Whether it's fish tacos or crab cakes in the summer, the delicious crab bisque and grill bread on a rainy winter day, or a lunchtime fish sando and fries, it always feels like a good time. It's also our go to post hike or kayaking comfort food. You can tell how much care the owner has for the business. He always greets guests with a big smile and makes sure you're taken care of. They're really phoning this all in... - frozen fries - tub of tartar sauce (not house made) - thin, heavily breaded crab cakes that don't taste much if crab - $35 piece of halibut that was about the size of my two small fingers The server was friendly and the establishment was clean enough, but this place is not worth the money. If I'm paying restaurant prices I want them to actually cook the food, not open tubs of sauce and used frozen food in the fryer. Best Clam Chowda in Seattle... When I'm in the need for a hot bowl of chowder I'm compelled to visit Seattle Fish Co in West Seattle. This market also doubles as a restaurant serving superior quality seafood. Upon entering I'm always greeted by super friendly fish monger who'll take my order. However he always asks what kinda Chowda I'm desiring. I'm like come on man is there any other type of Chowda other than New England clam chowder. Super thick & creamy in a hearty bowl with an abundance of chunks of clams & potato's. As Jerry Seinfeld say's to Kenny Bania " THE SOUP IS THE MEAL " and believe me after devouring a bowl you'll be ready for a nap.. Came here the other day for dinner for happy hour and it was empty. I ordered 4 oyster shooters and steamed clams. The oyster shooter came shucked with cocktail sauce on the bottom. Each one seemed like they weren't cleaned bc each one tasted like they had sand in them which was off putting. The clams however were tasty and cleaned. Found this place near by our AirBnB and we enjoyed for dinner. We togo their soups and fish and chips for dinner. It was perfect choice for the cold weather. Fish and chips were crispy and not too greasy. Loved their cioppino, it helped to balance with fried dishes and creamy soup. I first want to start with this rating by advising everyone here that I have been a huge fan of Seattle Fish Company for years. I often order take out and I do have my food delivered via Uber Eats occasionally. Tonight I ordered the captains platter. It's my favorite thing to order from here. However, the order tonight was extremely bare. Lacked fries, had one fillet of fish, two oysters and a couple calamari rings. It appears they just threw this together. This has not been the case in the past. It's very unfortunate, and my first negative experience with this place. I hope they aren't falling on hard times. But I'll be reconsidering and recommending other establishments before them in the future read more

We come here EVERY TIME we are in Seattle. Our friend from the area recommended this place and every time it's as good as the last. We are creatures of habit and get the taco special. The fish is delish but shrimp has been our favorite. Expect to use plenty of paper towels, it's messy but oh so good! You get such a good value vs what you get. The clam chowder rocks. It actually tastes like it has clams vs most places I feel like I just get potato soup. Lastly, the service. Everyone has always been nice and the food comes out fast. This is a review of Seattle Fish Company's prepared foods. The business offers a wide variety of fresh catch, as well. This review is not on that. My parents and I order take-out from Seattle Fish Company on a regular basis. We usually call the order in, and no matter the size, they always have it ready to go when we come in to pick it up. I usually get the 2-piece Fish n' Chips, which is made with Cod. I've tried the Halibut and Salmon Fish n' Chips but prefer the standard Cod. My dad, however, prefers the Halibut. Both my parents love the clam chowder and always order it. (I'd get it too, but due to some seafood allergies, I'm not able to eat it.) My mom also always gets their onion rings, which she enjoys. We *always* order their slaw. I'm not a slaw fan, but theirs is fantastic. Freshly made, not too saucy. Some of the best slaw I've had. Just outside of where the Farmers Market sits we happened across what might be a West Seattle institution. Part fish market and casual restaurant, this was a perfect snack during a cold afternoon. While pricing is reasonable, and food is fine, I am writing to warn patrons that customer service here is HORRIBLE. Even though I am a longtime customer, Jon, the owner, arranged to put my order LAST in que after a VERY LARGE PARTY walked in AFTER me, and placed their order AFTER me.. Even though I should have been served first, since I arrived before them, they were given priority and I was ignored and served last. Worse than that is that I was never told my food would be late or that the order had been shifted around to give the large party higher priority. When I found out, I requested a cup of LEFTOVER clam chowder (it was the end of the night just before closing), but Jon didn't even have the decency to approve my meager request. Everything on the menu was tempting, and I settled on small portions of a handful of items to get the real scoop. The staff was friendly and the food came out as soon as I sat down after grabbing a cup of water! The food was so fresh that you could still taste notes of sea salt. We got a 2 piece cod and salmon fish and chips and for about 16/basket you get 2 decently sized pieces of fish. It had panko breading and was not overly heavy and was overall tasty. I also ordered a cup of smoked salmon chowder and it was just okay - a bit too fishy tasting and I personally wasnt fond of the tomato base for the soup. During my recent visit, I enjoyed some incredible clams and mussels, as well as two dozen big, flavorful Pacific oysters. The oysters were fresh and perfect for shucking, and I got a quick tutorial from Ian--always a friendly face and a wealth of knowledge--on how to properly shuck without risking a finger! We came here for an early dinner and there were a few parties in there. They have a great Happy Hour and we happened to be there early enough to partake. I took advantage by getting the salmon fish and chips, which I would have gotten anyway as it is rare to see salmon as the fish in fish and chips. We ordered and got a number to put at our table. There's also a small seafood market inside where you can pick up crab cakes and various seafood. Some of my favorites are the fried cod, fried scallops, and grilled salmon sandwich. There are a few items that could be improved: fried halibut is dry, the clam chowder doesn't taste like a typical traditional one and tastes like it has a lot of sour cream and/or mayo in it, the steamed clams are fresh but the sauce is not light and tastes like it has sour cream and/or mayo in it. Seattle Fish Company rocks! We've been here a few times and have always enjoyed our experience. They have a fish market where you can buy fresh seafood, but there is also a restaurant. The restaurant is open for indoor dining at 50% capacity right now. They have plenty of indoor tables and a few outside on the sidewalk. You order your food at the front counter and then take a number to your table. The person helping us was very nice and helpful. I had looked at the menu online beforehand, and was planning to order 2 fish tacos for $9, but I was delighted to see a special on their chalkboard for 3 fish tacos for $12! I also ordered a side mixed green salad. The tacos were delicious. The portions are pretty big (so I had leftovers) and I'm glad that the fish is grilled instead of fried. The salad was also pretty good! It came with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. Service is decently friendly. Atmosphere is on the dimmer side. The fish and oysters are definitely fresh, but their shucking skills seem to be lacking. About half of the dozen oysters I ordered had pieces of the shell in them which ruins the experience. Indicaors for what is dine in what isn't are not clear. The layout is not newcomer friendly as instructions aren't clear/easily seen. I've noticed a few groups of customers come in and were just looking around, not sure if there will be a server that'll come seat them or walk forward towards the fish display case. read more
