However, I still go to Saar's fairly often, because they carry a lot of stuff QFC doesn't, especially in terms of Asian and Hispanic foods. Saar's also usually has cheaper produce (even if the selection is more limited), and spices are usually WAY cheaper at Saar's. For example, a bulk container of garlic powder is $25 at QFC and $5 at Saar's. Also, since Saar's is outside the Seattle city limits, they don't charge a sugar tax, so a lot of beverages end up being a lot cheaper. And they carry all the flavors of Jarritos! So anyway. Saar's isn't a great choice as a primary grocery store, but I still like having it around.

[they have yummy pan dulce, cakes and desserts, and all the chips you can dream of, some imported from MX Direct] The location could be better, but they have a private lot, and we haven't had any issues in the two-plus years of coming here. Most items are reasonably priced, and the folks here are helpful and welcoming. There could be seedy characters around, but most mind their business. We tried a few other markets closer to our neighborhood, but their selections weren't as good as Castillos. Castillos has most things you can dream of and their carniceria is also bomb, we've tried most meats here, they're pretty high quality. The only con here is the price of the meats, but it's understandable that since they're a small market, they're less competitively priced than the larger grocers. Also, I don't want to hurt their reputation by getting into the details; all I will mention is to be very careful with the Chorizo. Make sure you chew it thoroughly and inspect it carefully while cooking.

They have everything I need for such a good price! Produce, meats, every instant ramen I need, the go-to spices and sauces for asian dishes, kitchen tools, and ready made food such as banh mi. If I need anything Asian related, I know Hung Long with be a one stop shop. They are very clean and always very stocked. If there is something you need that you can't find, they are probably about to restock it or they will show you where it is. Their workers are also the best! They are all such hard workers and very friendly. For the years I have been coming here, they have all been the same employees for the most part and the little exchanges I have with them in the aisles or at the register always makes my day.

Parking is a plaza parking lot sharing spaces with Big Foot Java, Goodwill and some other businesses. The location for the delicious taco de barria is to the right of the market.
