This was our first time to Duck & Dumpling, as well as trying Peking Duck, and it exceeded our expectations. The duck, shrimp & pork & chive potstickers, and the chicken fried rice was delightful. Coupled with a Thai tea and mango tea...wow! The service was great, too, and it was a clean & tidy restaurant. It was a special meal, and a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

One of the best places for peking duck! The skin was so crispy and the duck soup that came with it was very savory. Our favorite dish, however, was the eggplant and minced pork noodles. It was SO addicting and the noodles were perfectly al dente. The only dish we regretted getting was the beef spicy and sour dumplings-- the skin was a bit too thick. We're definitely going to go back to try their beef soup noodles! All the portions were large that our lovely waitress made sure we had plenty of boxes to take our leftovers home.

Been thinking about duck for a while and this place did not disappoint. Mustard sauce really compliments that juice and fat. Duck soup was very flavorful. I'll pass on the Dumplings, guess I'm not a fan of curry. My daughter enjoyed the Chow Mein. The service was stellar. Five stars for that alone. Quiet and quaint establishment just like I like it. Mom and pops vibe all the way.

We went to Duck & Dumpling mainly for the Peking Duck. We ordered a full duck and they brought out half at a time. The duck was juicy, pancakes were decent, and garnishes/condiments were nice. I didn't think it was mind-blowing delicious, though. Green beans were the best dish of the night as I kept going back for more. Dumplings were plump and filling (Curry Potato Dumplings were interesting). Spicy Chicken got spicier as you eat it but not up front. There's a call button at the table so that was nice in case the servers didn't come around for a while.

We went to this place for dinner. Decor, wall drawings, and overall environment are really cute. The service was also very good.We ordered the pork steamed dumplings and combo chow mein. The food was decent overall: the chow mein was a bit too oily, and while the dumplings were fresh, they weren't anything particularly special.

Had a great date night here! Tried the duck and the beef and pork steamed dumplings. The duck is amazing! Definitely not filling enough on its own thought so I would get some dumplings to go with it. I also appreciate the soup that comes with the duck. The pork dumplings were my favorite of the two. We also got their chocolate dumplings for dessert which were fun to try! The servers are not attentive on their own, but there is a small button on your table that you can press and they will come right away so just be sure to do that if you need anything!

Such a great new spot! We ordered the xialongbao, szechuan tantan noodles, shrimp & pork spicy wontons, stir fried green beans, spicy & crispy chicken and of course we had to try the duck so we ordered the half duck with duck broth soup. The soup was perfect, tasted good and was good to start off the meal. The half duck with the toppings was so delicious! The duck was perfectly cooked and the skin was crunchy and tasted great! The stir fried green beans were perfection, and the spicy & crispy chicken was amazing but definitely had a kick to them! Everything we got was fantastic and would get it all again. The service was great and easy to get a hold of staff with the button on the table. The ambiance was lively and nice. Everything was clean and the tables weren't super close to one another which I appreciate. 10/10 for everything...will be back soon!

Since Tian Tian moved to Austin, there are a few peking duck places popping up in plano. I havent tried lu lu modern yet but their duck looks bigger than this place. I ordered half a peking duck, described for 3 on their menu. That fed one person. It was not enough, unsure if they didnt give me half because it looked a lot less than half. Maybe it can feed three if you ordered other food but thats misleading. Service was also slow, I called to go order and they said it would be ready in 10-15 mins, I waited for 25 mins. Half a duck came with soup, scallion, duck sauce, pancakes, and cucumbers for $34. Update: looking at other pictures of half duck. I know for sure they did not give me half a duck. I had five pieces of meat. I reached out to them on instagram and they asked me to come back so they'll cut half a duck in front of me to prove they didn't rip me off. First of all, don't gaslight me. You gave me less on Friday judging by what other people got. If I come in, you'll just cut an actual half a duck and make me pay for it again then I can't say you gave me less before. It doesn't prove that you didn't give me less before. Update after the business owner rude respond. Between the two of us, the one insulting is you the business owner. You need to learn how to customer service. Let me stoop to your level and treat you the same way you treat your customers. If you're able to count right, skin does not count as meat. If you can read and comprehend right I clearly said you offered me to come back so you'll actually carve half a duck in front of me. Thank you for proving that you're slow. Let me repeat myself since you didnt comprehend the first time. Me coming in again doesn't prove that you didn't give me half a duck before. I went to Lu Lu modern and we got two plates full of meat when we ordered a full duck. You did not give me half a duck, stingy! Judging by other pictures from other people, you did not give me half duck. Stop arguing with me and go focus on serving your customers. Focus your energy on running your business better bc you suck at it. Maybe go read a book so you can read and comprehend

Wow! Maybe our new favorite place for Peking duck and Xiao long bao!! First, it's a new place so everything was nice and clean. The staff was mostly attentive and you have a button at the table if you need to call anyone. The food was all excellent! + Peking duck was nice and crispy with thin pancakes + Xialong bao were packed with meat and soup + Potstickers were plump and juicy too + Green beans were good = Eggplant noodles but were a little heavy on the 5 spice = Woodear mushrooms were a bit spicy Overall, highly recommend!

We came here for lunch on a Sunday and waited 45 minutes. Service was okay, everyone was really nice but they need more servers. I had to get bowls, to-go containers and bags on my own because they were taking too long. The food was really good though! We ordered the whole duck, bok choy with mushrooms, pork xiao long bao, spicy and crispy chicken, chicken fried rice, and the spicy braised beef noodle soup. The fried rice and the duck were my favorite. Parking is easy, kiosks inside for to-go orders but I don't believe you can order the duck to-go. Definitely will return.

I've been meaning to stop by this place for quite some time! We decided to drop by on a Friday evening. The restaurant is pretty large and has 2 dining areas. By the time we were leaving (around 6:45 PM), both areas were pretty full. Service was quick and friendly. I loved that there is a button on the table to request your server! It makes things so much quicker and convenient. The food was good! My husband and I ordered the half duck (comes with complimentary duck soup), pork soup dumplings, and string beans with minced pork (comes with 1 bowl of rice). Overall, we liked every dish. The soup dumplings were really good. The duck was okay, but it was a bit too fatty for me personally and did not have as much flavor as I'd like! The thin wraps (pancakes) stuck together, and I wasn't sure if it was because it wasn't fresh or if it wasn't prepared properly. The duck soup was fine, but because the duck itself didn't have a ton of flavor, I felt the soup fell flat. We both enjoyed the minced pork and string beans. Overall, pretty good for their soft opening!

We came here (party of 2) at 5pm on a Sunday. We were very excited since we loved Bamboo House, which is what Duck & Dumpling took over. Service was quick and polite, no complaints there. However we sadly were disappointed with the food. The duck was okay taste wise, but some texture issues - much too fatty, skin not crispy enough, and definitely skimped on the portion side. Previously we could order the half duck with surplus meat so we'd (happily) order more pancakes. Today the duck amount was visibly smaller than before, and we ran out of meat quickly. We also ordered the shrimp and pork wonton soup (not pictured) and the pan fried soup dumpling. The "soup" tasted like boiled water with a dash of soy sauce, and the wontons themselves strangely tasted like nothing, definitely some of the worst wontons we've had. The pan fried bao made up for the previous dishes. These were crispy on the bottom and had plentiful soup inside, so I enjoyed them. Overall this was a 3/10 experience if you're familiar with peking duck. so we sadly will be looking for another spot that offers the taste we're looking for.

used to be bamboo house, but they really pared their menu down a BUNCH to just mostly serve....duck and dumplings. we ordered...duck and dumplings lol!!! as someone who doesn't usually like peking duck, this was not bad. Skin was crispy and served with all the fixings (crepes at this place). I wish the duck was slightly warmer, but bonus is that you don't have to call and reserve the duck in advance. Also comes with a soup, which was my favorite duck soup that has been served on the side at other peking duck restaurants. This soup was clear with napa cabbage, duck bones and tofu. Really refreshing and cleansing. Loved eating it with scoops of plain rice. We also got pan fried bottom mini pork dumplings, which were alright. I'm used to a bigger dumpling with more soup (this was also not that hot, kind of lukewarm). Price was kind of high for how small the portion size was. I do miss the yogurt that bamboo house had though :( read more

The place is beautiful with a lot of windows. Everything is spotlessly clean. I enjoyed lunch having Dandan Mian noodles and shrimp and pork soup dumplings. They were fantastic. The noodles and dumpling skin is freshly made and the taste was on point. Two friendly servers helped me get my order in. I would highly recommend this place. read more

*Note: this is a soft opening so I hope to come back once it is open officially* This is the restaurant that took over Bamboo House, which was a restaurant I loved to go to! Initial thoughts: menu is much, much slimmer than before. There were a lot of staple items that we loved that aren't offered anymore. The other note about the menu is that, other than duck and dumplings, much of the menu is very western-influenced (e.g., crab rangoons, orange chicken, etc). Take it how you will haha. Well, the overall experience was fine, but we came to eat duck and they ran out. We came around 8pm when the restaurant closed at 9pm. Maybe the advice is to come earlier next time? We got xlbs (xiao long bao/soup dumplings) as well. Skin was good - no breakage and it was thin (there are a ton of xlb places with terrible/fat skin). Verdict: it's not bad, but the soup in the soup dumplings has a strong sesame oil and white pepper taste, which overwhelmed the soup dumpling a bit and is not the authentic flavor. Better xlbs: Shanghai Taste in Plano. Overall, not too bad but not the best. We also got the beef noodle soup! Soup was a bit salty and the beef was okay - some parts were tough and some parts were tender. Noodles were pretty good! Better beef noodle soup: King's Noodle in Richardson and Taipei Station Cafe in Plano. The dry noodle with pork and eggplant was solid though! I'd like to come back and order a few different items and the duck in the hopes that it's better next time! read more

Our party of 4 ate here during soft opening, and was thoroughly disappointed at the removal of some menu items - this made the menu feel rather limiting. Service was prompt for the most part, though we were brought incorrect dishes on two separate occasions. We also ordered the Peking duck, which arrived nearly half an hour after the first dish, and felt overcooked. The rest of the food was decent, slightly over salted. read more

Great experience! The service was exceptional - friendly and helpful. If you need extra help, it's easy to ring a bell to request service. Much better than trying to wave someone down to get their attention. And the food stood out. Xiao long bao was much bigger than at Din Tai Fung, and the soup in the dumpling was plentiful and tasty. Peking duck came with all the fixings. Duck was boneless and easy to use in the wrappers. All the bones were used in a very rich broth which they served us with veggies and tofu and some duck with bones. The soup was very good. I liked the green beans - the garlic popped. It was possibly cooked with black beans and maybe a shrimp paste? Fried rice looked just like at Din Tai Fung, except that it wasn't shaped like a bowl. It was good - similar to DTF. And good atmosphere - tall ceilings, ample tables, sufficient lighting. read more

We tried a wide array of food this evening from soup dumplings, curry potstickers, hot and sour dumplings to egg rolls, fried rice, noodle dishes and General Tso's. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We finished the meal with chocolate dumplings which were the perfect ending to an amazing meal. read more

We came on Christmas 2025 and ordered pork Xiao long bao, egg and tomato noodles, pan fried bok choy and mushroom dumplings, stir fried green beans, shrimp paste boiled dumplings and the half duck. The duck is as good as it was previously despite the change in ownership. Pan fried dumplings were plump and flavorful. Egg and tomato noodles had a nice chew but the green beans were a little too salty. Shrimp paste dumplings were a bit disappointing since it was not very flavorful and very one dimensional. Overall it's a solid experience and just as good as it was before. read more

We had dinner at Duck and Dumpling on Christmas Eve 2025 and the experience was exceptional. The atmosphere is casual, as are the prices. The portions are large, especially considering the pricing. We have lived in the metroplex for over 40 years and have eaten at all of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. Even at the higher end restaurants there are only a few dishes that we feel are outstanding - that we order over and over again. But 6 of us ordered the 10 dishes listed below (we took a lot home) and found all of them to be excellent. The true surprise, though was the Peking Duck. It was the closest I have had yet to the best I had in China - 98% crispy skin - very little meat, and almost no fat (except for the glistening, crispy skin). It appears to me that restaurants generally feel that people will object if there isn't a substantial amount of meat served with the skin - but that isn't a true Peking Duck. We all had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner and look forward to going back. I just hope we'll still be able to get in. The only things I would like to see changed are the ability to get real tableware (not plastic) for those who do not use chopsticks, and real glasses (for those of us who bring our own wine) instead of the plastic glasses they provide. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.

I went to duck & dumping during the Christmas season and really appreciate the service and food there. Their roast duck is the best. I was surprised that I can find some traditional roast duck in the area. Their waiters and waitresses are all very friendly and helpful. I left a lot of tips for them because they deserve. As she was packing the food, she forgot the rice, I had ask for it. After waiting for so long, she had the audacity to ask for my order number to confirm because she said sometimes there's multiple orders of the same name. If that was needed, shouldn't she confirm that before she went to the back to check on my order? I asked how many online order she had, she said one. Oh really, there cant be a mix up if you only have ONE ONLINE ORDER, what logic is that? just pissing me off for no reason. Also, how would I know where to find order number? I ordered through chowbus and it texted me the receipt. I pulled up the text and she saw the order number to confirm but she kept yapping. I had to cut her off to leave because I was hungry and she took long enough. People just cant work with urgency when you're hangry and in a rush to get home to eat.

We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.
