This by far was the worst restaurant I've been too in the area. Where do I even start? Something was wrong in the kitchen and you could only order pancakes, buns, dumplings or noodle soup. We ordered buns, pancakes and dumplings. It took over 20 minutes to get out food and they weren't busy, 3 other couples in the whole restaurant. The food was mediocre at best, very bland. Then we were attempting to pay with a restaurant.com gift card and were told they no longer accept those, nevermind they are still being sold on the site. Never again! I will not be back! Four star food, one star service. I can understand having to wait a long time for good food but that is far from the only issue with their service. I have gone twice, and my second service experience was even more challenging than the first. My family really loves the food, so it is kind of a shame. Dumplings are awesome (had the pork & shrimp); other menu items tried were good. You won't be disappointed with the food. The service, however, much to be learned. First, even though the menu shows beer & wine, for some reason (on a Saturday) - they now "don't serve alcohol". Second, the 3rd dish we ordered came out before the appetizer (kind of defeats the purpose of an appetizer, eh?). Third, after 4th dish was delivered I had to remind our server about the coke I ordered initially when she told me "no alcohol". Lastly, rice is a separate charge and the bowls are tiny. Not a huge deal, but when having Asian food - for me at least - rice is expected. I'll be back for the dumplings, but would not return for anything else. read more

This place is AMAZING! The only downside is they don't have beer or wine, but the Yelp page says they do. I really wanted a nice frosty beer with my dumplings, but oh well. It was still delicious! I'm vegan, so it's hard to eat out at restaurants. Luckily this place didn't disappoint! I had the cabbage dumplings and some kind of noodle hot and sour soup. They both were excellent. And the portions were big! My hubby had the scallion pancakes and some kind of dumplings with pork. I tried the pancakes (probably not vegan, whoops) and they were sooooo good! I enjoyed the food so much one time before the pandemic, I went back this week again. I had the green onion pancake, shrimp and pork dumplings, eggplant with peppers, fish in wine sauce, and potstickers. As an appetizer, the pancake was wonderful to bite into with its subtle flavors, many layers, and crispy outside. The dumplings were sublime with just the right balance of flavors from their ingredients. What a treat in this time of factory-made everything to see and taste the obviously hand crafted wrappers cooked to give just the right degree of tiny resistance against your teeth. The potstickers were irresistibly perfect with plump, delicious, and juicy filling and crispy wrappers. At the staff's suggestion, I tried the fish in wine sauce which was a very delicately-seasoned fillet in a velvety wine sauce. I came back especially to taste again the eggplant with peppers, but was disappointed that it was not the same exquisite dish in appearance or taste. Instead of the purple Japanese eggplant in a vibrant mix of green and red peppers glistening in a sweet and savory sauce that I had last time, I was served the more common ordinary eggplant with its thick brown skin, and the peppers tasted parboiled, instead of stir-fried. Also, the sauce appeared to separate from and pool around the eggplant and peppers. Maybe next time this dish will be as I remembered it the first time. read more

This place is fantastic! I send all of my chef friends here. We were able to order via Uber Eats for a short time, and we are so sad we cannot get them delivered anymore. We were ordering almost twice a week! Everything here is fresh, hot even after delivery, and so flavorful. We love the dumplings! The fried rice is top notch, as is everything else we tried. This place has amazing food! Probably the best Chinese food we have had. Everything was homemade, fresh and delicious. Our party ordered the pork buns, beef and onion dumplings, pork and cabbage dumplings, cm09 chicken noodles, kung pao chicken, and hot and sour soup. We all loved everything on the table (we shared it all and could only eat half of it). Great amount of food for the money, so we will have some tasty lunch for tomorrow. read more

The reasons I gave this place 2 stars because we have to wait an hour for the dumplings. My cousin's friend raved about this place and she wants to try it out so she invited me to come along. We're a group of 5 adults & 2 kids, and we're the very first customers were there (when they just open @11am) We ordered fish & pork dumplings, orange chicken, vege lomein, hot & sour soup, Kung pao calamari, and some other appetizers. The soup is kind of too sour, lomein is not bad, a little salty though, orange chicken is good. After 20-25 minutes later they brought out everything except the dumplings, we asked & the waitress said give them a few more minutes, then we waited 15 more min., still nothing, then we asked again, the waitress said it takes time to make, we should call to order before we arrived, wth! Why didn't she told us that from the first time we asked. So I thought "wow the dumplings must be really good & fancy" but NO, the skins are dry, the fillings is just , not comparing to other places I had before. I understand it's handmade but come on now, it doesn't take that long. So after been waiting for an hour the dumplings finally come out, without apologizing and the waitress acted like nothing wrong. My cousin got mad & complained to the waitress, that was when she realized she needed to apologized. the food was ok, but it wasn't anything to write home about. the thing that brings this review down to 3 stars is the service. most of the employees were fine except this older lady who was in her early 50s at least. one of the first things i noticed was that all the other tables around us got glass cups and we got plastic. i didnt really care but i thought it was kind of strange. then they gave us the wrong dish. i understand, it's a busy night. we politely told her that we didn't order that. she started having and attitude and insisted that we MUST have ordered it. the final thing that ticked me off was when we asked for refills on our waters. the lady didn't even LOOK at us and just waved her hand and said "later later." the fact that she didn't even acknowledge us and just dismissed our request for WATER shows how she probably treats most customers. we will not be coming back. read more

I was skeptical to try Dumpling House based on the mixed reviews...but I'm glad I did! My daughter was looking for a restaurant that served dim sum style dishes for dinner, and after reviewing the menu we gave this place a shot. The restaurant is small, so we got there early and beat the Saturday dinner rush. We were seated immediately by a very pleasant server. We tried steamed pork buns, fried pork dumplings, green onion pancake (a little greasy but delicious!) and sesame chicken. Food was authentic and the menu is huge. As the restaurant filled each dish took longer to arrive, but as everything is cooked to order I expected the wait. Our server was attentive and the food was delicious! I would recommend getting in for dinner before 6 as by the time we left, the wait was out the door. We will definitely go back! read more

An 8-person group went for a Sunday lunch. One in our party was from China. She recommended this restaurant and ordered for us. Everyone praised the food and nothing was left. We were all satisfied and happy after the meal. Later, I was only able to eat a very light dinner because I ate so well for lunch. This is our second trip the Dumpling House and we are looking forward to many more trips. The food is very authentic and very well prepared. Service was also very accommodating. We heard about this place from one of the cab drivers that we used while visiting Dallas. He recommended this place and said that it had some of the best dumplings in Dallas. We ordered the scallion pancakes, the pan-fried dumplings, and the beef and scallion buns. To put it simply, the meal was delicious. The pancakes were carefully made and it was clear that a lot of time had been invested in even a simple appetizer with plenty of scallions, crunch and flaky layers. The fish dumplings were also delicious and had a juicy interior with excellent flavor. The buns were also delicious as well. There is a small wait because they make the dumplings, buns, etc. by hand but it is worth it. Place is a hole in a wall tucked away in a shopping center in the suburb but is well worth the trip. I did not get the dumplings when I went, just the regular entrees. One member of my party ordered dumplings and did not hear any complaints about it. Problem I have with this place is the price for the mediocre portions and "ok" borderline poor quailty. I ordered Orange Beef and when it came out it was Orange Chicken. They replaced it after about 10 minutes or so and you would expect more for $15 (not including tip). You get a portion that is for one person. The breading was soggy. One member of my party ordered the doulbe-cooked pork and he complained about literally maybe being 1oz or 2oz of actual meat that was swimming in the sea of bamboo shoots. Honestly, save yourself the 7-8 bucks and go to First Chinese instead. read more

Awesome place! Start with hot and sour soup. It is hands down the best in town. It is on the spicy side but oh so good kind of spicy. Pair it with onion pancakes or order of steamed buns and you can have a great hearty meal for lunch. Something not seen often are the fish dumplings. You can get it steamed or potsticker. I like potsticker because it gives a little crunchy texture to go with the juicy tender fillings. It takes a lot of time and effort to do fish dumplings because if not careful the filling will either be very fishy and/or falls apart. This place does it right. The dough for steamed goubuli buns is a secret. I asked :-). But it is soft and pretty much melt in your mouth. If you walk to the back you can see the ladies making the buns by hand and put them into steamers. That's how fresh they are. Staff is very friendly and service is good. This is now one of my regular spots for lunch and dinner with family. read more
