Fried rice is not very fried, the general chicken has very little sauce and is not crunchy whatsoever. I ordered online instead of doing the buffet even though I loveee buffets. I ordered three spring roll orders (advertised as two for the price online) so I ordered three orders with the invention of having six spring rolls, but only received three. As well as my general Chicken was supposed to just be à la carte not a combo and unfortunately, I got a combo which meant broccoli and rice so less chicken, which was not what I was going for considering it was ordering family style. when I called to tell them they hung up on me three times in a row when I explained so I don't think they have any intention of ever helping when people get a wrong order. read more

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the last 25 years. A relative from abroad once joked that this must be a famous Houston landmark, as he was always taken there whenever he visited. He wasn't wrong - this is one of the best Chinese buffets in Houston, and has been as long as I've known it. All of the standard buffet fare is good, and while the restaurant might look a bit dated, the important thing is that it has always looked clean every time I've visited. As a bonus, the price is quite reasonable - lunch during the week is the least expensive time to visit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

NO wontons during Saturday lunch for ~45 minutes from when I arrived until when I left. The workers circled the wontons replacing other foods throughout. To top it off, I found a plate of piled up food remains on my table when I got back from a trip to the buffet. East Star in Clear Lake a few miles away has never been close to this bad in my experience. Also the general tso at King is not traditional as it is at other restaurants. Been hitting this spot for years, it's not notch but the best in my area. I noticed that if you do not watch your monthly statement or receipt, you will be cheated. I know they billed me once for 44 dollars for two people and we both are seniors nevertheless I kept supporting the business. Just recently, last week I went to get take out, and this time I felt totally disappointed, when the cashier weigh my food and told me it was 13.99 mind you when I ask why so high she because you got shrimp, which was less than I normally get and generally pay only nine dollars for take out, she is a slick one I told her to keep it especially when I could not see the prices on scale it was black out. Pissed me off that she took me for a fool, I am sure she knew the scale was not working or maybe it's a a game. Nevertheless I will not support this place again read more

King Buffet has decent quality of food, the service is great, and the staff are kind. Their location is almost difficult to find. They're packed in a shopping district. King Buffet is bigger on the inside, so it's ideal for family gatherings. The price for the buffet is decent and the lunch hour rush varies each day. King Buffet has all kinds of Asian favorites, plenty of sushi for my brother to enjoy, and lots of desserts. For picky eaters, they have pizza, fries, fried biscuits, soup, and homemade bread. I loved King's Asian cuisine, except there were some unpleasant dishes I must address. Their pork dim sum was OK, but not the best. It had too much meat, and it was under seasoned. I would not recommend their chow mein, it was rancid! The dessert selection was very disappointing. Their cakes were terrible, dry and tasted artificial. The only desserts that were homemade was the banana pudding, soft serve ice cream, peach cobbler, maybe the jelly and hopefully, their almond cookies. If they're going to serve us excellent cuisine, they need to do the same with dessert. Next time I bring my family to King Buffet, I will advice them on what not to eat. read more

Family friendly, courteous service but food is terrible. Not a lot of variety for a buffet. Crawfish was old and rubbery; their attempt at sushi was bland; French fries were also old, sitting out all day; noodles were salty. Their dessert spread looked like old pieces of pastry had just been dumped over newer pieces. Soft serve ice cream machine worked well, so ice cream was decent but cones were semi-stale. read more

The food here is about average. The steam trays were full and fresh (11:30 AM). The pepper beef was a bit tough. The fried rice was excellent. General Tso's chicken was not crisp and not quite hot (spicy) enough. The ice cream is good. Prices now are $10.49 for seniors instead of the $7.99 it was before for lunch. I was a bit disappointed in that the salmon sushi is only served on weekends and dinners. All in all, East Star on NASA Road 1 is better. read more

King Buffet is a buffet anomaly. Buffets are usually not something we like to go to, but I was told they had a pretty decent sushi selection for a buffet. Reluctantly my family agreed to try the place out. It is a decent sized restaurant with the buffet smack dab in the middle. They have one section dedicated to only sushi. The place was packed for a week night, which to me suggested they have to have decent food. They had a good variety of sushi and plenty of it. I never saw a tray go empty. I started with sushi, and for a buffet, it was pretty good. Next I tried the Chinese food, which the variety was the same as almost any Chinese buffet around. Nothing to write home about. Overall a pleasant experience. Nothing I would go out of my way to go eat, but definitely a good option if you want to indulge in a Chinese buffet. read more

Ok so I love Asian buffet's and need a quick meal the day before thanksgiving. My future father in law brought me here knowing that I loved seafood on the buffet. Man did he know what I wanted! First thing that caught my attention was the all you can eat oysters. Holy Smoley! Yes thats right all you can eat Gulf Oysters on a buffet! I ate a few dozen and they all tasted fresh and delicious. I made another stop at the peel and eat shrimp and continued to destroy some sea food.. again the shrimp tasted fresh and not over cooked. I couldnt have been happier with the food quality. Next up BBQ crabs.. I love BBQ crabs.. These were amazingly well seasoned and cooked perfectly.. I dont know how this restaurant is able to supply this much great seafood so cheap but its off the charts amazing! I paid around 10 bucks for what felt like a huge feast of fresh seafood. We tried this place for the first time today, after driving past in several occasions. It has a decent selection of sushi, seafood, Chinese food and desserts. I liked the variety, there is little bit for everybody, even my children who are very picky eaters found something they liked. Price is reasonable too. I think the one delta was the service, people there hardly speak any English so it was hard to communicate even the most basic commands. But overall, a good place to go for Chinese buffet. read more

I love the fact that they have a wide variety of sushi to choose from. That was a bonus for me on this buffet. This was definitely one of the best Chinese buffets I have been to and I think I have been to my fair share. There were 3 huge buffet setups. 1 one of them was full of seafood, sushi rolls, sushi-mi, oysters, shrimp and crab ... oh my! It was awesome. The dinner buffet was only $9.99 per person. I think we easily got our moneys worth. The other two lines were full of every Chinese dish you could possible dream of. I loved the sesame chicken and the fried crab wantons ... they were so crispy and fully of cream cheese and meat. The lo mien was delicious too. Now it was a buffet so the server did not have to do a lot, but he was great. My glass was never empty and he cleared our dirty dishes and plates quickly. Overall I was impressed by King Buffet and I am sure when I am back in the area we will be back since this was such a hit with the family. read more

If any Chinese buffet in the area deserves a good rating it's this one. I rated it 4 stars because I'm not sure any buffet rates 5. I would have given it 4 1/2 if that had been an option. I came here several years ago and it was good then. I haven't been back because it's a little far from home. My friend and I came here because our choice, Thai Stellar, was closed for repairs. He grimaced a little when I suggest this place, probably because of the distance and never having eaten here before. After he ate he was pleased with my choice. [NOTE: Later he suggested it himself.] It's standard buffet fare but the food is the tastiest of any buffet in the area. Servers were pleasant and parking is easy. I don't eat fish but my friend liked the sushi. This place was not bad at all. They were doing a Valentine's Day special all day dinner buffet and the food was pretty decent. We loved their fresh sushi bar with peel and eat shrimp, unlimited fresh shucked oysters and obviously a great variety of sushi and hand-rolls. Their warm food buffet was pretty good too. I enjoyed their sesame chicken and general tso's chicken. They also had boiled spicy craw-fish and pepper shrimp. Their stir-fried green beans were also crisp and not soggy. They had soft dinner rolls, pizza, and fried chicken for those craving some non-asian inspired fare. The fried fish pieces and fried calamari was crunchy and not greasy or oil-logged. No. There were probably 3 dishes out of 25ish that I could eat, and those dishes were nothing to write home about. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing was particularly good, either. The best part of this place is the hot and sour soup. Everything else is okay. I just didn't like building. It smells old and the vents could not get more moldy with black mold... oh and they don't have pork ribs. I was really craving pork ribs.
