James is fantastic! I called last week and he was completely booked that day. He was able to come the following day though and showed up promptly at our door before 8:30am. He called at 7:50am to let me know he was on the way. I don't know a thing about air conditioning repair, but he diagnosed and fixed the problem in around an hour. He also helped replace our filter that we couldn't reach. He is professional and personable. He was great with our little puppy too. Thanks, James! read more

Chase was extremely courteous and right on time. He found a problem with our ducting in the attic and promptly fixed the problem! Yay, better a/c!! And his prices are very reasonable! Thank you Chase! read more

I love these guys, they are so professional and they spent a long time going over my dinosaur AC unit, checking it out, cleaning it off, replacing old parts and telling me what to do in order to keep it clean. From talking with Susan over the phone, the tech guy who came out to my home, all I can say is wow, wow and more wow! Why can't all service be THIS AMAZING!!! I love Dragonfly Mechanical and will be a loyal customer of theirs. Thanks guys! Dave read more

These guys are truly the best I have worked with. They are fair, honest, and very responsive. We have used them for both maintenance and installing a new system. With the new system they gave us options and explained each one. read more

I hired James and his team at Dragonfly Mechanical to do a full HVAC replacement in May, and I'm now happily living in a cool house on these hot summer days. While I was gathering bids on the job, I was impressed with how friendly and responsive James and his team were. And when I decided on Dragonfly Mechanical to do the work, James and his team were quick about scheduling and completing the job. They provided excellent work and high quality equipment at a competitive price. I was impressed by Dragonfly Mechanical's customer service and professionalism, and am so thankful for the great job they did with my home's HVAC replacement. read more

After reading other reviews about Dragonfly I called them. They were fast polite and came to my home that very day. I am so impressed with their service I would recommend them in a heartbeat. It turned out I could have continued to have it repaired like I have for the past few years but I bit the bullet and purchase a new unit. Dragonfly had a new unit installed the very next day and had it completed within 5 hours just like they said they would. Impressive- very impressive. read more

Call Dragonfly FIRST if you need AC help! TL;dr When you've sold your house but haven't yet closed, and the AC has died at the start of summer in Texas, and replacing the whole thing would deplete your earnest money savings for the next house - who you gonna call? James Moore and his brilliant crew at Dragonfly Mechanical, that's who. They have NEVER failed to be prompt, efficient, effective - and they are good people, too. Call them! read more

Just had a great experience with James Moore of Dragonfly Mechanical. I called him yesterday (Sunday) to see if he could help me with a clogged A/C drip pan drain line. He returned my call promptly and made me his first service call this morning. He showed up precisely when he said he would, and he had the problem fixed in no time. He was friendly and personable with an easygoing vibe. He even kept his cool when my psychotic dog nipped his ankles a couple times. And the best part? He charged me his normal service call fee, but didn't didn't charge me for his time since he was only here for about 10 minutes. Five stars...will definitely call James again when I need HVAC services. Mahalo nui loa, James. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company! They are very honest, professional and truly strive to provide excellent customer service. James and Paul have worked very hard on providing us with an excellent experience! I highly recommend using Dragonfly! read more

I've been with Dragonfly for over 5 years and nobody knows AC like James. He runs an honest, professional and reliable company and is the only one I trust to service my unit. He's meticulous and has fixed some major problems KB's contractors caused with shoddy installation. No matter what the problem is he can fix any unit! read more

Would highly recommend! Like many others, the extreme heat yesterday caused our A/C to stop working. I called multiple other businesses who were booked for the next 1-2 days. Dragonfly was able to come the same day. Seth was able to quickly identify and repair the problem and our home was feeling cooler before he could even drive away. We are very thankful for the excellent service we received from Dragonfly today and they will definitely be our first call for any future HVAC needs. read more

Local Company. AC on blink today. Called one company left phone number and on voice mail. Called Dragonfly got a pleasant Lady and she scheduled me for AC repair today 08/04//17. Came a little late and that is very understandable as it summer and busiest time of the year. They fixed it and happy. No nonsense kind of service. Thanks for great response and fix. read more

When I called Dragonfly, I just chose them because I was desperate, the ceiling in my rental property had a huge water stain from the AC in the attic, they had great reviews and mostly, I liked the name. I spoke with James over the phone and he was awesome! He wanted to come that day but it didn't work for me so he came the next day. I was freaking out thinking it was going to be this massive repair. And me, knowing nothing at all about AC units, he could have told me I needed a new one and I would have believed him. Instead, he said it was a super easy fix. He climbed up into the very hot attic (this was over the summer), did his magic, and voila' no more leak. Granted, then I did have to pay a million trillion dollars to have another company do water remediation and carpentry for a new ceiling but his part was stellar. I highly recommend him! read more

I called Dragonfly Mechanical Sunday morning after a sleepless night of no a/c. James eased my concerns by assuring he would schedule me in same day. In fact, he was able to swing by within a couple hours. It ended up being an issue with my Nest, but he talked me through all the troubleshooting steps and even cleaned the a/c unit. James is a great guy and I really appreciated his prompt and efficient service. **Tip for those who want to schedule an appointment: Use the online form so that they have a record of your request with your contact info. Apparently they are in the field pretty much all day and that helps them provide quicker turnaround. read more

We moved into a house on Friday the 29th and man, it was HOT. We ran the a/c, we turned it off in case it was frozen, we ran it more, left it off, turned it on.. nothing... NOBODY answered the phone because it was Saturday until we called Dragonfly. Answered first time, came out within 20 minutes, diagnosed it and was gone within an hour. I live in the Highland Park neighborhood and so did the guy that came, so it was a very easy and fast job for him. He answered all my questions and we talked a little after he finished. I know way more about a/c units now. Haha. He explained everything to me I could possible think to ask, before I asked it. I'll definitely call them again. read more

I called James less than two hours ago, and he's already been here and fixed my heat! It broke last winter, but I was hesitant to call for repairs as I knew it would be costly. I decided I didn't want to go another winter without it, so I decided to give it a go. I found James on Yelp, and called him because of his great reviews. Not only did he fix my heat in about 15 minutes, but it was something small that didn't cost me much at all. He could have told me it was anything, and I would have been clueless, assuming it needed to be done. However, he was honest, fixed the small problem, and charged me a small fee. I couldn't be happier, and I would recommend him to anyone! read more

Professional, personal, respectful, prompt, reasonable prices/quotes... I would give James and Dragonfly 5 stars in each category! They worked with me to quote the unit and install that fit my needs and budget. I almost feel bad for shopping them around - they were that good to work with. Next time I need HVAC service or install, the decision is already made to call Dragonfly. read more

I have had James Moore of Dragonfly Mechanical take care of a big job of installing new vent system in my attic...he found major botched "fixes" from the past. His crew was wonderful from the start to finish. But the best is that I have his maintenance plan on my heating and AC. I never have a problem because of James. And he is the most amazing person.... I trust him in my home and with my 14 year old dog even if I am not home. Best thing to do to save money is a contract with James! read more

Really really happy with these guys. And not just because they were the first company NOT to leave me hanging on a return call or appointment. They called back within minutes of my first call to let me know whether or not they could do the job. They set up an appt for the following day, showed up on time, spent exactly the amount of time they said it would take AND charged me exactly what I was quoted. NO surprises, no let downs. Thank you Dragonfly!! read more

Responsive, Polite, Prompt, Fast but Thorough, Reasonably Priced!!! Shall I say more?!?

Update: I had the occasion to use Dragonfly again this week, when our main house AC decided to quit working. Once again, we received same-day service, and our air conditioner is back in perfect working order. Quick, friendly service!!! These guys are awesome. read more

Had a water drainage problem. Called at 3:00 and they arrived at 4:30 and fixed the problem by 5:00. Will definately use again. Jim was professional and experienced. read more

Love these guys especially Brian! He came out on a Friday night when our air conditioning stopped working (and we have a 12 month old baby) he came our right away and fixed our issue! Plus this guy loves Batman! So that's always a bonus! read more

Not just a great local business but an awesome one. We could have had a miserably warm weekend after our AC "popped it's capacitor" Saturday evening. Not only did Dragonfly return my call after 9PM that night, they had the system rocking and rolling again before 11 the next morning. I believe that makes the maintenance agreement I signed onto this Spring PRICELESS. I don't know why you'd do business with anyone else. read more

James has come out to my house 3 times now. He's quick and efficient. Affordable as we'll. he knows what he's doing and doesn't jerk you around. read more

James is awesome. A super pleasant, professional, positive human being running a great company. I called him around 10 am and due to a cancellation he was able to come to my house right away and get my AC running in just about an hours time, literally. Hes super knowledgeable and thorough and will give you his honest opinion. I am a renter and therefore not well seasoned in home repair, but I made the right choice with Dragonfly Mechanical. Definitely recommend calling James and having the Mothership come to your house! read more

James was great to work with. I don't know anything about A/C but I do know a thing or two about honest people. His reputation speaks for itself. He was able to come out on short notice and had the parts on hand to get me back up and running. None of this I will be back later with the part. He understood my need to get as much life out of my aging system and did not attempt to up sell me into a new unit. When my system finally goes down for the count. I will buy a new system from James. He understands the way to build a faithful customer base it to treat each person with honesty and integrity. Thanks James. read more

Been using James for almost 10 years now in 3 different homes. Just awesome. I won't let anyone else touch my HVAC.

I have used the services of James (the owner) and his mothership for both my home and my rental for almost 5 years now. I cant believe I waited this long to write a review. James will give you the straight scoop and nothing more. I like being on his 2 x' a year maintaince plan, saves me hassle of having to remind myself did I check rental for new filters etc. Peace of mind, knowing I have James in my contacts on iphone, should I or my tenants ever need service. Thank you James. read more

My AC inconveniently broke as I was embarking on a baking order of 650 desserts. A friend insisted I call her guy, and I did--but he was booked up through Tuesday. I could not wait 4 days to have this resolved so I asked him if he could recommend someone else. Without skipping a beat, he said "Dragonfly Mechanical". I called and got James on the phone. He told me he could be here the same afternoon and he did not let me down. When James arrived, he checked everything out, while explaining to me what he was checking for and the relative cost of the parts in each scenario. He was professional, courteous, friendly and thorough and corrected my issue within 1 hour. I am a customer for life (or as long as I am in central Texas), and I will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs repairs in the future. read more

SO AWESOME! James is great. After responding to a late-night report first thing the next morning, he arrived and promptly pointed out the issue. But rather than charging us $300 to bring a crew out, he explained to me how to fix it, as it was a ridiculously simple code issue which should only cost us a less than $10 trip to Home Depot. We will continue to use Dragonfly for all of our heating and cooling needs! read more

Only way to make service call was to go through website. It took several hours to get a response. When I did it was sorry booked until Monday. I told them Monday was good. Never heard from them again and they never showed up for the call. I then called ARS and they had someone out the same day. I will NEVER call this company again. This was the first time I used Yelp.com. After reviewing all the good review, I don't have any confidence in the site and odds are I will not use this site again. read more

I highly recommend Dragonfly and the crew. Nice folks, quick responses, good work and reasonably priced!

Wow. What can I say. They are amazing. I highly recommend them. I have used several of their competitors and was not satisfied. Dragonfly did an amazing job installing my new thermostat and servicing my Hvac. Thanks! read more

A+++++ Our system was not cooling the upstairs and the unit is going on 8 years old. Called Dragonfly based on Yelp reviews. Got same day service, Ray was awesome and did a complete service and was completely honest about the system. Basic maintenance and the fact that we have new Smart thermostats that needed to be programmed tighter was the problem. He added the basic amount of Freon and called it a day. So satisfied that we are signing up for yearly preventative service. read more

We could not be happier with the service we got from Dragonfly. From the website, I requested a service check on an old AC system and wanted to sign up for the annual maintenance check. The office called very promptly and they set an appointment within a few days. The technician arrived promptly and explained the work to be done and then performed the service we asked for. Super polite and thorough! In a short time, the units were cooling beautifully and we were super pleased. In every aspect, they communicate well and do what they say they will do. No high pressure and our questions were all answered. We will definitely use them again! read more

Not fun when AC goes out in Austin but we called Dragonfly Mechanical and within a few hours James came out and was able to get us going again. Previous person who came out said that we needed to replace the whole system soon but James replaced only the fan and got us up and going. Our house has never felt cooler and a fraction of what we would have payed elsewhere. Well trusted and quick service!! read more
