Fun donut chain finally in the East bay :) My partner and I tried Duck Donuts down in SoCal and were excited to see it open in the same lot as BevMo and Walgreens! Lots of parking in a big shared lot. The donuts were a little pricey and take a little to make but every order is made fresh and the donuts come out nice and warm. Nothing beats biting into a warm cake donut! My faves were the maple bacon and vanilla cake with sprinkles. The donuts were soft and cakey and went really well with coffee.

My first time at Duck Donuts & it did not miss! The staff were so friendly & attentive they explained their process and how to order. They are freshly made donuts that are customized to order right in front of you, I got the half dozen so we could try many flavors and all of the ones we got were so delicious. We ordered: Glaze Powdered sugar Coffee cake Chocolate Double chocolate Blueberry pancake It was soo yummy! They look a bit small but so filling & have that old fashioned donut taste. Ours came out warm too so that was a plus. Such a fun treat added to the plaza I love it!

Delicious freshly made donuts! I've had Duck Donuts twice now, and will definitely be back for more. The donuts are prepared fresh after you order them - they add the toppings in front of you. I love the French Toast and Chocolate Confetti donuts. The interior is inviting and fun, with lots of small rubber ducks decorating the store. It's a takeout place, but there is some seating outside. Service was friendly and helpful. My donuts were ready within 5 minutes.

I heard about this donut shop prior to its opening! This is a national donut shop that's new to the area, and they are known for their piping hot, made-to-order donuts! My son loves donuts, so I was excited to bring him here. As a little treat, we had a mom-son outing to Duck Donuts. I wanted to love this place as we sometimes treat him to donuts, and could loop this into a place we could offer to him as a treat, but alas, it missed the mark for us. The donut shop is in an interesting location, near Bev Mo by the freeway exit. The parking is free and easy, but the location definitely makes it lose ambiance points. Inside is cute, adorned with lots of duck decor. This is not so great if you're with an eager toddler that wants everything cute (this isn't my son, so we're good), but just a heads up for parents taking littles. There's lots of merch for sale at eye level for tots. I was a little disappointed that people were appearing with free donut coupons and 6 for $6 coupons that apparently were sent to local residents, but alas, we were never mailed one, so that sucks. It's pretty unfortunate to be standing there paying full price, when everyone else isn't. It just doesn't feel great, but whatever. My review isn't about that. Anyway, we ordered two donuts. They have some set donuts, but you're also welcome to customize your own donut which my son and I both opted to do. The person at the register didn't explain that this was an option, but thankfully, I saw it on the screen. She was a little annoyed I opted to browse the menu on the screen and commented that she'd be out of a job if I ordered through the tablet. She was half joking, but was pretty sarcastic sounding and condescending, so it felt awkward. The tablet actually shows more options (like choosing two toppings and two drizzles), and it's much easier to see the whole menu and all the customization choices at once. I liked being able to take my time browsing without feeling rushed to decide. Now to the donuts! It was great that the donuts came out hot. However, I don't feel it worked well with the toppings, actually. The toppings came out oozy and kind of a mess. It was incredibly hard to eat and it was definitely a fork and knife situation which I wasn't expecting from a donut. It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where everyone is eating their desserts like a candy bar with silverware. A donut is a lowbrow, casual dessert...there's no need to bring out the utensils! Also, their plastic knives wouldn't really cut through the donut. I mean, maybe if they added some linen to the tables and proper silverware and served it on a real plate, and made this an highend experience, it'd be different. Also, the donut itself was kind of small. It seemed smaller than a Krispy Kreme donut. It was also sweeter. It was too sweet for me! Both my son and I got bacon as one of our toppings, which was cool and different! I was grateful that we both added that topping (we shared our donuts) because the savory note broke up the sweetness a bit. Without the bacon, it probably would have felt inedible to me. My son who loves to gush about food, was pretty indifferent about the donut which is saying a lot, and he likes sweets and donuts a lot more than me. I'm happy we tried it, but it's not something we'll be ordering again. I think we both agreed that there are far better donut shops in the area. It was a fun experience and I'm happy we tried it, but I think it's a one and done for me. If that free donut coupon ever comes in the mail though, I'd be back . But for the full price and quality, ehhhh...

I kept waiting to see when this location of Duck Donuts was opening but they never announced it on Instagram so we finally dropped in to check them out while we were visiting BevMo next door and they are officially open! We fell in love with Duck Donuts on a visit to Las Vegas last year and I've been so psyched that they're going to have a location close to us! Walking in I ordered a beach ball togo and loved checking out their duck decor. The service was a little standoffish and not as bubbly and friendly as the Las Vegas location, but my donut came out warm in a small carry out box. The donut was fresh and delicious and I really enjoyed the flavor, so all in all a wonderful start to a new location!

Duck Donuts finally made its way to NorCal and I couldn't be happier!! There are a few locations in SoCal and they've been on my radar for years, but I finally tried them once the opened closer to home. This is not your average mom and pop donut shop. Duck Donuts was founded by Russ DiGilio and opened their first location in 2007 in Duck, North Carolina. They specialize in made to order cake donuts that you can tailor to your own specific taste and the toppings are put on the donuts right when the donuts come out of the fryer. The interior is very cute, vibrant and fun. The walls are decorated with cute donuts and fun captions. They have plenty of little ducks around the store for you to admire or purchase. The menu here is a nice size, they have 28 different flavors of donuts for you to choose from that come in boxes of a dozen, half dozen or two. They also have donut hole dippers, ice cream, donut breakfast sandwiches and various beverages. I ordered a box of two and the flavors I opted for were Strawberry Shortcake and Raspberry Fluff. The strawberry shortcake was topped with strawberry icing, graham cracker crumbs and vanilla drizzle. The raspberry fluff was topped with vanilla icing, raspberry and marshmallow drizzle. The donut itself was so soft and moist, literally melted in my mouth but was a bit heavy. The strawberry shortcake was my favorite because the flavors were more prominent and went very well with the hot donut. I feel as though with the raspberry fluff I didn't get enough raspberry flavor. But the donuts are amazing! I've very picky with cake donuts because a lot of the time they can be a bit dry but this was definitely not the case and having them freshly made to order makes all of the difference. Overall, this is a must try and I will be back! I can't wait to try one of those donut breakfast sandwiches!

Duck Donuts has opened its first store in NorCal and the location could not be more convenient. Located right off the freeway, in the center of the plaza with ample parking, what more could you ask for? This place specializes in made to order CAKE donuts. So if you're a fan of raised donuts, this place may not be the spot for you. Right as you walk in, you're welcomed by friendly staff that greet you, a space that is bright and clean, counters adorned with cute rubber duckies and walls hanging soft plushies. You can place your order on the screens at the counter. If it's busy enough, they also have a person that will take orders to speed up the wait. Menus are clearly displayed with all the flavors and pricing on televisions on the right hand side. There's also a printed menu on the counter for their takeout pre-fixe options if you're looking to order half a dozen or a dozen of their classics and fan favorites. We opted to order 2 boxes of two of the following flavors: s'mores, French toast, chocolate explosion, chocolate covered strawberry. Wait time for all four donuts was about 5 minutes. I appreciated the ledge where kids can stand to watch the workers decorate the donuts. The donuts came in a nice sturdy box with a whimsical duck design on it and had flaps to prop up to let the hot steam escape. We tried the smores donut and it was absolutely delicious. Warm, soft, and not overly sweet for the cake donut itself. Give it a try for yourself!Next time, we'll be back to try the ice cream sandwiches!

First time trying Duck Donuts and it was a fun experience. The donuts are made to order. I got a sweet one for my son and a savory breakfast one for myself. The confetti donut was warm and perfectly glazed. For me the bacon egg cheese sandwich between a donut was amazing. Initially I wasn't sure as I thought it would be sweet and savory, but it's just savory but it has a nice donut crust crunch on the outside complimented with a nice crunch on the inside from the bacon. The inside decor is fun and everyone was really nice. I asked my son how many stars from 1 to 5, he gave it a 10! Kid approved.

Absolutely delicious donuts! Yes they are a little more expensive than your average donut, but come on now, we know these are specialty donuts with great toppings. Even through DoorDash they arrived warm and delicious. Will absolutely be coming back!

First time walking into Duck Donuts and buying from them! First, the customer service was stellar, genuine, and extremely nice. The ambiance was kid friendly and very fun to be inside. All the customers looked like they were having a good time too. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had in a donut shop. The donuts were fresh out the oven and they decorate in front of you. I've never had such a moist and delicious sugar donut ever. It's a must try. I'll be going back often for sure!

I really wanted to love this place, but it missed the mark on uniqueness, quality, taste, and value. At $3.75 per donut (over $4 w/tax) the donuts were surprisingly small (think size of a Krispy Kreme donut--if not smaller) with very average toppings and nothing that stood out flavor-wise. Definitely not worth the price in my opinion--one and done.

Being a Cambodian donut shop loyalist, I found these a very good compromise between the Dunkin' Donut and made fresh daily donuts. The different creative flavors make them fun to try each one (I liked the blueberry streusel and appreciated the soft/medium bacon bits on top of the maple donut) but I still prefer my perfectly fluffy Cambodian made donuts aka All Star in WC, Colonial Donuts in Oakland or Golden Gate in TL. The service was quick for being made to order. The total was about $35 for half dozen and 3 coffees--a bit steep as I'd be able to get nearly two dozen for the same price elsewhere.

Checked out a brand Donut spot in Wc. Its a designer donut where you can watch them make your donuts. It had lots of combos and flavors. You can watch them decorate and design your donut i front of you. They are very good and that the Cinnamon sugar was on display as a sample which made me get it. The people are nice and they also gave coffee. Definitely worth a stop and will be a fun place to stop by with kiddos or if you need a sweet spot.
