I wrote a previous review and I gave my experience a 1 star. I'm appreciative that the owner, Kevin responded back and explained the base price plus protein cost and I changed my review to 4 stars. As I am aware that the staff person didn't explain to me the process, I think this can be a learning opportunity and it doesn't deserve for me to not come back. Man I love this place so much. I'm always suspicious of places that try to "reinvent" Asian foods, but IJ Sushi Burrito does it great. Food is always fresh, the service is quick, they always do their best to stiff as much as they can into your burrito and it never breaks. Just an all around great place to stop for lunch. I placed an order ahead of time so that I can immediately get the food by the time I walk to the restaurant. This place is located on the 2nd floor of the Westlake Center inside the food court, and it is not too hard to miss as it's right near the escalators. I built my own burrito with the poke salmon base as it as I was really craving salmon, and put on a bunch of add ons like seaweed salad, sweet corn, edamame, etc with eel and spicy mayo sauces. The burrito did the job in satisfying my cravings, though I didn't like how soggy the seaweed was comparatively and that the burrito was poorly wrapped (the burrito is rolled as a sheet of seaweed and rice but they didn't roll it completely). The rest of the burrito itself is otherwise solid with fresh salmon, though a bit small for $15 ($14 after tax with discount). It's a good place for a quick casual meal and likely one of the better options within the food court of Westlake Center, especially given that right now, they have a promotion going on where you get 10% off your first order in app or website read more

I was walking by westlake area and decided to explore a little and saw this place. It looks like they recently open but the menu looks interesting so I decided to give it a try. I got the Seahawks burrito which contains crispy salmon as the main protein and then their standard filling of Avocado, tamago, veggies, etc. Good: the burrito itself was good in flavoring and the crispy salmon was crispy and brought a nice texture to the burrito. It also come in a pretty nice togo box. Bad: portion is a little small for the price. The burrito itself was not wrapped properly as it broke apart when you start eating it. Each time I take a layer of the wrapper off, the burrito breaks even more, so you definitely need napkin which defeat the purpose. They are new so hopefully they will work out some of the kinks but I can see this place being a go to place for a grab and go. read more

Fantastic and so quick when ordered! If you LOVE sushi, you'll love this giant sushi "roll"! Located inside the mall on the 2nd floor, a small food court area with lots of seating. You can order your own item combination or order their signature combos. When you order your own, you have the choice of protein and unlimited veggie additions. My husband and I were wonderfully surprised at how good IJ Sushi is. We ordered online and picked up our burritos, not expecting much from a mall food court vendor. The burritos were super fresh and the ability to customize them made the experience so nice! We both got poke marinaded tuna and salmon with an assortment of veggies. The marinade was well balanced and sweet while the actual fish itself tasted so fresh. I loved all of the veggies and the rice complimented everything so well. Only downside was that there was a lot of packaging imo, but the food itself was soooo good. We'll swing by here again if we're shopping near Westlake! read more

A sushi burrito - essentially it's a really BIG sushi roll that hasn't been cut up into individual pieces. There is a ton of food in one so I recommend splitting if you're not all that hungry. ATTENTION OWNERS of IJ Sushi Burrito: This afternoon around 12:30 PM I stood at the counter of your restaurant, eager to order and try your food. I stood there for 5 minutes patiently as no one was in the front of the counter to service customers. Because your food looked fresh and tasty I remained patient, but ultimately was forced to yell towards the back of the kitchen 'excuse me'...however, when the woman with the horrific attitude emerged and began callously interacting, expressing rudeness and resentment for being there, and an unwillingness to even answer the most basic of questions we immediately just walked off. What a poor excuse for someone responsible for 'customer service'. I can only imagine how much business/$ you all have lost as a result of this woman, it's a real shame because you all look to have nice food, but I never got the chance to test that hypothesis. I recommend you 'hard pivot' and get someone who appreciates their job to be the face of your business, otherwise you will miss out (and possibly be unfairly scored poorly) due to the poor disposition of your employee rather than the quality of your food.
