I say it all the time in my reviews. I've had access to a plethora of coffee and matcha industry. And wherever I am on the globe, I always look for these shops during our adventures. Milly & Illian. My gosh. So welcoming. So proud of the shop, its products and their leadership. I hope the owners know. First timer here and I spent $52. Readers: the $52 was completely worth it as soon as we took a bite of the passion fruit mochi. Heaven sent. It's akin to Kailua's Bits & Bites on Oahu. Please don't ever close. Please stay open longer. This is the first time I've tried this after wanting to visit for so many years. I work full time andddd I live in 707 so it's a little bit of a trek out here. Orrrrr consider bringing this to 707- I would recommend Benicia if you are familiar with first street. You'd kill it here! I want to bring it back to my guys Milly and Illian. I'm big big big on energy and customer service and you both broughttttt it. Being 38 when I visit these very trendy IG worthy spots, I'm usually disappointed- if not by the coffee or dessert, most definitely by the customer service. I think their recipe definitely is better than other competing matcha spots in the area. As we waited for our drinks we noticed the cute sign they had! Definitely a nice touch to the shops ambiance. As we were getting ready to leave, the kind worker who took our order even asked us if we wanted any of their leftover pastries! We chatted and she mentioned how they were closing for a week long summer break. My friend and I picked pastries based on how they looked, and she even proceeded to tell us a bit about the flavors they had. Although I don't consume gluten free products myself, this was definitely a plus for other customers who might. When we got to the car we tried some pastries. I fell in love with the churro pastry and my friend enjoyed the muffin with seeds on top (reference picture included). Hands down, this donut shop in the East Bay is the best! I've tried most of their offerings, and they're all top-notch and incredibly delicious. I had to pluck off a few Jalapenos, but I enjoyed the sandwich. + Pastrami sandwich on a roll - this was served on dutch crunch. Sandwich was tasty with a generous amount of pastrami and a good combination of veggies. Overall, a good bagel/sandwich shop in a great location. Their sandwiches are quite large for the low (in store) prices. Oh, they also have boba tea drinks and Vietnamese coffee. But we didn't try any of the drinks.
