Attic had been ignored for years. It was one of those places nobody really thinks about until…read moresomething feels off in the house. Lately the upstairs rooms always felt dusty and the temperature kept changing a lot, cold at night and warm during the day. Someone suggested checking the attic and once it was opened it was pretty obvious the insulation was very old and the space needed a real cleaning. Team came out and took their time looking around first. They explained what they were seeing and why the old insulation was not really doing its job anymore. There was a lot of buildup, old insulation, dust, and just years of stuff sitting in the attic. Once they started removing everything it was kind of surprising how much came out. Whole attic was cleaned out properly before anything new went in. They also pointed out a few small openings where air was getting in and sealed those while they were up there. After that the new insulation was installed and the difference started to show pretty quickly. Upstairs already feels more comfortable and the house keeps the temperature much better. Air feels cleaner too, which was something that was noticed almost right away. One thing that stood out was how careful they were during the process. They covered areas they were walking through and cleaned everything before leaving so there was no mess left behind. Attic cleaning and insulation is probably one of those things people forget about until it becomes a problem. I found them on the BBB website. Kody spent time educating us on options and came across as refreshingly honest. They weren't the cheapest, but we wanted this done right. The team was great - let's face it cleaning out a crawlspace and doing exclusion work is difficult and unpleasant - but Antonil (sp?) and Joseph were professional, and worked hard. They prepared the room carefully and fully cleaned up afterwards. So relieved that the job is done!

Unfortunately, the follow-through afterward has been extremely frustrating. The initial crew did a great job. The problem has been the subsequent inspections and the pest control department. The people they've sent out for follow-up inspections have not seemed nearly as thorough or competent as the original crew. On one occasion, the inspector appeared to go only a couple of feet into the crawlspace before saying everything looked great. How is that considered a thorough inspection of an entire crawlspace? We also had a bee problem and contacted their pest control department. We were told they only treat as high as they can reach unless there is a visibly active hive. A handyman eventually found the hives in our gutters and took care of the problem, so we had to hire someone else to resolve an issue we had originally brought to this company. The scheduling and communication have also been extremely poor. They tell you what day they are coming, and if that date doesn't work, it can be nearly impossible to reach anyone in the pest department to reschedule. Calls frequently aren't returned, and emails sometimes go unanswered. This has happened on multiple occasions, not just once. We've repeatedly been told they are short staffed. I understand staffing issues happen, but at some point that becomes a company issue--not something the customer should have to continually deal with, especially when we've paid a premium for ongoing service and a warranty. Most recently, I emailed asking what other dates were available since I couldn't get anyone to return my calls. I was told, "nothing unfortunately." I then asked again for a callback so we could actually find a date and get this resolved. Instead, I received another email saying they were short staffed. So where does that leave me as a customer? I have a warranty that I'm supposed to have confidence in, yet I can't even get someone to schedule the follow-up service. It's disappointing because we specifically chose this company over less expensive options because we believed we were paying for quality, service, and long-term peace of mind. The initial work was good, but a warranty is only valuable if the company can actually stand behind it.

First, I…read morehad the estimator come out just a couple days after I called, he spent an hour or so going over my house & checking the insulation and then figured out the estimate. I was shocked, with the PSE rebate, which NW Insulation takes care of, the estimate was thousands less than I thought it would be! I signed up, and a day or so later I got a call to schedule the install, again, surprisingly, they could do it right away and I scheduled for about a week out. The installers got to my house about 8am and were very polite and professional. They basically worked all day, got the job done, and were on their way. They left everything clean and it is amazing to me how the house looked when they were done. They blew in the insulation from the exterior and the method that they used left no trace, they removed a course of siding, drilled holes, filled the walls, plugged the holes, and replaced the siding. You can't even tell that they were there. I have only had a few hot days to determine if there has been an improvement and honestly it really does seem to stay cooler inside, looking forward to winter for the real test. All in all, this has been a great experience, I very highly recommend NW Insulation for your project.

Representative was confident and work was done to the tune of $6000+. Periodically checked immediate area and had exterminators down there bi-monthly with reports of minor moisture but overall OK. Orkin sent out a guy to perform an inspection and he reported the exact situation I paid to resolve. It was beyond 1 year but it is obvious they did not perform work I was promised. I asked them to honor the warranty 22 months after work, which I do know is beyond, but it is clear that they did not do work promised and I believe they should back up their work.
