We heard that they had a great burger, so couldn't wait to try it and the rumors were right. The burger was delicious. What we didn't know is how good the fries were. It makes me rethink all the fries that I've had lately. I don't even know why I've bothered, they've just filled my tummy. These fries were delicious. We enjoyed a couple great cocktails and I had a yummy nut brown ale that was made in a healthy way I guess so I didn't get the headache that beers usually give me. The steak salad dressing was really good. The steak was a little chewy but otherwise the portion was fair and it was tasty. Id be willing to try other dishes here but i don't know if id be able to order anything but the burger.

I decided on the Veggie Monster omelet, which came with a choice of grits or hash browns and toast. I opted for the hash browns, and asked for them to be well done, because in Seattle, they serve hash browns undercooked. The omelet was good, though it lacked flavor and was a little light on cheese. The hash browns were crispy on the top, and raw underneath. Tip: if you ever order breakfast in Seattle, ask for the hash browns to be cooked on both sides. The meal was filling and was accompanied by a cup of good coffee. The waitress was super friendly and came by often to refill my coffee. Overall, this is a decent place to grab breakfast, and I'd recommend it to anyone in West Seattle.

Just moved over to West Seattle and I always love To find…read morenew coffee, breakfast spots! I came across The Birdhouse. This a walk-up counter spot. Seating out side but no inside. They are known for their breakfast sandwiches. They have breakfast and regular sandwiches. I got a "build your own" with sausage egg avocado tomatoe on a brioche bun. It was delicious. They also have this fire cracker sauce which I loved. Next time I come I want to try and regular sandwich or the salmon bagel. One of my new fav spots in west Seattle. Come check them Out.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I got the iced Cardi B (a latte with house-made…read morecardamom brown sugar syrup with espresso and almond milk) and my fiance an iced mocha. The first sip of the Cardi B, my eyes rolled back, and I nodded to how good it was. It's not too sweet (I ordered all of this online on their website for pick up and was not able to ask for it half sweet, but glad they didn't over-sweeten it). The cardamom flavor is prominent, so if you don't like that flavor, I'd choose something else. I also ordered some breakfast items. I got the Lil' Verda, which is a breakfast burrito on a flour tortilla with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, avocado, and salsa verde ( I also added sausage to it). It's pretty tasty! It's a big burrito for being on a medium flour tortilla. I got the fiancé a breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun (you can choose what bread you want; they even have gluten-free) that came with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and I added bacon for him (adding a meat was only $2, which is reasonable). As I said, I pre-ordered everything on their online ordering system. My order was ready when I got there as promised. The staff member who helped me was super nice and pointed out where the hot sauce (Tapatio) and straws were. They do have separate windows for ordering and pickup. If you order online, just head to the pick-up window. It is a little spendy (breakfast sandwich w/ added meat $10.75, burrito w/ added sausage $12.75, and two espresso drinks at roughly $8 and some change), however, everything is going up in price (Gas is up to $5.09 +), so take that as you will. Overall, it's a cute little spot nestled in a neighborhood. There is street parking, but it's in an area that isn't too hard to find parking, as it is further away from the very busy spots of West Seattle. I'd come back, perhaps take the fiancée there so we can enjoy it fresh.

I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.

Truthfully I had never heard of it but the menu sounded delicious so we gave the go ahead. It's in a cute area of West Seattle that I haven't really explored much. It was easy to find and there was ample parking around the building. We also discovered the cutest bar across the street afterwards (shoutout West Admiral Pub!) after, so it was the perfect spot for a leisurely Sunday brunch. The inside is light, bright, and airy. Natural light made it feel really refreshing and welcoming. I loved all of the plants too! I don't have a green thumb so I appreciate spots that are able to incorporate greenery into their everyday decor successfully. I'm a sucker for corned beef so I was stoked to see a Corned Beef Benedict on the menu. It comes with slow roasted beef brisket, sauerkraut, egg, thousand island hollandaise, grand central sourdough, and herbed skillet potato. My GOOOOODNESS. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was so freakin good! The corned beef was cooked to perfection and that thousand island hollandaise!? Insane. So unique and was SO delicious. Highly highly recommend. We aren't in there area often but when and if we are for whatever reason, we would definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

I loved the Spring Garden Benedict, the charred asparagus, radish and tarragon hollandaise were amazing. I replaced potatoes with fruit bowl, the fruit was some of the freshest fruit we have gotten with brunch. The Pork Belly Benedict was also good. We will be back soon.

When you enter the restaurant, the kiosk is front and center, and you place your order on the touch screens. There are typically 4 types of pasta to choose from, and about 4 sauces. There are salads and sides that you can add to the pasta. I love burrata, and so that was my add-on. The kitchen is always in full swing, with lots of activity, and is open to the public for viewing as they prepare meals. When your meal/order is ready, your name appears on the screen, and one of the employees calls your name. Seating is available after you place your order, and water is self-service as well. I love the cost-reducing atmosphere of the place. The place is well lit, and the staff is pleasant and helpful. I had pesto sauce with spaghetti and a salad. The pasta was supposed to be al dente, but came to the table cold, with a bit of a crunch and a sticky-to-the-tooth texture. This really did take away from the meal. The burrata was okay, but it seemed to be better prepared when they first opened. Again, this is a place I have come to look forward to, and I enjoyed the previous menu. Also, the website menu does not match the in-store menu at all. Because I love the neighborhood vibe of the place and the no-nonsense model they use, I have to go back to see if they can recapture what got my attention when they first opened. My only advice is to prepare the pasta as advertised.
