Last fall I started hearing noises in the walls. I called Eagle and their tech showed up on time, with a mask. Polite and personable. He climbed into the attic crawl space, fixed a hole under the roof eave with wire mesh, and set some rat traps. I was hesitant to set kill traps but nobody seemed to want to trap rats and humanely release them, and there may be practical and legal difficulties in doing so (e.g. the need to check the traps daily, and city ordinances about releasing). Thankfully, no rats were caught, and no evidence of rats inside the house was found. However, I kept hearing noises - some quite loud, and mostly during the day time, not at night when rats are supposedly more active. I began to suspect squirrels. After 5 visits and no solution to the sounds in the wall, the office offered a few additional courtesy visits to set traps around the perimeter of the house (outside), but I declined because I was beginning to suspect it was squirrels, not rats and didn't want to be involved in any killing, especially when it wasn't going to solve my problem. Eventually, I climbed up on my roof (I'm comfortable with heights - not recommended for most people, and many companies refuse to do this). On top of the roof, I found an old masonry chimney that was sealed off at the bottom. I had not known about this, but it was completely open at the top. Squirrels have no problems climbing down this - treating it like a hollowed out tree trunk. They can easily wedge their tiny claws into crevices in the masonry. First, I attached a go-Pro camera and began to record video footage - after reviewing ~8 hours and not seeing any intruders, I began to notice that I wasn't hearing any sounds in the walls. Warmer weather? Scared off by the camera on the wooden frame around the top of the chimney? It's been a week with no rodent sounds, so I have temporarily sealed the chimney with a double layer of 4 mil plastic cinched down by the wooden frame I built. I waited a week to do this to ensure no rodents would get trapped inside, which could either kill them or make them eat their way out of the walls. I've called a roofer to remove the top of the chimney and seal the roof (better for energy efficiency). Many pest removal companies employ highly visible activities such as putting out kill traps, which end up being lethal to other creatures just trying to survive, and may not even solve your problem. There are many non-lethal solutions and practices out there, and you need to research your problem carefully, or pay someone willing to do that research. I paid $500 to Eagle for a service. They get 3 stars because they did help me do some exclusion work and were generally professional. This review is meant to help you do your homework when it comes to rodents, choosing a company, and being clear on strategies and potential outcomes. Please choose a non-lethal strategy if possible. Poisoning rats for example, only ends up poisoning other animals, including pets. And it's probably a horrible death. My longest Yelp review ever...but a complex issue with moral layers.

Called them back at the same number they initially called me from and the number advertised on their website.

I spoke with two people from Eagle Pest Eliminator's today (4.7.22). I would later learn that the first call they made to me was a '"glitch...'" a hallucination if you will- but more about that later. Eagle Pest Eliminators called me regarding a bird issue. The woman said she was calling because I "had a bird issue at my complex" and wanted to know when I could be available. Not sure where she got that I lived in a complex, but I opened my calendar nonetheless. I asked her to give me some times when her tech could come out. She asked me to give her some times. (Here we go...) I said, "I'm looking at my calendar. When can your person come out? I can make myself available." She again told me that I should give her times at which point I asked her to get some times and call me back. My cell showed that the call was 2min and 2 sec. She said she'd check and call back. She never called back, but that's not the worst of it. After more than 30 min, I called back. Guess what? The second lady was quite rude and outright hostile in my opinion. I called back and stated that I was checking in to see when a tech could come out. The woman told me that she checked and no one called me. I told her that someone called, mentioned my issue and mentioned the name of the company who gave them my info. I asked her how all of that info could be a glitch? She then told me that she'd checked and no one was claiming to have called me. I told her their number was on my phone. She told me something must be wrong with my phone. Well...I guess both me and my phone are hallucinating and inventing calls from oddly specific companies regarding oddly specific problems. Yes, that must be it. I told her she was very rude and unprofessional and that her behavior didn't make sense. After a while I called back, twice, to the very same number they first called me from. I also called them at the number on their website. They answered the phone but did not say 'hello.' They did this two times in a row. Shocking, I know. But the most shocking thing was yet to come. A little over an hour later, their tech showed up wanting to gain entrance to check on the very problem I was supposed to have hallucinated receiving a call about. I wonder how that happened. Both he and his truck are on camera. In any case, since they never called back to make an appointment, never answered their phone when I called back twice and were shockingly rude, it was a no go. Note to self: Never call or recommend Eagle Pest Eliminators to anyone at anytime ever.

I've been hearing noises lately that I thought could be possibly rodents. They came out within a few days of my calling and did a really thorough inspection. Jon was kind and professional. He seemed very knowledgeable. In terms of covid, he wore a mask and I felt comfortable. I would definitely have them come out again!

I really appreciate their complimentary services outside of the quarterly ones if it's a particularly bad season for pests. Their technicians are great, and they try to send the same person every time, which I appreciate. My current tech, Kevin, really goes above and beyond. He noticed an area near my front door where rodents were potentially hiding, so he put down some wiring to protect the area without me asking. He also gives me at-home spider traps I can use and even disposes of them during his visits since it rather grosses me out to do so :) Also, during my most recent appointment, I was totally frazzled due to meetings happening at work, and I told Kevin to go ahead and spray my garage area, and that I'd close the garage door later when I could. What I discovered later is that Kevin actually closed the door himself without me asking, which just shows that he actually thinks about the customer and what's best for them. That defines good service. Finally, their customer service folks are also great. Whenever I've had to reschedule or have questions, they are always easy to get a hold of, prompt, and friendly. Parker Eco is the kind of company where you don't have to think too hard about using their services because they're really good at what they do. That lack of mental overhead makes it easy to recommend them!

And, as always, now a bit longer answer: We have had an ongoing battle with wasps and yellow jackets for many years. They not only chase us off our decks, but they are also a direct danger to my husband due to his allergies. I have tried oh-so many ways to handle them myself to no avail. I have even had companies come out here to give me bids. As the guy is telling me we do not have a problem he is batting them away...yeah...no thank you. The other day my daughter and I were driving home from Town & Country Market (another fan favorite of mine) as we came upon a truck for Snohomish Pest Control. I called immediately (which means once I was in position to do so safely and legally...). The gal that answered the phone was so helpful and scheduled me right then. She even explained why the visit needed to take place when it was not raining since these wretched beasts (my words) were not out and about in such weather. Thank you! Jordan, the owner of Snohomish Pest Control, showed up on time and was amazing! Here are just a few of the reasons I say that: * He was respectful of me and my home. * He didn't freak out over our very large puppy, nor did he do anything to make that encounter worse by trying to engage with her. I say that because Valor is already big and "busy". I don't need someone "ramping her up". Jordan already understood that. * Jordan listened. YAY! * Next, he walked the entire property, again listening to my concerns. * After that, he explained everything he was suggesting he do, clearly and specifically. He also made sure I knew the chemicals they use would not hurt my pets or koi, nor would they kill mason or honey or bumble bees. Excellent! * Their prices are fair! * He then proceeded to actually treat the property right then, not next week, next month, he did it right then! Call them. You will thank me.

First, my work started with Tom, a great gentleman who showed up right on time, thoroughly inspected the house, gave me all the details, and walked me through the entire process with patience and clarity. He made sure I understood every step and worked hard to get me the best deal possible. His professionalism set the tone for the entire project. We then had two days of work scheduled. Both project managers, Eric and Greg, were wonderful people. They were attentive, communicative, and did their absolute best to keep everything running smoothly. I really appreciate how well they coordinated the work. The crew overall did a fantastic job -- they worked clean, were respectful of our home and space, and showed up on time every single day. You can tell they take pride in what they do. What truly sets Super Attic Solutions apart is their sense of ownership and level of commitment. They didn't just finish the job and walk away -- they followed up not once, but twice to make sure everything was top notch and that I was fully satisfied. That level of dedication and care is rare to find. You can tell this is a company that genuinely stands behind their work and treats every customer like they matter. For an $8,000 investment, that kind of commitment gives you real peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend Super Attic Solutions and will be using them again in the future. We chose Super Attic Solutions based on their strong BBB rating, positive reviews, and the sales pitch that emphasized thorough follow‑up and post‑project support. We received three quotes for our attic and basement work; Super Attic Solutions was not the cheapest, but the promised inspections and customer care were the deciding factor for us. The crew that performed the work was respectful, efficient, and left the space clean. However, everything that happened after they left has been the opposite of what was promised. The sales rep assured us that an "inspector" would return a few weeks after completion to verify that: No rodents had re‑entered the home All work met code Any questions or concerns would be addressed He even mentioned a 6‑month follow‑up to ensure long‑term satisfaction. None of this happened. When I asked the project manager to walk the space with the crew, he was hesitant. I'm glad I insisted -- four ceiling lights were sealed incorrectly and left hanging an inch from the ceiling. I was told an "inspector" would come fix them, so the crew left and I was left with blue tape holding up my lights. A week later, our AC wouldn't shut off. I discovered the furnace (located in the attic) had been wrapped in insulation -- a fire hazard and not to code -- and no clear path had been left for HVAC access. When I called urgently, I was asked to send photos and then told a "supervisor with tons of experience" reviewed them and everything was fine. It wasn't. I had to pay an HVAC company to confirm the hazard, and only then was I told they might reimburse up to $500 because they didn't think they could send someone out. When the "inspector" finally arrived, they were not inspectors at all -- it was two members of the original crew. They fixed the lights (well no disrespect) and removed the insulation, from the furnace just laying on the air ducts. However, as we were communicating via technology translator, I could not get any answer to any questions and was told to call the office. Since then, I've left multiple messages through their AI system and sent two emails. I have given this company over 4 weeks to uphold the customer service they say they hold themselves to and I still haven't gotten a single phone call, let alone an "inspector" to look over the work, but they my check cashed. Bottom line: The initial work was fine, but the promised follow‑up and customer care simply do not exist. Once the crew leaves, you are on your own. Before moving in, Orkin inspected my home and claimed everything looked fine--no traps needed. I signed up for their quarterly pest‑control plan, which supposedly covers insects, rats, and mice. A year and a half later, I started hearing footsteps in the attic. Orkin sent a technician who was clearly untrained; she couldn't even get into the attic and only stuck her head through the opening. She admitted she saw tunneling but didn't seem concerned it because "it didn't smell." She put down a trap or two and said to call if I started smelling anything. She looked around the perimeter of my home and said she didn't see anywhere rats could be getting in. The noises continued, and when the trap went off, I called again. My usual technician actually entered the attic and immediately found tunneling and multiple possible entry points. I was told an inspector needed to come out. Despite being asked for my availability, no one followed up--I had to call them myself. When the inspector finally arrived, he said he is the person they always send for rat issues--yet I had already dealt with two other employees before him. He took one look at my roofline and immediately pointed out obvious signs of a previous rat problem and poor exclusion work. This was never mentioned during Orkin's original inspection, when the attic was clean and the issue could have been prevented. Because Orkin failed to identify or address any of this, I ended up with a full attic infestation. Their excuse was that they once pointed out a nearby tree, which they claimed counted as identifying an "entry point." Meanwhile, there were several actual openings around my attic that they never mentioned. Fixing the damage cost thousands. Orkin quoted me over $15,000, and when I asked for a discount given their negligence, they offered 5%, which didn't even cover the tax. Two other companies quoted me less than half of Orkin's price. Their customer service was equally terrible--condescending management, no accountability, and no acknowledgment of their own improper training or missed inspections. Their so‑called "satisfaction guarantee" only refunded one quarterly payment. Avoid this company. You are throwing your money away. You're better off handling basic bug prevention yourself and hiring a qualified company once a year to do real rodent inspection and exclusion work.
