    Short Ribs Ragu'

Tried out Due' Cucina in West Seattle. The setup is cafeteria style. You place your order on tablets, grab your food from the counter when it's ready, and bus your own table after you're done. I ordered the Pork Short Rib Ragu. It was different from what I'm used to, but not bad at all. Good flavor and decent portion. The pasta itself was pretty good, fresh and well-cooked. Prices felt a little on the high side for a self-service spot, but overall it's a solid option if you're craving pasta in a more casual environment.

My husband and I wanted to grab lunch and I have always wanted to try this pasta place. We ordered three different pastas the ragu pasta, pesto, and the mushroom truffle. Food was good the pasta is a little al dente which is what I like and it has a chewier texture to it. My favorite was the ragu pasta ans the pesto but I just wish they added more tomato's too it, but over all everything was good. The ambiance there is cute and the location is nice they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was good. We were there when it wasn't there rush hour time. Over all we had a great experience there.

Fresh Pasta ohhh yaaaaaa! When in West Seattle Junction and need a tasty meal I love grabbing a plate of Cacio & Pepe here . What really makes this dish stand out is the combination of the 16-month aged Pecorino Romano & 24-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano used that makes all the difference in this flavor. Also adding some sausage to the mix for some extra flavor is a must for me... Due' Cucina's fresh homemade bucatini is some of the best in the northwest. With over 5 different choices of pasta you can design your own meal and also take home fresh pasta for your own sauce. Ordering is kinda self serve since you walk up to a iPad and place the desired meal. But then humans actually cook your creation and another person calls out when order is ready. Plenty of seating in dining area with booths and large tables for with a party larger than 4 people. Keep in mind you need to bus your own tables so don't be offended. After all it's quality food for a discounted price point. Honesty this review makes me hungry so I'm coming tonight for a plate of pasta...

This is a self-serve pasta spot, and honestly, it's such a cool and pleasant place to grab a meal. When I first walked in, I hesitated a bit because you have to order on an iPad before sitting down--it almost gives you a "fast food" vibe. But don't be fooled: the décor and overall atmosphere are far from McDonald's. There's no table service--you pick up your food from the window and bus your own table--but sometimes that's exactly what you want. It's perfect for a quick, satisfying meal or even some much-needed alone time during a lunch break. The food itself is impressive. The pasta is clearly homemade, cooked to the perfect texture--not too chewy, not too soft. I ordered the short rib ragù, and it had a fantastic balance of richness and creaminess. I added sourdough bread on the side and tried the pork cheek bite, both of which elevated the meal even more. Pairing the pasta with a glass of prosecco made the experience feel just right. I'd recommend this place to anyone who's short on time but still craves authentic, high-quality Italian pasta. It's also a great option if you want a casual meal without the formality of full service.

The food is average Italian. I think I would have liked it better if my serving was hotter. It was like warm. It's all Self Serve you order on a pad then you pick up the food when it is done and take it to your table. You buss your own tables and pretty much everything is completed by you instead of the cooking. I don't hone if I would comeback here maybe one day to try it again when it's a busier time don't night waste better. Aldenti is aldenti here. We like it aldenti but not what we got it was hard not just firm.

Talk about different concept for Italian restaurant. Nothing that I ever experienced. The menu almost build ur own dish start pick pasta, sauce, add more stuff to ur dish. They do have set menu dishes that can select. Also diverse menu more than just pastas plus desserts. The menu big walk in goes through the process. U walk up kiosk system place ur order. Someone there the chef helps if confused or backed up talk order. Once place order pay and pick table sit down wait for ur name call. Almost fast food style in sense but food so legit appreciate quick easy and pleasant experience. It so reasonable price love it. Day age find quality fresh pasta, nice portion, hearty, and under $20. Due' Cucina is steal of deal. I got the short ribs with bucatini noodles. Short rib perfect most, juicy, and deep flavor. Winnah. Mention earlier nice size. Friends enjoy the tiramisu so got try bite. Delicious. The customer service five stars. Chef super helpful, present, and everyone interaction with great. They have another location in Capital Hills area.

Lovely Italian restaurant that satisfies your pasta craving with an affordable price tag. Also, it's fresh. The quality here is something can't beat. It's an order at the register and self seating. Service was quick. Restaurant was spacious and clean. It wasn't so busy when we came and really enjoyed the space. I ordered the smoked salmon with buccatini; oh goodness, those noodles were so good! New fav noodles, the salmon was so smokey. Wished I asked for extra lol. It's quite a drive for me, but worth it.

Due' Cucina gives quality pasta, with an Italian family- MOD Pizza type of vibe. Not necessarily custom pasta, but they do have six noodles to choose from, not including lasagna and ravioli. 11 sauces/pre set pasta combinations, and a hand full of add ons but I still feel like with those options to some people with dietary restrictions it's a bit limiting. But I did like the quality and taste both visits! I give the pasta noodles 4 stars and the sauces 3/3.5 stars. You order at the touch screen computer up front, or at the cashier on the side. You find a seat get utensil's- napkin's, they'll call your name to pick up to take to your seat or to go! You also are appreciated if you clean your table, by putting away your dishes in the dish pit and garbage-recycle-compost bins. I tried the smoked salmon with casarecce and the sauce was more flavorful than I thought it would be, a little salty but not overwhelming. The fresh noodles and spinach tamed the salted salmon cream flavor. Loved the delicate chew with the noodles. The second time I tried the Mushroom Truffle & White Oil, with the oil on the side suggested by the friendly cashier. I originally wanted Cacio E Pepe with mushrooms but it wasn't an option. It wasn't bad I kind of liked it more with the oil, it gave more of a punch of flavor. The mushrooms were not my vibe. After a while I just couldn't eat them. They didn't give a as freshly made vibe as the noodles did. They also have some wine's and beers, I liked the cider they had. I would like to try the Cacio E Pepe next time with a thinner style noodle, and maybe a salad! A good place to go for local, convenient but quality pasta.

Resturant has plenty of seating, self service kiosk when you first enter makes it easy to order and there are directions and explanations. Service is friendly, they do ask if you need help with ordering but that's about it. I did hear a server ask another table if they enjoyed their food- just not us. The table they asked came in after we did and got their food after us. I ordered the short rib ragu and arancini ball. The arancini ball was probably the best thing I hate out of all dishes, it was hot and had more flavorful than anything else. The ragu was fine, there was plenty of short rib but it lacked basic seasoning. My partner got the house salad and the agio sauce- also bland and needed seasoning. For the concept, price and fresh pasta, it's worth it but keep in mind you need to literally salt and pepper (and red chili packet) your entrees to bring out any sort of flavor.

Due Cucina was an okay experience. The style of restaurant is feels like it's a cafeteria: you order and pay on an ordering terminal, you pick up your food from the bar, and you bus your table and dishes at the end. The bell pepper bruschetta was pretty good and I think the sourdough had a nice 'sour' touch to the dish. The pastas were undercooked and a bit too hard for our taste. The carbonara was a bit to egg yolky with not enough cheese or pasta water to make the sauce really saucy.

    Gabriele E.

Good first experience overall. I was in between 4 and 5 stars really. I got the braised beef short rib gluten free pasta. It was delicious! The beef had great flavor and it was the 2nd best gluten free pasta I've had. My only complaint is that I paid 1.50 for extra cheese and the size of it is puny. I mean. Who puts that little cheese on their pasta! Not me. Bring on the cheese. I just feel the pricing is off for that little amount. Obviously I had it to go, so the pasta doesn't look very aesthetic, but the flavor was great!

    Take out amartriciana! Delicious!!

Had the amatriciana there. Such a bargain. Make me wish I lived in Seattle so I could go more often. Very good food for a good price!

My husband's pasta was fantastic, which was surprising to me as I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms but it was brilliant! We enjoyed tiramisu for dessert and that was the perfect ending to the meal. The decor inside the building is beautiful and elevated for an intimate, cozy feel. Definitely will be back!

Over the years, I've had some excellent meals there, like the one I had last night. From the moment you come through their door, when you're greeted by a pleasant host, until you leave with a full tummy, I think you'll love this place. The menu leans Italian, with some outstanding pasta dishes, and mighty fine they are. Last night I had tagliolini al limoni, which I think was the best pasta I have ever eaten. The room is nice too, simply and tastefully decorated, in an early Seattle historical structure. There is a deck on the back of the dining room, which seems to be used all year long. I do recommend you sit in the dining room instead, as it is kind of loud and cool on the deck, even though it is equipped with heat lamps. Service is first rate, just what you'd expect from a high end place like Il Nido. The staff seems to be well trained and professional--maybe I'd call them perfect, something we rarely find in this town. They have a small parking lot next to the restaurant, but unless you're eating early, you'll be lucky to find a place there. Parking on the street seems pretty easy, however. Take a drive to a nice part of Seattle, West Seattle, and enjoy a special night at Il Nido. I think you'll be delighted.

To start I got the "Mediterranean G&T" - gin & tonic and what came out was a gin & tonic about as fancy the restaurant - a stem glass with a huge piney herb hanging out of it. The drink hit. My date got the "Pretty in Pink" which is small, but not in the alcohol percent dept. she said it was good. We shared some small plates - she raved about the Saffron chicken, and I recommended the roasted cauliflower. The Saffron chicken are short cuts accompanied by saffron sauce and some pitas to eat if off of. These sauce for sure is really good, I even put some on the cauliflower. My only complaint is some of the bites of I found to be too salty.
