeye 3. Maui Mai Tai 4. Blue Hawaiian 5. Watermelon Slush Everything was cooked perfectly and I appreciated that they were willing to split the Ribeye into two portions for us. The drinks were outstanding, especially the watermelon slush. It was blended so smoothly that you couldn't even tell there was ice in it. Came here for dinner after attending an event at Tysons. I was a bit disappointed in the overall experience, with lackluster and forgetful service and mediocre food. Plus it's so expensive for what it is and I found the menu to be very limited. We started with the Street Corn + Avocado Dip (Valentina crema, tajin, feta, corn tortillas) which was very tasty. We also split the Spicy Tuna Roll (Avocado, cucumber, mango, sriracha mayo) which was the most basic sushi roll and at almost $20 was not at all worth the price. For my entree, I ordered the Yucatan Chicken Tacos (Jalapeño crema, pico de gallo, white cheddar, cabbage, corn tortillas). I ordered a side of truffle fries, but they brought me regular fries and charged for truffle fries. The tacos and fries were fine. For 4 people who got entrees, 1 round of drinks, and split 2 appetizers, the total was almost $200 which was not at all worth it. At least the patio was nice. read more

American restaurant with not the best vegetarian options. Back in the day, Earls had a killer bibimbap loaded with veggies and tofu in a stone clay bowl! The vegetarian selection has gone downhill with the newest crispy tofu sushi roll. I've been here off and on through the years, and increasingly more disappointed with the food. Tofu Sushi Taco (1/5) - While the dish sounds appetizing, where are the tacos? How are you supposed to pick it up the gigantic sushi pieces of crispy tofu, mango, and rice? No chopsticks were served. Knife and fork don't cut it and left a crumbly miss. Are hands the way to go? There dish felt incomplete and there were definitely some missing ingredients. The dish has potential with the crispy tofu and adding in avocado, lettuce or cabbage, and a couple of ingredients sandwiched in a taco like I was eagerly anticipating would elevate the flavor and bring it up a few notches. The dish left much to be desired. Underwhelming and still hungry, the dish felt more like an app than an entree. Crispy Tofu Zen Bowl (3/5) - While the chunky blocks of tofu are tasty, there wasn't enough veggies and overloaded with rice. Go for the greens! Impossible Burger (4/5) - The meaty Impossible Burger was prepared well with a buttery bun and avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion. Best part was that you can get the parmesan truffle fries for only $1.25 upcharge. It was surprisingly expensive $22 to get the Impossible Burger including an upcharge for bacon, avocado, and fries. Parmesan Truffle Fries (5/5) - The crispy shoestring fries with a subtle hint of truffle oil and hit the spot with the aioli dipping sauce! Best of all, they can make a batch without salt. Warm Spinach Three Cheese Dip (2/5) - The dip just doesn't quite look right as I was utterly confused that it was guacamole. You can't distinguish the spinach from the cheese, it's oddly blended together. With chunks of artichokes, the dip tastes better than it looks. The tortilla chips are also stale. The dip would go really well with a baguette or crostini like the restaurant served in the past. Would opt for the fries instead and save room for dessert! Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cake (5/5) - Save the best for last! Don't skip out on dessert, the cake is divine and worth saving room for. The decadent chocolate cheesecake is topped with a large dollop of peanut butter bathing in raspberry puree. The dark chocolate pairs so well with raspberry. While the peanut butter was a bit too bold for me, my hubby devoured it. The cheesecake is 10x better than Cheesecake Factory. The perfect ending to a great meal! Cocktails (3/5) - Cocktails can be a hit or a miss! The $7 Red Sangria was delicious with the house-blend red and fruits. I regretted not getting a refill and opted for the Rose Sangria. The Rose Sangria was tangy and tart with a bold citrus flavor - not a fan. If it wasn't last call, I honestly would have asked to switch it out with the White Sangria or gotten another refill on the Red. I wasn't a big fan of the Cherry Long Island, Strawberry Spritzer, Marilyn Monroe, and Paper Plane cocktails. Mocktails (4/5) - While mocktails can be sugary sweet, try the Lemonade less sweetened with 1/2 amount of syrup - tastes just like a mojito! The service has really improved after the pandemic. Shout-out to the manager, Joshua, who was super nice and came to our table and helping to recommend drinks and then checking in on us. Pretty relaxing with some good music playing in the background. I had a 20 minute wait, but it passed quickly. The server was prompt and very friendly. In fact, the whole staff was great. Had a craving for a burger, so ordered the Stack burger w/truffle fries. The burger was awesome. They had a habanero jack that actually provided a little heat. The burger was cooked perfectly. The truffle fries shined, and I enjoyed the hint of fresh groundless pepper. You may ask, " My friend, why not five stars?". It comes down to price. The burger + truffle fries will be over $20. I get the atmosphere and awesome staff, but I think prices have room for improvement. Again, not in the restaurant business, so I may be off mark. I came to Earls Kitchen + Bar on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 12. Parking was at Tysons, but that is to be expected around the holidays. We were lucky enough to be seated within 15 minutes of arrival for such a large group. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate last minute and they told us to head over and they would take care of us :) The happy hour menu is available everyday from 2pm-5pm. We ordered a bunch of items and shared as a table. A few comments on some of the items we ordered: - Warm Spinach + Three Cheese Dip - This was my favorite thing from Earls, the dip was very flavorful and they don't skimp on chips. It is perfect to split between 3-4 people. - Buffalo Cauliflower - It wasn't amazing and it wasn't terrible. The celery was really fresh, but the coating of sauce on the cauliflower was a little light. - Seafood Platter - It looks pretty stacked coming out, but wouldn't order this again. The selection of oysters that the chef chose were a little too sweet for our table's taste. The crispy shrimp roll was okay, but for the cost of the Seafood Platter, I would've expected a better roll... maybe even sashimi or nigiri instead. The best part of this dish was the ahi tuna poke, but it comes with a tiny plate of it. Our server was Sean, he checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. He was overseeing alot of tables, but still took great care of us. We had a single check, I am not sure what the group amount is that takes away the option to split checks. It makes sense for a group of 12 as that would be tough on the waiter splitting 12 ways, but be sure to ask at the start of your meal if you want to split the check to see if its possible or if you exceed the limit. Also, we were automatically charges a service fee, again it makes sense for a large group of our size, but not sure what the threshold is so another point to bring up if you need to know. Overall I had a positive experience here and would come back. The menu is pretty pricey, but the happy hour menu is a little more reasonable depending on what you order :) read more

After looking through the different options (steak, burgers, seafood, plant based, etc.) we went with the crispy shrimp roll and lobster shrimp ravioli. The ambiance is almost like a club atmosphere - high energy & somewhat loud but still able to easily carry on a conversation with a small group. The calamari appetizer was great. Due to the pandemic, it had been a long time since we had been to Earl's. We were here on a Saturday shortly after 5 p.m. For some weird reason all the other restaurants we checked in the mall, despite the early hour, were all booked up. So...that's how we landed at Earl's. Yet, even they had a wait to be seated but it was a half hour wait, compared to the other restaurants that had a 2 hour wait. It was exactly a half hour wait, so no complaints there. We even got a booth thus we weren't feeling cramped. One look at the menu showed us that they had made some major changes and not for the better. It's like with the new items and they higher prices, they are aiming to be more upscale. Of course, in all fairness, inflation is running rampant but still, the prices seemed a bit too much. I was hungry but not overly so. Nothing (besides a salad) proved to be a lighter meal. My husband, on the other hand, was really hungry. He noticed the bigger variety of steaks now available and settled on the 9 oz. prime sirloin that comes with green beans and mashed potatoes.. As for me, I settled on the blackened Cajun chicken breast that comes with warm potato salad with bacon, and coleslaw. To drink, I had an espresso martini while my husband had a light beer. As for my chicken dish --- I say "kudos" to the kitchen staff as the chicken was perfectly cooked. The meat was juicy and tender. However, they went very heavy on the blackened spice. As for the warm potato salad, the potatoes were properly cooked but it had both a sour and vinegary taste to it. The coleslaw was bland, which was fine. For some reason, they gave me 2 pieces of chicken. This was a lot of food---so much so that I left a lot on my plate. My husband thought his sirloin steak was of good quality, almost like filet mignon. He enjoyed it but, in the end, he, too, wished Earl's didn't tinker with the menu that much. I used to like to order bibimbap there. It was reasonably priced, not overly spicy and the meat was tender. Not sure why they took it away----most likely they thought it wasn't upscale enough. We came here for a friends birthday and the hostess (Emily) was absolutely phenomenal (best ever?). She was super friendly, and a problem-solver for an indecisive group. After showing us several seats during our last minute walk-in, she accommodated us with the best of both worlds - a large table by a window. When we had an unexpected extra show, she quickly added a seat. The food was good, cocktails were great, and service was excellent all-around. Awesome place! Went on a Thursday for dinner and it was pretty busy. So make sure you make a reservation! Cocktails are always a go! They had a special for a double Moscow mule for $10 and a single for $7. Not too shabby! Dinner was amazing! Ordered the surf and turf which was perfect for and indecisive person like me! Staff was amazing. Clean bathrooms! Which is always a plus! We parked on the top part of the parking garage in Tysons...where the movie theater was.
