We have used Blue Star Heating and Air Conditioning for the last few years, and they have consistently provided excellent service. Their technicians are always friendly, professional, and, most importantly, highly skilled. They perform a thorough inspection and maintenance of the entire system, taking the time to clean and check everything carefully. When they're finished, the air is noticeably colder and smells fresher. Unlike some companies that rush through the job, Blue Star takes the time to do the work right. What I appreciate most is that they never try to upsell parts or services that aren't needed. Their honesty, attention to detail, and quality workmanship have earned my trust, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable HVAC service. read more

This is my second time using this company in four years. I have to say that their customer service is five star. The young man that came out, Colton, was professional, expedient, competent and courteous. There was no "up-sell", but when I asked about a service, Colton explained it and provided a cost. I will be doing the service this summer. I called the business to speak to a manager and the owner ( Jeff Scalier) answered the phone! I complimented Colton for his service call. Jeff was proud of his employee and the longer I stayed on the call, it was evident where Colton gets his excellent customer service. Blue Star will be my first call for my future HVAC needs. read more

Great from the start! Our first with them was a few years ago, when Terry did a tune-up and gave us his perspective of our aged system. He told us 5 more years tops. He was totally honest and very friendly. A year later, the condenser went out so replaced it and decided we needed to replace the entire system the following year. The following year, they gave us a great estimate (we found out from someone else what they paid another company for their same-size house and it was quite a bit more). We contracted them immediately to replace our heating and cooling system. Entire job done hassle-free over a couple of days. Very happy with the service we got and continue to get as we use their post-installation service. Everyone we've dealt with are professional and friendly. We highly recommend them. Check them out, you won't go wrong! read more

Dennis came by to schedule an estimate. I got a timely response after putting in a request for a consultation to replace my existing home's existing ac and heating on blue star's website. Dennis was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions regarding install. He and I both agreed that installing a heat pump was a recommended solution along with a new air handler to replace my gas furnace. The quote I got was super competitive compared to other quotes we received. We scheduled install for a Friday and Travis and Terry arrived on time. They were super professional and diligent with their work. They were able to complete the install and are going to schedule a follow up visit to install one last component since there was an issue with this last part they had. I couldn't be more happier with the system and the quality of work they put in. Don't hesitate to reach out to these guys, especially if you live in Pittsburgh, Antioch, or Brentwood. These guys are the real deal. I'll be reaching out to them to also negotiate getting regular service to keep my system well maintained and operating optimally, especially with the recent heat wave we experienced this past 4th of July! read more

I'm a contractor who works and lives in Trilogy @ Rio Vista. Dennis came to our house and evaluated the A/C unit that was originally installed. He was able to do a Title 24 calculation and determine that a 3 1/2 ton unit would service our square footage. We had a 3 ton that never kept up when the temps rose above 90 outside. Today the service team, Trevor Travis and Gabe set us up right. They were thorough, professional and courteous. I could tell they take pride in their work because they took our compliments the right way. Jeff, you have a good team. Thank you. read more

Blue Star Heating and Air came highly recommended by an electrician that was doing work for me. This company is a godsend. We went through 5 different companies prior to a friend's recommendation! Not only are they fair priced (nearly half to 1/3 of what other companies asked!!) , they offer the best quality systems. Plus...they're local!! They diagnosed our system and determined the ideal unit based on mathematics.....taking the guesswork out of the whole process. We are so relieved, thankful and happy! the whole team...Travis, Draco, Colton et al, are professional and just good people. Wow! Wow! Wow! Amazing service and work. These guys were responsive to all my needs. I had an old Goodman unit and it was time for a new system. Jeff and his team recommended a Bryant system which met all my needs. They finished the same day they started. The technicians were professional and very helpful. The best company ever! In this holiday season my heater went out. I am senior and I have very hard and painful life when it is cold in the house. I called Blue Star , they were referred to me by a friend. Even though many of their technicians are out for the holidays , they were able to help me quickly . Jeff promised to help. Sabrina scheduled me the next day. They were able to keep their word. Colten arrived on time, was attentive to all little things, made sure my intermittent problem would not come back. He also took time to explain why he was confident what he diagnosed was correct. He fixed it!!! Value of the service is beyond and above the duty. I will definitely recommend Jeff and Blue Star team highly. I will be a returning customer for life! Next year I will call them just for maintenance , because I TRUST them. Thank you! read more

Blue Star is highly recommended. We appreciated their punctual, and highly qualified team members that have such professionalism and skill! Travis and Colten in particular really stepped up getting our family through a heat spell, and they were such a life savers! Their prompt, reliable service was exceptional. We recently purchased a hybrid HVAC so that we could take advantage of our solar. After doing a lot of research and then asking for quotes, selecting Blue Star was an easy decision. The owner, Dennis, came most prepared and actually took various measurements so that he could hone in on the most perfect system for us - no one else did that! Everything in our installation went perfectly throughout the day. Even when they encountered an issue (which they did a few times), they discussed, asked me, discussed again and then implemented the best solution. Communication from this company is above average, something others should notice! At the end of the day, installation completed, all testing and sign-off completed and then it was just a billing cycle to see just how efficient we were. Well, well, for the 2 weeks of 4 weeks in the bill for our first glimpse, the charge for gas and electric was negligible. It won't be that way next month for one of our coldest months in a long time, but I also won't be spending $100's for gas either (of course, depending on how much solar we get). Wow, wow, wow --- just goes to show that when you are an expert, know what you are talking about, and, have your customer's best interest at heart, the result is making your customer successful, which in turn is 100% customer satisfaction. If you need a new or upgraded HVAC, you would not be getting all best possible quotes and service if you don't call Blue Star and have Dennis prepare a quote. We highly recommend Blue Star!!! read more

Blue Star deserves MULTIPLE GOLD STARS ! Installing a full Mini-Split HVAC system in my 5 bedroom multi-level 1930's house. Without exception each member of the team was very knowledgeable and competent at each phase of the: installation, testing and turn-over of the system. Additionally, each member was cordial and pleasant. Had a change of heart of the location of one of the Mini-Split Heads, and this was met with: "We will move it, We want you to be Happy" MUSIC TO MY EARS ! I am certain that Jeff who runs the joint will be there to help with any issues in the future, not expecting any issues but he is a guy of integrity and good business practices. Terrific Terry did the initial & final walkthrough and was monitoring the job throughout and he lived up to his nickname. Our 25 year old A/C finally gave out. We were concerned about the cost of replacing it. We called one company that my father in law used for many years, only to have them not show up for the appointment! When we called the company back they made lots of excuses... I told them to take a hike and called BLUE STAR! Jeff came out, arriving ON TIME, reviewed our existing system and told us about every aspect of what we could afford and how it would improve our home. After he left it didn't take long for us to call him back and schedule an install! Jeff and his team are superior in customer service, friendliness and fast, professional work! **Zero Stars** if I could!! I dont know what to think except very Unprofessional. I will Never think to call or contact this company Blue Star HVAC and I'd suggest that they rethink what they reply when customers request a quote online. Professional, Prompt, and Cost Effective service. I met with the owner, Jeff, and he checked out our, non-existent system, set-up, took measurements and determined what type/size AC unit we could put into our space. Jeff wrote me an estimate on the spot. I believe he was the 4th person I met with to price AC installation and he beat all competitors pricing by a few G's. They also offer a good warranty package along with purchase of new units. They installed an AC unit, in our home with no existing system, in just 1 day. Blue Star made sure that a support structure was built and had the new AC unit lifted up and placed on top of the roof of our house, for a reasonable additional cost. This eliminated my concerns about the unit being an eyesore in the yard, and the kids throwing dirt, toys, etc into it. I can't think of one thing to complain about with regard to Blue Star HVAC. All staff members are professional and punctual and friendly. Pricing and service are undeniable. Stay Cool! read more

I called Blue Star to set up an appointment for a condensation pump that had been leaking. Jeff was very quick to assist me by setting me up with an appointment the following day. He showed up at the promised time and was able to fix my issue within an hour. AMAZING COMPANY sent the most amazing technician, Terry!! (His shirt name tag rightfully read "Terrific Terry") .. now, I hope I will not have to call for AC repair again nowhere in the near future, but if I must, Blue Star will be the company I call AND recommend. Once the 100+ weather hit in the Bay Area, that's when we found out our AC was not working! This Blue Star ended up being the second company we called after a different company sent a technician who didn't even go out to look at the unit, only The electrical box, so we did not trust that first company's tech when he quoted us $1200 for a fix... but When TERRY arrived he got straight to business and found the issue very quickly, fixed it, checked the temperature to confirm it worked and went on his way. The weather cooled down, so we didn't use AC right after his visit, until the hot weather hit again, second time we found our AC not working.. I went out myself to check the unit and found refrigerant leaking.. called them back out, and during the 100 degree weather, they admitted to being VERY busy, but because of it being the second time we called within two weeks, they tried everything in their power to get someone back out, it took a few days, but they updated us in the process, and understanding a small business we did not rush them. But when TERRY came out the second time he listened to what I found, checked it and confirmed a leak, he was in and out within 40 minutes fixing the leak, and confirming no more leaks after a fill recharge. He was the most pleasant technician!! Thank you Blue Star!! read more

We had an 11am-1pm appt slot... 1:30 pm i called the Blue Star office & spoke to Sabrina to see if anyone was coming to keep the appt. She said that the tech was in Winters & running a little late & would be at the house shortly. 3pm comes around & NO TECH SHOWED UP to the house. Needless to say, im angry & frustrated at this point after taking the day off of work to meet this person.I call Blue Star to just cancel our appt. If this is their business practice, i DO NOT want them working on anything in my home. PS Its 3:30pm... tech shows up finally... i sent him home, i'll call another business read more

If I could provide 10 stars, I would do so. Just weeks ago when the temperature was 102 degrees F, our AC unit stopped working. Later that same day I called Blue Star Heating & Air Conditioning and reached Sabrina, who set up an appointment one day out as they were super busy. This is the second time we have used their service. Blue Star is consistent with its return calls, flexible scheduling, prompt arrival time, both a diligent analysis provided with regard to one's HVAC issue and an explanation of what repair is needed. In addition to the expert resolution, one receives a reasonable price for the repair. Our service repairman was Terry aka Terrific Terry. read more

PLEASE READ THIS; After dealing with the 2 Previous years of triple digit temperatures and dealing with a Constant broken Ac unit. My Family and I saved enough to have our Ac unit and furnace replaced this year with New ones. So, it was imperative that I would find exactly what we needed for my 3,000 sf home to replace our 25year old Ac Unit and furnace. Again we didn't have an enormous amount of Money, but I did get an estimate the last time we had another Ac repair company ( not Blue Star) who came to service our home for lack of freon. With that estimate I had a Ball Park of how much it was going to cost me. Within the following Winter months of 2015-2016 , I researched all the Top Hvac Companies that I found on Yelp that had the Best ratings and reviews, again there is a Handful of Hvac Companies that have Good ratings of Reviews. I set up the times each company would come in and evaluate our Ac unit and furnace and give their estimate of how much it would cost us to have them replaced. Each of the Hvac Companies came and gave their estimates which lasted about 10 minutes and each estimate I was given were pretty much the same in cost. But, their services were different, One Company told me that I didn't need a permit and another Company told me that they would not work on my Air ducts and they would be using my existing Freon lines and Power box and they would only swap in a New Ac unit and Furnace for the old ones. Not feeling Comfortable with any of the Hvac Companies I got an estimate from, by the Grace of God I found enough patience to call two more Hvac Companies for an estimate. This Time I called Blue Star and a another Hvac Company. I scheduled the Hvac companies to come on the same day, one right after the other. Jeff( Owner ) of Blue Star came and began his evaluation, I was first impressed with his Energy and then he throughly investigated everything that had to do with my Ac unit and Furnace. Jeff checked out my Power lines and Freon lines. He explained that he would get the permits from the city and also register my New units so my warranty would be active. I told him my concerns of constantly having my freon filled every year and I may have a leak, Jeff assured me that he would also replace my Copper freon lines, work on my air ducts, replace my power box and cables, replace my Control box, put in a new vent covering from the return air vent, And he presented a photo of his previous work his company has done. At this point Jeff was at my house for about an Hour. He also gave me Pamphlets of my New Ac unit and Furnace. Jeff explained that his evaluation was not an Estimate but a quote and signed. Jeff was the only one who actually wrote down every service he would do and the Price I would have to pay. And to my Surprise and Amazement it was the Lowest Estimate/Quote I received from Any other Hvac Company. Jeff also explained that I would not pay anything until the City inspector and the H.E.R.S. Testers came and gave their thumbs up on the work Blue Star have done. At that moment I knew I found my Hvac Company. In the following days Blue Star came and did exactly what Was written on the service sheet and more, They even put new Smoke Alarms in each room and 2 Carbon detectors in my home included in my price. Blue Star went beyond my Expectations. I know it's a Headache on who to trust and if the service will be exact as each Hvac Company claim and what their attitude will be when they do come. I'm telling you, Don't waste your time With anyone else , I'm pretty sure each Hvac Company are Skilled in their trade. But I have never experienced the Service I have Gotten from Blue Star or in the years that I may have lost hope in anyone taking Pride in their workmanship, Blue Star gave that back to me. Do yourself Good and call them. I hope this helps you Decide. God Bless you. ( I called the Hvac company I scheduled to come after Blue Star and cancelled) Ek read more

I called three firms to review irritating rumble in my 18 year old Concord furnace. The first wanted $125 to send someone out plus T&M charges after arrival (forget dat!); the second charged me $65 on a mass mailed couipon to allegedly inspect and adjust 20-some items. They did nothing and after 60 seconds of a glance at the system bad mouthed the condition of my system and try to sell me a new one (forget dat2!). Jeff came out for a free estimate, gave me a bid to replace a motor but cautioned against it until further justification was determined. While here he noticed an inefficient setting in blower speed that had existed for some time from prior work of others, changed that with an option setting for free, and I had him install a new thermostat that I had intended to install myself but got over my head, and charged me $100 for that work - more than a fair deal.
