Do not waste your money. If I could give zero stars, I would. Orkin's "preventative" services are a scam, and the company refuses to take accountability for failures that I was actively paying them to prevent. Before moving in, Orkin inspected my home and claimed everything looked fine--no traps needed. I signed up for their quarterly pest‑control plan, which supposedly covers insects, rats, and mice. A year and a half later, I started hearing footsteps in the attic. Orkin sent a technician who was clearly untrained; she couldn't even get into the attic and only stuck her head through the opening. She admitted she saw tunneling but didn't seem concerned it because "it didn't smell." She put down a trap or two and said to call if I started smelling anything. She looked around the perimeter of my home and said she didn't see anywhere rats could be getting in. The noises continued, and when the trap went off, I called again. My usual technician actually entered the attic and immediately found tunneling and multiple possible entry points. I was told an inspector needed to come out. Despite being asked for my availability, no one followed up--I had to call them myself. When the inspector finally arrived, he said he is the person they always send for rat issues--yet I had already dealt with two other employees before him. He took one look at my roofline and immediately pointed out obvious signs of a previous rat problem and poor exclusion work. This was never mentioned during Orkin's original inspection, when the attic was clean and the issue could have been prevented. Because Orkin failed to identify or address any of this, I ended up with a full attic infestation. Their excuse was that they once pointed out a nearby tree, which they claimed counted as identifying an "entry point." Meanwhile, there were several actual openings around my attic that they never mentioned. Fixing the damage cost thousands. Orkin quoted me over $15,000, and when I asked for a discount given their negligence, they offered 5%, which didn't even cover the tax. Two other companies quoted me less than half of Orkin's price. Their customer service was equally terrible--condescending management, no accountability, and no acknowledgment of their own improper training or missed inspections. Their so‑called "satisfaction guarantee" only refunded one quarterly payment. Avoid this company. You are throwing your money away. You're better off handling basic bug prevention yourself and hiring a qualified company once a year to do real rodent inspection and exclusion work. read more

We have a monthly service with Orkin and they are also supposed to come out anytime we have other issues that come up. We have ants every spring and summer in our old house. The monthly spray they do outside doesn't seem to make any difference at all. When they do treatments inside, those are somewhat more effective. However, getting anyone over there to answer their phone is downright impossible. Case in point- our tech gave us their business card last time they came out and said call or text anytime. We were excited to have that because it's always so hard to reach anyone on the main line. Well, we found another ant nest in the basement and reached out to our techs direct line. Left a message, waited a couple days, reached out again. No response. Tried texting- no response. Waited a few more days. Emailed- no response. Tried calling again- the tech actually answered and then told us to text them- which they didn't respond to. After 5 more days (at this point it's been two weeks from my first call), the tech responded by text that they have no availability until our next scheduled service day, which they said was 10 days away. Reluctantly, we agreed. That date came and went- they never showed up. We ended up putting up our own ant traps and dealing with it ourselves. What a waste of money. I hired this company for rodent problem. My experience was disappointing. The first two appointments were only used to set up bait stations and no actual inspection of property was conducted I was expecting a thorough assessment but that never happened. I also had a difficulty reaching the manager or any responsible person at the location which left me serious doubts about the professionalism and accountability of the company due to lack of communication and incomplete service. I didn't not feel confident continuing with them and decided not to move forward. I called the call center to cancel it. read more

In 2021 after a rat infestation in the crawl space of our house and even though it was quite expensive, we contracted with Orkin to have the crawl space cleaned out with all new vapor barrier and insulation installed. After the job was complete we then signed on for ongoing inspections in order to catch any future rodent invasions early before things could get bad again. After steadily increasing prices approximately 3 months ago we terminated our Orkin service and signed on with a competing company. At the time of termination our criteria was only the higher and higher service fees because we were assured that our rodent control problem was well under. control. Today the new pest control company performed an inspection of our crawl space and found extensive rodent damage and at least two dead rats. Additionally we were shown photographic evidence of the sloppy installation of the vapor barrier. The barrier was not secured, and there were mold spores in the bare spaces next to the foundation and all around the structure supports. Having taken the word of the installers and the service technicians at face value I have to say that I am very disappointed. I would have thought that there would have been more integrity with a nationally known company but apparently not. I cannot recommend strongly enough that those who choose to business with Orkin verify everything they say. Specifically with photographic evidence. read more

Fantastic! The whole process was very easy to go through, especially since I've never done this before. I first called to set up an inspection (Which is free!!) then they ask when is the best time to come and go through with the process of extermination. Well thankfully they can do Monday - Saturday appointments and I don't work Saturdays. It was perfect! I scheduled for 10-12pm, they arrived around 12:50pm, a little later but it was the quickest process ever. Maybe 10-45 minutes max depending on the circumstances to fully go through the extermination. The range of pay is $200-$300 but it's worth it. Go there! Been in business for 122 years and I can tell why! Best customer service I've experienced. read more

Update to my previous Orkin review: Long story-short is... after MULTIPLE trips to the house via Orkin to rid us of these pesky ants, I went to the hardware store, bought a few of those little plastic ant traps. The ones that have a little poison in them.. ants go in, fill their to-go bags, take that shit back to the ant crib. Disperse amongst their people. After about 5 days, wallah! Ants gone have NOT returned! (About $7.00) Me, still on the hook to Orkin for like $1100.00 a year or something? It's my wife's thing, I don't know what it costs. read more

I made the mistake of trying a new exterminator 'for the heck of it' and to save $10 a quarter and WOW what a mistake! Orkin has always been responsive and they have NEVER cancelled or not shown up for an apt. This new company did both within the first service. I didn't appreciate how easy it is to get to a live person with Orkin when I call - with the other company it took 5-10 minutes - annoying. I called Orkin and they took me back without charging me a penalty!!!! They came on time and took care of the ant problem I developed AFTER trying the new service. Orkin has been effective and our technician is always curtious, friendly and responsive. Before signing up with anyone - try calling their customer service number first! Orkin is a terrible pest control company!! I unfortunately signed a contract with them on the 2nd of June 2023. I hired them for sugar ants and rodent control. They sprayed for the sugar ants and told me that would kill them. I called5 days later and told them they were still here. That was a Monday. He said he would stop by the next Wednesday and spray again. He was a NO SHOW!! No phone call, no text. NOTHING!! 1 week later a different person showed up and inspected. Did nothing but inspect. He promised me the exterminator would call me within 48 hours. Again, nothing. No phone call no text. It's now been 2 weeks and I still have ants!! I'm so frustrated!! My opinion is find a local company. I just want a refund and hire someone else to take care of my property. Do not hire Orkin!! Their liars!! read more

Tried to give them a chance again to see if they improved, but no. Called to ask about treating our firewood d/t spiders - told him I didn't think it was safe to do and burn after, but he assured me it was. Calls me the day of the scheduled estimate visit and tells me that it is in fact, NOT safe to do - as I had initially told him. Even so, I had decided to hire them for regular service of the whole house. But turns out he was cancelling the estimate visit because he didn't believe I have a brown recluse problem. So as a business you won't even show up to give an estimate if the customer doesn't tell you the right type of spider. OK. Got it. BTW, there are brown recluse in WA - I found one in my house and have the scar from a bite to prove it. Even if they disagree, why would they cancel last minute? Wouldn't they want to come out, inspect and kill whatever type of spider I had? These guys are really not smart and shouldn't be handling dangerous chemicals. read more

We were dealing with a flea issue at our home. I reached out to multiple companies and decided to go with Orkin because I was assured they could do the complete interior and exterior of our home including our large 1/4 acre yard. I was very specific about the yard because my concern was that maybe they were hitching a ride on the dog back into the house. My appt was scheduled for yesterday (Wed) between 8 - 10am. I made plans around the set service time to have all my animals treated for fleas at their groomers. I was told we needed to stay out of the house for 4 hours. I received a call Tues night at 7:10pm. My service tech left a vm to let me know that my appt time was no longer good for them. My new expected appointment time would be between 12 - 2 or 2 - 4pm. I didn't see I had a vm until around 9:30am on Wed. I called and texted Rolando that this was going to be a big problem. Rescheduling our pets' appointments would have incurred costs and it didn't make sense to treat the house if the animals weren't also being treated at the same time AND we would need access to the house by 3:30pm (when son gets home from school). Rolando answered my 2nd call. I expressed frustration at the very short notice on the change in my appt. Calling people 12hrs before is unprofessional and the ripple effect is big. Rolando said he was told he could call up to 8:00pm the night before a service to make changes to the following day's appts. He did pass me to the shop manager, Bernie, and he informed me that they had an emergency safety meeting that took precedence over my appt but that Rolando would get there as soon as he could. Rolando got to my house at around 10:55am. Once he got all his paperwork filled in it was 11:20 and I was 20 minutes late for my cats' grooming appts. We were doing the walk-thru to show him the areas of concern and he told me he couldn't spray the yard. I was confused but didn't have time to talk about it as I was already so late. (Thankfully, the groomer didn't charge me for being late and let me keep my appointments - side note: Whole Cat and Kaboodle in Kirkland is AMAZING.) I called the corporate customer care number on Orkin's website. I spoke with Victoria and explained my experience up to this point. I was especially frustrated about the yard not being treated as I had specifically asked. She let me know that this isn't a service Orkin is actually licensed to do and apologized I was told otherwise. She removed the card I had put on file for auto payments and said she would get back to me with a resolution. (As of yet, I haven't heard back from her.)***never heard back Two hours later I got a call from Jordan at the Everett shop and went through the entire experience again. She was apologetic and asked me what kind of compensation I was expecting. (seriously?) I expressed that the service I was sold by the sales person (Angela) and the service I got were not in-line PLUS the poor customer service experience that caused a lot of unnecessary stress left me feeling overall disappointed & frustrated. I asked her what she felt was fair compensation. She said she's authorized to give 50% off so I took it, gave her a new card for pymt and told her I would appreciate a call back from Bernie to discuss my experience before making a decision about continuing to do business with them. (Haven't heard back)***see below ***edited 6/27/19 - I spoke with Bernie on Mon this week. He continuously interrupted me, didn't acknowledge my actual concerns, told me if he "were talking to his little sister he'd tell her not to worry", and seemed overall dismissive. I had a follow up appt today (Rolando was again professional). Still have some fleas on our cats but I know we'll have to maintain them until the entire life cycle dies. I rec'd a bill for $110.10. I was unaware that I'd be charged for the follow up but it turns out Jordan forgot to run my card as requested last week. I've decided to take my business elsewhere and I don't get the feeling that anyone at Orkin (Everett office OR corporate) really cares too much. read more

I had Insulation installed and it had to be done twice. I've called numerous times asking for an itemized statement, they never could provide us with one. They give you just a total which is extremely high for the quality of service and amount of time it took. When speaking with the representatives they always assure me they will send one and I have yet to receive it and it has been 5 months now. Hence the reason for this post. They also didn't send our payments to the sister company that takes the payments, we had to call numerous times for them to transfer the funds, the whole situation seemed a little shady , the office kept shifting the responsibilities to someone else. Well all I can say is I would never recommend Orkin and I will NEVER use their service once my contract is up. At first I asked customer service a question and they said someone will contact me. I asked this question at 3 different times with the same response and never had anyone call me. second when the tech came out he didn't listen at all to me or my husband with the look of I know what I'm doing leave me to do it. And again had problems today and they wouldn't answer their phone so ended up calling a different office to get someone to come out and only to find out today is a regular scheduled appointment without being told by phone or email. The customer service gal said they don't have an email for us. I have given them my email addy every time I have spoken to them (that is many times) and it is on my contract so.... will see how it goes today but I will NOT use them again. read more

Excellent customer service. We needed an inspection so we could have peace of mind on the current condition of our crawlspace. Also on an aged deck. Kelly came out, looked & noted everything. He addressed all of our concerns. No sales pitch just a real guy looking out for us. We had called a COMPETITOR... Term..x.. who scheduled & rescheduled, not twice but 3x....all with a 2 hour window and ALL 3times they were a NO SHOW. ORKIN came exactly when they said they would. No window! Horrible customer service, rude technicians, just all around horrible service. We cancelled our service months ago, but they kept coming out, claiming that we only cancelled part of the service. I'd give 0 stars if it was an option. Like others, as a property manager, I received a contract for their services in July for ants and rodents. The contract was written incorrectly and I couldn't get them to update it (they were supposed to charge a monthly fee but selected the option to pay for services as we go instead). A couple months after the ant treatment, the renter notified me that they had mice/rats that were coming up from under the house into their garage. What happened to preventative measures???My property maintenance guy set a couple traps in the garage until Orkin could get there but really didn't want the job of ridding the home of rodents--this is what we were paying Orkin for. The Orkin technician REFUSED to set any traps under the house and when we asked him to come out and remove the traps with rodents in them, it took him DAYS. By that time, rotting flesh smells were coming from the garage and the live rodents were eating the trapped ones. This was a horror story for the tenant who is a single mom of 3 kids. I called Orkin customer service and they said they would get the technician back out there to go under the house and assess damage and extent of infestation and reset the traps. When he came back out, again, he REFUSED to go under the house. He put ONE trap just inside the crawlspace, many feet away from where they were going in/out of the garage and we STILL don't know the condition of the insulation and anything else under the house. Once again, I contacted Orkin customer service, explained the whole situation and how we have a fantastic renter that we didn't want to lose over their poor service. The CSR assured us that this is not the way that they do business. She would have Sales contact me THAT DAY to discuss the contract and she would find a different technician to come out to the house and finish the job we paid for, remove the dead rodents and reset the traps. Yes, we were billed the first day that the technician came out and set one trap. $105 to set ONE TRAP. And guess what? NOT ONE PHONE CALL. FROM ANYONE after that. Nothing. Radio silence. My property maintenance guy had to continue to dispose of rodents and reset traps. I received a survey from Orkin in my email, to which I gave them a 0. Well, THEN I received an email from someone from Orkin apologizing for our bad experience and wanting to make it "right" by offering more services. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I never received the services that we already paid for! I told him no, but I would like the $105 back for services that were never rendered. The last email exchange was 3 weeks ago where he said he'd look into it and now nothing. I don't think that "looking into it" requires 3 weeks. Sales - 0; Technician - 0; CSR - 0. We're out! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. EVER. We could've lost our tenant/renter over this debacle. We bend over backwards to ensure she has a safe and comfortable home to live in with her kids as she's one of the best renters we've ever had and Orkin caused so much grief and anxiety that could've caused her to move out. read more

I went with Orkin because I was promised by Kelly, the area sales manager, that they could get the job done. The agreement was to rid my front and back yard of moles for a fee of $568.50. I was also told this service had a 30-day guarantee promising that they would be back if mole activity was still present within that time. Well, that was far from what happened. After numerous phone calls, emails, and text messages to get someone to come out and complete the job that was agreed upon to no avail, I finally just asked for a refund. Services were never completed as agreed upon and they have poor customer service! I would never recommend Orkin! read more

Our inspector Dennis was very knowledgeable and gave us some good information that no other company informed us of as well as answering all of our questions. The downside is that Orkin is very very expensive in order to complete a Heat Treatment for us. Needless to say we won't be going with them after we received the quote. Absolutely horrible service. We have a 6 foot cedar fence and three giant German Shepherd's that live inside it goes all the way around our house. We were sent multiple text at multiple times stating that they were coming and that they had already service our home which would be impossible with our dogs and our fence. They charged us $104 to put bait in front of one garage door because that was all they could access. When I called to try to work an arrangement to get a good time for our schedule so that people would be there to let them in their communication was poor and they still didn't listen. After a year of going back-and-forth I canceled my services they still do not cancel my services they charge me 260 read more

We called them because we had a problem with sugar ants. The guy came out and separated stuff inside and outside the house. He said he would come back and pick up the nasty syrup stuff he sprayed inside the house and never came back. 200$ to have someone come spread syrup stuff in the house to I had to crawl around on my hands and knees 7 months pregnant scrubbing up the mess. If anybody needs them just have them spray outside the house because they said they would come back and clean it up but don't. read more

Worst company ever. Came out twice and could not stop the flea infestation. The technician said would confirm time the day before follow-up appointment, but did not call or return my phone calls. Customer Service said they don't know who was going to come. Asked for escalation to a manager or regional manager, and customer service said they don't know the contact for the manager. What a joke! They also said the guarantee only works for 30 days and is the issue still exists in 30 days, they will not come anymore unless I pay more. They limit follow up treatment to only once a week. The technician clearly missed some spots that's why the infestation got worse. They suggested the best way to stop the fleas from coming back is to hire them for routine service. Why would anyone hire them after the horrible service they provided? read more

I contacted Orkin back in July regarding rats. My neighbor found one in his garage and upon inspection of our garage, we saw our drywall had been damaged. We also had them jumping at our front windows and chewed the screen! Orkin was the earliest company that could come out and actually gave a quote. Chris, the initial tech., was great. He inspected everywhere, put traps and also treated for spiders. He set up the next appointment and that he would be my tech and make sure he'd schedule during this time frame as it worked best with my schedule. Never dealt with Chris again. Last two tech's seem only interested in spiders. I still see rats, but thankfully not in garage or front windows. When I call to express my concerns, I'm told they can bring out extra traps. I still haven't gotten any extra traps. They can't come sooner then your next appointment I guess. It will now be 6wks since I asked for more concentration on the rodents instead of the spiders....which were never my concern. They trap you in a contract instead of trapping the rats! read more

Do not hire this company at all. They were suppose to remove dead rodents in a crawl space area and after 3 months of living here found out they didn't remove anything! For 400 dollars to spray for termites and remove rodents you think you would do your job. Go with a small company who wants your business. read more

Ask them to come take care of a contract issue with an infestation of yellow jackets and was told by Orkin that they only treat bugs at ground level and that I would need to find a different bug company to take care of issues with bugs on my roof.I took their advice and canceled my contract with working Terminix has came out and taking care of the problem thank you Terminix. read more
