Poor workmanship, inflated charges, and no communication We…read morehired SERVPRO of Kirkland for emergency water mitigation after a kitchen leak. The crew responded quickly and the initial mitigation work was completed in two days. That's where the positives end. Communication stopped once the work began. Decisions were made that added significant charges to our bill -- asbestos testing, Category 3 elevation, reconstruction -- and we were never informed about any of them during the job. We found out when we received the invoice. The asbestos testing is our biggest issue. Our home was built in 2008, well past the asbestos era, and all three samples came back negative. Under Washington law, homeowners can conduct their own asbestos survey -- we were never told. SERVPRO performed the testing without telling us what it would cost, and the charge came in well above the industry average. The EPA recommends that the company testing for asbestos should not be the same company doing the remediation. SERVPRO did both. The drywall repair was equally disappointing. The invoice described the work as "hung, taped, floated, ready for paint." What we actually received was bare drywall with no tape on any seams, no joint compound, and vertical corners left completely raw. Not close to paint-ready by any standard. We were charged for finished work that wasn't finished. When we raised these concerns in a detailed, documented letter, SERVPRO's response was a payment ultimatum and a threat to file a lien on our home -- not a conversation. We paid in full to move on, but this experience was a lesson in getting everything in writing before any work starts.

Jesus and Brandon were respectful of the space -- for example, when they had to take down some heavy closet doors and lean them against a wall, they put a cloth between the doors and the wall so as not to scratch the wall. They suggested fixes that in my mind went above and beyond, such as putting a layer of primer on the sheathing to help it resist moisture, should my roof leak again in the future. Hopefully I'll never need them again in the future, but if I do, they'll be the ones I call first.

Both times, I was extremely happy with the professionalism and level of service I received. Both times, they answered all my questions, provided meticulous documentation, worked with me to manage the costs (once with my insurance company and once without), and did thorough and exacting work. While I truly hope I never need their services again (who wants more water damage?!!), if it became necessary, they would be my first call.

The mitigation work was left unfinished in several areas, including doors left, concrete shower only half demolished, etc. After paying almost $15,000 the overall quality and follow-through were below expectation. Later on Mr Werner visited for the restoration estimate, but after that, neither him nor Mr Vincent ever followed up or provided the estimate needed to move forward with the insurance claim. Despite repeated emails, we were ignored, delaying our claim process by more than 10 days. Do not assume that companies recommended by assessors are necessarily the best choice. Take the time to research companies carefully before committing and stay away from Pacific Remediation and Restoration.

You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. I've had quite a few companies do various types of jobs for me, and there are only two who I'd recommend. Mathew with Puget Sound Water Rescue is one of them!

We called several emergency water restoration companies, but Green Planet Restoration was the only one able send someone out to access our situation that day. David, our field supervisor, thoroughly inspected the damage and gave us an honest and careful outlook about the restoration process. Optimistically planning on insurance coverage, but realistically expecting denial, he made sure that all work and costs were approved by us before and throughout the insurance process. Thankfully we ended up being covered, and David helped negotiate on our behalf. Olman, our project manager, was attentive and communicative. He kept us up to date with all the work and progress, and helped us coordinate with the workers we had coming and going for several weeks. The crew working on the house was excellent, too! Giovanni walked us through the work, and helped us when we wanted to make adjustments. We made some pretty drastic changes to our spaces, installing LVP in both rooms and painting the wall and ceiling a dark color in one of them. These big upgrades were easily handled. At no point did we ever feel like we were left hanging or out of the loop. Even throughout the payment process, with several hiccups with our insurance checks, they were kind, patient, and understanding. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.

They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.
