I'm thankful for Attic Doctor's insulation work. Edder and his team did a thorough job with before and after pictures. They neutralized the mold, installed some boards for storage place and insulated with spray in fiberglass insulation with a small area of batting and sprayed insukation over that. They sealed the air leaking areas and insukated my recently installed bathroom vent fan. The only small glitch was that the eatimator Chris said the depth of the spray in insulation would be 19 inches but was actually 16.3 inches. However, it still attained R-49 insulation protection. We have issues with temperature and rodents in our attic and our crawl space. I had the pleasure of meeting Jay and his team. He was very communicative from the get go. Upon his arrival he explained step by step his procedure for inspection. After completing the inspection, Jay went through a detail description of his finding with pictures and suggestive repairs. He also went into great detail on the process of the repairs, expectations and outcomes. I have met and obtain inspections and quotes from over 5 different reputable companies in the area and none took as much time and diligence as Jay. They would quickly write me up a quote on "repairs" or "replacement" nor did anything of them provided education and explanation on repair/replacement necessity. Not only did Jay and his fantastic team repair an replace my attic and craw space insulation, they also reconnected my bathroom vent and my kitchen stove vent. Even though Jay was not the most economical, I felt I was paying for quality. They use Rolled Batt instead of the blown in which I felt was more conducive for what I was looking for. Installation took two days. Extensive cleaning was needed due to rodents and debris. They maintained a clean work area and provided communication throughout the day on their findings and progress. After repair and replacement was completed a follow up inspection two weeks later was completed with clean bill. Jay was not only provided excellent customer service, but was clear and concise with his communication, met and exceeded all expectations and was willing to work without our budget. Jay is the owner, came down to see the problem, did the estimate and told us about the plan how to fix it. The Attic Doctor team just finished replacing our old blown in insulation in our attics with white R-38 rolled batt insulation. Overall, we were very happy with their work and attention to detail. Everything was spotless when they left. They were also a few thousand dollars less expensive than a bid we got from a larger local chain. The old insulation was blocking the soffit vents (under the gutters) allowing moisture and black mold to develop on the underside of the roof sheeting. First, they built a plastic tunnel from the front door up to the upper attic access door in the top of a closet near the bedrooms. This prevented any debris from the job filtering into the house as well as protecting the carpet. Next, they removed all the old insulation with the assistance of a giant vacuum. The black mold on the underside of our roof sheeting was treated and the new insulation installed. It now looks like a field of freshly fallen snow up there and no blocked vents. The only negative was the smell from the mold treatment spray which reminded me of chlorine at the Y pool. This was only from the lower attic which was accessible from the garage. Attic Doctor is a wonderful company! So, we had a squirrel take up residence in our attic crawl space. Our house is tall with a steep roof and poor interior access to that space. I spent months trying to find help as the squirrel made himself very comfortable. Our pest control company put some traps in there, but the squirrel avoided them. We tried to evict that squirrel with an embarrassing number of half-baked ideas, from mothball sachets to YouTube videos of hawks screeching played at top volume to hot pepper dust to an electronic repeller. Nothing worked. Attic Doctor to the rescue! Jay, the owner, came out and saw the situation - the need to do a full rodent exclusion all the way around the house where the roof meets the fascia board. This needed metal mesh secured in many hard to access locations and spray foam to fill small entry points. You can see examples of both in my photos. Their work is impeccable. I contacted Attic Doctor when I discovered mold in my attic. Jay came out after hours when I could be home from work and spent a long time thoroughly documenting and explaining my mold issue with me. Attic Doctor took care of the mold, replaced all my insulation, refurbished my ducts, and created a new attic access door on the side of my house that had no previous access for a very reasonable price. Jay was always quick to return my texts or calls when I had questions about the job, and he and his team have high standards for top-rate work. It's been a month, and the new insulation (EcoBatt) has been amazing. I let my heat drop 5 degrees at night to save energy, but my house is only cooling by about 2 degrees, even with outside temperatures dropping into the 40's. It used to quickly drop those 5 degrees. The upstairs is also getting much better heat flow and staying warmer now that the attic ducts are insulated. My upstairs attic-style bedrooms no longer have that old, musty smell that I always thought was part of owning a 1950's house. It's nice to know that my mold issue has been taken care of and that Attic Doctor will return annually or at my request to make sure it's not returning. We had a serious mouse/rat problem in our crawl space and attic. Last winter a squirrel stored walnuts in our crawl space. The rodents found them and wouldn't leave. Jay first inspected our home. Other companies wanted to replace all the insulation in the crawl space. Since our home was remodeled several years ago, Jay saw the insulation was in good condition and said it didn't need to be replaced. This alone saved us $3000. He suggested other remedies. Our home had several additions over the years and parts of the crawl space were very hard to access. Jay's crew found a way to reach even the most difficult areas. We found we had an issue with mice coming up from our crawl space. After researching companies I came across the attic doctor. My first contact was with a very helpful friendly girl on the phone. She explained the process and booked me my free estimate appointment with Jay( the owner) for my next day off. Jay was amazing!
