I've never been to Dunkin' Donuts but one day I was in Walnut Creek and I saw the Dunkin' Donuts sign. I decided that I wanted to try Dunkin' Donuts because I've heard so many great things about them! I went to Dunkin' Donuts in the middle of the day and there weren't any other customers in the store. However, I did see a few online orders being prepared. I decided to order half a dozen donuts. The 6 donuts fit perfectly in the mini donut box! I thought that the donuts were good! They were fresh and delicious. Were they the best donuts I've ever had? No but I still enjoyed them! The worker knew that it was my first time at Dunkin' Donuts and he was very patient with me. I was super excited when this place first opened since it is right next to my work place! However, it was super crowded and didn't end up going until a couple months later after the hype died down. It's located in the San Miguel center and is a medium sized little shop. The food here is definitely not up to par with the DD's on the east coast. The sausage croissant tasted horrible and their bagels are not the best either. The grilled cheese was okay and the hash browns are my go-to if I'm not feeling anything else. The biggest disappointment here compared to the ones on the east coast is the donuts are very dry. I am not impressed with the donuts here at all unfortunately and would not recommend it. Overhyped? I think I need a few more visits to form a second opinion. Came here on a Friday morning and there was a line. There were tables inside and were clean, though not many people were dining in. Didn't get to try their coffee this time around, did try their donuts! They weren't too bad. My only complaint is that the variety of donuts they have in store as not reflected on their app when you're ordering via the app. And you can only order 1 dozen donuts MAX via the app. Download the DD App to start collecting points on any purchases you make. You have to load a minimum of $2 first. You can order on the app and head straight to the pick-up counter without waiting in line! As an East Coast guy, I grew up near many Dunkin Donuts. So yes, I was happy to see this jewel hit the east bay. The donuts are superb, they offer a wide variety of flavors. Dunkin often has specials during the holidays. Be sure to try the Boston cream donut. I am not a coffee drinker but I hear their cup of Joe is pretty standard. This particular location actually is pretty nice inside and has plenty of seating. Do yourself a favor and check it out! read more

A bit of a disappointing and lackluster experience on grand opening morning. Arrived at 6:06 am and there was a nice long line already waiting. The line barely moved throughout my 40 minute wait up to the counter. They did come out and give a free DD tumbler with 2.00 gc inside and small sample of breakfast sandwhiches to ease the pain of the wait. Located inside the small plaza across from Whole Foods. The place itself has decent amount of seating and parking. The donuts are all up in the front so you can't go up and choose what you like. I got the boston creme, jelly filled and strawberry glazed for about $1.79 each and about 10 munchkins at 35 cents of chocolate, glazed and jelly to share with coworkers. What I didn't like was that they stuffed all of it into a small paper bag! They could've at least put it inside a small box like I saw other ppl carrying after checking out. The jelly filled had barely any jelly inside. It's about 3 x 3 inch size so you take a bite and halfway in there still is no jelly. The dough to jelly ratio is majorly lacking here. The boston creme had more creme than my jelly donut. Talk about being inconsistent. But the chocolate was good and not too sweet. The strawberry glazed was a-ok for me. Just a regular old fashioned donut with glaze on top. Since they put all my order in a paper bag. I had sb glaze on some of my munchkins. The munchkins are as advertised and probably what I would order and skip the donuts. Being a brand new establishment, there is a learning curve to be had but I don't think they'll sell the 1k donuts on opening day as noted by some news sources. read more

The poor girl filling orders was pleasant but she was the only one working. had preordered 3 dozen doughnuts for my sons school function, to be picked up at 845. Planned it that way so I wouldn't be late. Was there at 0852. Doughnuts not ready until 915. SEcond visit, pre Covid, went to get donuts for my boys at the counter and a coffee for me, using my app. Saw him ring up a pound of coffee on the charge, asked him about it and he said, "oh don't worry, it will come off". When all was ready and I picked up, saw that he had charged me for the pound of coffee that I never bought. I had to get someone's attention and spoke to the manager (a female now) and she apologized as he sneered from across the way. Be careful. I use the app and I can only wonder how often they have done this to other people. Third visit, ordered ahead of time in the app, 2 donuts, munchkins, coffee and breakfast sandwich. Went in to pick it up and my sons doughnuts were missing. I had to get the attention of the worker and she argued with me. What kind of customer service is this? Crazy loud music blaring this morning at 7:45am, coffee was watery (which is the way some folks like it) so the cream & sugar they added to my large cup was way too much & turned it white. Had to start fresh with a new cup. Doughnuts are just ok, they are soft like hostess and not crisp on the outside like I prefer. Ugh. Starving this morning. Stopped by to grab breakfast and some treats for my co workers to go. It was crowded, but the line moved quickly. Ordered a turkey sausage, egg and cheese sandwich- received a cold piece of meat, warm egg and cheese was not melted on a luke warm English muffin. Took two bites and threw it away. Also ordered a mix of munchkins to take to work. Those were ok, but nothing special. My coffee was not like what I'm used to at the east coast Dunkins. Had iced, original blend with French vanilla. Over 100 people showed up including the CHP and Chipper their mascot. Parents helped their children package 1200 teddy bears with coloring books and color pencils along with secret messages to the child in need from the child who prepared the teddy bear package for them Bobby and I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all the volunteers that showed up early to help set up. This event could not have gone so well without you The day was filled with smiles, good deeds and laughter. The kids and adults seemed to be having a ball and Bobby and I can't thank them enough for their support! We would also like to thank the California Highway Patrol for donating bicycle helmets to anyone that attended. We raised $1445.18 today On raffle tickets for items donated by local businesses. With shipping our Teddy Bears currently cost is about $3 each. So next year another 481 children in distress will receive a teddy bears packaged with love and the secret message just like today This one event put us almost halfway towards our annual goal of $3600 which provides a Teddy Bear for each of the 1200 1st responder vehicles throughout the entire state of California. These 1200 Teddy bears will be split up between 12 local CHP departments in Northern California. I have always been a customer of Dunkin', and this particular location as it is closest to where I live. However, my last experience here will have me looking elsewhere. I've seen similar reviews and all I can say is at least I am not alone. I came in to order a few Munchkins, had a balance enough to fulfill the order on my app, which I used to pay. After scanning my card, TWICE, I was then told my card had no balance and was asked to pay AGAIN by the staff there. Of course I had no balance anymore, you charged me twice! Came here on a weekday morning to try this place out! It was about 5:30 am and several customers had already passed through. There was only one cashier but she had a large order to process before me so I waited for about 5 minutes standing there waiting to be helped. When the cashier got to me, she was helpful in explaining one of the doughnut options I was considering--the vanilla cream doughnut, which appeared to have powdered sugar topping it. I do wish that they have labels on the doughnut baskets because if I was pretty indecisive, I would have had to ask her to name me multiple doughnuts I was pointing at, that looked tasty. There's also no menu for the doughnuts, and I totally understand since they may change up the selections daily/seasonally. Service was overall decent. So I ordered the Boston kreme doughnut and a large latte with almond milk. When I got the latte, there was barely any foam, and I'm thinking that the drink wasn't hot enough. The coffee had a burnt taste to it and the almond flavor was a bit overwhelming. It was reminiscent of a Starbucks latte, but it was worse. I thought DD was known to have decent coffee and they even have their own coffee lines, so I was pretty disappointed. At least it was a free drink since I had downloaded the DD app. The Boston kreme doughnut was also not as good as expected. A friend made a recommendation to get this flavor. I felt the doughnut was a bit old--not very light or fluffy. It was a pretty heavy feeling doughnut. The filling tasted like boxed vanilla pudding, and was also on the sweeter side for my taste. I was looking forward to finding a new chain doughnut store, outside of Krispy Kreme, but I think KK is better...I would definitely pick a mom and pop doughnut shop over both though if I had to pay for my doughnuts (I used the T-Mobile Tuesday app offer). As for interior, I really like the modern feel of the DD shop. It's also very clean and has plenty of outlets for studying! I came to get donuts and coffee in the morning and it was a great experience! Food was good, they were quick, and a guy working there was cleaning the windows. When we left he was even cleaning the sidewalk in front of the doorway. I think that's great to see them keeping the place spotless! I also love that there's always parking available. read more

One of my BFFs had told me good things about Dunkin Donuts coffee, although I had yet to taste it for myself. So when the Walnut Creek location opened, I bookmarked this spot for a future visit. Located just off the Iron Horse Trail and across the street from Whole Foods, I decided to run the eight miles from home. On my birthday. Because that's how I kick off a special occasions. Thankfully, my honey selflessly offered to meet me there, so I didn't have to run the eight miles back home. Or maybe because he couldn't resist the idea of caffeine and donuts? Perhaps a combination of both. When I told the super nice young person helping us that I'd never had Dunkin Donuts, she gasped and said, "Whaaaaaat?" She then happily guided me through some of the most popular donut options. Along with a cold brew coffee, I got not one but TWO donuts -- a Boston Kreme and an Old Fashioned. Apparently, the Boston Kreme is a best seller. First, the coffee. I found their cold brew to be so delicious and smooth. It didn't even require any add ins... Granted, I typically drink my coffee black. The donuts were quite tasty as well. I appreciated how light and fluffy the Old Fashioned is, a great contrast to the denser and creme-filled Boston Kreme. I will definitely return for their coffee. I think I could take or leave their donuts. read more

I think it's sad that customers rate restaurants based on how long the line/wait time is especially when it's grand opening. If you don't want to wait in line, so you don't have to b!*tch about it, don't go when it's grand opening week, duh! Passed by here 2x after grand opening and walked away because of the long line to order donuts which at times wrapped around the corner. 3rd time was a charm, luckily I live walking distance from this place. Now for my 3 star rating. My history with DD are these, I'm Filipino, lived in the Philippines, lived in NY, visited the east coast often and craved DD a lot. My hubby and I have been looking forward for the opening since Taco Bell closed. We finally were able to try DD walnut creek, and boy-oh-boy! So disappointed. The donut consistency was just not right. It tasted stale not fresh. The munchkins were not fully coated but halfway done. Our cold drink was, well, blah. I don't know what happened to this DD.
