    Dim sum

I usually get take out from here when I also need to go grocery shopping nearby. The food is still yummy by the time I get home. I enjoy the shrimp rolls and chicken feet. They had pretty good prices for dim sum and the workers are quick with the orders. There isn't much seating inside which is why I mainly order to go.

This place is in the food court in 99 ranch! We tried the steamed shrimp rice noodle ($6), shrimp shumai ($6), steamed creamy custard bun ($5), turnip cake ($5), and glutinous rice dumplings ($5). The steamed shrimp rice noodle was delicious! The rice noodle was perfectly chewy and bouncy in texture. The shrimp was flavorful. I loved the custard bun. Slightly sweet and the outer bun was so soft! I was surprised with the glutinous rice dumplings! It had a fried outer filling but was mochi. The meat filling was also really yummy! There are about 8 tables of 4! You order on a menu sheet and bring it to the front. I appreciate how the menu has English, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Service was fast and friendly! Items started coming out after 10 minutes. The tables are clean.

Small dim sum restaurant located beside Jusgo that serves yummy food. The thinness of the skin on the dim sums were perfect. Meat to skin wrapping was proportionate too. I highly recommend the custard egg yolk buns. Eat them while they are warm. The saltiness and liquidity filling was perfect. The noodle dishes were so-so. Nothing spectacular. There is limited seating for dine-in. You can eat first and pay later.

The store is super small, but the foods are really good. The foods came out pretty quick, super fresh, and really well seasoned. We ordered the steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed shrimp siu mai, steamed pork ribs, steamed sticky rice in lotus leaf, steamed mixed meat dumplings, bird nest fried shrimp ball, steamed dried shrimp rice noodle, and supreme soy sauce fried noodles. All of the dishes were super tasty. We loved everything except for the steamed mixed meat dumplings which had nuts and cilantro inside. My absolute favorites were the bird nest fried shrimp balls, steamed shrimp dumplings and the sticky rice in lotus leaf (probably the best I've had out of all the dim sum places I've tried so far). If it wasn't for the small store with extremely limited seating, we would come back more often.

Yelp, let me give this place 3.5 stars!!! I really like this place and I want to give it four and there's always chance for redemption, BUT given how much I paid and the location it's in, I should've at least been given more decent customer service Starting with the food, the pork siu mai and steamed chicken buns were AMAZING. Truly, delivering on high quality flavor, very juicy, and getting these two and layering it with chilli oil is such a fantastic idea bc you get a good blend of savory and sweet with a spicy coating (drooooool) Now let's get to the complaints, there's no free water here. They only do water bottles. Given the location and competition with restaurants in the mall, it's not a fast food shop or food truck and it's not boding well with them to not offer water. I wanted a table but they said no tables available but I saw them making accommodations to others asking for a table. Granted, I did ask for one after paying and they caught me a table while I was waiting for food, but when I asked the owner at first she only threw her hands up in resignation and said there were none available rather than trying to make it work, like she did with others.

Best place to get Dim Sum in Sugar Land! The store is located in the Jusgo Super market, the second stall on the left. I always order to go because of their limited seating. I believe there are about 5-6 tables so it is difficult to go with a larger party. Make sure to order in advanced on the phone as they do get very busy and are a popular new staple for the people in the community. My go to is always the Har gao and the pork siu mai. The skin on the har gao is always perfect, Ive noticed that some places tend to either over steam or under steam the dumpling making the skin dry out but Joy is great about getting the steam just right. The Siu mai is super juicy and flavorful. The other items I got (pictured) are also great options!

Whether it was weekend dim sum or an evening Canto feast with fresh seafood, I was simply thankful for the option. Now that option is toast since Regal closed last month. Looks can be deceiving. The exterior makes me think of a fitness joint more so than a Cantonese spot. Stepping inside is a complete contrast, with a mix of specialty murals, modern decor with a contemporary edge. There were plenty of large group tables, which made this place perfectly ideal for a feast gathering. Bathrooms were also clean, but this is the only place I've seen that had ice cubes all the urinals. (#1) Dim Sum was solid. The highlights for me were their stir fried XO rice rolls, which had a nice char and some good flavor. The Malay style rolls were also suprrisingly good and I felt strongly about their bbq pork puffs, durian rolls, and glutinous pork dumplings shaped to look like pears. The shrimp dumplings, beef balls, and spare ribs were average at best, I was also very impressed with their overall variety and the fact they had an extremely defined picture menu. The Canto speaking staff was friendly and the parking was plentiful. While the food wasn't all a hit, I do think there was some potential, which was not realized in the end. I am sincerely hoping another Canto spot will emerge in the Land of Sugar. __________ (#1) Yes, really.

Price - for dim sum, we've paid roughly $26/person, but that included tax and tips. So that amount is arbitrary. It depends on how many dishes you may order, and keep in mind that we had a lot of left over food though. We also had a whole duck in this price, so not your typical dim sum order. I imagine it would be less if we would just stick to dim sum only. 3. Ambiance - this place is industrial looking. Modern and pretty hip. It's not massive. Not sure if it's the same owner as the previous Regal on 59. But it's a smaller footprint than the previous location. Dress code here is casual. 4. Food - I will say that the dim sum here is legit Hong Kong style dim sum. This is delicious and not greasy. I really like their CHA-SIU-BAO (BBQ Pork Buns), HA-GAO (shrimp dumplings), SIU-MEI (Pork and Shrimp dumplings), and Egg Tarts. Because it was our first time there, we wanted to try out their roast duck. It is also very authentically made. There are definitely other dishes that were good too, but these were the few worth mentioning. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area appears clean. SUMMARY - I recommend this place and will likely return for more dim sum in the future.

Since I was in the neighborhood during my dinner time in Sugarland, I decided to swing by before the restaurant closes for the night. I wanted to try Hawaiian Chicken that I saw the menu online. I was thinking about featuring it at my party. I was quite disappointed with the flavors. It's just like a sweet and sour chicken with chili sauce and tossed in pineapple chunks. But when I tried Manchuria Fried Rice... OMG, it was very flavorful and with a kick of spiciness. The savory ingredients were ginger, garlic, onion, cilantro and soy sauce. I almost finished a whole plate. I normally don't order fried rice at Chinese restaurants but this is a must try. The service was excellent. The plate had the garlic chicken on it along with fried rice and an egg roll to boot. Even on weekdays, this place is consistently busy. The staff are always very friendly, the food tastes fresh and made to order, and I have never had an unpleasant dining experience here. Whenever I come here, I usually order the Cheese Crab Puffs. While this is a fairly standard appetizer at many restaurants, I genuinely think Dumpling World does them better than most places I have tried. The wrapper is lighter and airier while still staying crispy, and the filling leans slightly sweet, which I personally really enjoy. Of course, I also have to order the Pork Xiao Long Bao. The wrappers are impressively thin, and each dumpling is packed with soup. Another must order is the Pan Fried Pork and Scallion Thumb Buns. They are addictively crispy on the outside and filled with juicy, flavorful pork. On this visit, I also tried the Eggplant and Minced Pork Noodles for the first time, and I would definitely order them again. The pork and eggplant were very flavorful, and the hand pulled noodles were thin and satisfying, though slightly overcooked. The sauce was also a bit oily, but that is fairly common with dishes like this, so it did not bother me much. It is just something to keep in mind. Overall, Dumpling World continues to be one of my favorite casual Chinese spots. Between the consistently fresh food, friendly service, and standout dumplings, this is a place I would gladly keep coming back to.
