Josh installed a new AC system today. With his sons and a technician, the work was done in three hours, everything was checked, even the heater and the attic tubes. From the very beginning there was no sales pitch, just plain and direct professional assessment and then clean execution of the work. The price was better than anywhere else, and besides, everyone in the team was friendly and polite. Solid, comes to mind when describing the experience with Jim's Air Systems. Glad to have found them. read more

Josh of Jim's Air Systems and I connected on Friday and he, his son Jacob, and Scott installed the furnace, a/c unit, and the Air Scrubber today already (Monday). Josh is a very straightforward, honest guy with a long running family business; an excellent trouble shooter; and his price cannot be beaten for the value. It was the first time in a long while I felt I could trust a guy found on the wide world of web to do the job well and he truly delivered. I was going to only have a really old (ab. 50yrs) furnace replaced but Josh's integrity (and the quote!) spoke to me so I also - finally! - will have a working air conditioning as well, come the inevitable brutal summer! Yay! The job was done really well (even the a/c breaker fuse replaced when the problem of lack of "juice" arose), clean up admirable, and all my pesky questions answered more than satisfactorily. I cannot recommend Jim's Air Systems highly enough! read more

We hired Josh (Jim's Air Systems) to remove and reinstall our solar system for roof work, with his written and verbal guarantee that he would return to walk us through how to operate it properly. That was five months ago. Once payment was made, he vanished. Despite repeated calls and texts over this entire period, he has never once responded. This is not just poor service -- it's a complete abandonment of the customer after being paid in full. Reliability, accountability, and basic professionalism were entirely absent in our experience. I strongly caution anyone considering his services: once he's been paid, do not expect him to honor his word or support his work in any way. read more

Jim's Air Systems (Josh) did a wonderful job of installing our new HVAC system, including furnace, heat pump, evaporator coil and thermostat. The work was completed in one day by a three person team at a very fair price. Josh also arranged for all government testing that was required and the work passed the tests with flying colors. All of our questions were answered in a professional manner. read more

I was in need of a HVAC replacement due to the age of my current unit which no longer worked for AC and/or heating. After some time using portable AC units and Oil-filled electric radiators, I finally decided it was time for a change after seeing my PG&E bill from over the holidays. After sourcing a number of quotes, Jim's Air Systems came out on top. The cherry on the cake was having the professionalism and expertise of Josh explaining my options, what would work best in my home, and the reasons behind the conclusions. I felt immediately comfortable to trust Josh and his family- run business with my home. The turnaround time from inquiry to call out inspection and subsequent 1-day installation was remarkable! Even better, I was able to work throughout the installation with my dog in another room. Excellent service from Josh and the team, thanks so much! read more

Josh was very responsive and discussed the options for our new two-zone hybrid heat pump/gas HVAC system so that we got the best solution for our needs. Jim's team was great to work with and completed the installation in less than 2 days. They also provided a thorough orientation to the new capabilities and thermostat configuration and controls for each zone. We highly recommend this company. read more

Very quick and honest, first ones that never sell me anything. They on time and will not rip you off

Very pleased with the replacement /installation of our new furnace and AC system. Josh was very helpful, fair and reliable in the entire process. We feel like we got a competitive price, quality products & had a trained and knowledgeable installation crew. Hoping to have little need to contact them other than for maintenance- service, but I feel like I can trust them if a need arises anytime in the future. read more

Josh was wonderful from start to finish! I contacted him for an appointment for an estimate for a new HVAC system for our condo and he came the same day. He was extremely knowledgeable about our unique hydronic heating system which is not as popular. But he gave us all of our options in terms of repair, partial replacement, and full replacement. He was the only company we met with who did not try to sell us a full system right off the bat.. he really listened! We did opt for a full system replacement and we could not be happier! Josh, Jim, and their crew came and were extremely professional and made us feel safe as they all wore masks. They took a lot of care during the replacement process, covering the floors and also vacuumed when they left! Our new system was replaced about a month and a half ago and works like a dream! Our AC finally works which was great timing for the heatwave that hit the East Bay a couple of weeks ago. This new system is much more energy-efficient which saves us money and so worth the investment! HVAC replacement is a substantial investment and we could not be happier with the service and results! Thank you Josh and Jim!! read more

Josh and crew were great. I had done some research on ductless mini-split AC units for my garage and received a mixed bag of responses from various vendors. Josh immediately knew what I was talking about, quickly assessed what we'd need and gave me a very reasonable quote. His team came out to do the install and was in and out in much less then a full work day. The install is clean, low profile and everything works perfectly. Our garage is now the most comfortable environment in our home which means at some point I'll be calling Josh back to tell us why our interior is so inefficient. :) The highest of recommendations. read more

If I could give them 100 stars I would. This dates back to the summer of 2018. My central AC unit broke down. I sent out one of those angie's list claims for AC repair. The only person who reached out to me was Josh. At the time, money was tight and I couldn't afford the cost. Fast forward to February of 2020 when I was finally able to pay for the work, I reached out to Josh (I made sure to save his number) and asked if he would still be able to help me, he said yes without hesitation. He sent his team out to my place, Scott and Jim were not only very friendly but were so professional with their jobs. I was a bit worried because my HVAC is a little on the older side but Scott and Jim made it look too easy. After enduring two brutal summers with no AC and a possible mutiny from my kids, we got it back on! Josh didn't have to help me but he did and I couldn't be any more appreciative of him. Don't look anywhere else for service. Contact Jim's Air Systems. They're the best in the area. True professionals in their field. Thanks guys, we'll done! read more

Just had our old furnace and A/C unit replaced by Jim's Air Systems. Josh came out quickly to provide us a competitive quote and we were able to schedule the work to be done within a few days. Scott and Richard did the replacement and were great. They were very respectful of our newly renovated home and seemed like they really enjoyed what they were doing. We highly recommend them! read more

Jim from Jim's Air Systems was great to work with. Called Jim after we had one of the big A/C companies do a pre-season "service check" on our HVAC system. After the "service check" the tech said we had some issues on our 13 year-old system and it should be replaced, this would be to the tune of $12000.00, or, we could make repairs that would be roughly the same cost. Called Jim and he came out and looked at the system, made some repairs and replaced a part. A/C is working again just fine and we were charged a very fair price, Jim saved us over $11,000. Jim explained everything he did and we couldn't be happier, we will not call anyone else for any future HVAC needs. We can't say enough good things about Jim and would recommend him and his company to anyone in need of HVAC repairs or replacement. read more

Joseph and his crew did an amazing job with replacing our entire hvac system. There was one little hiccup but Joseph was responsive and looked into it in a timely manner. Even though the hiccup wasn't from his work he took care of it otherwise. His quote came in the lowest and we now have cold cold air coming out our vents, before it was somewhat cold and took forever to cool the house. read more

Our air conditioner has been working ... ish ... only if we put stop-leak in it yearly, a process that is not at all economical. We obtained a few estimates for AC replacement from reputable companies with 5 - star YELP ratings, but the prices were prohibitive and we just felt that we could do better. A friend recommended Jim's Air Systems and put me in touch with the owner (who is Josh, not Jim ... probably inherited the company). Josh was exceptionally thorough just explaining our options on the phone, before we'd even met. He is clearly a subject-matter expert. He prepared us for the worst, but his worst case scenario was significantly less expensive than the competition's, When it came time to get the job done, within a few minutes of looking at our system, he told us that we were in luck - the coil was fine. Best case scenario, yay! He did need to replace the A/C unit, but we expected that. He and his colleague went over everything in the system with a fine-toothed comb, carefully cleaned up after themselves, and then took the time to show us a few features of our existing HVAC system that we didn't even know about. I wholeheartedly recommend Jim's Air Systems for their friendly and helpful service, their expertise, their competitive prices, and (what I consider the most important thing) their honesty. These guys are awesome. read more

Best service! Our air conditioner fizzled out during the scorching heat wave. We called many have companies and most didn't even return calls. Of course they're busy during the heat wave, And a few gave astronomical estimates that had us in shock! We received a rave referral from a friend so we called Jim's Air. Josh got back to us, came out to give an estimate right away and gave an estimate that blew away the competition! He and his awesome crew showed up right on time, laid down tarps and completely replaced all the old ducts, air and heating units with Trane equipment. We were astonished they completed everything in one quick day! Expert, prompt, clean, efficient and friendly. Can't recommend more highly!! Thanks Josh and crew! read more

Josh came in with a fair bid for the replacement of our furnace and AC unit. He was able to answer all our questions and scheduled us in quickly. The best thing is that the large temperature difference we dealt with for the last 10 years between the front and back of the house is now resolved due to adding 2 additional registers. Thanks guys for providing us with a warm and comfortable home! read more

I am so impressed with Jim's Air Systems! I had a problem with my AC and Jim's gave me same day service. They showed up on time as promised and diagnosed an unusual problem with the fan that was kind of hard to detect. I cannot give Jim's Air Service a positive review for several reasons. I had an air conditioner and new duct work installed in 2017. The installation of the air conditioner was poor. The unit was not sealed completely in two areas, the refrigerant line was in the dirt in one location, the insulation was torn during installation and the compressor starts and stops loudly. The only item fixed was the refrigerant line after I informed them of all the issues. Had I not gone under the house to inspect their work, I doubt it would have been fixed. I asked him to come back and make sure the compressor was operating properly, but he never had the time. Poor customer service and workmanship is too common now. read more

Josh and his crew replaced my entire single family home HVAC system, repairing my ducts and also replacing my hot water heater with a tankless model. He was responsive, knowledgeable, fair and his entire crew was respectful, timely, and professional - even going out of their way to clean up a few other things around the house. The new system has been in place for over six months and works like a dream. He'll be my first call and first recommendation for any future HVAC or water heater needs. read more

While I was mostly happy with the original install 2 years ago of a new heating and AC system (there were some issues, but the overall price was good enough to overlook them), I was disappointed when I called a couple weeks ago to try and get some follow-up service since the furnace seemed to have died. Left a couple of phone messages on his cell and an email through his website. No response. Even if he didn't want to come out again at this point, a phone call or email would have been nice. Very disappointed at this point. Update: should have put this up a long time ago... anyway, after I posted this review, they contacted me and said I must be "mistaken" with the name of the company, that there are lots of "Jim" AC companies and I must have tagged the wrong one. I verified with them that the name of the owner matched who I wrote the certified checks to... and never heard back from them again. That was even more disappointing -- that they didn't even try and do anything to correct the situation even after reaching out to me about the review. read more

I have worked with Josh and Jim's Air Systems for about a year now. They installed a new heater and AC along with some duct work and the level of service, the price, timeliness, and cleanliness have been above and beyond what I was expecting. I have had a couple of issues with dampers in the duct work and some air flow issues since the install but Josh/Scott have been absolutely wonderful in accommodating me and dealing with the issues in a very timely manner. Especially during the hottest days of the summer when they are swamped with service calls, cooling/heating emergencies, etc. Josh/Scott have even taken them time to explain and visually show/teach me how things work so I have a better understanding as to how the units work and so that I can troubleshoot the issues myself should I choose to. That has been very much appreciated. If I can solve the issue myself during a heat wave and not have to wait for a technician to come out, I will do that! I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Jim's Air Systems for your home's heating and cooling service/needs. read more

This company rocks! After being soaked for $143.00 from another local company to tell me my Furnace and Air were old and not working (duh, that 's why I called it is 30 years old!) and providing no solution or bid after 2 days, I called Josh from Jim's Air Systems. He came out that night , looked at everything, gave me a bid on the spot and stated that he could have it done by the end of the week. As it was over a hundred degrees all week we were ecstatic to hear this. The work was extremely clean and fast and everything works excellent now. Finally got a bid from the other place today...$1500.00 higher!! I can't say enough good things about this company! read more

If you're looking for HVAC service in the Brentwood area I highly recommend Joshua from Jim's Air Systems. I called on a Saturday early afternoon. Joshua was able to come out that same day early evening. He fixed the problem, was extremely informative, professional, and service oriented. I was greatly appreciative as my mom had just returned to a new home after being hospitalized for 3 months. She's on oxygen full-time and her converter unit heats up the house significantly. With breathing issues, the heat was a concern for her health. I was extremely appreciative of the fast response and terrific customer service. I'll be sure to refer this service in the future. Thank you! read more

I generally do not write reviews, but this experience was the exception! I was referred to Josh by a friend, after he completed many hours of due diligence. Josh was always quick to respond to my texts and calls, explaining different systems and their energy efficiency, as well as financing options available through the county. We agreed on the best unit for my size home and his crew was there the next day! The two guys were extremely professional and personable, ensuring their work was done to perfection! Once the installation was complete they answered my questions on HEPA room filters (I have horrible allergies!), etc. These were only suggestions, with no desire to sell me on anything! It's often difficult to find businesses who are owned by honest individuals and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I highly recommend Josh and his crew for any HVAC needs you might have!! read more
