I bought 5 lbs of halibut and 5 lbs of Pacific King salmon. The halibut was delicious. The salmon was inedible. I am not sure what the problem was. It had absolutely NO TASTE. It wasn't fishy tasting, it was tasteless and the texture was soft and mushy, even though I cooked it thoroughly. I'm very disappointed, as I still have 4 lbs of salmon left. This was my first seafood encounter in Seatown, and the only vendor that offered prepared personal sized take-out seafood. ATMOSPHERE: The take-out only counter is located in the middle of the Pike Place Market. They sell fresh seafood as well as handy to-go cups and plates. There are no tables or seats. FOOD: Dungeness crab cup - Super fresh crab stuffed into a cup and topped with horseradish cocktail sauce. This fish market is simply amazing on all levels. On a chance while here in 2016, I stopped here before visiting the Seattle Mariners game and had some sashimi grade salmon. I couldn't stop thinking about it for the next year so when I came back this year I basically sprinted right to this stand and purchased way too much amazing seafood at incredibly fair prices. The guys working here are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the product they are working with. Even thought they didn't have pre-packaged sashimi the second time we were here, they were able to cut up a few filets of salmon and tuna and even found us some soy sauce. Everything they did was above and beyond. The quality of the fish is absolutely what you would expect from a premier fish market like Pike Place market. I came back because I read on yelp about the 3 for $6 oyster shooters in addition to some other goodies like uni bowls and geoduck. Purchased a crab cocktail to eat while walking around. Delicious Dungeness Crab, and lots of huge chunks with cocktail sauce on the bottom. Would have preferred to have the option not to have the cocktail sauce, but it was already there. It had a nice flavor and a good kick to it, but I really wanted to taste the full flavor of the crab by itself. Lots of different seafood cocktails to try from shrimp cocktail with jumbo shrimp to the crab cocktail, oyster cocktail, oyster shooters and much more.
