First time ordering from them through Uber Eats and did their buy 1 get 1 donuts and wow!! The glaze melts in your mouth. I might even say.. similar if not better than a krispy kreme donut! Breakfast croissant was decent, probably better fresh! Will order from them again!

Absolute best donuts I've had in the bay area and it's not particularly close. I don't know what in the heck they do to these but their donuts are so incredibly soft and fluffy in the middle it's amazing. Super nice people too, always happy to serve you. It's a very old school sort of place, they've been there for decades and I've been going there for decades and I'm so happy they've maintained such consistent quality. They're a local institution for a reason!

Stopped in for donuts during a visit home. Fast service and delicious donuts! Everything is super fresh and made the same day. This place has been here since I was a child and is just as good now. Lots of choices-the ube donut was great! Paid around $12 for half dozen, and they threw in a few glazed donut holes too. They also have breakfast sandwiches in a small case on top of the donut case. The signage inside has been updated a bit, but it has the same old time feel that it's always had. A great place to stop for a treat while in Lafayette!

We came here on a Sunday at 8am. Everything was fully stocked and a lot of options. The service is fast and prices are reasonable. My kids really liked these doughnuts

A staple in Lafayette. Always consistently delicious. Perfectly fluffy and flavorful. One of the only places I have been to that has maple bars and chocolate bars you can get filled with cream! And the custard cream is so flavorful and light. Staff is so incredibly friendly and gave me some donut holes on the house with my purchase. I love this family owned business so much!

We just found our favorite donut shop for apple fritters! Their Apple fritters are soft, moist, the perfect crunch and crisp outer layer! It has the perfect balance of sweetness and just enough taste of the apple. Overall, the fritter has everything you're looking for from texture, taste, portion, and price! If you're on the hunt for an apple fritter, please come here and try it. My wife and I can't wait to come back for more!

I'm so glad I finally tried Johnny's Donuts, which is now my new favorite donut shop in Contra Costa County! I went in around 10am on a Thursday with two people ahead of me in line. There was a good selection of donuts with everything I was hoping for, plus a surprise of seeing they had Ube donuts (5/5)! I LOVE Ube so I had to get one. All the donuts were fresh. I also bought a chocolate glazed (5/5), vegan chocolate sprinkles (5/5), and gave my parter a maple bar, which he enjoyed. The owner was so nice and even gave me three free donut holes with my order. I needed to make the $10 minimum to use my card so I also got a Vietnamese coffee (4/5), which was strong and tasty. I sat at one of their booths to enjoy my coffee and Ube donut, and enjoyed the old school, nostalgic atmosphere. I look forward to coming back to try more of their donuts!

Got a chance to try these doughnuts and they were amazing!! Passionfruit was perfect, and the old fashioned was fantastic. The star of the show was the ube, though - I've had plenty of ube mochi doughnuts, but this was the first time I had a cake one and it was incredible. Still thinking about it a month later!

Johnny's Donuts has been around for decades and is definitely a Lafayette institution. Located in the same strip mall as Diablo Foods, this tiny family-owned shop makes some of the best donuts in Central Contra Costa County. From the display cases to the counter seating, the interior oozes old-school charm and character. They offer your typical donut fare and beverages, plus a few breakfast items. Honestly, you can't go wrong anything here. I love that their donuts are always big, fluffy, and not too sweet. The female owner is super friendly and welcoming. A dozen donuts here will set you back $19, about the same price as Dunkin. Parking can be an issue during peak business hours. Just be patient and you will be rewarded!

Having not been here in years, I found it to be a different and disappointing experience. We had to flag down a person to clean the table, which was still sticky when we sat down. Not rude service but could hardly be considered friendly either. The one thing that annoyed me the most was clearing an individuals dishes while the others were still eating. Plenty of empty tables so what's the rush? Given the cost, plus tip, Sideboard was nothing special. Plenty of other solid choices in the Lamorinda area.

On the way back, we were sooo thirsty that we needed to stop and get something refreshing. Fortunately we found Lilikoi! I ended up ordering a large POG and literally chugged it within a few minutes. It was tasty and refreshing, but I will admit this was the best drink out of the ones we ordered. They have a strawberry black tea with cream and it honestly tasted really bad and weird. I wasn't impressed with the menu frankly, nothing seemed unique or different. There's also no room to sit inside and it was super hot outside, so we had to resign ourselves to sitting in the shade outside. Overall, I would say it's good in a pinch but there are plenty of other options elsewhere.

Will we get good or mediocre drinks today? Will our drinks be accurate or would we need to spend some more time to get our drinks fixed? Always a gamble, but hey, I do love to gamble (usually in a different setting lol). Sometimes the drinks are really good. The ones I've had the most consistencies are their house milk tea and their tropical fruit tea. Recommendation is to order everything as-is since if things (such as sugar level) are adjusted, it's most likely watered down. Luckily the drinks aren't way too sweet, but still a bit sweeter than I'd like, and I'd prefer a bit more tea flavor. My daughter has been big on their Thai tea, but after some inconsistencies with flavor, she's switched to their matcha horchata drink. Pretty good, and they have other kinds of drinks like that too. My son likes the house milk tea with lychee jelly, and the husband enjoys the Oreo drinks here, but they don't taste right in my opinion. I like their house milk tea, jasmine milk tea, tropical fruit tea, and once a while, their ube taro drink. On the safe side, I normally stick with tropical tea and house milk tea at this location. Props to Lilikoi for having some "unique" drinks such as mango almighty (mango smoothie with tajin and chamoy), various horchata drinks, and more. They seem to specialize more in the tropical fruit teas, so highly recommend for those.

My gosh. So welcoming. So proud of the shop, its products and their leadership. I hope the owners know. First timer here and I spent $52. Readers: the $52 was completely worth it as soon as we took a bite of the passion fruit mochi. Heaven sent. It's akin to Kailua's Bits & Bites on Oahu. Please don't ever close. I ordered a matcha Americano, and the cashier corrected me by saying, "You can just say matcha neat." That was unnecessary, but I brushed it off. Whether she intended it or not, making that comment right in front of a customer who had just ordered that exact drink was incredibly unprofessional and rude. It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The drink itself wasn't the issue--it was the lack of courtesy and respect. Customer service matters, and this interaction completely changed my impression of a place I used to enjoy visiting. The location is easy to get to, with lots of parking behind in a lot, and it's very clean, with lots of chairs and tables; yet all were filled this Saturday evening, which is a good sign. There are too many pastries, treats, and drinks to even cover, and we spent a few minutes trying to find our choices, which you mainly pick from cabinets using a self-serve tray and tongs. For drinks and cake (whole or sliced), you order those at the counter. We decided on some pastries, some cake slices, and a drink. And S'mores was the predominant theme today. We ordered a raspberry fruit bite, 2 chocolate supreme croissants, 2 S'mores Belgian waffles, a sugar mochi donut, a coffee donut croissant, 2 slices of S'mores chocolate marshmallow cake, and a slice of rainbow cake. We also got the cream cheese puff and the crème brûlée bombolone ... quite the name! And, of course, a S'mores frappe! The server helping us at the register was polite and efficient, but there was only one register open and a long line. As such, other folks were helping gather the goodies from the cake case, and as we were taking these to go, we did not realize until we were home that the rainbow cake was not a rainbow cake, but a THIRD slice of S'mores cake. Ugh. That one was chosen by the 8-year-old, who was understandably not happy, and the additional insult of paying extra (above the cost of the S'mores) for a cake we didn't get made ME unhappy too! Paid $8.29, got a $6.99 cake slice. The pastries are generally good, with some very good and some more of a "meh." Among the best were the raspberry fruit bite and the coffee donut croissant. That coffee one was a surprise, as it had a soft liquid filling we didn't realize when buying, and the taste was very coffee, which I loved. Will get that again for sure. The S'mores chocolate supreme croissant was also popular. The crème brûlée bombolone was different, with a light pastry and a filling different from what I usually find in crème puffs, and it was tasty. The waffles were not a light and airy as we would have liked, but the flavor was good. The mochi donut was a bit dry as well, not up to true Japanese bakery standards, and the cream cheese puff was all puff and short on the cream cheese (see photos). And the S'more cake was good for flavor, very rich and S'morey, but the presentation really is lacking. Not that I normally compare one chain to another, but for example, when we get Crumbl, the product is very close to the advertising. Not so with the S'more cake, and I am not even sure all the layers were there and in the proper order or proportion; check out the photos and see what I mean. However, the flavor was spot on, and that is the ultimate goal, although the "eyes eat first," as we Yelpers know! And the highlight was not a pastry or cake, but the S'more frappe. It was layered beautifully, fresh-tasting, and very S'morey (yes, a new word I now love!). We even got a second, as we had to eat this there so it could be shared by the group, and it was calling us! Definitely hope it is available next visit, and Starbucks could take a lesson in quality versus price point. Some of the pastries here are really not worth the cost for the product (would skip the cream cheese puff, for example, and the mochi donut), but everything else was very good. Other than an error in fulfilling the order correctly and a couple a poor pastries (quality), it was a good first visit, and we all would come back when near a location.
