Jordan V.

Last fall I started hearing noises in the walls. I called Eagle and their tech showed up on time, with a mask. Polite and personable. He climbed into the attic crawl space, fixed a hole under the roof eave with wire mesh, and set some rat traps. I was hesitant to set kill traps but nobody seemed to want to trap rats and humanely release them, and there may be practical and legal difficulties in doing so (e.g. the need to check the traps daily, and city ordinances about releasing). Thankfully, no rats were caught, and no evidence of rats inside the house was found. However, I kept hearing noises - some quite loud, and mostly during the day time, not at night when rats are supposedly more active. I began to suspect squirrels. After 5 visits and no solution to the sounds in the wall, the office offered a few additional courtesy visits to set traps around the perimeter of the house (outside), but I declined because I was beginning to suspect it was squirrels, not rats and didn't want to be involved in any killing, especially when it wasn't going to solve my problem. Eventually, I climbed up on my roof (I'm comfortable with heights - not recommended for most people, and many companies refuse to do this). On top of the roof, I found an old masonry chimney that was sealed off at the bottom. I had not known about this, but it was completely open at the top. Squirrels have no problems climbing down this - treating it like a hollowed out tree trunk. They can easily wedge their tiny claws into crevices in the masonry. First, I attached a go-Pro camera and began to record video footage - after reviewing ~8 hours and not seeing any intruders, I began to notice that I wasn't hearing any sounds in the walls. Warmer weather? Scared off by the camera on the wooden frame around the top of the chimney? It's been a week with no rodent sounds, so I have temporarily sealed the chimney with a double layer of 4 mil plastic cinched down by the wooden frame I built. I waited a week to do this to ensure no rodents would get trapped inside, which could either kill them or make them eat their way out of the walls. I've called a roofer to remove the top of the chimney and seal the roof (better for energy efficiency). Many pest removal companies employ highly visible activities such as putting out kill traps, which end up being lethal to other creatures just trying to survive, and may not even solve your problem. There are many non-lethal solutions and practices out there, and you need to research your problem carefully, or pay someone willing to do that research. I paid $500 to Eagle for a service. They get 3 stars because they did help me do some exclusion work and were generally professional. This review is meant to help you do your homework when it comes to rodents, choosing a company, and being clear on strategies and potential outcomes. Please choose a non-lethal strategy if possible. Poisoning rats for example, only ends up poisoning other animals, including pets. And it's probably a horrible death. My longest Yelp review ever...but a complex issue with moral layers.

Called them back at the same number they initially called me from and the number advertised on their website.

I spoke with two people from Eagle Pest Eliminator's today (4.7.22). I would later learn that the first call they made to me was a '"glitch...'" a hallucination if you will- but more about that later. Eagle Pest Eliminators called me regarding a bird issue. The woman said she was calling because I "had a bird issue at my complex" and wanted to know when I could be available. Not sure where she got that I lived in a complex, but I opened my calendar nonetheless. I asked her to give me some times when her tech could come out. She asked me to give her some times. (Here we go...) I said, "I'm looking at my calendar. When can your person come out? I can make myself available." She again told me that I should give her times at which point I asked her to get some times and call me back. My cell showed that the call was 2min and 2 sec. She said she'd check and call back. She never called back, but that's not the worst of it. After more than 30 min, I called back. Guess what? The second lady was quite rude and outright hostile in my opinion. I called back and stated that I was checking in to see when a tech could come out. The woman told me that she checked and no one called me. I told her that someone called, mentioned my issue and mentioned the name of the company who gave them my info. I asked her how all of that info could be a glitch? She then told me that she'd checked and no one was claiming to have called me. I told her their number was on my phone. She told me something must be wrong with my phone. Well...I guess both me and my phone are hallucinating and inventing calls from oddly specific companies regarding oddly specific problems. Yes, that must be it. I told her she was very rude and unprofessional and that her behavior didn't make sense. After a while I called back, twice, to the very same number they first called me from. I also called them at the number on their website. They answered the phone but did not say 'hello.' They did this two times in a row. Shocking, I know. But the most shocking thing was yet to come. A little over an hour later, their tech showed up wanting to gain entrance to check on the very problem I was supposed to have hallucinated receiving a call about. I wonder how that happened. Both he and his truck are on camera. In any case, since they never called back to make an appointment, never answered their phone when I called back twice and were shockingly rude, it was a no go. Note to self: Never call or recommend Eagle Pest Eliminators to anyone at anytime ever.

I've been hearing noises lately that I thought could be possibly rodents. They came out within a few days of my calling and did a really thorough inspection. Jon was kind and professional. He seemed very knowledgeable. In terms of covid, he wore a mask and I felt comfortable. I would definitely have them come out again!

Roach Way Inn where there is no way out!

My experience with Eagle Pest was the bees knees! As an owner of a rental in Seattle where my tenant recently started seeing new roach activity, I had an appt. scheduled with United Pest. They cancelled 15 minutes before their scheduled arrival, I was as angry as a hornet. I called several pest control companies to try and get a same day inspection. Apparently, all of Seattle is dealing with bug issues so every company I called was booked up. I had major ants in my pants trying to locate someone. I was fortunate to call Eagle Pest and Jordan was able to squeeze me in. Jordan was one cool guy who was professional, on time and very knowledgeable about his work. I can say they are honest company, they don't require contracts and don't over charge. Thanks Eagle Pest, I'll be calling you for future pest problems.

Hope the issue is dealt with for good. BTW, the charge was very reasonable. Quiteimpressed with OMNI.

I was a repeat customer, for a problem that turns out they may not have eradicated the first time. I think these guys are good and do good work... IF they're able to solve it in that first visit. In two separate paid visits now, the "follow-up" appointments to check their work that THEY INITIATE get canceled. This last time, they rescheduled SIX TIMES, all last minute, after the time they were supposed to have shown up, or without any warning at all other than a "reschedule text" later. Do NOT pay your invoice after that first visit until you actually KNOW the problem has been solved, because the "free" follow-up appointments have been canceled last minute way too many times. And this was with written acknowledgement that the job had not been completed. I will share their "understanding" and empathetic "we're standing you up again" template here. Considering they started repeating excuses, I'm surprised they didn't accidentally send me the template itself: "Good morning, [customer]. We sincerely apologize for the [short notice, confusion, inconvenience]. Unfortunately, the technician assigned to your service has informed us that he is [sick, injured, forgot ladder, custom]. We appreciate your understanding, as this situation is beyond our control. Would you be available to reschedule your appointment on [Mon-Fri] (##/##) between ##:## and ##:## [am/pm]. Please let us know if this works for you, or kindly share your availability. Thank you for your patience and understanding." Honoring their appointments is NOT outside of their control. It's baffling a service provider would write this -- I will help translate: "We make one attempt at a job and then invoice you, stand you up multiple times for our advertised and self-initiated follow-up appointments, and then straightfaced gaslight you over text. Thank you for your understanding. We count on you being flexible, infinitely tolerant, reasonable and professional when workmanship issues arise, so that we don't have to be."

Squirrels were getting into our attic. He found trails in the insulation, and he identified four points of entry. He wrote up a proposal, and I thought the price was fair. I was impressed by his knowledge of the issue, and the quality of the work. I have some experience with other pest control companies in the past. Both were bigger companies, with owners then hiring guys to do the work. I like the model of this one better. I think we're working simpy with one, knowledgeable guy. He works in an unmarked truck. Jeremy came back, assessed the situation, and came back with a clear plan of actions. He even got a dead decaying rat out of my car hood for me. He immediately found rat access points. They're not easy to find alone, and also requires going into dirty wet or nasty spaces. I mean Jeremy crawled under my deck, crawl space, checked out the attic. It's not an easy or clean job! Then spent a few weeks setting traps, blocking access points with hardware wire and concrete or flashing, and came by often to check traps, pick up dead rodents, and check activity. I went from rat problem to no rats in a few weeks. After confirming no activity, we sanitized my crawl space and redid parts of my insulation and vapor barrier - which had rat poo all over it. He also helped me block rat access to my shed. Jeremy was awesome, respectful, timely, responsible, and had an awesome can do attitude. Had a great experience and I'm happy to be rat free! Highly recommend.

And, as always, now a bit longer answer: We have had an ongoing battle with wasps and yellow jackets for many years. They not only chase us off our decks, but they are also a direct danger to my husband due to his allergies. I have tried oh-so many ways to handle them myself to no avail. I have even had companies come out here to give me bids. As the guy is telling me we do not have a problem he is batting them away...yeah...no thank you. The other day my daughter and I were driving home from Town & Country Market (another fan favorite of mine) as we came upon a truck for Snohomish Pest Control. I called immediately (which means once I was in position to do so safely and legally...). The gal that answered the phone was so helpful and scheduled me right then. She even explained why the visit needed to take place when it was not raining since these wretched beasts (my words) were not out and about in such weather. Thank you! Jordan, the owner of Snohomish Pest Control, showed up on time and was amazing! Here are just a few of the reasons I say that: * He was respectful of me and my home. * He didn't freak out over our very large puppy, nor did he do anything to make that encounter worse by trying to engage with her. I say that because Valor is already big and "busy". I don't need someone "ramping her up". Jordan already understood that. * Jordan listened. YAY! * Next, he walked the entire property, again listening to my concerns. * After that, he explained everything he was suggesting he do, clearly and specifically. He also made sure I knew the chemicals they use would not hurt my pets or koi, nor would they kill mason or honey or bumble bees. Excellent! * Their prices are fair! * He then proceeded to actually treat the property right then, not next week, next month, he did it right then! Call them. You will thank me.

Bulwark has no concept of customer friendly scheduling. They always schedule on THEIR convenience and not the ours. The one time they auto-schedule an appointment agreeable to us--an appointment that I confirmed using their automated system the day before our swrvice--they cancel it the day of the service and reschedule us for two weeks later. NO EXPLANATION GIVEN. I had to call in order to discover that they were canceling all service in our area due to severe weather. Now that's understandable, but if conditions were that bad, why did they bother to ask us to confirm the day before the original service date when conditions were WORSE? It has been snowing for the past THEE DAYS leading up to our original appointment. That is the problem with Bulwark's automated scheduling. It takes the human element out of the equation which makes them come across as having no concept of customer relations. I have filed complaint after complaint about their scheduling and yet time and time again they consistently fall short. If you're a robot, by all means, come to Bulwark. Here they take care of all your pest problems...except perhaps the one biggest pest you could face: bad customer service from an office too dependant on automation--an office where looking out the window is their idea of gauging weather conditions.
