I love the space and the customer service~ You can tell that the owners really love design/art as well as their food. Especially as an illustrator, I really appreciate the details in the interior design & their food presentation. This is the perfect spot if you're not into super sugary beverages. I feel like it preserves the integrity of the coffee/matcha bc of it. (You can always ask to get drinks sweeter tho to your liking). My favorite out of all the things I ordered though was the banana bread OMG it was so moist and a thick slice which I loveeee~ (I took a bite before my pic & you can tell ITS GOOD. I'm quite picky with banana bread) I met the owner Mike & I was told his mom makes the banana bread! (So you know it's the actual good stuff) I got the first two sandwiches off the menu for food (wake & bacon + big hot mess) both were filling & savory. I brought some for my sister and she devoured the wake&bacon so fast she barley left a bite for me I would say this is the perfect aesthetic place to study or work & grab a snack. 10/10 would recommend & will definitely be back to try more of their menu
Dreamwave is absolutely the best coffee in North County! The coffee is strong and full of flavor. I actually brought my Dreamwave coffee to a hair salon the other day and no joke, everyone asked where I got the coffee as it smelled amazing! This is the place to go where your money is well spent: you get amazing and tasty coffee that truly makes a difference in your day. I get a 12 oz iced oat milk latte and it's fantastic. Sometimes simplicity is where it's at! Also, pick up some of the banana bread! So good. The vibes inside are chill with eye catching art work and even an old school Street Fighter game to play. This is also a great one to bring if you have kids as they have a pretend coffee station and books to entertain little ones. Everyone who works there is super nice and overall, it's a great and welcoming environment. Dreamwave is the best!
Amazing ambiance, fast and friendly service, good coffee, great matcha, great chipotle breakfast sandwich!! Loved this place and will definitely be back. P.S. their drinks tend to fall on the less sweet side -- if you want it sweet, be sure to state that :)
This coffee shop is what dreams are made of - seriously. They've perfected the formula. Friendly people, amazing vibes for people of all ages, and incredible coffee. Mike and the entire team at Dreamwave are doing such an incredible job of making the experience worth every penny. The quality of the coffee, the work they do, and the service they provide is truly top tier. While they do have a lot of fun flavors, this is not the kind of place that drowns the palate with sweetness. They expertly balance the ratio of syrup, milk, and espresso to provide the best outcome. The nuttiness of their roast really shines, and they're always happy to adjust the sweetness if you need them to. Personally, I love the lower sweetness level being the default. These guys know what they're doing! We've been visiting for the past week and have stopped through Dreamwave four times this week. While I'm always in the need of a coffee fix, we've gone out of our way to visit multiple times because the people have been so beyond kind. We've sampled most of the house flavors and I can confidently say they have all been delicious. This would definitely be my go-to shop if I lived nearby.
First time visiting and it was quite busy. When I got to the counter the owner Mike greeted me and explained the menu to me and a little bit about his coffee. He was super friendly and had good vibes. I ordered a Horchata latte and a banana bread. Mike hooked it up with a free cookie too. I didn't wait long before I got my drink. The decor is awesome, it give off '90s vibes There's some small tables on the inside but I decided to sit outside there's some bigger picnic tables. The latte was good not much horchata flavor but the espresso was really good. The banana bread and cookie were so good! Highly recommend. Overall 10/10.
A must-stop for a great coffee, cozy vibes, and super friendly service. Traveling with my mom-so it takes a bit of time- the barista that helped us was patient, sweet and super kind to her (us). I had the silly old bear- 16 oz. It was perfectly smooth, just sweet enough and super enjoyable. The quad shots got me through the of first day vacation. We will be returning!
Came on a Saturday morning they were super busy. The cashier seemed super flustered and their espresso machine was broken :( so I got a cold brew and took me and my dog outside and guessed when they would call my name or even look my way to let me know if my order was ready. Got a banana bread and that was pretty good. Just wish they could work on their service a little bit more. I also requested for a dog treat ended up not getting that either but again they were busy so maybe either they need more people working? Overall the café seemed really cute inside and I was tempted to try some of their warm food but glad I didn't because I don't know when I was gonna get it's giving cute hipster vibes from a college town, which is really nice. I liked all the decorations inside too.
As an out of towner, my first experience at Dreamwave Coffee was everything I hoped for. Most importantly, the coffee was delicious, but what surprised us the most is how reasonably the prices were. To top it off, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere/aesthetics were top notch. We ordered an iced 12oz of the High Tide (Coconut + Vanilla) and a Vanilla Latte. The coconut flavor was VERY mild, but still enjoyable and the latte was solid. If we hadn't eaten breakfast earlier in the morning, we definitely would've eaten here. It smelled more like diner than a coffee shop with the seductive scent of bacon filling the small space. Dreamwave Coffee is a charming coffee shop that deserves to be on your morning hit list!
Cute cafe with interesting menu items! It had a cute aesthetic and everyone was super friendly.
Came here for the Elite event. So good! Just down the road from my house. Walked in and was pleasantly greeted with a smile and good morning. Everyone in the shop was kind and friendly even with them being busy! The coffee was actually delicious (unlike those mainstream places) as was the breakfast sando. I'll definitely be back to this groovy little coffee shop. Oh! Also picked up this little hand knit Koozie as a gift for someone:)
What a cute spot tucked in this shopping center! We ordered an iced high tide latte (coconut vanilla) and the wake & bacon sandwich. The syrups and sauces are made in-house, and you could totally taste the difference - I have to ask for extra chipotle sauce next time! My drink was perfectly sweet and creamy, and the employees were so kind and generous, even with the crazy line this morning. I'll be back to try the honey cinnamon latte :))
I absolutely love this adorable coffee shop. It's located on El Camino Real in the CVS shopping center. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The tables are very cute in pink with scallop edging. They serve regular coffee as well as specialty drinks and simple breakfast. I like the Silly Old Bear because it has honey and cinnamon. I always order hot coffee. Oddly, it was served not very hot. I would call it lukewarm. That was my only complaint. Everything else was wonderful. They even sell their own merch, which is really cute.
The wife wanted a breakfast sandwich and we found this little cute spot in Carlsbad. First walking in, cute little store, was a little busy so you know it's good. They sell swag as well if you're interested. I ordered the wake and bacon sandwich, the person taking my order was super nice and sure to explain to me about any questions like what the drip coffee of the day was. My coffee came out pretty quick and it was hot, had to blow into the top a few tops to make sure I didn't burn my mouth. After a few moments my food came out after. Took a quick picture outside with my coffee, then took a bite. The bun wasn't over cooked or hard and the bacon was pretty good with the cheddar. Overall service was good, about 4-5 people working and constantly making food and drinks. The establishment was overall clean and I even saw a little kid station that young ones could pretend to be a barista. Overall happy with the service, coffee tasted great and food was yum! Drop by if you're in the area, won't be disappointed.
I AM OBSESSED. This new spot opened up in Carlsbad, CA in the Vons shopping center off El Camino and let me tell you... it's my new go-to. Not only is it an absolute VIBE in there with nostalgic decor and some trippy murals (I live for that stuff), but the coffee is INCREDIBLE. The owner, Mike, is such a solid dude -- so kind and just genuinely happy to be there. He roasts all his own coffee and recommended the Dream and High Tide lattes. We obviously ordered both of them and they were delicious! The dream is a macadamia nit latte which was robust and flavorful. The high tide was a vanilla coconut latte which was not overpowering and really delightful. Neither latte was overly sweet, and all the syrups are made in-house which you can taste. Quality coffee, great price point and friendly, awesome vibes! Oh and... support your local coffee shops, PLEASE! read more

First time to this coffee shop and it is quite a hidden gem! Really friendly & helpful employees + 10/10 drinks!! Will definitely be back! read more
If you're into good coffee, tasty eats, and nostalgia, Dreamwave Coffee is your new go-to. The food and drinks? Legit. HIGHLY recommend The Dream, which is the macadamia nut latte iced and a Big Hot Mess sando, which is honestly neither hot nor messy, but delicious nonetheless. I'm definitely coming back for the Oreo Freezewave next time, Great vibes all around for the staff and ambiance. They even have Streetfighter playable on an old school tv. You really can't beat it! read more

I found Dreamwave through Yelp and visited while I was in Carlsbad. I originally went because I wanted to try the horchata latte, but I decided to try the silly old bear instead. I enjoyed the honey cinnamon flavor of the iced latte. The breakfast sandwich options sounded amazing. They also had some fun sounding drinks like the banana bread latte. The employees were friendly and greeted us upon entering. The vibe inside the shop is inviting and fun artwork. I had a great visit at Dreamwave! read more
Dreamwave coffee is such a cute find! It's right near the Carlsbad mall so if you need to power up for some shopping, stop by and get one of their amazing lattes! I had a Horchata Latte and I loved the cinnamon flavors in there. I also had a Crème de Pistachio Vegan chia pudding out of their display case and it was really good! They also carry Gluten free donuts from The Goods which is one of my favorites and they have a kids corner and cool designs on the walls and merchandise as well that were designed by the owner. The staff was really friendly and helpful and answered a lot of my questions. Totally worth a visit to this cute coffee shop IMO read more
@Dreamwave Coffee delivers above and beyond on its design, service, food and beverages. As you enter the coffee shop, customers are treated to retro eclectic design and decor that was thoughtfully planned and executed. The service rendered did not disappoint. The presentation and taste of the iced pumpkin latte made with oat milk and sweet perfection was a tantalizing treat. read more
Went here earlier on an errand run and stopped by. I ordered an iced chai latte and a bagel and dream cheese. They were both really good. The service was great and fast. Nice little coffee shop with a small kids play area read more
Cute little coffee shop located where coffee bean used to be. Lots of unique curated coffees as well as the standard regulars. Super nice staff very helpful and knowledgeable. There's a great patio outside with round tables that would seat up to eight and really pretty plants inside galvanized bins. Seating inside is plentiful, with kind of a quirky ambience. Come and give him a try! read more

Quick service. Got an iced coconut vanilla latte. Coconut flavor was slightly too much for my taste. Lot of offerings tho otherwise. Half debated getting one of their thermos mugs because of the art work being cool. Baristas were friendly, 4-5 tables to sit at inside. read more

Cute new little nostalgic coffee shop! My kiddos had so much fun playing street fighter! They make sodas with their homemade syrups. My kids loved them. Coffee was great and staff was very nice. Incredible service by the owner and all staff. Everyone is really friendly. They roast their own beans in Mission Valley and the love of the craft shows in the product. I got The Dream- a macadamia nut latte. Perfectly balanced, not sweet, just magical. My friend took a recommendation to get a matcha with the coconut vanilla syrup. She loved it. We got the Bagel & Dream Cheese and the Wake & Bacon, both were tasty we loved the cream cheese so much. While waiting for our coffee there was a retro Nintendo game for us to play. Super intentional and awesome space, hope to be back soon! Overall, please come and support this local shop doing everything right read more

I just want to say , DREAMWAVE COFEE IS HOME to me . I say that because not only does the baristas make the tastiest specialty coffee but they make you feel like family . I am very picky when it comes to quality coffee & they get it right EVERY TIME! I go there almost daily with my dogs Bella & Maya .. right when I walk in they greet me by my first name , know my order & have a treat already waiting for my fur babies . Allie, lex , Jessica & Christina are the best baristas hands down . They also have a cool artsy ambiance. Check them out you won't be disappointed! read more

My family and I had a wonderful experience here! We're always on the lookout for locally owned businesses and coffee roasters in our area and this one didn't miss. The coffee was incredible - I personally enjoyed the macadamia nut latte and they were able to make it 1/2 decaf, which I've been drinking pregnant. My husband enjoyed their roasted, fresh brewed coffee and I tried it and enjoyed the smooth taste, too! Another thing we appreciated was the little kiddo corner, game and board books. It was the right amount of activity to keep our 2 and almost 3 year old interested while we enjoyed our coffees. And made us feel more than welcome with our little ones, which can be hard to come by! We already look forward to our next visit - thanks for creating such a great space and vibe for our family to enjoy. read more

As someone who appreciates supporting local businesses, especially as a first time customer, I was genuinely impressed by the vibes of the place. So cozy & retro. And of course, the owner just so happened to be the first person I meet. Mike's customer service was top notch! Very welcoming to both new and frequent customers, super helpful in explaining the various menu options, and overall makes one feel right at home. He was a good conversationalist and very knowledgeable not only about his business, but also his craft. As a boss, he praises his staff and boasts about their skills. The staff themselves (I was only able to remember Andrew's name) were so nice, friendly, and really take pride in their work. What I ended up ordering was a hot decaf latte that tasted like a warm hug, an iced matcha latte with a unique sugar-free syrup that I've never tasted before which paired really well, and the big hot mess sandwich that's the perfect level of savory & spicy. Overall, I enjoyed my experience that I wished I had stayed longer. So, if you're ever in the area, I highly recommend coming here and enjoy either a drink or a meal. Keep it up, Dreamwave Coffee, I look forward to visiting again someday! read more

Found this shop because I needed coffee and decided to stop in Carlsbad, Loved the interior of the shop, felt like a great lowkey dream sequence vibe. It reminded me of the Dreamland album by Glass Animals. The baristas were so helpful, nice, kind and sweet! Belle and the other 2 girls whose names I didn't catch because I was in a slight rush driving back to OC! Hope they enjoyed the Pokémon cards to give to kids who visit the shop (see y'all in October if you 3 read this haha) Had The Dream, not bad but not a strong drink if you're looking for a kick. More of a sipping drink. read more

It was my boyfriend and I's first visit here and we had an INCREDIBLE experience, coffee was amazing and all their syrups are house-made, making it all 10x better. 5/5 stars! My first time in and Jessica was so lovely she walked me through all the homemade syrups, explained how the matcha is ceremonial grade, all the beans are roasted in house, and even the cream cheese flavors are made in house. The matcha is easily the best I've had in all of San Diego and I've been to many many places! I love the vibe and atmosphere, truly a hidden gem. Great service and product. read more

Dreamwave Coffee is a total standout. Lex made my drink, and it was honestly some of the best-tasting coffee I've ever had. If you're a fan of a strong, bold drink, this is definitely your spot. It is clear that the owner is incredibly passionate about the craft; that level of care shows in every sip and bite of the final product. Truly amazing quality--highly recommended! read more

I was first introduced this place through a Yelp Elite experience and couldn't wait to return. It's located a little further from me for a daily routine but worth checking out when in the area - across in the center north of the mall. Great unique blend of coffee they curate and their espressos are really good - my staple an Americano was spot on and hit the spot. This is all balanced out with super friendly staff read more

Thanks so much for coming back, Dan! :)
It is clear why this coffee shop has such a high rating. I asked the barista for a recommendation and she recommended I try the the Home run latte which is orange cinnamon flavor. Originally I wasn't going to pick that one out but I decided to try it and I'm so glad I did, it was 10/10, so good! The orange really adds a unique but amazing flavor! I also got the Bagle and dream cheese which is a Bagle with honey walnut cream cheese with orange zest. I was a little skeptical at first but wow I have never had cream cheese like that before it was amazing! Others in my group got the Wake & Bacon which they said was also great which had a a house made Chipotle sauce that wasn't spicy but had a nice zest to it. The virtu bowl was a prepackaged pistachio, chia seed yogurt bowl which has 25g of protein and was very yummy, light, and fluffy. We also tried the dream latte which was great too. I'd say this is a must visit spot in Carlsbad. read more
