The food was good but not great- I've had better Chinese food that's had more flavor but I would order again if I had no other option. It's close to the childrens hospital is why I ordered from here to begin with and it came quick and warm. The chicken lo míen noodles were good but the pork fried rice had barley any flavor. My husband got take out last night. I got the Tofu Pad Thai and my husband got the Vegetable Fried Rice. When he got home, I was not pleased with the presentation. I tried my meal and the vegetables and noodles were overcooked. Was charged extra for tofu and they only gave 6-7 small pieces. It wasn't good either. My husband's fried rice was also overcooked and greasy. He told me that the place was extra pack too. My work loves to order from this place and I don't see why. Food is yucky!! I'm not picky either. I came here for take out during lunch yesterday. The service and price were great. The amount of food you get is amazing for the price! I ordered sesame chicken and white rice lunch combo and was able to get a drink included in the price (you can also get an egg roll or soup option instead of the drink) for $5.95. The menu has a plethora of options to choose from making your food choice easy or difficult, depending how you see it! The wait was quick (maybe 5-10 minutes max). I was surprised at how quickly I received my meal. When I got to work and opened my food container, I was impressed with the amount of food provided. It was pretty good as well! The rice was fluffy and plenty there was plenty of it. The chicken was tender, a bit chewy. The sauce was delicious - sweet. Have been looking for a good Asian American takeout place that was up to my standards being from a very heavily Asian immigrant city and growing up with Thai aunties who cooked a lot. All I can say is best affordable Asian American takeout in the area. The Pad Thai had great flavor balance, the beef lo mein was near perfect. TLDR: Cheap. Chinese. Food. The thing about cheap chinese food is...you get what you pay for. That being said, if you're looking for some quick and easy americanized chinese food, you can't really go wrong with this place. You can call in, but they're really fast once you order so it doesn't really matter anyway. The food is made to order, so at least the main dishes are piping hot when you get it. The fried rice that comes with the lunch special and combination plate isn't too great, but again you have to remember how much you paid for the amount of food that they give you. I'm still working my way through my favorites on the menu, but most everything I've tried tastes pretty good. Schezwan chicken, sesame chicken, or general tso's is usually my main go-to, and the lo mein is given in big quantities when I want leftovers to heat up for later. As others have mentioned, it's a little small and smells like grease in the restaurant. Take-out is definitely their forte. But this is my go-to when I'm craving some decent cheap chinese food to eat while curled up in a blanket at home. They just need to add delivery service, and I'm sold ;) read more

Looking for lunch in the area and not wanting the normal American food, I decided to take a chance on this small restaurant in the shopping mall. The location is quite small, enough for a few tables. The options are comparable to other fast food Chinese restaurants (the standard Americanized Chinese food) and what you get I'll say is quite similar. They do have a lunch special is a pretty good deal so if you're in the area for lunch I'd recommend it as it's not half bad. Ever since I've moved up here after college, I've been looking for a close place that does decent, cheap Chinese food, and I think I found it. Double Dragon II serves the typical range of American Chinese Food (sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, general tso's chicken, etc,). I got the dinner size general tso's chicken which was big enough for lunch and dinner. It comes with fried rice and an egg roll for $7.95. The sauce was the standard sauce you'll find in most of the American Chinese restaurants. If you've had the chicken with vegetables before, only expect about 2 or 3 pieces of broccoli to be included with the chicken. The place is small, they cater more to carryout. They probably had about 75 items on their menu, so you can find something that you have heard of. Overall, the food was good cheap. If I'm in the need for a quick meal, I would probably come back here... we'll see how I feel tomorrow after eating all of this food. read more

Love their food. I always get the veggie lo mein, extra spicy and it never disappoints. However, several times I have ordered takeout and have gotten beef lo mein instead of veggie lo mein. I am a vegetarian so I always have to drive all the way back and get a new order. That being said, they are always very apologetic and make everything right quickly. Another thing I've noticed about this place is that it's not really somewhere you want to sit down and have your meal. Every time I've gone to get takeout there hasn't been a single customer eating in the restaurant, and there is a somewhat awkward vibe. However, I would definitely still recommend trying their food. This is my go to when it comes to Chinese. It's very close to the Oakley/Hyde Park area, which is an added bonus. It's located in a Plaza off Montgomery. There is plenty of seating inside but I usually go for take-out. It's your typical Chinese food menu that were all accustomed to. I'm a big fan of how quick the service here it. They are new (opened Summer 2012) so are still hitting their stride during busy times, however you usually won't have to wait more than 10 minutes for a carry-out order. I highly recommend phoning ahead to place your order, and then coming to collect. Food is made to order, so if you like extra/less spice, extra/less veg etc let them know and they're pretty great at this. The lunch-special is a bargain with generous portions although any of their meals would be easy to share with 2 people. Their food is *always* hot and the hostess is friendly and works swiftly. In-house seating is available and is clean although it can sometimes be very cool (likely only a problem during summer seasons). Don't usually give 4 stars or above on Chinese. So my wife and I was heading to church st 2:30 at New Day Church was craving for Chinese, drove by and did a Yelp. It gave 3-1/2 stars, so we tried it. We ordered Family special not too bad. A lot of assorted meat and seafood and portion was huge. Then ordered beef chow fun thin noodle was also good and I had to get my fried dumpling.
