Clearly the owners don't want to run an actual business anymore. This is a great poke place to grab n go. Although they tend to get long lines during lunch time, the employees are fast and can always get the line moving. There's not a lot of dining space in the restaurant and the few tables they do have are in a very small place with lots of people moving to get their food. They always give you your food in a plastic container so it is convenient to take out if you decide to eat elsewhere. I really enjoy their sauce. They will ask you for your fish choices and the spice level of the sauce and mix it before adding it to your poke bowl. If you don't like your fish marinated though, you should know that the restaurant doesn't have an option for no sauce. You get your choice of rice/salad, choose your fish, sauce spice level, and the toppings. They also have additional sauces, of which my favorite is the cilantro aioli. I came by here for lunch since it's somewhat close to work. The place is definitely geared toward quick lunches as it's pretty small and had limited seatings. I got the salmon lover which came with rice, seaweed, onion, salmon, spicy mayo, salad, mango, crab salad, and cucumber. Everything tasted fresh, but for some reason, they didn't work very well together. I felt like I was eating components of a poke bowl rather than a poke bowl. Although the price is right with Poke Alice, I find the food sub par to FOB. Poke Alice has less selection for the carbs, garnishes and toppings. I ordered a small poke with yellowtail and spicy tuna and got a mix of white rice and greens for my carbs. The fish tasted fresh but the scoops seem to be smaller (or maybe they just didn't pack as much into the scoop). The white rice was very tough and not sticky which made eating it a chore. The poke is served in a rectangular plastic container which makes it harder to mix together when you are eating it, so the flavor ends up less balanced. On the plus side, I did appreciate that they had black truffle oil that can be added onto your poke and they also have a loyalty card to earn a free poke. Unless Poke Alice improves their food quality, I would actually walk the extra 10 minutes to get better poke at FOB. read more

Poke Alice 2 is a block or so from my office, and is decent enough if you don't want to spend the extra 5-10mins walking over to FOB Poke and standing in their insane line. This place is pretty hidden in an office building, and they're generally pretty speedy. Their poke is fresh, but they really lack in portion size and variety. The scoops they use for protein are teeny tiny. Like, you may literally get 4-5 cubes of fish in each scoop, which is pretty sad. For the same price, you can get a much larger bowl at FOB. The other weird thing about this place is that they require you to have their house sauce. I mean, it would be weird to not get sauce, but the fact that they refuse to serve you without it is an odd business practice, right? For the speed and convenience, they're great, but if you're looking for more variety at a cheaper price point, this probably isn't for you. Lunchtime poké for the win at this Denny Triangle location of Poke Alice! The team here really knows how to be efficient and keep them very long line moving. From a value standpoint, I find that I'd rather order the large and save half for lunch the next day, in order to maximize my fish choices and also try to be a little bit more cost-effective. I usually go with half kale and half brown rice, but they have a lot of base options. The small gives you just two scoops of fish so I usually go for the medium or large so I can have more variety. I really like the spicy crab instead of the regular crab, but if you're not a huge fan of space I might skip it or go light on the spicy sauce in addition to the spicy crab. Extra props to this place because of their amazing topping choices usually it's hard for me to not go overboard but I really like the options of fresh mango, cilantro, and seaweed salad. I had aloha crunch bowl on Tuesday afternoon and immediately afterwards I began having allergic reactions. Fingers were swollen, red, painful and itchy. Being a regular customer at this place, I was surprised and thought it would go away quickly. I was wrong --- it got worse the second day! Came here on a Wednesday night, and they we're not busy at all. I didn't look at the menu very carefully, but it looks like they focus more on build your own bowl. I ordered the large tuna bowl. Came here to pick up my lunch via MealPal. I was given a container from a counter top where bunch of containers were sitting. I get it, it's probably efficient to make lunch bowls in batches. But then they were sitting on a counter top with no refrigeration! When I asked when it was made, I was told - oh recently! But there is no time stamp on when a bowl was made. Mine was smelling fine though, so I took it since it was prepaid and it would be too much hassle to cancel my reservation.
