Garrett himself came to my home and explained everything. He was very courteous and professional in person and very responsive later via text and phone when I needed to reach him. The installation crew was polite and didn't leave any mess behind. There was a couple of minor hiccups related to the scheduling of the work, but they were resolved satisfactorily. Please save your money!!!!! In my opinion this is a sham operation. We were charged $9,951.00 . The solar powered attic fan can be purchased for $299.00 and I believe Home Depot may carry the aluminum foil rolls. While installing the foil in the attic, one of the workers pulled a wire for the intercom system/surround sound, which resulted in a loud screeching sound throughout the entire house. We turned all the volumes down while they continued to work. After they left we turned the intercom system back on and it still was not fixed and the screeching sound continued. The install was approximately 04/21/2021. We made several calls to have the workers come back and fix the wire that they had pulled in the attic. The problem was that the owner, Garrett, already had our money, so he was not in any hurry to have his workers return here to fix the intercom wiring and the solar powered fan which was not working. After several weeks a worker was finally sent here, after several no shows because it was too late for them to make it here. I believe the workers name was Dave. When he did show up he said that the fan had not been properly plugged into the solar panel. As far as the intercom wire, he said that he could not locate the wire. We then called Garrett again and he suggested that we find someone to fix it. We told Garrett that this was his problem to fix and not our responsibility . Garrett became very annoyed and pissed off. He finally said he would have his own electrician show up the next Monday to fix the problem and then abruptly hung up on us. That has been 8 months again and still no electrician and no operational intercom system. Garrett was very calm and polite in making the sale to us, saying he was an ex-Marine. However, once he had our money and their workers had left, he wanted nothing else to do with us such as fixing their mistake. We also have not seen any drop in our PG&E rate/bill. They say in their contract that they will try twice to correct their mistakes. We've only had one additional service call in which they did not correct the problem, which still exists to this day. They also missed several places in the attic where they should have stapled their foil wrap but did not. This work was no where near a $9,000.00 + job. Garrett said that we would see at least a 40% savings in our heating and electrical bill which has not happened. Again, save your money......!!!! read more

I just had Eagle Shield installed a week ago and I highly recommend the product as well as Garrett and his team. My home gets warm during the summer but my big issue was my cold water running through the attic. My cold water was coming out at over 110 degrees. After getting Eagle shield installed, my home temperature remains comfortable and my air conditioner doesn't run as long to keep it cool. My cold water did not change so I called Garrett back and he got the issue taken care of quickly. I now have a cool home and cool water. Eagle Shield insulation is terrible, don't buy it. You'll spend a lot of $$$ for nothing. That's exactly what it did for my house "NOTHING". I have a legitimate issue and that is the house gets very cold and I wanted the heat to stay inside. Basically insulate my house better so I could reduce my heating bill. They installed their insulation in my attic and spent hours doing it. They guaranteed that this would keep the heat in and reduce my heating bill and it didn't do anything. Don't buy it if you're buying it for the same purpose I did. If its for another purpose, make sure you question them and then question them some more. Think about it before you decide to sign the dotted line because this thing didn't do my house ANY GOOD. WATCH OUT FOR EAGLE SHIELD INSULATION!!! BTW, They mentioned that I had to try it for 7 years before I went back to them. They gave me some BS about the product needing this much time to stabilize and actually showing a difference to insulate my house. Basically no complaints for 7 years. I thought I'd write a review on something other than food, so I started going through the different things that I have done this year (my mind gets fuzzy after a few months have gone by :) My wife & I had Eagle Shield installed in May of this year, and we are very glad we did. We live in an area where there isn't much tree cover, and so we get the sun all day long. We live in a single story 2500 sqft home, and we got the reflective insulation put in. Granted, it did not solve all our problems (we didn't expect it to - its insulation for cryin' out loud). But we do stay a lot cooler, and our A/C isn't needing to run as often. And that was the whole point. With the way PG&E is jacking up the price 5-6 times every year, I am hoping that the savings I get will offset that & not have my bill going up at all! Anyways, even though it was a big investment, I believe (and can feel) that I made a wise choice. One other thing, the rep - we'll call her Sally - was very professional and was not pushy in any way. My wife and I purchased this product 3 years ago, they told us that we would save up to 40 percent on our utilities. I was skeptical day 1 of the installation, and now 2 months have gone by and my utility bill is higher than it was without it. The representative told us that the installation would take 4 to 6 hours to install. The installers installed the product in 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was supposed to get a 6 year loan instead I got an 11 year loan. I have a l s and I have to leave this debt to my wife and there is nothing that I can do about it. Do not buy into this product or you well get robbed. I urge people to read the reviews. This product does not work it's a waste of money. My experience with Eagle Shield and owner Garrett Harwood has been nothing but great! The installers of the radiant barrier, and insulation were prompt, polite, efficient and very professional. Any and all questions that I had were addressed promptly from Mr. Harwood. I had sent an email on a late Saturday night, and found a reply waiting for me Sunday morning. Product is working extremely well, I have an existing attic gable fan, temperature controlled to operate at 85 degrees, the day of the install, the fan did not run at all, and it was 78 degrees that day. We set an appointment up to have Eagle Shield install a radiant barrier and a solar exhaust fan in our attic, add a whole house fan in our ceiling, and clean all of our existing ducts for our 3200 square foot home. The schedule was to start at 7:00 am last Monday. They sent out two crews, one for the duct cleaning and the other for install of barrier and fans. The guys showed up on time and ready to go. All six crew members were pleasant, fun, and knowledgeable. Tommy explained the duct cleaning process and that it also included sealing of every duct at the register. Most of our registers were installed with as much a 1/2 inch gap to the drywall which is typical construction practices if your home was built before 2010. I am pleased to share that now they are all taped up, sealed so we will not lose anymore energy from the large gaps. My wife was so pleased to see how they vacuum all the dust and goodies out of the ducks resulting in no debris or dust left for her to have to wipe up. David headed up getting both fans and radiant barriers installed in one day. You know how salesman can promise you the world so I was reluctant to think the whole house fan would bring in the cool air as promised. I questioned that we would achieve a possum 5 year return on our investment but it did make sense to install that radiant barrier to stop the current energy losses and get that attic cooled down. Tuesday and Wednesday had outside temps at 98 so this provided a real good test of our new Eagle Shield system. I am pleased to report we turned on the whole house fan Tuesday morning for one hour and the cool air swarmed into our home through the cracked windows to cool her home down to 72° by 8:00 am. This made it comfortable till 3 PM when we turned the air conditioner on till to 4 PM. We found the AC cooled the house down faster than previously. We did not use air conditioning the rest of the day and at 9 PM we turn the whole house fan on again and the outside cool air came rushing in. I never thought we could get by with using an air conditioner for only one hour on a day when temps are 98°. I can stick my head up in the attic during the day and it is not sweltering up there because the solar exhaust fan turns on at 80° so all that hot air gets out of the attic. So you can imagine how we highly recommend Eagle Shield and know why NASSA does too. If you are considering doing these kind of improvements in your home I would suggest to it as soon as you can. Im writing this review because as a first time homeowner, in a home built in 1967 which has zero insulation. I went onto Service Magic and a few local companies came up. I had McHale's in Concord come out and give us a quote...very reasonable quote, Dan was very very nice and easy to talk to. He said he was about a week out from his next available times. No pressure and let him know if we had any questions. Then last night we had Eagle Shield show up. I thought we would get the same thing, a regular contractor doing a few looks here and there and then a estimate on paper. Nope, instead we got a sales pitch for an hour asking us about our comfort level in the home (it was 7:15p and cold in the house already). She said my husband and I would not agree on most of the questions she was asking. Then went around the home for awhile and went up into the attic, checked our windows and the outside of the home in the dark. She also setup a display showing insulation with and without the "NASA SPACE" aluminum under a heat lamp system. She said that 80% of our heat was leaving us due to the attic and the rest was leaving from our new double pain windows and maybe the walls, but mostly the attic and then the windows. Our new double pain windows were 100% sealed but still most of the double pain windows are not effective when it comes to heat loss. ????? WTH??? OKAY???? So after our hour and a half meeting and her presentation she was not able to leave us any quote on paper. They don't do that unless you sign a contract? She gave us numbers, but they were SO EXPENSIVE! Our home is a 1276 sq ft rancher. She mentioned that financing was available and she would let us know what that was with the emailed me a quote but instead she called me asking if we had decided on what service we wanted. I said I needed to see prices. She said financing was available and that she ran the numbers manually. The charges: ATTIC: 4700 ATTIC AND ATTIC FAN: 6200 WINDOWS (SOME FILM THAT HELPS HEAT FROM ESCAPING): 3500 WALLS: 1500 So if we wanted to do it all it would be $319 for 5 years financing! We are first time home owners! You are kidding me...... She said we never want you to do it all at once but over the next 10 years you could have all of this done. The way they do it is to "code" now and cellulose is not code and can cause allergies. They are the only ones who do it to code in our area? Ya right! Apparently, their NASA stuff is the only stuff that is approved by energy star and pge. The worst part is that the price they give you includes your rebate from pge. Since ES sponsors them, they don't give you the PGE papers for the rebate (almost 1000) and they have to get you around the federal rebate. Apparently, she could show us how to fill out papers but I didn't believe that part at all. Well, we made our decision and we will not be going with Eagle Shield....After reading all the bad posts and after the long timeshare act, we are going with McHales. They get top reviews on YELP too! Thank god for YELP! PS...The Nasa stuff is great for people who live in the east coast or in hotter temps like AZ. For us here in California where temps are not as extreme, we don't really need the Foil Stuff in our homes. FYI..... read more

Very dissatisfied with this company. First, the strange way they presented their estimates on a white board. No written statements with contractor's numbers or any of the consumer protection information that a consumer can go to if dissatisfied. I should have looked at YELP to check on them because other reviewers have pointed the same problems that we experienced. The people who actually did the old insulation removal were "Affordable Insulation", no one in anything labeled EAGLE SHIELD. They left a mess in our garage and our back and side yard with loose insulation and insulation dust all over from their porous vacuum bag and machine. Clumps of insulation were all over the garage and driveway and a layer of dirt and dust seeped into our house. We called to complain and being assured the crew would clean up the next day, they did a very poor job. We had to haul out our tool chests, bikes and other belongings out of our garage and laundry room to hose off all the dirt and dust their crew left. Garrett Harwood, the president of Eagle Shield apologized and promised to pay for a cleaning service. After the bill was presented to Eagle Shield, they stiffed the cleaning people we got to clean up the dirty mess their insulation removal and insulation crew left. We never got an explanation from them as to why they did not pay the cleaning bill. read more

The owner came out, took a look at our house, and recommended reflective insulation in the roof and a solar powered attic fan. He mentioned several times that by doing these two things to our house, we would save about 35 percent energy use. The high energy savings would pay the $5500 installation cost in about 4 years so we gave the go ahead to have Eagle Shield install the insulation and fan. The installation took 1 1/2 hours for two people to complete in late December of 2016. We had very similar weather in January of 2017, so we had two very similar months to compare. We were very disappointed to see our January energy use was almost exactly the same as our December usage. No savings whatsoever between January with Eagle Shield and December without Eagle Shield. We feel a little ripped off by the performance of the product to date. We priced out the materials used and could buy very similar materials on Amazon for well below $2000. Add to this 2 people times 11/2 hours labor for a total of 3 hours. At $100 per hour, that works out to $300 to have it installed. Eagle Shield made a very good profit on the job, but failed to deliver the energy savings stated. I really wish I could give Eagle Shield a better rating because I enjoyed working with them. read more

We had Scott somebody, who was a total salesman with very little in the way of knowledge. Most of the "facts" presented were BS. He asked all sorts of personal questions unrelated to the business, which raised initial suspicions of fraud. He claimed my 4-5 inches of existing attic insulation was about R-5 equivalent. (More BS). I told him I didn't want to be romanced, just the facts about what best approach to supplement attic insulation. No, he insisted that we had to sit down and have a conference, and insisted on a able and two chairs to raise the seriousness of the meeting. These guys are very thorough and do a great job. Due to an oversight they missed one part of my basement when insulating -- my basement has two separate crawl spaces attached to it and they missed one. When I called to tell them this, they were very quick to come out and fix it. They are friendly and professional. My house now feels much warmer (a good thing in the winter!) and I expect it to be cooler in the summer, too. read more

We've had our insulation installed for a month now, and I have to say that we notice a big difference. Our house has a reverse floor plan, with the living/eating areas upstairs and the sleeping areas downstairs. It gets really hot upstairs on warm days. Our internal temp can be over 80° which means we're running the AC all day long. But since the installation our internal temp has not gone above 72° or 73° even on the day when it reached 90° outside. If this pattern continues we will reap the savings on our PG&E bill and pay for the Eagle Shield in less than 3 years. On top of that Garrett is a really great guy. It was a pleasure doing business with him. It's nice to know that now my wife and I have a hand in helping children in Africa get an education through Garrett's company. He gives 5% of all his proceeds to his charitable organization in Africa. read more

I would like to give a great review to Eagle Shield for their great work in my home. I have a 2 story home and it is very drafty and cold in the winter and miserable in the summer. I called Eagle Shield Inc. to come out and inspect and perform an energy audit to let me know what we need to do. After spending an hour inspecting using their thermal imaging camera, it showed that I needed to upgrade my insulation and wrap my ducts and I needed a solar attic fan. The representative Kim was very informative and polite and I appreciated she was low key and non pushy. I must admit I was worried when I read some reviews about them being pushy, however, my experience was great. I suspect that some of these reviews are fake and may be competitors. Just my opinion though, however, I feel this company is very professional and the pricing was great. I liked that Kim gave me a low cost option and a higher quality option and let me decide what was best for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I know this is 2018, but I'm still feeling like we got ripped off back in 2009, when Deedee Grant came out and gave us a quote, and convinced us that Eagle Shield insulation would save us tons of money on our electric bill. From day one, we NEVER saw any savings, and they even came out twice to (supposedly) install more insulation. I wish I had done my homework, and ask that anyone considering this company do so. We ended up installing solar panels a few years ago, which HAS made a tremendous difference in our electric bill. I can't believe these people are still in business. read more

I've got to say, after reading the reviews, I'm so happy I went with my gut feeling that there are some people out there that will always have a negative attitude no matter what & called anyway. I'm so glad I did! I have 2 houses that I wanted done(my daughters) & mine, both houses are un bearable in the summertime & the heating costs in the winter in my daughters house, are thru the roof(close to $300 monthly). I found out her house had no insulation at all & didn't understand how my Grandma(who bought the house brand new in '42) never put insulation in the house all those years! I spoke with Kim on the phone & set up the appt for estimates on both houses asking if financing was available? Which it was & I had the choice of 0% interest if paid in 18 months or 9.99% if I wanted to take my time paying it off. I chose the latter being I wanted to do both house at the same time. I was surprised when the guy who came to do the estimates was Garrett, the owner! Very nice & pleasant person to work with! I explained if wanted to do this to my house a few years ago when I saw them on TV but forgot the name,so until I saw them again the other day, I called immediately! I went with the reflective insulation & then asked how much more to do the walls w/blown in stuff? It to me was a no brainer, & did them both! 4-14-16 the work started & my daughters was finished with reflective insulation & solar fans in both attics(multi-level house), insulation blown in all outer walls!! My house was also started & completed with the reflective insulation & solar fan the same day(& as we agreed upon when scheduled) if the 2nd house couldn't be completed on Thurs they would come back Fri to blow the insulation in. And they did!! I would rather they take their time & do a good job than rush or cut corners just to get it done faster!! I also would like to shout out about Chris & his helper(forgot his name) that did the reflective insulation, I would like to say very AWESOME, Punctual & PROFESSIONAL employees!! If I ever need work done again I'd use them in a heart beat!! I recommend them highly & will be updating this summer to let you know how much the difference is from previous summers!! Garrett came out to tell us about Eagle Shield last November. My wife and I were very impressed with the presentation and Garrett's knowledge of the product and his professionalism. It made sense to us. I even called Garrett with a few questions and he actually answered his phone. We scheduled the installation for early December. Wow! The installers were so clean and so polite. They cleaned the ducts thoroughly and showed us everything they were doing along the way. They had me look in the attic to explain what was done, how they wrapped the duct work, and the little extras they provided. When they finished you would never know they were here! That's how well they cleaned up. We went through the worst of winter so far and haven't had to turn our heat up like we have in the past to keep the winter dampness out. We're looking forward to seeing the savings with our summer air conditioning. If you're looking into this type product, go no further. Eagle Shield is number 1. We had this insulation installed over a year ago, and cannot be happier. Everything that was promised was delivered (our house is cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter, we use the AC/heater much less). Our bills have been on the order of 50% lower. We did install a new heating/cooling system a few months before the insulation, so I am not totallly sure how much of the energy savings goes to the insulation vs. the updated heating/cooling system, but I am not complaining. Would definitely recommend considering this product. read more

An Eagle Shield person came to my house, arrived on time, and placed booties over the shoes to keep from tracking anything in the house (which was nice). They used the thermal imaging scanner and it detected some issues in the downstairs area (gaps in baseboards and sliding glass door), but I was really interested in what was found with regards to the attic. The scanner showed some spots in the ceiling where the insulation was thin or missing because people that had been in the attic (roof leak that needs fixing) had moved the insulation but not put it back. They peeked around in the attic but never got inside and looked around. Afterward we filled out a survey and then the 'timeshare' like presentation started. It wasn't too painful, but I would have preferred not to sit through. I just want the facts! It was suggested that we get the Eagle Shield reflective insulation and get enough blown in insulation to bring the current insulation up to R30. Sounded good. I was quoted a price of $2700 for a roughly 1000 sq. ft. attic. I didn't know if this was high or low, but it was twice what I wanted to spend. I got a consultation from EcoAttics and for the exact same installation it was $800 !!! Same blown in insulation, same radiant barrier stuff (although it may not be Eagle Shield branded) that's supposed to be 97% reflective, etc, etc. He also went up in the attic, looked around a lot, verified my recessed lights were IC rated, and made some suggestions. He never tried to sell me. Only issues I had were that he showed up about 15 minutes late and didn't put booties on (although he asked if I wanted him to take his shoes off...which was cool). But since he had to walk around in the attic I can understand why he didn't want to take his shoes off. Eagle Shield is definitely trying to sell a product they could charge significantly less for. Does their service and installation make up for it? Not so sure. I do like the fact that they don't use Day workers....but $1900 ?!??! read more

I had the energy audit and was convinced that the attic insulation would help to lower my energy bill. It is nearly 2 years now since the insulation (they call radiant barrier) was installed and to this day there has been no difference in the warmth of my home from before it was installed. I have complained to the company, the BBB and Contractor's License Board but the issue has never been resolved. They removed the blanket that i had around my hot water heater and placed a thin roll of foil over a portion of the tank which supposedly was to help in some way? Their Terms and Conditions of lifetime product warranty and 5 year satisfaction guarantee states that if you are not completely satisfied at the end of the 5 year period with the performance a complete refund of the purchase price will be paid to you less any energy savings realized by you from the performance of the product. in order to avoid exclusion under the satisfaction guarantee, and if you fail to claim your refund as required in the certificate within forty-five days following the guarantee expiration date you are not covered. The CEO Garrett Harwood returned my calls after quite some time and I didn't realize that my phone conversation was recorded until I had hung up. In this conversation Mr Harwood said "We don't give refunds". By the way... I still have that recording. As far as I am concerned, I give this company a THUMBS DOWN! read more

Do not waste your time with this company! Customer service is the worst! I called two weeks ago to schedule an appointment for Feb 8th at 12:30pm. I specifically mentioned to the representative that I would be overseas during the week prior to the 8th. I was also not informed that someone would be calling to confirm the appointment. Today is Feb 8th. I drove 15 minutes to rental house, after waiting for 15 minutes I called and the representative said she would call the technician and have him call to give me an ETA. After another 15 minutes, I called and a different representative tells me that the appointment was cancelled. Supposedly Jillian called to confirm the appointment on Feb 4th and I said I did not know who she was and hung up. The representative did not offer any solution to rectify the issue, at the very least apologize and reschedule. So I said I will find someone else. I called back to file a complaint and requested for a supervisor. The representative said, what is this in regards, I said the poor service and I would like to please speak with a supervisor. She said, please hold and then a second later came back on. I said are you a supervisor, she said yes. Well, why didn't she say that the first time? I asked her name, she said "Wendy". I explained to Wendy what transpired and she said, it is company policy to call to confirm the appointment. I said, well, I would have known that had it been communicated to me. Wendy proceed to say, my complaint is that the rep did not put notes in that I would be oversees - completely missing the point. It is no wonder company's are transferring their customer service operations oversees. My complaint is as follows: 1) No communication that I should be expecting a call to confirm the appointment 2) Lack there of on the representative's part with whom I booked the appointment to note I would be overseas. 3) No communication that the appointment was cancelled. 4) lack of integrity, a representative who does not say she is a supervisor comes back on the phone and claims to be a supervisor. 5) lack of basic courtesy to at the very least apologize for the inconvenience. Last but not least, Eagle Shield from their representatives have shown the lack of integrity, customer service and basic courtesy which as a business professional is a reflection of the company's management and leadership and transpires into the products the company produces. Further more, KRON 4 has lost any and all credibility with me in recommending any business. read more

I watched a TV presentation and decided to have someone come and do an analysis in Rough and Ready, California. The owner of Eagle Shield was the one to do the presentation. He was a consumate professional ... on time, sharp and informative on his product. Desiring to provide the best service for our home he determined that the main product was not appropriate for our octagon home as there was virtually no space between the ceiling and our metal roof. However EAGLE SHIELDS window covering was appropriate and we are extermely happy with this product. I wish other companies operated with the ethical standards of Eagle Shield. I decided to get reflective insulation from Eagle Shield because I have a friend whom I visit quite often that had reflective insulation installed in his house. We had a few different insulation contractors come out before choosing ES and we were really happy with them. We had a bit of an unusual project because we first had them vaccuum our existing blown in- then we worked up there only to have them come back to do the insulation much later. It was a HUGE job to vacuum- as there was probably close to 18" of poorly installed blown in. The guy who did the work was up in a scorching hot attic for something along the lines of 8 hours straight with hardly a break- and he did a great job. With the attic clean, we then did a lot of electrical work up there and other prep before having them come back about a month later to finish blowing in and installing a radiant barrier. (Nothing like working in the clean attic pulling electrical cable to be impressed with someone working up there for 8 hours straight and wading through insulation...) This is why I am impressed: There had been a miscommunication about the radiant barrier and the blown in. We had originally talked about putting the radiant barrier on top of the blown in before deciding to put it on the rafters instead- different reasons for overlay vs. rafters and we changed our minds. We had talked about the change but there was some confusion (no big deal). But what that meant is that there were actually two work teams: one for blowing and one for radiant barrier. If the radiant is on the blown in, the blown team comes first. But if it is on the rafters- it is best to put it on the rafters and then blown it in because when the team installing the radiant on the rafters tromps around on the newly blown in... it compresses it and ruins it. Because of the miscommunication- to which we take some responsibility- the blown in team arrived first with the radiant barrier crew following several hours later. What would have been typical and I actually expected... is for them to blown in the insulation and claim that it wouldn't matter if it got walked on as the guys did the radiant barrier on the rafters. No. Instead they started work and were doing a lot of work and then took a break while the radiant team came in. The blown in crew then went back and did a really detailed job of making sure that everything was perfect. What this meant is that their "break" was several hours and their day was easily twice as long as they had planned. It was a LOT of extra time for them away from their families and I knew they drove far. Bottom line is that they worked extra hard to fix a miscommunication that was equally culpable on both parties. As for the work we had them do and the price: The price we paid for them to clean the attic and install both blown in and a radiant barrier was actually about the same as one contractor quoted us for JUST vacuuming the attic since it was such a big job! We felt that it was entirely reasonable and actually quite a good deal cost wise. Both my husband and I are very savvy in construction and are very difficult judges of workmanship- we are rarely happy with residential contractors and quite picky. We were very pleased with the work that both crews did and very happy with the final results. Our experience with choosing Eagle Shield: Garrett came out to do the assessment and bid and was very professional. He was far more knowledgeable than the other contractors who came out. I have read that people felt that he tried to sell them on things they didn't need. I actually had a completely different experience as he talked us out of some quite costly services that they could have done- specifically insulating the perimeter walls. I know that they could have made a lot of money on that job and would have done it well- but Garrett convinced us that it was not much of a cost effective strategy in our house and I believe him. As I mentioned previously, my husband and I are quite knowledgeable and he clearly understood what he was talking about which I truly cannot say for some of his competition. Review contract carefully. The installation team completed their work in short order. The crew was friendly and tried to address my questions/concerns. Unfortunately the contract issues were outside their scope. Still, they followed through with their promise to do a complete cleanup. There was no "hard sale", however the contract language reads differently than Garrett's (CEO) explanation. From my first contact with the company, the scheduling of my assessment, and my selection of services, the process was not seamless but I am hopeful that there will be a good outcome. I have not observed much difference in the colder temperatures but I hope to see a benefit from the costly attic radiant insulation and solar fan, in the summer months. If this is proven, I will update my review. There was confusion regarding services to be performed. The contract was misleading and did not provide any service for improving function of ducts under the house. That being said, the project was vastly overpriced. Lastly, I do not recommend financing with GreenSky (17.99%). The paperwork did not include the actual cost of the project. It lists available credit and an amount 3 times the project cost, which you would pay outside the 18 month window. read more

We set up an appointment last week to get a quote on the NASA insulation and attic fan installed. The owner, Garrett showed up which was a little surprising being that the business is roughly 1.5 hours from us. Was very glad that it was him that came. He was not only very informative and thorough but also a very nice man. My husband and I had a great connection with him right away. We were impressed with the data he provided and decided to move forward and have both installations done. He got someone out the next day. The guys who installed were very polite and professional. It's only been a few days but we can tell a big difference already. Our air conditioner rarely turns on. Our home is so much more comfortable now. I only wish we had done this sooner as I spent the last two summers very pregnant! Highly recommend Eagle Sheild! Thanks guys!!! read more

Let's make this short and sour. Paid $3000 for a product that absolutely DID NOT WORK. Our home does not stay cooler in the summer or stay warmer in the winter. When we complained about this and they came back out to the house, we were told it doesn't work with high ceilings. Funny thing - we are told this after we pay $3000. And try to get them to call you back - good luck. Lastly, friends referred us and were supposed to get $100 for the referral. Well, they didn't because we used a different salesperson. After hearing a recommendation from a radio talk show, I contacted the company for a free energy audit, and a free hot water heater blanket, for setting up a home appointment. The man who came to my house, was very unprofessional, and didn't seem to know exactly what he was doing. He wandered around my house, with his special heat sensing gun, not really showing me or telling me anything, kind of muttering to himself. Then it was time to look in my attic, which he did, although only by standing at the top of the ladder, not actually going up into it to really look around. He then sat down at the table, fumbled around with some figures and told me it would be about $5600, to put the radiant barrier into my attic, and add gable fans...when I posed the question to him regarding his claim of the massive savings I could expect by doing this, if he could guarantee those savings, he switched gears, offered a large discount if I would commit right then...when I pressed him for some sort of guarantee to back up his claims, he quickly left, telling me he would have someone from his office work out the details, and get back to me...and my heater blanket would be sent out right away. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!! Shame on the talk show for recommending such a rip-off type of company, and shame on the company for making claims that either cannot, or choose not to stand behind. read more

My old house had high ceilings and I had to have my A/C and Heater on all the time and the house would loose it's heat fast in the winter and would stay hot all night during the summer, needless to say that my PG&E bill was very high. When I moved to my new house in a warmer area and the fact that this new house was much larger and also had high ceilings, I was worried about heating and cooling it and trying to keep the temperature constant and avoid sharp swings in the temperature such as we had in the old house , so I installed 3 A/C units in different parts of the house to take care of that problem, Then I heard about Eagle Shield from a friend and I asked them to come in and do an evaluation, after they inspected my house, the recommended their radiant barrier insulation system to be installed in my attic , they did a very clean and efficient job, they were in and out fast and clean and I must say that I am extremely satisfied with the results, I am saving a lot of money on my PG&E bill, my very large house has a very pleasant overall constant temperature and I very seldom use only one of my 3 A/C Heating units. I had this "stuff" installed in my attic over a year ago and my energy costs are the exact same. Total scam and a rip-off, close to $4,000 for aluminum foil laid over insulation.
