    Lots of meats

We've been coming to Lam's for years now. Their prices started out amazing but have gone up just like everything now. There are still great deals on produce, sauces & Asian noodles. Our go to produce items are usually basil, cilantro, green onions, ginger, garlic, bean sprouts & lemon grass. We also get rice noodles, chili garlic sauce, fish sauce, red curry & sesame oil at great prices. We have gotten some marrow bones, short ribs & shrimp there but we prefer to shop for our meat & seafood at Costco. Honestly the smell in those departments is really off putting to us. There also is a large freezer section with lots of Asian dishes as well as prawns & shrimp. If you're making any Asian dishes this is the place to get all of your unique ingredients at a great price!

I'm biased, I love taro the most...but I love them all.

We actually only went to Dochi for Mochi doughnuts, which was great. They are delicious! I go here every time I'm in town. But from what we can see, the market looks like it'd have everything you'd need. Next time I'm here, I'll walk the market.

This place is your typical Asian/Vietnamese grocery store just a little bit bigger with more variety if items to shop for. The smell is like you're walking along the ocean and you see seafood everywhere in the water. But I am reviewing the hot food section. Ordered the combo plate which consists of rice and two entrees, catfish kho and goat coconut curry. It was good for the price which was 6.99 and the portion was huge. The lady that served me was also very nice.

Be aware buyers! They sneakily sell you this mango for $20. No label whatsoever. Many people in Yelp had this issue and feel scammed before (I just found out this fact after trying to return the mango I bought yesterday and got refused). I've been going to this market thinking I'm supporting a small bussiness but no more. It's not that I cannot pay $20 for a mango - I just feel scammed by their way of doing business. Goodbye Lam's Seafood.

DON'T BUY THEIR BAKED GOODS. So freaking stale and hard. Opened it Right after I bought it (within mins), felt it was super hard so I went inside to return it because this should not be sold to anyone. They refused to returned it because I "touched" it and won't be able to resell it. She said if I were to said "I didn't touch it" she would be able to return it and resell it. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO RESELL THIS TO ANYONE?!!! You can throw this and break someone's window. Freaking hard. Waste of 6.00. But saved you guys from buying this horrible crap. If this is their mentality, DON'T BUY THEIR DELI FOODS.

This market is very authentic and remind me a piece of Vietnam. It can be a little dirty and hectic. But they have almost everything you need. However, the area itself can be a little sketchy. Plenty of homeless in the area.

I have been shoping at this location for the last 8 years, since I work in the area, I tipically buy couple of spring rolls for lunch. Today, March 15th. 2024, as I was leaving the market, some young fellow, a business employee demanded to see my receipt. There are couple of issues here. Firstly, I do not pull out my wallet in public, mostly within 10-20 feet away from what was cleartly transient population, that hangs around the entrance of the business. Secondly I tend to not respond to demands from whomever, some young and disrespectful fellow, younger than my sons, who's yet to dicover the inticacies of polite speech in public. Finally if he was that curious, he could have watched the inside of the store insted of hanging out in the parking lot. As I was avoiding this fellow, others came around and shortly I was surrounded by 6 to 8 people, talking over eacheother shoving and pushing me. I asked with a louder voice to be left alone. At that point one other employee rips my food out of my hand, and as I turn around to see who he is, forcefully throws the mangled my food packages into my chest. To put it in clear terms, I was assaulted on the business premises, by a business employee, who took my food and hit me with it. After which he took a boxer's stance, and invited me to punch him. I called the police and filed an assault report. One more point: once I paid for the food the food was mine. Taking it out of my hands, against my will, that is theft! Be very careful shopping here: these people will steal your food and assault you with it! Lucky if you walk away unharmed! Receipt my purchased food in the picture and the food on the ground picture is attached. I also have a picture of the fellow who assaulted me!

I have been going to Lam's Seafood for many, many years now, since it first opened. They had not yet expanded with the covered produce area and no expanded parking. Back then, it was much cleaner, make that much, much cleaner. In the recent years, the place has become much more dirty with limited extensive cleaning. All the extensions seem hodge-podge, with refrigerated and frozen cases plugged in and never cleaned. I stopped buying their cooked foods. BUT, I still go for the fresh produce area. They have one of the biggest selections in reasonable prices. Occasionally, I may buy from the seafood tanks, but I usually prefer to buy from the standalone seafood stores. I haven't bought meat for a long time from Asian markets; they are not USDA labeled. I buy some items from their frozen section, especially the seafood balls, meat balls, etc. Their selection is geared towards Vietnamese and Chinese, limited for other ethnicities.

Lots of variety in fish, veggies, meats. It's a bit Grodi because it's sort of an indoor outdoor market but it's a fun place to go.

The fresh seafood, fruit and veggies, flowers, and all sorts of vendors selling some unique products as well as lots of touristy stuff. And lots of food options to choose from too. And so many shops. It's so pretty along the water. The guys who toss the fish make sure everyone that walks by gets a good show. They must get tired of tossing that fish. And that poor dead fish that keeps getting tossed--it must be mush by the end of the day! We didn't go to the gum wall this time. Saw it the last time we were here and I didn't need to see it again. On this day it was super busy! I think mostly because of the cruise ship in port. So, if you are okay with the crowds, give yourself some time to walk and explore all that there is to offer here. Note that the traffic all along Alaskan Way was a log jam! We took the Hop On-Hop Off bus and didn't have to deal with traffic and parking.

A friend ordered me some bairdi crab to be delivered a couple of blocks away from the store. I'm not sure how it works but she did it with toasttab and uber. The order was never delivered to my office and uber was no help to resolve the issue and the drivers phone number would not allow access to help him locate me. He delivered it somewhere from the picture he took but not to my office. We both were making calls to the Market and Ryan went above and beyond. He was willing to walk to my location to deliver me what was paid for even though they were not to blame. What a great person and business model. I went to the market to pick it up as to not take him away from his job and him fix someone else's incompetence. Will I recommend the Market to friends and you all who read this. Heck yes and the crab was awesome too!! But I would not use uber eats or toasttab if you want delivery. Thank you to the staff and policy makers at Pike Place Fish Market, what a great example.

Upon walking in, we noticed the server was pretty quick to take the initiative to push a couple high tops together since most of the tables only sat 2. We also had a child with us so he offered us a booster seat. I feel like that was the last time we were treated pleasantly. Our server was very dry and direct when he approached us. I told him my husband has celiac and his response was "Ok." I followed up with so can you tell us what options we have that are Gluten free friendly? (Didn't think I needed to ask after mentioning a severe allergy) He just stepped away and looked like he was trying to find out from someone in the kitchen. He came back shortly after and gave us our options. We ordered a few different things to share, oysters, the fish dip and mussels tostada. The vibe we got was that he did not enjoy serving us because we had a child with us and I seem to be asking him too many questions. That is the impression he left with us. I will say the oysters were very fresh and enjoyable. We also got the crab Mac n cheese which was cheesy and tasty. We asked him for some more chips since we ran out quickly for the smoked oyster dip. He seemed annoyed but got us more. I could overhear that he sounded more pleasant with the other guests surrounding us. The mussels tostada flavors were nice but I didn't love the texture of them which is totally just my preference. He dropped off the check shortly after and noticed there was a 18% gratuity which I found out is standard for downtown Seattle. Being in the industry I do think it's a courtesy to mention it when dropping off the check to a guest. On another note, I did think the seafood tank in the center was cool because you could see all the geoduck and oysters they were offering. Overall, I think we wanted to enjoy our experience more but the servers attitude and demeanor towards us was off putting and we just tried to eat quickly and leave. Don't think we'll return to this location.

What immediately caught our attention (for obvious reasons) was the bold sign: LIVE KING CRAB. We walked in and were instantly impressed. Large water tanks filled with live Dungeness crab and live king crab, crystal-clear water, and absolutely no fishy smell--always an excellent sign. The space feels more like a clean, well-run warehouse set up for both wholesale and retail, not a typical seafood market. A gentleman working there quickly came over and started chatting with us about crab. Super knowledgeable and friendly. They offer a wide selection: live, fresh, and frozen crab, Japanese scallops, fish, and a variety of shellfish. We considered the live king crab, but it was honestly too big for the two of us to handle in a hotel kitchen--and definitely would've been a splurge. So, plan B: I called my sister-in-law to see if she'd like some frozen king crab legs. She said yes immediately. The gentleman showed us the frozen options, and the king crab legs were long, meaty, and impressive--similar in size to what Costco carries, but priced better. We ended up negotiating a great deal and purchased a box of their Party Pack King Jumbo Crab Legs for her. Later that evening, she surprised her daughter with a king crab birthday dinner, and they reported the legs were super meaty and absolutely delicious. Safe to say, we'll definitely keep Seattle Seafood Center in mind for future seafood splurges. If you love high-quality seafood and especially crab, this place is worth a stop--even if it's an unplanned one.
