We ordered To-go on a Tuesday evening and everything was excellent! We even got the bunny buns and they were a perfect fluffy desert finish. The restaurant exterior decor is nothing fancy or to write home about but the food is yummy and our order was ready in a very reasonable amount of time for the quantity ordered. We hope to go back when we visit the Houston area again and highly recommend this little gem to others wanting dumplings. :)

We recently visited Dumpling World for lunch time with the family. Our group of 6 was seated at one of their large round tables/benches which fit our group perfectly. You know I love round tables when dining with a group, especially if we're eating family style! We came at 12:15 on a Sunday and there were only a few tables dining in. However after about 20 minutes, people started coming in droves, including a group of 20, likely the after-church crowd. By the time we finished eating, the restaurant was filled, with only 1 or 2 empty tables. Service was fast and friendly throughout our visit. At first, the servers looked bored as they were standing around with only a few tables to wait on. Fortunately, that changed quickly and they still were attentive to our table. We ordered the Pork Xiaolongbao, Pork & Scallion Pan-Fried Thumb Buns, Pork & Scallion Potstickers, Eggplant & Minced Pork Noodle, Chinese Burrito set with Sautéed Shredded Pork, Orange Chicken, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup. My favorites were the Pan-Fried Thumb Buns and the Eggplant & Minced Pork Noodle! The thumb buns are basically steamed dumplings that are pan-fried on the bottom to give it extra crisp. The (dry) noodle dish is so flavorful and they manage to make the eggplant pieces extra crispy. The hand-pulled noodles in that one also have a nice chewy texture to them. The Chinese Burrito was definitely a unique one - not quite moo shu pork, but similar concept with the pancake wrapper that you stuff with the meat and veggies. I'd be interested to try the other variations they have of this. The Xialongbao tasted fine, however every one of our 6 dumplings stuck to the paper base, which caused some to break as we were trying to separate them from the paper. One improvement area is the presentation of the dishes. Dishes are served on (hard) plastic plates which feel a bit cheap and slide around the table easily, especially if you're family styling everything. Also, each dish came with what seemed to be a random utensil for serving. Some came with a metal fork, some came with a metal spoon, some came with nothing at all and we had to ask for an extra spoon. Consistency would be helpful here, along with actual serving utensils rather than just a small spoon or fork. Even tongs would be helpful for the dry noodle dishes! Dumpling World is a solid spot for Asian food in the Clear Lake area. Whether you're looking for dumpling and noodle dishes, or just Americanized Chinese food, the menu is fairly comprehensive with lots to choose from. While I do miss Noodles & Dumplings that was previously in this spot, Dumpling World has definitely made their mark.

Food, Service all 10/10! Ambiance 9/10 just cause it was rather warm in there and I had to ask them to turn on the air. It was definitely a different restaurant before but who cares. The dumplings were huge and had a ton of soup. And it was flavorful! The little thumb buns were fun to eat and the green beens were good. I did add some chili oil for a kick. But damn I'm definitely coming back and I highly recommend others to come. The quality for the price is great.

Probably the best spot in the Clear Lake area for soup dumplings! They have a solid menu of assorted steamed/fried dumplings and wontons as well as standard Chinese American dishes. We ordered a couple orders of the pork soup dumplings which were savory and pairs well with some chili crisp and vinegar. The Dan Dan noodles with minced pork and sesame paste was also a great side (and on par with other spots like Mala Sichuan). I also tried the Sichuan green beans and chow mein (for the kiddos). Service was also quick and helpful. You probably won't find a better spot in SE Houston outside of traveling to downtown/Bellaire area for similar quality dumplings or dim sum.

Woah! This place is SO good! Started off with mushroom soup dumplings, braised pork potstickers, and sour soup dumplings and after we finished those I proceeded to order 2 more dumplings which were the shrimp and pork soup dumplings and the chicken and corn potstickers. Loved all of them. Fantastic dumplings. Service was nice too they bring an iPad and double check with you to make sure everything was ordered correctly. Cute little place that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere but I feel that adds more charm to it. Overall would come back to try more dumplings. Now, you may be wondering why it's 4 stars instead of 5. It's pricey to eat here. I spent $100 and only ordered 5 rounds of dumplings. As much as I like the potstickers and the soup dumplings you only get 6 for anywhere between $10-12 which I find a bit steep. Regardless would come back when I'm craving a REALLY good dumpling and willing to splurge money. But def not a place I can just come whenever I feel like due to the price tag.

My parents, husband and I were regulars at 888 Bistro, ironically next door. It has been awhile since we'd been back because the quality and service wasn't consistently up to par. So, I found Dumpling World based on other Yelpers and thought we'd give them a try. Don't let the outside appearance deter you from giving them a chance. We were glad we did. The interior was very spacious, clean and bright. The second we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. We ordered the lunch specials, which come with a choice of soup and an appetizer. The lunch prices were good value for your money. The shrimp lunch specials were only a $1.00 more, which is unusual these days. The food came out fairly quick and was very tasty. I'm picky about my hot & sour soup. I like to make it at home when I have time. I'd give it an 8/10 it could've been slightly more sour and spicy. It was the perfect consistency of thickness and not runny just like the way my parents used to make it decades ago at their old restaurant, China Star. IYKYK! Coincidentally, down the street on Sealark! I had some extra chili oil and vinegar they had on the table so I added more flavor. The service and food were great. We'll be bringing my parents next time to try their dumplings!

We were looking for somewhere low-key to go for Valentine's Day and I love any/all dumplings so we went here [I was particularly intriqued by the bunny buns]. We ordered beef and onion boil dumplings, curry chicken & potato pan-fried dumplings, soup dumplings, pork & scallion pan-fried dumplings, shrimp, pork & chive thumb buns, orange chicken, and the bunny buns for dessert. It was waay too much for us, but they heated up well. The beef boiled dumplings were bigger than expected and didn't taste like the pelmeni [Russian] beef dumplings I've had before, but they were good. I thought curry was weird inside a dumpling but it was very tasty. The overall favorite were the shrimp, pork, and chive thumb buns. The soup dumplings had liquid inside with the meat so there made for a unique dining experience, but they were very tasty also. Some of the negatives were the dumplings weren't served with any dipping sauces and I wasn't able to make a good one out of what was on the table, the lighting seemed unnecessarily bright to me, the server may have been a bit overburdened [I think they had a sign they were hiring though], and the bunny buns were not as advertised [though they tasted great].

I was blown away by this restaurant. Unbelievable variety of dumplings as well as other dishes. And as if their menu weren't big enough, they have a daily specials menu board that always seems to have 7 to 10 offerings. We particularly liked the soup dumplings, the thumb buns, and something they call Chinese burrito. I believe the Chinese burrito item is just a variation of what is commonly known as mushu. You get a generous helping of finely slivered pork with plum sauce, and really well-made rice pancakes. Additionally, it comes with a plate of beautifully slivered green onions, carrots, and cucumbers. Delicious! Don't neglect to order sesame balls, just before you finish your entrées, so that you get them at peak temperature and crispiness. Oh my, I nearly swooned, these were so good.

I had to come here because I'd never had soup dumplings before but keep hearing how good they are! We had a party of 5. Myself and my husband, 11 year old, 5 year old, and 3 year old. My 11 YO is vegetarian and was nervous there wouldn't be enough food he could have but there was plenty. We got veggie spring rolls, steamed bok choy dumplings, steamed spicy tofu dumplings, spicy and sour pork dumplings, pork and mushroom soup dumplings, taro soup dessert dumplings, and bunny custard dumplings. It was a lot of food and there was nothing left by the time we were done. If I could do it again, I think I would get the veggie dumplings potstickers instead because I think the extra texture and a little more flavor would be great. The spicy and sour dumplings were amazing and not spicy at all! I will 100% be getting them again next time (and there WILL be a next time). The bunny custard dumplings were so good I'll be thinking about them all the time! If im Not stopping in for everything any time in in the area, I'll be stopping for a to-go order of the bunny custard dumplings. They are the perfect amount of sweet and are soooo cute! The service was amazing. They were so kind and answered all the questions we had about everything while also being patient and kind to the little kids. The booth we sat in was round and had a vintage vibe to it. It was comfortable, which says a lot coming from me. I usually cut my time short at restaurants if the seats are too u comfortable for my bad back. We will be back! When you visit, make sure you get the spicy and sour dumplings and the bunny custard dumplings. You won't regret it!

We returned here while we were back in town at the great wolf lodge. Everything was amazing and we had great service! We ordered the pork soup dumplings, green beans, chicken lo mein, beef with garlic sauce, and the rice cakes for dessert. 2 issues with this experience: it was hot!!! Idk if something was wrong with their AC or what but I sweat the whole time. Not great when you're spending $80 on lunch. The second was the rice cakes took an eternity. They were bland and I wish we would have ordered the sesame red bean balls instead. We might come back another time before we head home....and I'll bring our personal fans and order the sesame balls for desert!

I LOVE the Pork & Scallion Pan fried Dumplings! I try to come here at least once a week especially since this location is not real close to the area of town I hang out. This place was formerly known as "Noodles and Dumplings". Everyone was super friendly as we entered the establishment. We were seated immediately and our server answered all our questions. Everything we ordered came out hot, fresh & super delicious. Did not get a chance to take a lot of photos of the food. Everyone was ready to eat! We are definitely coming back very soon for more dumplings. The parking lot is a bit limited but don't let that discourage you from trying their food. Going with 4 really a 3.5. I'll go back but server must have had a bad experience as would not recommend anything. Pork egg rolls were OK would not get them again. BBQ ribs not great would not get again. Mushroom bok Choy was not great mushrooms and bok were not soft did not like the sauce. Did not like the Thai tea. What was really good was the dumplings. The soup dumplings and the spicy and sour dumplings were delicious. I will go back and try the other dumplings so give it a try. read more

Soup dumplings were 10/10, their stir-fried green beans are also pretty good. Ambiance is lovely. Service was a tad inattentive, which I don't mind, but it was long enough to irritate the person I was with (sat for a long time with no order taken + had to ask for boxes/to pay at the end). There was one off-putting moment; it felt like the staff were not really friendly (other than the nice man who brought us cups/plates/water), UNTIL it came time to tip on the tablet... It felt like the guy was being extremely friendly in a fake way to get a better tip, post-dinner, after we're already all boxed up and ready to get out the door. (I always tip more than 20%, as a former server, but pro tip: a sudden post-dinner interrogation is NOT the way to get better tips ) read more

Awesome! Got takeout from here with a group at work. It was amazing! Been there now 2 times in person and the food is even better. They make the dumplings by hand and the various broths and sauce are delicious! The staff is super friendly also. The building (across from Aldi's) does t look like much on the outside, but is clean snd spacious on the inside. The only complaint I might have is that the booth seating/benches are pretty hard. A cushion of some sort would be nice. Though I'd sit on a hard seat to eat here, no problem. :) read more

Oh how my mouth sang the praises of a good soup bun!! I love potstickers so I ordered pork and scallion fried pot stickers... these were stuffed!! This place just recently opened around two weeks ago, so my dad and I really wanted to try it! Even though the place looks a little unappealing from the outside, the inside is clean and homey. The servers were straight to point, the food came out fast, and everything was fresh. All the food was really good, and this is definitely the best spot to get dumplings in the area. To start we got the Stir-Fried Green Beans, and they were spectacular! One of our friends ate these green beans, and it turned him into a green bean lover... We also ordered the Pan-Fried Thumb Bun Pork & Scallion which were pleasant little balls of deliciousness. The Pork Xiao Long Baos were also really good. They were much bigger soup dumplings than most places give you, and they were filled with flavorful broth. However, the start of the show was the Pan-Fried Pork Soup Bun! They were super crispy on the bottom and steaming hot with boiling soup. I can't stop thinking about them. The only thing I would say is that the Shrimp Fried Rice we ordered was lacking in flavor big time. Thankfully, there's soy sauce, black vinegar, and chili oil at the tables. Nevertheless, this place possibly has some of the best dumplings I've had in a long time, and I will definitely be back! read more

The food was delicious! When we went for dinner we were sat immediately but the place filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. The food came relatively quickly and I like that they gave us a small water pitcher on our table for easy refills. We tried 3 different dumplings and the garlic bok choy! All were delicious!! I came in alone, it was very busy, they tended to me pretty quick, great recommendations from their staff. The food had flavor, good presentation and surprisingly fast as busy as they were. I definitely will be back. Casual atmosphere and even allowed to stay alittle later to finish watching a football game :). read more

Service was good. But I was expecting a better food quality since they are supposed to specialize in dumplings. The taste of the dumplings was ok but has somewhat of an aftertaste. My wife got the broccoli beef. Something she has eaten a number of places. It was good. Same as other places. I had the orange chicken. It was about fair. Sure appears I had more batter than chicken. Very small chicken pieces with more batter than meat. The prices were higher than expected. Our first time at a Dumpling World. We would not go there again. read more

Just loved the lunch we had here. Favorites were green beans and boiled dumplings with pork and scallions. Cloud ear mushroom salad was also good. We've never had anything here that we haven't liked, but we definitely need to sample our way through everything else. The service here is attentive, warm, and gracious. The food was decent, but currently the service is not great. The host sat our party immediately, but our servers didn't bring us any utensils or checked back on us as the food started making its way to the table. We also ended up canceling one our of item, because we were done with our meal & it never arrived. Hopefully, next time we come back the service will be better. Second visit to the new place in Webster. We again had the great soup dumplings, pork and scallion. Just great, like last week. We got the chicken and corn pan fried dumplings. These were very good, but we think the pork ones would be better. Our daughter, the vegetarian, got wood ear mushroom salad and steamed bok choy dumplings. Both were very good, a well. So I tried this tonight. The building doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very nicely decorated and well kept inside. Prices are moderate and fair for the serving size. Menu selection is large and it is well laid out. The wait staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered the hot and spicy beef and onion dumplings along with the bunny custard. The beef and onion dumplings were served very hot and I scalded my tongue on the first one. Afterwards, I waited a bit and the remainder of the order was very good. It was spicier than sour, but if you like the spicy, this was great heat. For a sweet treat, the bunny custard was just the right end to a good meal. It was brought to the table in a steamer basket with little bunny faces on the dumplings. The dumpling was soft and the custard filling very tasty. I am going to give this place another visit and try another dish or two. I would recommend it to someone who is familiar with the Asian dumpling cuisine. read more

The server and employees pushing the carts were all friendly. I'd be honest though, when we were first seated I felt like there were a bunch of carts, meaning lots of selection. But after 10 minutes, it was hard to even find one person. So really, you don't got much to choose from. I think it'd have helped if there was a menu at the table, that way we can order more and see what else is there. The shrimp shao mai and crispy shrimp crab claw was top tier. Please do not leave without giving those two a try! You can skip the pan fried pork & chives dumplings. That was a letdown. I think food wise, I prefer Fung's Kitchen over Ocean Palace. One thing that really has always prevented me from coming here is the price. It is the most expensive in town and while there are plenty of options that aren't as good, well, there are options. And at this point, I'm sure that is the crowd they are going after. So if you are wanting to celebrate something or you are wanting to step up your dimsum game, come on over. Before coming here, I had gone to 3 different restaurants not realizing that they had either relocated, or were closed. I was not in a great mood coming in here. I left with a massive smile, full belly, and educated. To start, I've never had soup dumplings before, but i've seen them in many movies and on social media before, so when i passed this place I turned around on a whim and pulled in. Upon entering the staff was incredibly friendly and ushered me to my seat, I was given a brief rundown of the menu and brought water. I had many servers but the first one (teen) was very kind and showed me the drink menu which I had not seen, I ordered milk tea boba, soup dumplings, and braised beef stew. Boba: Compared to bobas i've had at other places around town, this one was different. It seemed fresher, more homemade, and less artificial. The tea was very very good, same thing, very fresh. Soup dumplings AMAZING: This was a first for me. I've never tried them. When the server brought them to me I had no clue how to eat them, and I was embarrassed to ask how to eat them. So I picked one up and threw it into my mouth while no one was looking. Burned the ***** out of my mouth. Immediately i asked a nearby server how to eat them. He kindly stopped everything he was doing and literally sat down at my table, made me a sauce using the various sauces at the table, and showed me how to eat them step by step in broken english. This is something i've never EVER experienced in a restaurant. Incredible. Sad that something so simple is so rare in our society, kindness. This spot has plenty to share. Braised beef stew: Not much to say on this other than the broth might have drugs in it because it was addicting. Meat was tender and well seasoned, melted in my mouth. Couldn't finish it all so i'll be taking it home. 12/10 to this spot. I hope this business remains prosperous for many years to come. I left a $20 tip on my $30 meal read more

Have tried numerous types of dumplings and all have been wonderful. Try the beef noodle soup and the green beans and cabbage served family style !
