I go to this store four times a week as it's within walking distance and truly has the best prices in the Junction. Not to mention, the service is fantastic. There is a gentleman there by the name of 'Joe', who has helped me twice while I was utilizing always the self check out. He is such a kind and friendly man, always going the extra mile. I feel the same way about a good portion of the staff even the guys in the cheese department are super helpful, making suggestions and have a good knowledge base. Went to QFC to shop, but was withness unprecedented and unprofessional behavior from QFC staff members. I was waiting in line when I had seen this African American guy trying to purchase alcohol from the front case, but he said no one was assisting him or that they kept passing him from staff to staff. Their supervisor Maryland, who was in another lane, came over and just started yelling at him. As he was trying to tell her that he did not know the correct procedures, she immediately walked away. Then he asked if he was his race why she treated him less than a person. After Maryland yelled at him she went back to her lane, then helped out a white person who wanted to buy alcohol. I was thinking that was crazy and maybe she does not like black people because you could feel the hate in her voice as she yelled at him for no reason. I had seen him speak to the store manager and the store manager did not listen to to guy as he was telling him about his store experience. As the guy left they made run of him. My family and are a black as well and we will not be coming back to this store. Especially, how they treated him, it was so horrifying. read more

I've never been heckled at a grocery store... until now. In general I like QFC, but this one leaves little to be desired. Granted we showed up at 11:30, and as soon as we walked in, an employee turned to issue proclamation that the store closed in a half hour as if we were imposing. I hate when businesses have a closing time and then make it known they are inconvenienced when customers come in during the last hour. Either you're open or you aren't. We proceeded to pick up maybe ten items and were at the checkout by close. We were then being hounded at the check out by a man who was either an employee or contracted by the store for some service to hurry up if we wanted to get the elevator to the garage. He literally kept saying it the whole time we checked out until we got on the elevator. Have no desire to turn to that location again. read more

My regular vet doesn't carry the eye drops I need for my dog and had no idea you could fill animal prescriptions at a human pharmacy. QFC wanted to charge me $70 for a 5ml bottle of the eye drops. They had free ice cold water bottles, cookies, donuts, and then water guns you fill with ice water and shoot unsuspecting passerbys. Yes, this is the same QFC that will post a yellow sticker below a box of Wheat Thins and claim that $4.25 is the New! Low! PRICE!! (plus other prices which induce similar eye rolls).. but what you might not know about QFC? They have the BEST cookies around. Sometimes I need to decide whether to go to QFC or Safeway, and if I'm in the mood for a great cookie, it's off to QFC I go. My faves: -Apple Cinnamon ($5.49, or $2.99 on sale) -Lemon Crisp ('') -Cranberry Orange ('') -Snickerdoodles (usually 2/$7) Yum yum. Soft, moist, delicious. QFC has the cookie recipe down. (I also enjoy the deli's Tortellini w/ Broccoli, but wish the broccoli pieces weren't so damn big. It's like "hey would you like a little tortellini with your huge green vegetables?") read more

Why is it that EVERY TIME I have to come to this store for produce they are out of something that I really need??? Seriously, every time I go! I've wasted so much of my time in this store to find myself having to go somewhere else BUT tonight was out of control!! All Bananas were extremely low! The mushroom shelf was practically empty and what was there looked like it needed to go into compost. PLUS NO paper bags in site to buy the loose shrooms. And no one around to help. The bulk peanuts to make peanut butter was empty- shocker! I've only seen it full when I don't need peanut butter. I heard a customer make comments to their child that they were out of broccoli- like who ever is out of broccoli? Well the WEST SEATTLE QFC apparently is along with a million other things!! Also- Where the eff are the friggin Q-tips in this store??? The body/heath care section is lousy! Worst setup ever imagined and they hardly have anything! Sooooo small and crammed. What a joke. I spent 15 minutes in that itty bitty department and nothing. I really miss the Wallingford store. They have a huge selection of health foods and products upstairs seperate and easy to find. And the produce was always stocked and lookin' fresh. Tonight seemed busier than normal and the lines to check out were almost all the way to the back of the store hanging with the meat! Kudos to the cashiers though for tryin to get us out the door. This store is just too dang small- so I guess I'll just shop safeway and get my produce and q-tips there. This has generally been my go-to QFC location. I was there a few days ago and noticed several QFC employees not wearing face masks. These are employees who in close contact with hundreds of people each day. We are in a national public health crisis. Coronavirus infection rates are continuing to rise. QFC needs to require employees wearing face masks. Until QFC shows they take their customers' health seriously I will not be shopping here. read more

This QFC is large and clean. I was impressed with the wide aisles, quality meat and seafood including live lobster, and how there was a good variety of brands. The prices are the same as the other chains in the area - still too much but average for West Seattle. I'll keep driving to Winco in Kent & Using Costco for my major grocery shopping. There's a large liquor section at the front of the store under lock & key. There's a pharmacy here, but I didn't go by it. What I wasn't impressed with was the fact that on a busy night, only two checkout lanes were open and moving slowly at that. I ended up using one of the 4 self-checkout machines. The machine didn't give me the opportunity to enter my QFC card before paying, so I gave up trying to figure it out as I had already spent 20 minutes waiting to checkout. The employee watching the self-checkout lanes came over to help when I didn't ask for it and she made the long wait longer due to her interferring. I said I was fine, but she didn't listen so I had to tell her I was fine 3 more times before she left me alone. I also found the black feathers in her hair, leather and eye patch a bit much for a grocery store uniform. The parking garage is free but poorly designed with a small entance, dark interior on a sunny day, and awkward, small parking spaces. read more

This neighborhood grocery is such a hit and miss. On some days, the staff there is helpful, other days they don't seem to care. As a local chain they were consistently great, but after being bought out by Kroger, they've downgraded closer to Safeway level. Service is spotty varying by departments and keeping sale items stocked seems to be an issue. Also, why have self-checkout stands if you are just going to close off an entire section of them most of the day, everyday? Parking garage is terribly tight too. With so many grocery options around, this QFC needs to step up their game. read more

CASE OF THE MISSING CUSTOMER SERVICE Happened to be in West Seattle for an event and swung by here to grab some sushi. Normally QFC sushi is okay - it's convenient and inexpensive. Not the best but not horrible. This time, however, the avocado tasted off, and it was rock hard. We didn't figure this out until we got back home. Because we live a bit further out, we didn't return it within the 30-day return window. However, I've been in situations like this where the manager of a store will usually resolve the situation once I've explained the circumstances. But not here - it was "you need to return it within the 30-day window. Period." How about you make a good product so that we we wouldn't need to return something that has no business being bad in the first place? I never would've expected in a million years to have bad sushi here and have to try and come back within 30 days to return it. So was the manager within her right to deny me a refund? Sure. But given that it was their screw up that kicked off this situation, she really should've handled it a bit better. read more

Ok, so let me start by saying I'm not the world's best or most patient shopper. I want to get what I *need* to get, pay, and get out the door as quickly and as painlessly as possible. QFC meets the first requirement. I can generally find whatever it is I need, as long as it's not out of the normal, and pretty quickly. It's the second part where things fail. Every time I'm there their checkout lines are woefully understaffed in favor of the self-checkout machines. Now there are a lot of places where kiosks work. If I'm just trying to check-in for a flight and need my boarding pass - perfect. Here, where I'm having to look up the code of the shitake mushrooms, it's inconvenient at best. Add to that the issues with the machine detecting if items are where they're supposed to be, and having to wait for someone if I have a bottle of wine in my cart (trust me, I've doubled 21...), it's an absolute hassle. I'd be willing to pay a little extra for a pleasant checkout experience. read more

Had a slice of pepperoni and a slice of bbq chicken bacon pizza. The bbq chicken was freaking amazing, with lots of chicken and bacon, and not too much bbq sauce. Saved the pepperoni for later, it's fantastic as well. At $1.50 each I think today's bbq chicken pizza is the best fod deal in west seattle. Potentially better than Pizzeria 22. QFC definitely uses better chicken and roasted garlic. read more

We got sliced meat and cheese from the deli section, then the next day 3 of us in our house were suddenly VERY ill with food poisoning. The meat (turkey) was the only thing we all had in common to eat. I talked to a friend who used to work there and he said their lack of hygenie is "scary", that people who handle meat show up to work and get on with butchering, never having washed their hands. I believe it. A search of King County Public Health inspection records turns up numerous violations, including "improper cold holding temperatures" and inadequate handwashing, as well as poultry being stored too close to other foods. Most of the violations are from the past 2 years. I can't believe I'm writing a review about a grocery store..... Anyway, the only thing I have to say about QFC West Seattle is: "BEWARE THE U-SCAN NAZI"! And, I'm freaking serious. That bitch is mean. You'll know her when you see her. I worked in a grocery store a million years ago in high school and consider myself a master at scanning my own groceries. Every time I go in this store, however, The U-SCAN NAZI stands over my shoulder and barks out orders like a drill sergeant. I love this QFC! They have a parking garage, are in a good location, and the customer service is always very helpful and cheerful. Their product selection is a bit odd though. They have a really good beer selection (my beer expert friend was even impressed!), an awesome gelato bar, and a very large cheese and bakery section. In other areas though (general grocery stuff), they seem to be lacking. Its not something to keep me from going there because this is still my go-to grocery store, but its just annoying to occasionally have to run to Safeway because their rice selection is not even a shelf big....its weird. read more

I was anti-QFC when I first heard we were getting one right across the street from Safeway. I almost started a protest but I'm far too lazy to organize anything like that. I changed my tune when it opened, QFC is now my go to joint for groceries. They have such great deals on meat that it blows my mind. You can get a great kalbi steak for about $4.50 or a chicken cordon bleu for around $3.50. I'll often get a mushroom meatloaf for around $5 that lasts for 2 meals. Then the deli, oh such wonderful pasta salads and sandwiches and the gelato! The gelato! Oh, the sweet delicious gelato! I even get my pills here which gives you bonuses for gas or grocery purchases. I'm tempted to get diagnosed with more stuff just for the rewards. This QFC is AOK. read more

Bad customer service. Recently stopped in to purchase a single item. Paid by debit, so I needed a receipt. Yes! I record purchases. The receipt machine did not disperse. Rang for help. After repeated tries, got the floor manager (woman). She just could not understand why I would even need a receipt. As if receiving a receipt for my purchase was an unnecessary luxury. Finally, she tears out a piece of paper and begrudgingly scribbles the purchase price, nothing else. QFC! please send personal shoppers to this store. read more

I come here nearly every day, though I don't always check in. I love the convenience of this store but I find that sometimes their selection is a little lacking and their morning service is poor- especially at the Starbucks located inside. I came in for coffee a few mornings ago at it was closed (usually they are open at 5:30 and I came at about 7:30-45). I like to use the self checkout, which is a nice feature because most of the time the checkers are not at their stations that early. That being said however, the manager who is there is the morning is exceptionally pleasant and always very helpful and has gone out of his way to help me on more than one occasion. This place is clean and while it is sometimes pricey, they often run sales so you can find some deals. read more

Y'all have the absolute worst customer service. I understand times are difficult currently, but your store hours are posted to be open til 8. When I get there at 7:50 because I need feminine products in an emergency, I shouldn't be rudely shooed away at the door with someone pointing to the sign that you're open until 8. That is 10 minutes for me to go get one item. It would take me 2 minutes to be in and out. If you want your hours to be 8-7:50, then post that. I am incredibly disappointed. read more

Nice selection for a store that seems so small on the outside. Sadly, the prices are big on just about everything. I get better deals on many items at Whole Foods and PCC. Customer service is great here though. They have almost all the products I would expect out of a large neighborhood store, and feature new and trendy products too. I am a fan simply because I live very, very close. There's a Starbucks inside, they have their own bakery, lines usually are not too long, and they constantly have a food bank collection going on at the front of the store. All good things! read more
