I love the space and the customer service~ You can tell that the owners really love design/art as well as their food. Especially as an illustrator, I really appreciate the details in the interior design & their food presentation. This is the perfect spot if you're not into super sugary beverages. I feel like it preserves the integrity of the coffee/matcha bc of it. (You can always ask to get drinks sweeter tho to your liking). My favorite out of all the things I ordered though was the banana bread OMG it was so moist and a thick slice which I loveeee~ (I took a bite before my pic & you can tell ITS GOOD. I'm quite picky with banana bread) I met the owner Mike & I was told his mom makes the banana bread! (So you know it's the actual good stuff) I got the first two sandwiches off the menu for food (wake & bacon + big hot mess) both were filling & savory. I brought some for my sister and she devoured the wake&bacon so fast she barley left a bite for me I would say this is the perfect aesthetic place to study or work & grab a snack. 10/10 would recommend & will definitely be back to try more of their menu
Dreamwave is absolutely the best coffee in North County! The coffee is strong and full of flavor. I actually brought my Dreamwave coffee to a hair salon the other day and no joke, everyone asked where I got the coffee as it smelled amazing! This is the place to go where your money is well spent: you get amazing and tasty coffee that truly makes a difference in your day. I get a 12 oz iced oat milk latte and it's fantastic. Sometimes simplicity is where it's at! Also, pick up some of the banana bread! So good. The vibes inside are chill with eye catching art work and even an old school Street Fighter game to play. This is also a great one to bring if you have kids as they have a pretend coffee station and books to entertain little ones. Everyone who works there is super nice and overall, it's a great and welcoming environment. Dreamwave is the best!
Amazing ambiance, fast and friendly service, good coffee, great matcha, great chipotle breakfast sandwich!! Loved this place and will definitely be back. P.S. their drinks tend to fall on the less sweet side -- if you want it sweet, be sure to state that :)
This coffee shop is what dreams are made of - seriously. They've perfected the formula. Friendly people, amazing vibes for people of all ages, and incredible coffee. Mike and the entire team at Dreamwave are doing such an incredible job of making the experience worth every penny. The quality of the coffee, the work they do, and the service they provide is truly top tier. While they do have a lot of fun flavors, this is not the kind of place that drowns the palate with sweetness. They expertly balance the ratio of syrup, milk, and espresso to provide the best outcome. The nuttiness of their roast really shines, and they're always happy to adjust the sweetness if you need them to. Personally, I love the lower sweetness level being the default. These guys know what they're doing! We've been visiting for the past week and have stopped through Dreamwave four times this week. While I'm always in the need of a coffee fix, we've gone out of our way to visit multiple times because the people have been so beyond kind. We've sampled most of the house flavors and I can confidently say they have all been delicious. This would definitely be my go-to shop if I lived nearby.
First time visiting and it was quite busy. When I got to the counter the owner Mike greeted me and explained the menu to me and a little bit about his coffee. He was super friendly and had good vibes. I ordered a Horchata latte and a banana bread. Mike hooked it up with a free cookie too. I didn't wait long before I got my drink. The decor is awesome, it give off '90s vibes There's some small tables on the inside but I decided to sit outside there's some bigger picnic tables. The latte was good not much horchata flavor but the espresso was really good. The banana bread and cookie were so good! Highly recommend. Overall 10/10.
A must-stop for a great coffee, cozy vibes, and super friendly service. Traveling with my mom-so it takes a bit of time- the barista that helped us was patient, sweet and super kind to her (us). I had the silly old bear- 16 oz. It was perfectly smooth, just sweet enough and super enjoyable. The quad shots got me through the of first day vacation. We will be returning!
Came on a Saturday morning they were super busy. The cashier seemed super flustered and their espresso machine was broken :( so I got a cold brew and took me and my dog outside and guessed when they would call my name or even look my way to let me know if my order was ready. Got a banana bread and that was pretty good. Just wish they could work on their service a little bit more. I also requested for a dog treat ended up not getting that either but again they were busy so maybe either they need more people working? Overall the café seemed really cute inside and I was tempted to try some of their warm food but glad I didn't because I don't know when I was gonna get it's giving cute hipster vibes from a college town, which is really nice. I liked all the decorations inside too.
As an out of towner, my first experience at Dreamwave Coffee was everything I hoped for. Most importantly, the coffee was delicious, but what surprised us the most is how reasonably the prices were. To top it off, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere/aesthetics were top notch. We ordered an iced 12oz of the High Tide (Coconut + Vanilla) and a Vanilla Latte. The coconut flavor was VERY mild, but still enjoyable and the latte was solid. If we hadn't eaten breakfast earlier in the morning, we definitely would've eaten here. It smelled more like diner than a coffee shop with the seductive scent of bacon filling the small space. Dreamwave Coffee is a charming coffee shop that deserves to be on your morning hit list!

Came here for the Elite event. So good! Just down the road from my house. Walked in and was pleasantly greeted with a smile and good morning. Everyone in the shop was kind and friendly even with them being busy! The coffee was actually delicious (unlike those mainstream places) as was the breakfast sando. I'll definitely be back to this groovy little coffee shop. Oh! Also picked up this little hand knit Koozie as a gift for someone:)
What a cute spot tucked in this shopping center! We ordered an iced high tide latte (coconut vanilla) and the wake & bacon sandwich. The syrups and sauces are made in-house, and you could totally taste the difference - I have to ask for extra chipotle sauce next time! My drink was perfectly sweet and creamy, and the employees were so kind and generous, even with the crazy line this morning. I'll be back to try the honey cinnamon latte :))
I absolutely love this adorable coffee shop. It's located on El Camino Real in the CVS shopping center. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The tables are very cute in pink with scallop edging. They serve regular coffee as well as specialty drinks and simple breakfast. I like the Silly Old Bear because it has honey and cinnamon. I always order hot coffee. Oddly, it was served not very hot. I would call it lukewarm. That was my only complaint. Everything else was wonderful. They even sell their own merch, which is really cute.
The wife wanted a breakfast sandwich and we found this little cute spot in Carlsbad. First walking in, cute little store, was a little busy so you know it's good. They sell swag as well if you're interested. I ordered the wake and bacon sandwich, the person taking my order was super nice and sure to explain to me about any questions like what the drip coffee of the day was. My coffee came out pretty quick and it was hot, had to blow into the top a few tops to make sure I didn't burn my mouth. After a few moments my food came out after. Took a quick picture outside with my coffee, then took a bite. The bun wasn't over cooked or hard and the bacon was pretty good with the cheddar. Overall service was good, about 4-5 people working and constantly making food and drinks. The establishment was overall clean and I even saw a little kid station that young ones could pretend to be a barista. Overall happy with the service, coffee tasted great and food was yum! Drop by if you're in the area, won't be disappointed.

Do you ever have one of those days and it's going well and then it gets even better upon a new discovery? That was the day when I arrived at Dreamwave Coffee. First, they entered the market where good coffee was sorely needed. I go to this center as they have a Dexter's a couple doors down on the regular so it is convenient. Second, when I walked through the door I was greeted by an eager and friendly staff. I don't think I've experienced this much enthusiasm (like anywhere) in a long time. It was contagious. Third, the coffee is excellent. The owner is the roaster and so you get local small batched beans and you can taste it. I shared some info on our local San Diego coffee crawls so others can get a taste too! Go here for the convenience, the friendly staff and just really good coffee. Quickie 2-Day Update: The Guatemalan and the blend here are very smooth. I gravitate towards chocolate, floral, and fruity-but-not-bright tasting notes, and these coffees delivered!! First sip in, my husband said "this tastes like chocolate" and I replied, "it has no cocoa powder in it. I'm impressed- you picked out a tasting note!" I stopped in on a whim while Cali was getting her teeth cleaned at Dexter's and let me tell you- my experience exceeded my expectations! I got to meet the owner Mike before he left for the day; he is an absolute gem of a businessman. Not only does he roast the beans himself, but he makes all of his syrups as well. I ordered a 12 ounce orange cinnamon latte, and it was very smooth and balanced. I appreciated that the drink was not overly sweet and the orange flavor popped at the backend. He gave me a pro tip: the number of shots doesn't change regardless of drink size. Meaning, a 16 ounce will be quite milky. I also left with two boxes of beans; I am so happy to support his endeavors. I overheard him telling other customers that his goal is to serve 200 people a day to break even; he's currently at about 100. Overall, I will be back and I highly recommend Dreamwave! One of the best coffee places I've ever been to! On my first visit, I spoke to the owner, Mike. He shared his passion for brewing coffee his own coffee with his business partner. I had the Wake and Bacon, which usually comes on a Kaiser roll. Unfortunately, they were all out, so I opted for it on a bagel instead. I didn't mind at all; it was still delicious. I also ordered the Dream Wave Coffee, which is definitely my very flavorful The interior recreates a retro vibe, creating a super cool and chill atmosphere. Dreamwave Coffee is such a vibe! Love the decor and the staff were so nice and helpful. I had an iced banana bread latte and the bagel with dream cheese and they were very good. The dream cheese is a honey walnut cream cheese with orange zest and it was SO good. I usually go with a savory bagel but I am so happy I switched it up because it was delicious. There were people working on their laptops, families, and people grabbing coffee on the way to work like me. They have something for everyone and I totally recommend stopping by for your next coffee! read more
Dreamwave is such a sweet little cafe! I used to be a regular at the old coffee bean that was the prior tenant of this location. While I truly miss my coffee bean, I'm so glad to see another coffee shop in this shopping center! I brought my little family on an outing to get some coffee and really enjoyed our visit. First off, the cafe is so sunny, welcoming, and airy. It was a great spot to slow down and enjoy ourselves. I ordered the horchata latte over ice with an add shot and oat milk. My hubby got the macadamia nut latte ("the dream") with an add shot and oat milk, hot. Both were tasty. I will say the horchata flavor is very light so I had to go back and ask for some more. We also didn't need that third shot as their espresso is nice and strong (for reference I typically get 3 shots in my coffees, like an americano and such). My daughter loved playing in the little kitchen area and kept bringing us books to read. The shop is very 80s alien themed with fun decor, funky murals, and unique coffee that they roast themselves. Baristas were friendly and parking was easy. We will be back! read more

Came here to redeem my coupon from a fb ad that wasn't a scam, lol. It was a buy one get one free coupon. I came here with a friend to have some breakfast as well. This place always has chill vibes. The service is nice and friendly. I got the El Santo while my friend got the dream coffee. El Santo is a housemade Horchata latte. I got mine with oat milk and it was quite good. To eat I got a big hot mess and my friend got a wake & bacon. The BIG HOT MESS has Egg, Pepper Jack, Double Sausage, housemade Hot Honey, fresh Jalapenos on a Kaiser roll. They ran out of the Kaiser rolls so they put it on a bagel instead, which I didn't mind. I like bagel sandwiches. This breakfast sandwich was pretty good, but I do like the sauce in the wake & bacon more. The big hot mess was light and fresh tasting vs the wake & bacon was more heavy and has more flavor. My friend and I do enjoy the good vibes, coffee, and breakfast Sammies. I was first introduced to this place from a Yelp event and I'm glad I went because this is a spot I enjoy coming to with my friend. read more

Very kind staff! The decor of the place is so cute-- I wish I wasn't in such a rush I would've taken pictures/chilled out there. I got the small Silly little bear latte (honey cinnamon) & let me tell you, the flavor packs a punch without being overly sweet. It a great balance of coffee and flavor. Keep in mind, all the sizes have the same amount of espresso shots (2shots) I got a small and that was the perfect amount for it! I'd probably add an extra shot to the larger sizes. read more

Dreamwave is a really hip place for specialty coffee. I love that the syrups are house-made and the decor is inspired by the 90s. That's sooo fly! It has a crazzzy fun atmosphere too. The staff are always totally rad. Sometimes, it can get a little crowded but the staff are able to manage it. I wish they had the Pumpkin Spice Latte that was posted on the wall. I reeeally wanted to try it. If an item is no longer available, I thought the info about it would be taken down. Anyway, my overall positive experience there wasn't overshadowed by this incident. I've been to this place several times and love the vibe of the interior! They have some cool artwork and even offer protein donuts. I used to come often for the Banana Bread Head latte but unfortunately they don't offer it anymore. It was so good!! I've had both the coconut vanilla latte and the macadamia nut latte here and both are excellent. Macadamia nut latte is very subtle, coconut vanilla has a very strong coconut flavor. One thing I really appreciate and I consider a staple for an excellent coffee shot is house made syrups and Dreamwave has an excellent assortment of them. The menu isn't particularly large, but they have a great selection of unique options. Everyone working there was very cordial and kind. The space is a bit small, but it has a really collect aesthetic and murals inside. There's some small tables, but for me it was a little more of a grab and go kind of establishment. Overall very good lattes, not crazy sweet and I love the uniqueness. I will definitely be back again soon. read more

While I know this coffee shop doesn't NEED this review (as they have a ton already), I'm still gonna put it up because it was such a breath of fresh air as far as coffee shops go, and I think they deserve the shout out. We were visiting Vista for our 10 Year Anniversary, and were looking for a coffee shop near our AirBnb...came across this gem on Yelp and loved the Menu. This place has plenty of parking, indoor/outdoor seating and a simple, straightforward menu! Mike (the Owner) greeted us as soon as we walked in, asked "have you guys been here before?", and got into the story about what they offer, how their drinks are "not sweet" and his Mom's Banana Bread that she makes everyday. I don't love an overly sweet drink, and decided to go with the "High Tide", as it has coconut ! My husband got a latte, and we also got the Virtu Chia Misu chia pudding parfait (delicious, but pricey). The 90's skater vibe in here is insane, and greatly appreciated! Reminds me of Sect Eye from Toy Machine, meets Nintendo! Mike and his wife have truly created something special, and the fact that you see them there, with their kids, making sure everyone's experience is nothing short of magical, leaves me thinking...could we create a similar atmosphere in Arizona? read more
I stopped by for a quick fix. Loved how they're open later than other coffee shops, they close at 5 on Saturdays. Decor is nostalgic. Felt like I was in the 90's and with the modern architecture it makes for a comforting coffee vibe atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and informative. I discovered which signature drinks are the most popular and sweetness level. They make their own syrups in-house too. I went with an Iced Macadamia Latte. It was delicious. I've had their Silly Old Bear and if you enjoy a Honey Latte, get it! In my experience...the food is a bit inconsistent. The sandwich bread from the Wake & Bacon was dry. The bread was too crunchy. However, from a separate occasion I had their Big Hot Mess and that was well made. I'll definitely be coming back to visit. I'm giving them 4 stars for their drinks, customer care, and coffee shop feel. Food area has great potential! read more

I was immediately greeted by the friendly and attentive staff here. Mike introduced himself personally and even gave some great recommendations, since it was my first time trying. I got the el Santo iced latte and it was great, not an overbearing horchata flavor and the breakfast bagel I had was amazing! 10/10 experience. Dreamwave Coffee immediately became our favorite coffee and matcha shop! We love trying everything they have to offer and nothing has ever disappointed. They have so many fun and delicious homemade syrups that can be added to any drinks. My go-to is the vanilla coconut iced matcha or the brown sugar rosemary iced matcha. Ive loved the mint julep iced matcha and macadamia nut iced matcha too, but those flavors aren't as noticeable as the first two. So if you like just subtle sweetness in each sip those last two would be perfect! I love their matcha since they do use ceremonial grade matcha. You can just tell in every sip. My husband's favorite is The Dream (Macadamia Nut Latte) and we understand why it's called The Dream. No latte even compares to it as it is just a perfectly nutty flavor, not too sweet, and you can still taste the delicious espresso. Just a fantastic balance overall. Not only are their drinks and baked goods delicious, but their vibes are immaculate. The cafe is very welcoming with fun murals, great seating, and a barista crew that loves to be there. The owner is also so nice and welcoming too! He was there for our first visit to explain everything and it was cool to hear how it all started. Great neighborhood coffee shop. Located in a shopping with lots of parking. Very unassuming from the entrance but it had a pretty amazing and unique decor. Even a little serving station for kids. Its a small place like with 5 tables, but and inviting atmosphere. Ordered a Cortado with almond mill which was perfectly made. read more

Cozy coffee and breakfast spot that's kid friendly and has kind staff. The breakfast sandwich was tasty and hot, I enjoyed it. The latte was also crafted well. It was really busy when I first got there so didn't have a proper table to sit at and eat on but if tables were open it'd be an ideal experience. Parking was easy in the lot. read more

Not only is this a cute and fun spot, the staff was welcoming, and the coffee and food are delicious. I tried the "High Tide" (coconut vanilla latte), and the "Wake and Bacon Sandwich". Both were great. Coffee was perfect, not too sweet, yet sweet enough, and a latte art on top was picture perfect. The breakfast sandwich was great. Next time I'll ask for the aïoli on the side though, since it got a little bit messy ;) Super yummy though. I'll definitely be back :) read more

I'm so glad there's a local coffee shop in this center! There's always been a bunch of coffee chains around this area so it's a nice switch up. I always prefer the homemade syrups and family feel of the local shops more. This place was no exception! I went with the extremely delicious banana bread latte. Probably my favorite banana flavored thing i've ever had! It was super creamy and caramel-y and delicious. I would definitely make the trek from South County to have this again and to try their food. Seems like a really great place run by really great people! read more
Great coffee spot, with fun unique flavors! They make their syrups in house. We got "the dream" which is a macadamia nut latte and the "home run" which is orange cinnamon flavored (it's a great combination). Both were really good! They ran out of the "El Santo" so we'll need to come back to try out the Horcata flavored latte! You can't go wrong with this place! RECOMMENCED! read more

Cute local coffee shop. A few tables inside or a 3 larger ones inside. Come for the coffee , maybe not the bagels. I was not impressed with the bagels but my iced latte was very tasty! The caramel is overpowering so if you don't want your drink too sweet maybe add less or skip it. read more

Coffee Bean got an upgrade! Here for this cutie alt coffee shop. The vibes are playful, clean, and retro. The menu has all the hits + some yummy looking breakfast items. The retro video game, the free rings for kids, the board books - kids keep busy! It's not annoyingly "kids friendly" and chaotic. It's a perfect balance of fun, minimal, while still giving parents some space to enjoy their coffee, HOT. read more
