Had an opportunity to grab a Watermelon Yuzu Lemonade at the Downtown SJ Block Party @ San Pedro! Drae and his pops had to pivot quickly in order to meet the demands of the people. Because of his connection to Voyager Drae was able to use their counter space to take orders while his pops (and friends) churned out lemonade after lemonade. The syrup and juice were all made with fresh ingredients, and the sparkling element came from top quality sparkling water. In true cafe/bar fashion the drinks were made to order with a cocktail shaker! The Watermelon Yuzu Lemonade was refreshing and the perfect level of sweet. 10/10 for the drink. Definitely worth lookin out for! (And Drae, give your dad a raise!)

My wife and I bought a case when we attended the Chuseok Festival in San Francisco, and we're hoping to find him there again this coming September. I totally agree with everyone who already reported on how good the product tastes. One perk for those of you who occasionally let plant cuttings grow roots in a jar filled with water, Drae's container is the perfect size and shape, and it looks pretty cool too.

I've had Draes Lemonade 3 times and it has been AMAZING since the start. To start off Drae is such a genuine guy and no matter how packed his booth was or how much was going on he always had a smile on his face ready to serve up some bomb lemonade. His lemonade is actually different from stuff around and not just the unique flavors he offers, but it tastes like lemonade your mom would make in the best way possible. It doesn't taste processed or super sugary just the good stuff. If you ever have a chance, give Draes a try!!!

I ordered the 109, which includes a medium spicy miso soup and a side order or meat, rice and green onions, as well as an egg. The soup itself has bamboo, seaweed, chashu, and a delicious mild spicy broth. The price was about $23 to $24, which is reasonable for the amount of food you get. The workers are friendly, and they offer free water if you ask. Since it's located inside a Mitsuwa, the parking can be challenging, especially during the weekends, so just be mindful of when you go. The plaza has other shops as well, in case you want to visit Paris Baguette, Daiso, etc. I recommend trying this place whenever you're near the area.

We had the seafood gumbo, not too spicy, but spicy enough and it was good with big portions of seafood and sausage with a scoop of rice over it. Ordering was easy we scanned a barcode put in our order and got our food within 10 minutes. Great customer service very clean and while we were eating, we could see that the employees put a lot of care into cleaning the tables and seats. Plenty of parking in back very spacious. They have overhead fans, but no need to turn them on because the restaurant was cool and airy not stuffy or hot. The waiters or servers always checked up on us to make sure that we were OK and if we needed anything else. This restaurant knows what they're doing! Added to one of my fav spots!

I won't forget how there were tasty options around every corner in Tokyo. Ever since I went to Japan last year, I crave delicious yakitori from a charcoal grill in the Bay Area and always seek out new places to try. I finally tried Okibiyaki-Kikuchi as a yakitori pop-up at ShaKa brewing after eyeing it for a long time. The grilled meat skewers were so delicious and enjoyable to eat with a cold beer flight from ShaKa brewing. The chef is a master of yakitori. I tried hatsu, kalbi, shishito, kimo, and bara tama. I can describe a perfect night like this. A perfect night included skewers from the live ember grill by the master chef and a beer flight. The flavors are legit-- the process of preparing the meat is impressive, and the technique with the charcoal grill brings out the best flavors. The Bay Area is treated to authentic flavors like in Japan. It is recommended that should arrive to the pop-up early as they ran out of the chicken skewers. I will absolutely order the chicken skin and thigh again and again. I also tried his pop up at Clandestine Brewery as well. The quality is so consistent and delicious. I like the vibe of eating like in a picnic style outdoors with a cold glass of beer. Nothing beats that for me. Follow @okibiyaki_kikuchi on IG to see where he pops up next.

The chicken curry noodle soup had a really good flavor and it was very comforting and you can definitely taste the love in the soup. The cookie reminds me of like a Vietnamese version of a granola bar and it was simple yet pleasant. I also like the pate chaud but I wished it was a little bit more warmer and crispy but overall I cannot wait to come back and try their other dishes. Lots of seating available around the park near the food truck as well.

We ordered the banh mi, the curry noodle soup, the socola cookie and a vietnamese coffee to go. The coffee hit the spot for me, the perfect strength and sweetness. I feel like it's harder to find this good of balance these days. As I'm not a big fan of fudge type cookies, I didn't like the socola so much, but my partner did. The curry noodle soup was tasty, reminded me of a Cambodian or Burmese style coconut curry soup, and the chicken was very tender. The banh mi for me, while I understood what they were going for, did not hit for me as much. There was shredded chicken mixed with pickled peppers and I believe shallots. The bread was nice and toasty and crunchy, but the filling felt a little dry. Overall, the dishes were on the pricier side, but you could tell the ingredients were fresh and also how much love and care went into the dishes. On top of that, I appreciated that most of the containers they used were compostable. The owners were really nice and extremely friendly, and besides the road side seating, there were also a few concrete benches nearby as well. With the cool weather, it would have been a perfect day to eat outside and enjoy some sunshine.

To preface, I'm comparing my experience with the Tsujita in LA that I have been to before. The tsukemen is not as flavorful as I quite remembered. It wasn't until near the end of the meal that I noticed the broth was concentrated at the bottom. I highly suggest mixing the broth first before eating. This was not an issue when I ate at the LA location. The salmon bowl is a new dish I did not try previously. There's a unique smell to the dish, which either comes from the sauce or fish, that can be off-putting to some people. I suggest to go with the tsukemen the restaurant is known for.
