WARNING. i called them set an appointment for them to come diagnose my ac unit it quit working…read more I told the lady I replaced the fan motor and the capacitor. and she said ok and that a tech would be out in two days between 2 and 4 pm I said great two days go by they show up the guy looks at my unit and said we can't work on your unit because you touched it sorry I said excuse me he replied ya it's our policy that if you touch your unit in any way we will refuse to work on it because we are retarded we can't fix units that have been touched by their owners sorry. the lady on the phone could have said something about this ridiculous policy before setting up the appointment. but no she didn't. they like to waste peoples time. really pisses me off I could have had a real tech show up and actually look at the unit instead of wasting my time and energy on this company. let this be a WARNING to anybody that calls them and you've touched your unit because they will waste your time. if you need your ac fixed don't call these retards it makes no sense to me. that's all they had to do was diagnose my unit and say this is what its going to cost to fix it and then I would say ok go ahead and fix it I would have paid them I would be happy they would be happy no bad reviews. Patricia in the office is so sweet and makes sure we are set with appointments, or if we are in need of any heating/ air conditioning needs/ have any questions. Terry, the technician, is kind & respectful. He comes to do the routine check up on our home system throughout the year before big weather seasons. I cannot say enough positive things about the job they did and how well organized and efficient they were. I would highly recommend them for anyone in need of HVAC work. Long version: I had Oakley heating and air come by to evaluate and change my central air conditioning, zoning of the house (upstairs and downstairs), and put a mini split system in the garage. It was a three and half day job! Even though it was a large project, I felt involved in every step. The removal, installation, and zoning went without a hitch. The crew was nice enough to wear shoe covers and cover the house with blankets as to not cause any damage or bring dirt into the house. A big plus was that Terry was respectful of my time and my love for cars. It rained on the days of installation and he asked if it was alright if I parked my cars outside in the rain so they can stage the large equipment. It was refreshing to see they were not just interested in doing the job, but also to take care of the actual homeowners. Again, I could not recommend Oakley Heating and Air!

Last Fall (or was it the year before?) our furnace stopped working, and I called Cali HVAC for service. They sent Oleg fairly quickly, and he did a good job repairing it; in fact, he proved himself to be very conscientious when, after replacing a circuit board that fixed the problem, he didn't like the way one part on the board was oriented, so he came back and replaced that board with a different one that fit better. He could have left it as is, since it was working, and I probably never would have known. In addition to fixing the problem pretty quickly, Oleg was also very informative and polite, answering all questions with patience and no attitudes. So, now I have moved into a new house, and even though the HVAC works, I want to have them check it out, and hopefully educate me about filters to use, what maintenance it might need, and how to make it quieter.

The warranty then refused coverage, saying the unit is still under manufacturer warranty. I repeatedly requested documentation to verify the warranty myself, but never received anything. Due to the lack of support, I hired two independent HVAC companies, both of which confirmed the real issue is a refrigerant leak--not the control board. Had I relied on the original diagnosis, I would have paid for an unnecessary repair while the actual problem remained unresolved. I am very dissatisfied with both the home warranty provider and their contractor due to the misdiagnosis, poor communication, and lack of follow-through. Please do me a favor. Don't hire them.
