My elderly Filipino in-laws would have loved this crazy place. It's like a dirty Fred Meyer that is catered to SE Asians, Mexicans, and more. While I might not recommend this place to anyone, they have their charms to treasure hunt and prices tend to be low. If anything looks questionable, it is. I don't buy any of the seafood. The meat is a maybe if you live nearby. The produce is mixed, too. Gai-lan (Chinese broccoli) in a bag looked suspicious; they were. I still make mistakes with what I buy here. Meanwhile, a box of honey mangoes is better looking than any others I have seen - BIG and approaching ripeness. They were superb. The deep-fried SE Asian treat from a mold that looks like a lotus flower (called Khanom Dok Bua in Lao or Khanom Dok Jok in Thai) is a surprising winner. I didn't die. They were good. LOL. Look thoroughly before buying. They have their gems and plenty of don't-bother goods. Look for best-by dates. They are not on top of such details. The staff is friendly-ish, if they aren't pre-occupied with friends. Otherwise, you don't exist until you pay.

There was nobody inside the store, so maneuvering the cart around the aisles was easy as well as browsing around. Definitely bought some Korean Kimbap, Sidedishes and Spicy Jerky. Prices were a bit on the higher side than other Asian grocery stores, though. The elderly couple who runs the store were very amicable and polite. We received excellent customer service. BTW, they often charge you higher than the labeled price do I would not come again. And they sell expired milk , food too! Horrible.

Possibly. I get all my pantry staples and Asian snacks here. The frozen foods are always good too. Not always the best selection on fresh produce or meats but I mostly get those at Trader Joe's anyways. S-Mart has the best prices on all my kids' favorite snacks and now they make fresh banh mi's, so it's the only grocery store my kids actually willingly go to. The employees are always helpful and friendly, especially to my little ones. Yes it can smell funky in there and isn't as well lit but as long as they continue to stock all my pantry and snack needs at the best prices around, I'll continue coming back!

Reasonably priced at $7.99, about right given the protein amount. You pay for the banh mi at the grocery checkout and then bring the receipt to the banh mi counter - which is just to the left inside S Marts South entrance. This is a small spot and they get busy, so perhaps check out the wait time and order before you shop. I waited 30 minutes mid day today. (S Mart has a great selection of both Asian and some non-asian foods) The staff were very nice and helpful and our order was spot on, even with our special requests of one non-toasted and without jalapenos. We'll definitely go again.
