Customer service was friendly and they were pretty quick with bringing our food. Very nice food presentation. Highly recommend the scallop shiu mai (probably one of the bests I've had). The shiu mais were huge and very flavorful. I also loved the honey walnut shrimps and har gow. My friend loved the bbq pork bao with the crispy top. I think their portions are quite large. We didn't expect the beef chow fun to be massive and couldn't finish lol. Their hot tea was also strong but delicious. I was really wanting to get something fresh and healthy- authentic Chinese food. Dragon Beaux was phenomenal tonight. The Har Gao shrimp dumplings were the best I've had delivered. I loved how the noodle wrapping was thin and delicate, and perfectly tender, and the contents were a whole fresh shrimp rather than minced. Sadly, they didn't serve it with sauce, but it almost didn't need soy sauce. I use some from home and it just took it all the way to the next level. The potstickers arrived soggy, and it appeared that the dipping sauce which was delicious had leaked all over them, so I'm not sure what they're really like. We loved our entrée which was shrimp and scallop with vegetables and XO sauce. Everything was perfectly cooked and super fresh and generous portions. Dragon Beaux: I Came Back for the Buns! While in San Francisco, I made another stop at Dragon Beaux. I've been here before, so I already knew we were in for some good dim sum, but there are always a few dishes that make you sit up and say, Yep, I remember why I like this place. The Juicy Pork Xiao Long Bao were delicious. The soup inside had a light, delicate flavor that I really enjoyed. It wasn't overpowering at all. I also loved the traditional touch of the carrot underneath each dumpling. But let's talk about the Baked BBQ Pork Bao Buns because THIS is where I get excited. These buns are perfection. I'm literally salivating as I write this. The crispy, tasty tops are absolutely addictive, and they even come in little cupcake liners. Eat them immediately when they arrive at your table. A warm, freshly baked BBQ pork bun is the epitome of culinary bliss. Seriously, chef's kiss! The rice rolls were tasty, especially dipped in the soy peanut sauce. That was a first for me, and I really enjoyed it. Without the sauce, they were a little plain and mostly tasted like a noodle, but the sauce gave them a whole new personality. We also had the green beans, and Dragon Beaux was happy to customize them by removing the meat and leaving out the chili. Without the spice, the robust garlic flavor could really shine. That was exactly what I wanted. My son's girlfriend also had the tofu moped. I didn't try it myself, but she's had it here before and likes it. This time she had them make it not spicy, and she was happy with it. Dragon Beaux is one of those places where I can say, I've been here before, and I'm still excited to come back. Great dim sum outside of Japan town. We came here around 1:30 on a Monday and it was not crowded but still had half the restaurant full. The dimsum was delicious. I tried the 5 shrimp dumplings that had different flavors which was interesting to try. I wouldn't get it again though since wasabi, beet, carrot, and habanero peppers don't match. Solid place for dim sum. I'd lean toward describing this place as a modern, fusion-adjacent experience rather than a traditional place, but we still had a solid time. This place was modern in appearance, and quite large. Even with the generous amount of space inside, it can still get really busy as to have a waitlist. Upon sitting, they gave us a menu and order slip. Ordering through the paper slip, you list what you want. I do appreciate that, as it minimizes the amount of mistakes that can be made. The dishes we got we enjoyed. We really did find them good, even to those with very little experience in the cuisine. The XLB were solid, but I wouldn't qualify them among the very best I've had in my life. Same really goes for everything we had on the table; good, solid taste. What an experience more than anything. This is a HUGE dim sum restaurant and is a cultural experience. We had a 11am reservation on a holiday and checked in and were seated quickly. The line was out the door to get a table, so many people waiting. Definitely make a reservation. Took a little while to get a high chair. But lots of space for strollers, walkers, wheel chairs, the restaurant had 3 huge dining room areas and dozens of tables. We ordered on a sheet where you check what you want and then pretty sporadically we'd get our many plates. Everything was yummy. Came here for dim sum. They give you a paper menu and you check which items you want. I would say this spot is more fusion than a traditional dim sum. Still tasty tho. The scallop shu mai was my favorite. It was huge too. Got the assorted XLB but they all tasted like regular pork dumplings. Come with a big group so you can share and try different dishes. Been here a few times now for weekend dim sum with the family and friends. It's usually one of the spots we pick when we want a big table and just catch up. The place gets really busy, so definitely plan ahead and make reservations for weekend brunch. Parking can also be a little hectic since it's mostly street parking around the area and gets very busy. The dim sum here is menu ordering and it's definitely on the pricier side. For me it's kind of hit of miss. Some dishes are really good and you can tell they make things fresh, but some feel a little mediocre especially for the price. The one thing that keeps happening whenever I come here is that a lot of the dim sum comes out lukewarm or sometimes even a little cold. I know it's coming straight from the kitchen and the flavors are there, but it just never seems to arrive hot which takes away from the experience. That being said, it's still a nice spot to hang out with friends and family. The rooms is lively and bustling and the service has always been friendly no matter how busy the place gets. Highlights include delicate scallop shumai, rice noodle rolls with delicious BBQ pork or shrimp, crispy fried noodles with bok choy with fresh scallop & cuttlefish, pillowy spinach dumplings, and juicy XLBs served with fresh ginger and black vinegar. No carts here, but a paper menu and a pencil for ordering. The dining room is friendly and functional, with steady refills of tea. Unfortunately, the experience is tempered by restrooms here, which can get dirty, and as of our visit, we found in an unfortunate state of disrepair. Two of our guests felt so uncomfortable, they waited to leave to use them; one women's stall (the only one available) was missing half a toilet seat (!?), and my elderly father described the men's room as awful--and he's seen some things. There were booth seating along the window and a row basically in the middle of the room just parallel to the bar. Very comfortable seating with some intricate design on the seat post and table. They do have a huge dining area to accommodate larger parties. Teapot had a stand with lit tealight to hell keep the teapot warm. A plus! The food was delicious, fresh, and high quality. We got some traditional and some traditional with a twist dim sum items. Everything was excellent. I've been here many times and ordered several dim sum dishes during this visit. Ordered about 12 dishes. The standout was the shiu mai. It was incredibly large, flavorful, and one of the best dishes we had. Overall, most of the food was good, but a couple of dishes weren't as good as I remembered. The scallop porridge used to be one of my favorites because it was smooth, creamy, and comforting. This time it was thick and clumpy, and honestly, I could have made a better bowl at home. The chicken feet also seemed overcooked or oversteamed, making them much softer than they should have been. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. We repeatedly had to flag down our waiter, and he would often walk away while we were still speaking instead of waiting to hear what we needed. We wanted to order more dishes but had a hard time getting anyone's attention. The service has definitely declined since my previous visits. That's unfortunate because while the food is still generally good, there are other dim sum restaurants with food that's just as good and much better service, and I'll probably bring my guests there instead. One other concern: the bathroom floor becomes extremely slippery when it's wet. I almost slipped, and my friend nearly fell as well. I hope management addresses this before someone gets injured. Best dim sum in sf! Expect a very long wait for peak dim sum hours (weekend brunch time). Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if possible - this puts you at the top of the list which makes your wait much shorter than if you just show up and put your name down. Service is pretty standard for a super busy dim sum spot. The workers have to be quick to get people in and out as fast as they can; they're kind, but you're not going to get flowery service. Ordering is easy- you mark what you want on the pamphlet and they'll get it from you and have your table marked with all your orders. Plates come out at different times depending on what's available. The food itself is amazing, and I think it's the best dim sum place in sf proper. All the standard dim sum dumplings (har gow, siu mai) are perfectly made. Very flavorful and well crafted. My other favorites are the taro pork puffs and the shrimp crepe rolls. I also really like the chicken feet here, and I don't typically go for chicken feet. Full of meat and juicy, plus easy to eat. Besides the standard plates, we sometimes like ordering original items like the colorful dumplings. All have been great and tasty too. Made a reservation for 6pm on the day before thanksgiving. Good thing I did because the restaurant was packed. However by 7:30pm, a lot of the groups left. On this day they had a thanksgiving menu. Which just means the menu was limited but still had a lot of options. We wanted salted egg yolk crab but they only offered ginger scallion or steamed with garlic. However the menu had a QR code linking to their full menu so that was confusing. Dim sum was still offered in the evening but none of the tables I've seen had ordered any. It's not officially crab season yet so our crab was small. However it was fresh and cooked perfectly. The crab was $49. We also ordered the lobster with e-fu noodles for $48. Lobster was also very fresh and done perfectly. Not overcooked or rubbery. The noodles were also not too soft. It had a ton of ginger though which I ended up picking out. Although the staffs were busy, the crab came out 15 minutes after ordering. Then the lobster 6 minutes later. However staffs were not attentive. Decided to come here on Valentines day and was glad to make a reservation with the long wait. We were seated quickly and was able to receive our food at a good pace. Since we got a lot of food, I'll keep the review of the food pretty brief. Peking Duck (3.7/5) - The skin of the duck was very crispy. The meat was more fatty than I would want for peking duck. The bun was one of my favorite bun I had for peking duck. The sauce was very unique, with one being the ginger sauce. The pickled onion really tied the whole dish together. Classic Shrimp Dumpling (4/5) - Nothing much to say here. It was pretty solid and standard. The wrapping was more dense than your average Hacao. XLB (3/5) - The soup was a bit on the bland side. The carrot underneath was a surprise to me. The filling and wrapper tasted fine. Egg white and Scallop Fried Rice (4.5/5) - A great dish! Had a nice crunch on top with a great amount of egg and scallop in the dish. Taste great even as a leftover. Chili Wonton (4.3/5) - It is not your typical Wonton from Din Tai Fung. The chili was more like a sate. However, I did enjoy it and would get it again. Crab Roe Siu Mai (3.7/5) - It was an average Siu Mai. I like the popping texture of the roe. I was it was a bit more of the crab and less of the shitake mushroom taste. Overall, a great experience and nice way to spend Valentine's day here. I will be back to try more dishes. read more

We celebrated my sister's birthday at Dragon Beaux, which has become our go-to spot for family gatherings--everything from casual dim sum to special occasions. This time, we went big with a 10-course banquet for 10 people. What made the night extra special was having all her grandkids there too: a toddler and two babies, bringing lots of joy (and cuteness) to the table. The delicious Chinese food was excellent, as always, but what truly made the evening memorable was the service. We were fortunate to have an amazing team taking care of us--Marco, our lead waiter (yes, that Marco... "Marco Polo," as he joked), along with his attentive assistants, Lala and Fai. After dinner, Marco led the group in singing Happy Birthday and then cut the cake. A really thoughtful touch was how he acknowledged the grandchildren--remembering the toddler from when she was a baby and noting how young one of the babies was. We ended the night with warm goodbyes and cheerful wishes of "Happy Holidays." There is ample seating and looks like there's a bigger room in the back to accommodate large parties. The service was prompt and friendly. I have a nut and peanut allergy, and I was worried that the chili oil would have nuts in it, and a gentleman that worked there (might be a manager) said they don't use any nut oils and the dishes that have nuts are clearly stated. My BFF and her mama and her uncle were in town so after picking them up we hustled to Dragon Beaux to get our dim sum fix. Reservations were easy to make on Yelp and parking was relatively easy to find on the street since we were going right near opening. Menu and table service, no carts and the interior is decorated in an upscale way compared to other dim sum restaurants where the carpets are sticky. Everything we tried was outstanding: Shrimp dumplings Steamed ribs Steamed rice rolls Chicken paws Multi colored dumplings Lotus wrapped rice Service was prompt and they were quick to refill and take extra orders.
