This is a well-stocked Asian market in Beacon Hill area. It does have its own parking lot, which is convenient, but it can fill up and be congested easily. The store itself has a lot to offer and a lot of variety but I find myself easily overwhelmed in here due to the lack of organization and signage. Or maybe I just haven't figured out their organization system yet. There are designated aisles for categories (produce, sauces, seasonings, etc.) but within those aisles, I'm not sure what's going on. Even when I asked an employee where an item lived, he could only give me a general aisle (is it possible he also doesn't know where things are?). This probably isn't enough to deter me from coming back (cuz the prices are generally really good), but I definitely won't ever come here when I'm pressed for time.

Pretty decent size of crawfish for our Cajun Style Seafood Feast ($12.99 for 5lbs bag)

If you're a fan of crawfish, this is the cheapest place where you can buy them ($12.99 for a 5 lb bag). I think prices on everything they sell is cheaper than any other asian stores regardless. One star off just because of the rusty push carts; it just seems unsanitary and another star off because of the smell that lingers right when you walk towards the entrance. If you're a person that hates anything that smells fishy, this isn't prolly a good place for you. Also, bring a jacket to keep you warm if you're coming here during winter time, because it's going to be freezing inside the store (I don't think they have a heater at all). Oh, one last thing that bothers me is their parking lot & store location. Definitely super sketchy. I'd keep coming here regardless; just for the crawfish and some fresh veggies! Most likely when family craves for some cajun style feast, this is our go-to place.

Seattle Supermarket used to be the closest Asian market to our place until 123 market opened. However, because we have a habit of coming here (still convenient) and we do have a certain degree of loyalty to them, we still visit Seattle Supermarket quite frequently. Don't come here for cleanliness or great customer service. OR to be comfortable (It's probably around 45 degrees in the winter...). But yes, come for groceries and shop like you're shopping in a giant refrigerator. Get in. Get out. Prices are very fair and items are usually fresh. Though rumor has it that on occasion they will re-wrap their meats with new labels to make them appear fresher than they are... (By rumor, I mean my mother once watched them...). So maybe come here for the fresh veggies, fruits, and canned/packaged foods then.

Just read the description. Right next to the whole frozen chicken. Lol.

Their prices are slightly better than Fou Lee and great selection in condiments and sauces, too.

Does this store sell live turtles for soup?

No. Just one of those "Humane" issues. If it's going to be "prepared", "American-jin" don't like to see a live critter killed in front of them. Besides, they ain't cheap to import. Ask for frozen turtle meat instead. They will have to special order… Read more

Revisiting it always feels special. The market looks small from the outside, but don't be fooled--it's surprisingly spacious inside with plenty to browse. The parking lot has limited spots so be prepared to circle or wait briefly. We stopped in just to browse and do some spontaneous shopping, and of course left with more than planned. I was thrilled to find a DIY taho kit (includes sago and arnibal) and grabbed two right away. A tub of Magnolia ube ice cream and banana turons were calling my husband's name, so those came back to the hotel with us too. If we hadn't already eaten, we would've grabbed lunch there--the food smelled so inviting. The cashier was especially lovely--friendly, chatty, and engaging with everyone in line. That kind of warm customer service is refreshing and definitely deserves recognition. We left fully content, happy to revisit a familiar place and score a few fun impulse finds. Fou Lee Market continues to be a comforting, nostalgic stop that never disappoints. Update: The banana turon was really good. Super crunchy exterior with sugar that hardened into a crisp shell instead of turning gooey. Inside was a whole banana, not mushy or overcooked or dry, which gave it great texture. Simple, well-made, and very satisfying.

Lulu took over two spaces - Golden Hong (a tiny market) and a noodle shop that has vacated long time ago. (This is the same location as the old China Gate restaurant, so the façade is ornate.) The combined space makes for a more comfortable shopping space, bigger than the nearby (and old) Dong Sing Market, smaller than farther Dong Hing Market (with a parking lot). All this matters because many elderly locals can only walk to buy groceries. Having more grocery options is pertinent to serving this dense and elderly community. I am excited for the locals, and I hope Lulu can keep the prices low (like Golden Hong was). While Lulu is currently open, it is still work in progress with several cases in place but empty. Having the business open is important for the community (and their own bottom-line), so they have been partially opened for a while now. The outside (as of this writing) still has the signs of the previous businesses. The only Lulu sign is a screen at the window. The interior is brightly lit. The produce areas are particularly abundant and well-stocked, perfect for their clientele. The freezer inventory is much larger than Golden Hong. Good for stocking up a bit during the cold season and shop less often. They have a modest though sufficient amount of non-perishable, shelf-stable goods and also a selection of small item household goods such as gloves, sponges, etc. This market is sized and stocked for the immediate community. I thought the produce area is excellent. When I was there yesterday (on a Sunday), not one but two ladies were busy sorting through the boxes of produce before putting them on shelves. Nice! I will return even if just for produce. Credit card purchases require a minimum of $10.

Some days it's a hit or miss if i'm going to be honest, like for the papaya salad it's like they don't put enough padaek but 9 times out of 10 they do it good.
