I ordered a TGTG bag for $3.99 on 7/30/22 and got an assortment of about a dozen donuts. I picked them up around 4:30 pm, just before closing, and it was quick and easy since the bags were already pre-filled (you don't get to choose your flavors). I don't remember much about individual flavors but the donuts were all fresh and decent quality. They're not super fluffy (which is usually how I prefer donuts) but they're also not too dense. I also appreciate that they're not overly greasy. All around just a decent donut. I also liked the variety in flavors (my bag had blueberry, original glazed, chocolate, fruit loops, just to name a few). I think they hit the spot and are a very reasonable price. They're definitely not like the fancy gourmet donuts you'd find at some shops for $5 a piece, but they're reliable and better than mass chain shops like Dunkin'. read more

They have a few fancy ones here but are known primarily for being a solid donut shop with all your favorites. The apple fritter in particular is great but I loved their cruellers too. Having driven by many times, I was recently in the area and stopped by to get some donuts. It's street parking here and I parked a block away. The shop is a traditional neighborhood donut shop that also serves hot breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and eggs dishes, cold and hot drinks, snacks and lottery tickets. There are some tables inside and out front to enjoy your food. But it was donuts I was here for and the displays were in the front of the store. They have are the traditional old fashions, cake, French and raised and the fancies like bars, jellies and fritters and pastries. I got a dozen old fashions, glazed and cake donuts, a maple bar and a cinnamon roll. The donuts were all delicious and I liked how light and fluffy were the glazed donuts. So, I went in and they had what I was looking for, and it was after lunch - a lot of places don't have chocolate covered old fashions in the afternoon. It was great! I found about this spot through the app TooGoodtoGo, which essentially lets you purchase the leftover food that would have been otherwise wasted at a discounted price. Upon arrival, there were still plenty of options available in the case. I showed my order to the man working and he quickly got me my bag. There were so many donuts inside! I love trying new things, so I was super glad that I was able to sample a whole variety of their donuts. I hate that this place is literally on my way into work. I've stopped here two days in a row. I love donuts but try to not have them so often especially when I am trying to watch my lbs! With the non-stop gentrification of the Elmwood, it's nice to see this greasy spoon soldier on, especially for the neighborhood seniors on fixed incomes shuffling in for a diner-style cooked breakfast. Their service was really efficient and the coffee even came with a cardboard insert that stabilized the bottom of the bag which I felt was well thought out. 6/10/22 My gf picked this up so I only know what I ate, which came in a cute pink box (I dig that... doughnuts MUST come in pink boxes, else I'm not sure if we can call them doughnuts right?) This one was extra pink though--I dig it. The doughnuts themselves are mostly unremarkable. Of course, I did text her to get some of the cooler ones I saw in the Yelp pics page once she told me she was going there, but alas she ignored me.... and got plain Jane stuff, various yeast doughnuts, some filled. They were all well made, but I can't say they tasted anything special. The only real difference I'd say from the norm is that their doughnuts are somewhat more.... spherical? Like a little taller, less wide. It's most notable in the filled ones, which resemble almost balls squashed a tiny bit but was more round that flattened, filled with a TON of jelly. I swear that apple fritter was calling for me... just calling my name. So, I answered it... by ordering it at the register. I was just gonna get one, but then I saw the glazed twist.... and that maple bacon. I couldn't choose one, so I um... I just got them all. They're donuts! You can't have just one. Well, I can't anyways... Eating these donuts was like being in a boxing match. Seriously. The glazed twist was a pretty hard jab. Enough to do some damage, but I was still steady after eating it. It was the perfect glazed twist! It had a nice cinnamon-y taste and was huge and fluffy. The apple fritter was a painful punch! Enough to actually make my head spin. I was starting to feel dizzy after eating this fritter! It was so flippin' amazing! It was crispy ALL throughout! Not overly doughy at all, even in the center. It had the perfect amount of glaze on the top. Arguably one of the best apple fritters that I've ever consumed! But lemme tell ya... that... MAPLE... BACON!!! THAT thang... was a LOVE TKO! Nothing too fancy or funky, just solid, classic donuts at a very reasonable price. I ordered a blueberry cake donut and it was only $1.50! It was delicious and fresh with an excellent texture. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. There was no line, and a decent selection following the morning rush. The shop prefers cash, especially for small purchases. They charge a 75 cent fee for card purchases under $5. Street parking only, and it's on a busy corner. I'd recommend pulling into one of the neighborhood streets and walking a block or two to the shop. Solid donut fix. Way better than Kingpin, and for that I'm so grateful that Dream Fluff is much farther from campus... Otherwise, I'd be in bad shape (double entendre intended). As of December 2019, standard donuts here are $1.25 each. Picked up a regular glazed donut and a blueberry glazed earlier today and WOW, I was far from disappointed. I managed to eat both donuts before the bus picked me up (within a five minute period)--that's how good they were. I might even say that the blueberry glazed is as good as the Dunkin' Donuts ones... Even at 11am, when they probably weren't as fresh! Though I would like to note that the shop itself is a little run down. While I was ordering a homeless man walked into the store and poured himself coffee and left without paying (the owner was quite annoyed). I was a little bit mad at myself when I realized I hadn't reviewed Dream Fluff yet. Affordable, delicious, mom and pop feel, no wonder this place is my go-to. The name "dream fluff" is well earned. These are some fluffy doughnuts. And they're only $1 each, so the quality to price ratio is off the charts here. Make sure you bring cash unless you're planning on buying at least five doughnuts (which I fully support if that's the case). There's a $.75 surcharge for card for purchases under $5. I will say, it's a little bit dirty inside. I think it adds to the charm, and the doughnuts are good enough that I'm willing to overlook it. Dream Fluff is located on the busy intersection of College and Ashby, so I recommend parking on the side street near the library and then walking a block or two. Better yet, the 80/81 and 51B bus lines both drop you off very close. I like to take the bus over here, grab a doughnut, and then go wander around the shops of Elmwood. This is one of my favorite parts of Berkeley, so may as well enjoy the setting while you're here getting a great doughnut! read more
