The items I got from the retail shelves.

Want fresh good seafood to rival everything on the waterfronts? Run don't walk here. Sooooooo good. My husband love's oysters on the 1/2 shell and I love all things fish. We did not want to fight lunchtime traffic today, so we went to our childhood stomping grounds: Madrona. We were greeted warmly when we walked in, seated promptly, and given water straight away. It's clearly a fish market with ~4 tables and a counter for seating, and also has a small retail section for specialty crackers, chocolate, jams and dips etc. I couldn't stay in my seat (we got some fig and olive cracker crisps, and Salmon spread to go). We ordered 4 oysters, fresh albacore tuna melt, and Ciopinno. All of it was a 10/10. The melt was not overly mayonnaised, yet was still creamy, it had fresh herbs and was not fishy. My husband said the Ciopinno was great: really mild and clear seafood broth loaded forth crab and shell fish.

I hate to leave a bad review, because I genuinely love the food here, but the lack of customer service I experienced today was honestly wild. I have ordered takeout from here multiple times, and probably 80% of the time there is some kind of issue with the order. It's extremely delayed (I'm talking 30 minutes past the pick up time) or there has been a mistake with the order. In the past, the workers have been very nice and apologetic, but today when they got the order wrong, they were incredibly rude. I understand that things get busy and are overwhelming in the food service industry, I've been there, but I treated as a nuisance for simply asking for the food that I spent $40 on. When I was given half of my order, I asked for a refund on the half it was missing because I didn't have time to wait for the rest of it. Instead of obliging or even apologizing, I was (not kindly) told to "just wait 5 minutes!" Well, 5 minutes turned into 25 and by the time I got the rest of my order, the first half was ice cold. The other half of my order was missing most of the stuff that was supposed to be on it and everything was just haphazardly thrown in there (see photo to compare--both were supposed to be the same dish). It was given to me rudely and with no offer for a refund or discount, even though I wasn't the slightest bit rude to them. And on top of that, the cook was audibly swearing and yelling at the other employee. Unfortunately, my family used to be loyal costumers, but we won't be coming back. The fact that I paid $40 dollars for this is kind of insane? I'm not normally one to complain, but come on. Do better, please.

This place was great! The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. We had a feta, spinach salmon burger and the fish tacos. We had some local beers and non-alcoholic drinks. 5/5 - highly recommend this cute seafood spot.

Tuna Melt, to die for! Omg!!!

I live in LA and literally fly into Seattle a few times a year and this is 1st stop for me. The best crab cakes hands down in the PNW....the Cesar dressing is amazing. I spend at least $120 on groceries here. To me it's worth it because it quality. I'm definitely far from rich so I know to budget for when I come here lol. This was the first time I actually ordered hot food and I was pleasantly surprised and now craving the Tuna melt Haha. The lady who cooked the food is definitely a top chef I didn't need to add salt or hot sauce to anything...winning! I will be back

A friend ordered me some bairdi crab to be delivered a couple of blocks away from the store. I'm not sure how it works but she did it with toasttab and uber. The order was never delivered to my office and uber was no help to resolve the issue and the drivers phone number would not allow access to help him locate me. He delivered it somewhere from the picture he took but not to my office. We both were making calls to the Market and Ryan went above and beyond. He was willing to walk to my location to deliver me what was paid for even though they were not to blame. What a great person and business model. I went to the market to pick it up as to not take him away from his job and him fix someone else's incompetence. Will I recommend the Market to friends and you all who read this. Heck yes and the crab was awesome too!! But I would not use uber eats or toasttab if you want delivery. Thank you to the staff and policy makers at Pike Place Fish Market, what a great example.

LAM'S SEAFOOD MARKET @ SEATTLE…read more Parking is available in their lot, but it is one-way only, so once you enter, you'll have to loop around unless you find a spot right away. Unfortunately, this area is one of the rougher parts of Seattle. There are a lot of unhoused individuals nearby, and during our visit, there were people openly using drugs outside, which felt pretty unsettling while shopping. My mom and I have been coming here for the past 10 years, and it's honestly sad to see how much this area has declined over time. We were able to find parking and go inside, but the store itself feels very rundown and poorly maintained. It doesn't seem like there's been much effort put into renovating or updating the space. I wouldn't recommend buying fresh produce here, there were a lot of flies, and overall it didn't feel clean. The store feels sturdy but very old, and the overall ambiance is outdated. If you do stop by, I'd only recommend picking up canned or sealed items from brands you already trust. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this location unless you absolutely need something in an emergency. Lam's Seafood in Tukwila, on the other hand, is much better, it's bigger, cleaner, and feels a lot safer with no major issues in the surrounding area. Compared to that location, I would strongly avoid this one. It's disappointing to see how much it's changed over the years.

Upon walking in, we noticed the server was pretty quick to take the initiative to push a couple high tops together since most of the tables only sat 2. We also had a child with us so he offered us a booster seat. I feel like that was the last time we were treated pleasantly. Our server was very dry and direct when he approached us. I told him my husband has celiac and his response was "Ok." I followed up with so can you tell us what options we have that are Gluten free friendly? (Didn't think I needed to ask after mentioning a severe allergy) He just stepped away and looked like he was trying to find out from someone in the kitchen. He came back shortly after and gave us our options. We ordered a few different things to share, oysters, the fish dip and mussels tostada. The vibe we got was that he did not enjoy serving us because we had a child with us and I seem to be asking him too many questions. That is the impression he left with us. I will say the oysters were very fresh and enjoyable. We also got the crab Mac n cheese which was cheesy and tasty. We asked him for some more chips since we ran out quickly for the smoked oyster dip. He seemed annoyed but got us more. I could overhear that he sounded more pleasant with the other guests surrounding us. The mussels tostada flavors were nice but I didn't love the texture of them which is totally just my preference. He dropped off the check shortly after and noticed there was a 18% gratuity which I found out is standard for downtown Seattle. Being in the industry I do think it's a courtesy to mention it when dropping off the check to a guest. On another note, I did think the seafood tank in the center was cool because you could see all the geoduck and oysters they were offering. Overall, I think we wanted to enjoy our experience more but the servers attitude and demeanor towards us was off putting and we just tried to eat quickly and leave. Don't think we'll return to this location.

Their happy hour runs from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday; we arrived around 2:30 and the place was packed. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes to be seated. From the happy hour menu, we ordered: Oysters of the Day: The Beach Glass and Kumamoto were today's oysters, so we ordered six of each at $2.25 apiece, which was a pretty good deal. The Kumamoto is on the sweeter side and went down nice and smooth. The Beach Glass was firmer with more of a chew. Both were really tasty and super fresh. Geoduck Chowder: The chowder itself is not too heavy and was really tasty. People are probably used to having clams in their chowder, but geoduck is a great alternative. We ordered this with a side of bread. Smoked Oyster Dip: This one is very creamy and savory, and it tasted great with the smoked oysters in it. It came with potato chips, which were fine, but since the dip is already salty, the chips made it even saltier. It goes down really well with a pint of beer, but we ended up eating it with our side of bread from the chowder, which paired better than the chips in my opinion. From the regular menu, we decided to order the Crab Mac and Cheese. They used a smoked Beecher's cheese sauce which was great, but it seemed to overpower the crab meat. It isn't a dish I would recommend for the crab. Overall, happy hour at Taylor's is still a great deal and a must-visit for fresh oysters.

What immediately caught our attention (for obvious reasons) was the bold sign: LIVE KING CRAB. We walked in and were instantly impressed. Large water tanks filled with live Dungeness crab and live king crab, crystal-clear water, and absolutely no fishy smell--always an excellent sign. The space feels more like a clean, well-run warehouse set up for both wholesale and retail, not a typical seafood market. A gentleman working there quickly came over and started chatting with us about crab. Super knowledgeable and friendly. They offer a wide selection: live, fresh, and frozen crab, Japanese scallops, fish, and a variety of shellfish. We considered the live king crab, but it was honestly too big for the two of us to handle in a hotel kitchen--and definitely would've been a splurge. So, plan B: I called my sister-in-law to see if she'd like some frozen king crab legs. She said yes immediately. The gentleman showed us the frozen options, and the king crab legs were long, meaty, and impressive--similar in size to what Costco carries, but priced better. We ended up negotiating a great deal and purchased a box of their Party Pack King Jumbo Crab Legs for her. Later that evening, she surprised her daughter with a king crab birthday dinner, and they reported the legs were super meaty and absolutely delicious. Safe to say, we'll definitely keep Seattle Seafood Center in mind for future seafood splurges. If you love high-quality seafood and especially crab, this place is worth a stop--even if it's an unplanned one.

I briefly toured the retail shop glancing at all the displays, but exercising restraint. This is truly a high quality, grab and go, treat yourself (+family & friends) neighborhood bodega. I wanted to also compare this site with my visit & experience at the Pike Place Market location. I stopped by the showcase table to sample and savor the meatball, parmesan crisp, and chocolate chip cookie samples provided by a very personable individual. I ended up buying a tub of their pomodoro sauce (same sauce used with meatball sample) and a roast beef sandwich. The latter was savored down by Lake Washington at the Madison Park Beach. Delicious sandwich, would have been perfection if one bread slice was not soggy due to the contents. But the wrapper helped and had napkins in my car. Pomodoro sauce was used with premium al dente radiatore pasta. This yielded a flavorful dish for dinner. I like the concept for pret a porter/meal kit ideas. Price point not for every budget though, however, one is paying for high quality and well curated items. Current sites are located at Seattle's Pike Place Market, Mercer Island (will return after fire damage renovation), Bellevue/Medina, and this new Seattle/Madison Valley site. Future locations will be in Yarrow Bay/Kirkland and Seattle/Eastlake. Minus one star due to soggy bread, challenging parking situation, and ignored twice waiting to pay at the register.
